3 Days in Chiang Mai 🥥 Thailand Travel Vlog

Hello! It’s day 7 in Chiang Mai Going on a day trip to Mae Kampong, a mountain village 1.5 hours away from the city A return trip via van transport here only costs $11 USD so it’s a super cheap day trip Details are in the description 🙂 It’s 9.15am, so let’s get some coffee first Walking to a cafe by a waterfall! Getting abit of a workout with the slight elevation haha The cafe is down this set of stairs The sound of cascading water grows louder as you near the cafe It’s so rustic, surrounded by nature. Love it! They only have cakes and drinks The best seats are at the back Right beside a mini waterfall There’s an upper deck too, but I like it better below I enjoyed the cheesecake! Everyone else ate and left, but we sat for an hour to enjoy the cool air and soothing sounds They have guest houses here too Now let’s make our way out via this suspension bridge It’s pretty high up.. and I couldn’t finish my drink so I’m holding it in one hand. LOL Way scarier than I had expected!! Made it all the way across! Back at the main village area where the road is lined with local shops and restaurants This charming little village, around 1000m above sea level, is known for its traditional wooden houses There are some guesthouses here too if you wish to stay a night Moo ping here costs the same as at a night market in the city He’s getting some food before we make our way to Mae Kampong Waterfall, one of the main attractions here A cozy 3-storey restaurant with a view We got window seats on the second storey The khao soi we had in the previous vlog is still my favourite. The curry in this one is much thinner But the prices here are reasonable and you get a bird’s-eye view of the street below We continued up the main road towards the waterfall and passed by many guesthouses There’s also a temple along the road Ended up taking a songthaew (pickup truck) for 20B each. Good decision because the road was steep! Reached Maekampong Waterfall in a few minutes It isn’t big but you can snap some nice photos here There is a trail leading further up the waterfall but I don’t have proper footwear so… nope. Taking the same songthaew down to a cafe with a view, for another 20B each The view is amazing! My camera doesn’t do it justice These cats know the best spot in Mae Kampong It’s so peaceful here, I don’t want to leave But we want to catch the 1:20pm van back to the city. We’re walking back down to the village, about 1km away Downhill is tougher than expected due to the steep gradient But you get to see more of the village and accomodations on foot It’d be nice to stay here and enjoy the calming sound of the stream Getting a banana chocolate taiyaki before we leave It’s thin and flaky. Rather delicious! Back in the city and we’re going to get a haircut at this store with cats haha Only 300B for cut and wash. The 20 minute wash was SO RELAXING They serve seafood from sustainable fisheries and ingredients are locally sourced Never tasted any drink like this before! It has a smoky flavour and is mildly sweet So much seafood inside. All very fresh Had the best meal of our whole trip here 🙂 A canal that has been transformed into a tourist attraction, with shops on both sides Probably would look better in the day time Not many shops were open Nothing much of interest here so we walked through it pretty quickly It’s 8:30am, Friday. Did we come too early? Because the stalls are mostly closed haha Found out from a store owner that most food stalls open on Saturday & Sunday only 🙁 But there’s coffee! So we’re happy In the center of the market are rows of coconut trees… and cute little huts The green “grass” is actually moss on water! Be careful not to fall in haha It’s a really pretty market where you can get lots of photos More stalls have opened now that it’s 9am He’s getting some incense at 1B per piece A stall selling organic fruit, herbs and spices Got myself a nice set of cotton clothes at this stall for 480B Spotted coconut ice cream! We haven’t had it on this trip yet Such a generous serving for 60B Put as much toppings as you want. Peanuts and grass jelly are a must! He wanted to eat chicken rice and found a shop at a rest stop near the coconut market Random chicken rice find was not bad. Only 75B! I’m having khao soy at this Michelin recommended place near our hotel There was a queue the other day, but it’s only 11am now and not crowded yet The beef’s really tender but I still prefer the curry at Khao So-i! We went there in my last vlog 🙂 The pricing and coffee here are good though Back at our hotel because we’re taking it slow on our last full day in Chiang Mai Enjoyed the pool for abit We really like this hotel. Room tour’s in the previous vlog linked in description! He ordered grab delivery to the room. Basil pork rice I went out on my own to explore the area around our hotel. Hoping to find a snack There are some cafes around. This one’s selling yogurt This house is too cute, I have to go in! They sell homemade cakes and cookies Also some knick knacks on the side Bought this inhaler because it’s so soothing It’s not cheap for a cookie, but no regrets ordering this! They even warmed up and served it on a plate with fork haha We’re back at One Nimman to chill before dinner Getting a drink at the food court We were not expecting so many longans! Ahhh I love One Nimman so much. It’s beautiful Exploring the upper floors which we didn’t do on our first visit here You can get some nice views from up here Having Korean BBQ for dinner at 299B per pax! Sliced pork belly, collar, chicken fillet. They have a beef option which costs more A wide variety of banchan! We didn’t manage to eat much but it’s still worth the price paid Heading to a jazz club next! Chose to come on a Friday because this acoustic duo, Ribbindasky, is playing Such sweet harmony ♥ This place is so underrated. Not crowded at all Got a cocktail with vodka + ginger liqueur. Sweet and fruity I don’t drink alcohol much but this one’s so yummy It’s our last morning in Chiang Mai so let’s make the best of it! Heading to a nearby donut place for breakfast It’s located in a hotel So many flavours to choose from They have muffins too Reminds me of Krispy Kreme Better than McDonald’s haha. The sausage is crisp on the outside A very generous amount of choco filling! A large stationery and art supplies store Discovered a brand of pens called Oniso. I think it’s only found in Thailand It’s extremely smooth! Maybe even smoother than the muji pen Try it if you’re ever in Thailand Acrylic paints and brushes are upstairs I bought a pack of cheap brushes Back here again. Haha I told him about the chocolate cookie I had yesterday and he wants to try it too He says it’s good! I even bought another one to snack on the plane Found this teahouse while exploring the streets near our hotel A very small but cosy Japanese style interior A very small but cosy Japanese style interior They sell matcha powder, bowls, and other accessories here too Prices are on the higher side though This obsidian whisking bowl is really unique! Their menu is so extensive it’s confusing. Thankfully the staff were helpful I could watch others make matcha all day… We’ve got front row seats at the counter It’s pretty smooth Mochi is soft and jiggly! At the airport lounge now! Going to grab a bite before our flight The spread is simple but enough to fill our bellies There’s even a free 15 minute massage service haha And cocktails are available too Thank you for joining me in Chiang Mai!

  1. I’m kinda envious of people who live in this kind of environment with nature and small town, it looks so peaceful 🥹

  2. Hey, you captured it so beautifully 💚
just a small question, when this was filmed? I mean which month? I was looking for weather perspective… I’m planning to visit there
