直島自然散策 – 日本
Hey, hey, hey. Welcome back to the perfect walk everyone. My name is Clint and today we are on Nashima Island picking up where we left off on the last walk. We’ll be walking for around 30 minutes today around the edge of this beautiful island. And it is a beautiful island. I mean I mean I don’t have to prove myself I guess. But would you look at that? Gorgeous. So we’ve been walking already for about 30 minutes. That was last week’s walk. This week, we’re going to pick up where we left off and keep exploring. Having a wonderful time on this trip. If you’re new to the channel, welcome. Thanks for being here. This is a channel about walking around the world. Not literally. We’re doing walks at different places from around the world. That’s a better way to say it. Anyway, in 30 minute chunks, you’re going to see some amazing places. Let’s walk everybody. Look, it’s the ocean. Hello, ocean. Looks like we’re going uphill, which is my least ver favorite version of hills. We will try not to break the cardinal rule. Hey fish, you see a little fishy. Ocean fishy. So the cardinal rule of the walking channel is say it with me. Don’t get hit by a bus. So we will do our level best to keep our streak intact. What a beautiful place. It’s been over 40 years so far and I haven’t been hit by a bus a single time. I’m keeping my eyes out for turtles. We could just stay here. What do you think? The perfect view instead of the perfect walk. Yikes. I hate bicycling uphill. Good. Good for them. Good for them. Good on you, kind strangers. Walking up the hill. Walking up the hill. So, this is a hilly island, which means unfortunately that we’re going to have to walk up and down the hill two times. There and back again. There and back again. Hopefully they were smart engineers and didn’t build the the road all the way up when they can just go around. We shall see. But my plan today is just to explore this island for well for hours. It’s a different kind of Japanese travel experience than I’m used to. Wow, pretty day. [Applause] That’s where we just were. So, we’re making some progress. So when you come here instead of me, you probably want a bicycle. [Applause] Take the provided sidewalk, dummy. If you want to feel free to fast forward the hilly bit says 5 minutes on foot to an art museum. The Chichu Art Museum. Wow. Beautiful view over here. A helipad and a private dock. If you’re wondering where rich people pull up their boats when they visit Noshima. We found the hidden base. I’ll show you the hidden base. That’s it. What a view, huh? I think we’re near the top. Hopefully I’m not huffing and puffing too much for y’all. Me too. Cresting the hill. There is a good feeling. Let’s go. Yeah. Hell no. Oh my god. And this looks like an art museum. Chu art museum. Interesting. Thank you. Long ride. Have a nice day. Thank you. You too. I bet the art museum is wonderful. So again, when you come to this island, be sure to check out the art museum. I’m here for the nature walk. This is pretty. I would like it if this continues for a while. Remember, we do these walks in roundabout 30-minute chunks, so we got a while to go today. Oh, that’s nice. Even though that might be the best bench that I’m going to come across for a rest parking lot, public restrooms. I’m doing fine though. The Chichu Art Museum. I’m sure it’s fantastic. And this the ticket center for the Chichu Art Museum. Morning [Music] Zoom downhill. Oh, we got a cat up here enjoying a private moment. I’ll try not to show me. That’s the universal language of cats. But don’t get hit by a bus, cat. Come on. It’s a tiger in his domain. Do not disturb him. Everybody wants pictures of the kitty. It is the most popular public art display on the island. Good morning. We got some signs up here. Decisions to make. Let’s see. If I have my brothers, we’re going downhill. Beness art site to the left. Lee Ufan Museum to the right. Labyrinth of cherry blossoms. You are here. All right. Well, I’m in charge. So, we go downhill. It was tough to make heads or tails of the of the map. It looks like quite a bit of this is associated with the private museum, the Baness House, whom I believe is a super rich patron of the arts who kind of put this island on the map. But uh since they’re a humanitarian, they’ll want me to have relaxed and rested legs as well. It’ll be very important to them that I’m comfortable. They’re definitely not going to throw me out. And we’re trying to kind of walk a whole half of the island to the settlement on the other side of the island opposite of the docks. We’ll see how we do with that. But I didn’t want to walk up there. No thanks. I want to go around the outside over by the coast if possible and avoid it’s a longer walk, but it’s less hills theoretically. That’s not a good sign. I think this was the person in front of us. We may about be about to run into Hey, no entry spot. [Music] art. Courtesy bus for hotel guests. H. Wonder how much they check that. All right. That guy looks like a local. So, I’m going to keep on walking. Valley Gallery, Art Express. Vaness art site now free shuttle bus. Vaness area bus. It is 854 which is 9 to su 30. Okay. Interesting. planning an escape route if I need one later. But for now, we keep on walking. We keep on walking on now. Looks like an amazing beach over here. I don’t think there’s going to be a a good viewpoint for a minute. So, I’ll show you as soon as there is one. God, the weather is great today. Don’t come in August, everybody. Don’t come in August. Hot. It would be hot t hot. God, I picked a lovely day and a lovely spot. I’m very happy with how this is turning out. I know everybody comes here for the art, but just coming here for the island is just so peaceful. What a beautiful place. Uh, another good sign. Another person walking by. Told you. Gorgeous. Well, everybody, I’d say this looks like a great place for us to end this week’s episode. Next week’s episode, will I find what I’m looking for? Stay tuned. Thanks for all the love and support, everybody. See you then.
