Uma das praias mais bonitas do NORDESTE [TÉNÉRÉ 600 – 1988] – S12/EP18
Hey everyone, Thiago speaking, starting another video for the channel, live here from Canoa Quebrada, in the state of Ceará. Today, we woke up looking at the big, old sea. Look at that. Not bad for a day’s trip, right? Le Cappel must have already gotten up to do his exercises, and the motorcycles are down here. So, today’s goal is to head to a place called Touros, where kilometer 0 of BR-101 is. So, let’s leave from here, it should be approximately 350 km. Let’s head there, to explore another place here on the coast. Look who’s here… Have you done your morning exercise? Are you ready for another 350 km? All set. And the motorcycles are here. There’s even a bug here. Let’s check if there’s any oil leaks… Oh, a little, okay. And that’s it, let’s get things sorted here. Motorcycles ready. Turn on the tap. Then we’ll have to pedal. And it’s so hot, everyone, you have no idea. Beira Mar. We have to have breakfast… which we don’t have here. Take a picture there at the… entrance to the town of Canoa Quebrada. Wait for Le Cappel here in the shade. Oh, God’s beautiful day. Starting this day, asking for God’s protection, to bless the day’s challenges, so we can record some cool content for you and enjoy the trip. Good morning. The cat’s size, “looks” like a jaguar. We found a place for dinner, also on the street behind the main one, Espetinho, it’s cheaper than the restaurants on the main avenue. The main avenue is this one. I’m just going to come in here to take a picture. I have a picture here, with the Sertão, a battle-hardened old lady. … 90, it was a machine too, huh. It’s… a two-stroke, right? Thanks… Recorded, let’s go now, see if we can have breakfast, near Mossoró. It’s 100 km from here. Leaving Canoa Quebrada at 7:24 a.m. on a Tuesday. Taking this opportunity to talk about the channel’s supporters: BNP Seguros Motorcycle Insurance. If you need a quote for your motorcycle, car, home, truck, helicopter, or tractor, talk to Eduardo at BNP Seguros. Vital Card travel insurance. With it, you can travel with peace of mind; it covers several items. You can do so directly through the link in the description and use my discount coupon at the end. All the coupons I have are from Thinoronha, Wolf Attack, and tactical products. I use many of their products on trips: pocket knives, thermoses, suitcases, and bags ; they really help with packing. Alltracks top cases, sturdy trunks… keep our luggage well protected. Look, the fans are already on, a sign that the Earth is already warming. It starts early to cool the Earth throughout the day. If you need motorcycle products, clothing, or protection, go to the Nacar Motorcycle website. They have Shoei helmets, Macna jackets, and TCX boots. And maybe they’ll sell these vests there too. I don’t even know if they already do, so take a look on the website and look for Motorcycle Armor Vest. And finally, if you want to help the channel by becoming a member, as a reward, I’ll make all the videos available in advance to channel members. Also, remember that all my videos are free. This membership option is only available if you want to help the channel. You’ll watch them in advance, and when the release date arrives, they’ll be released to everyone. We ‘ve already reached the access point. That is, we’re leaving the access point, heading to Canoa Quebrada, and we’re heading towards Mossoró. BR 304. And look at all those giant fans. Soon we’ll leave the state of Ceará and enter Rio Grande do Norte. Another state… on this Teneré 600 trip, 1988. My bike’s dashboard already shows 5,790 km. I bought the bike, it turned around with me, in 30 km that I rode, everything was reset, so I can monitor the mileage that I “am” riding on it. And look at the importance of the visor, why I like helmets with visors. Sun in front, face protection. And to help with that dark visor, total comfort. And we’re approaching another state border, Ceará – Rio Grande do Norte. BR 304, km 0. Here I think I can take a picture. Let me see what’s on this side. Welcome to Ceará. I can take two here. Here I can take two photos. There’s Welcome to Ceará and Welcome to Rio Grande do Norte. And kilometer zero, which is cool too. Registration done, we move on. A motorcycle rider will take a picture there. We’re already here in the Mossoró region. 300 km to go to Milestone Zero… in Touros. Milestone Zero of BR 101. Let’s fill up here, see if we can get some breakfast. It’s 8:30 a.m. There’s coffee here. $6.99… Man… We stopped here at the gas station, we already filled up here in Mossoró. And here’s a cafe for breakfast. The motorcycle, both of them, are running low on oil. We’ve been topping up the oil every day, but mechanically, they’re behaving very well. And the plan is to get to João Pessoa, do another oil change, so we can continue on to the Transamazônica. Filling up the bottle here. The water at the gas station here is brackish, the water in the water fountain, undrinkable. The sun is very hot here. Hey, Teneré. Why do you want… to be driven only by foot? It didn’t. Now it’s turned on. Let’s go. Full tank, full belly, full bottle. We’re on the road. We’ll pass here at the Mossoró Metropolitan Arch. We won’t quite enter the city. It’s so nice to ride and the wind is blowing. Estimated arrival in 1 hour, for 300 km. It’s now 9:20, assuming we’ll probably make another stop for fuel. And if the GPS’s route is correct, I believe we’ll arrive around… 2 p.m. That big city profile: as we approach, the road doubles, and in the background, we see the concrete jungle. For those who are curious, we’re traveling on the highways, between 90 and 100 km/h, when it’s a freer road, right? My bike is doing about 16 km/liter. Le Cappel’s is doing 19, but he weighs a little over 70 kilos and I weigh 95. And my luggage is also heavier. And it could also be due to wind drag on the trunks, but the bikes are doing well. Even traveling at 95, there’s enough engine power to overtake, and we’re avoiding going above 100 to avoid overexerting the engine. We’ve already mentioned the problem of blown oil seals. Blown rocker oil seals, which are where a hose is located, supposedly the engine breather. And because these seals are broken, the oil ends up going into the air box. What we did to solve this problem, actually to finish the trip, was to install a part called a flame retardant, from the 1998 Palio. This part is a… it looks like a little gasoline filter, an oil filter, but actually its function is to let air pass through and not oil. This is this hose, which is here on my leg, and this part here. The size of the beast. Gasoline $5.79, man, what a miracle. It was a little after 6, almost 7. Every now and then it’s good to stop, to rest a bit, because here, as I said, it’s very hot and exhausting. Am I lying, Le Cappel? No, it’s hot. It’s hot. You have to stop… Even to give the bikes a refresh, right? The little things are even crying. The funny thing is that his… his drips new oil, oil that hasn’t burned, and mine drips black oil. Okay, we’ve already made a quick stop to rest and refuel the bike, and wow. Yeah, it’s still cute, isn’t it, Tina? And we’ve been… 300… No, 442 km. The forecast was for 1:20 (13:20), 1:30 (13:30), go. It’s great. One thing I’d like to point out is, comparing this bike to the 800, which I usually ride, is that it’s slower. So, a 400 km trip in a day, which with the 800, you do first thing in the morning, I don’t know, arriving around 11, noon, leaving early, with this one, you add an extra hour or two, because its pace is slower, you have to stop more often for fuel, but that’s not a complaint, it’s just a fact. To give you an idea, I imagine the Lander is the same pace as this one. I don’t imagine, it is. Because I’ve traveled with the Lander too. Traveling 1,000 km with the Lander is very difficult, as is traveling with this one. Oh, the little bump. That’s how bad it is. We’re 20 km from our destination, that is, the landmark, I don’t know if there’s a place to stay nearby. Here in Rio Grande do Norte. Passing through a village here. Selling pumpkins. The speed bumps here are unmarked; before you know it, you’re already on top. Look at the dog. Are you sleepy, doggie? It’s the countdown to BR 101, here in Rio Grande do Norte. Here we are. Now we’re going to its Milestone Zero, which is 6 km from here. “Wow,” we, how many thousand kilometers this road doesn’t… it’s unpaved until it reaches, if I’m not mistaken, Rio Grande do Sul. I forgot the name of the city, it’s São José do Norte. And look at this wonderful scene, this pile of dunes here. Look at this beautiful thing of God. Milestone Zero and the “big sea” back there. Look at the color of this sea, folks. Does BR 101 end here, or does it begin? We’re here. It was tiring, but we’re here. After a lot of potholes… here we are. And look at the color of this sea. “Hey there,” the two maidens. What’s up, Le Cappel? Another milestone on the trip, huh? Another milestone. We’ve reached Km 0 of BR-101, at the Marco Zero arch here on Highway 101, in the city of Touros. It’s a victory. And it’s in Rio Grande do Norte. The end… or beginning, if I’m not mistaken, is in São José do Norte, there in Rio Grande do Sul. Well, we’ve already marked Marco Zero here, lol, and now we’re going to the lighthouse. To take a little land route. To see another lighthouse. I like lighthouses. Lighthouses, which were used in navigation. There are some houses here… and the lighthouse there in the background. I don’t even know if there’s access. Brazilian Navy. Well, everyone, we’ve marked the lighthouse here. Now we’ve decided that we’re going to sleep in a place called São Miguel do Gostoso. It must be about 20 km from here. It’s 2:20 AM (2:20 PM)… Stop by. Well, we stopped here to tighten the chain guard… Here at Km 0. It was loose, making a lot of noise. Now, yes, São Miguel do Gostoso is off. Here begins BR 101. Rio Grande do Norte – Rio Grande do Sul. 4,765 km. And look at this spectacular little road, which leads to São Miguel do Gostoso. Brand new asphalt… and lots of beaches; to the right, there’s always an access point that leads to the beach there. It’s now 2:40 in the afternoon. We’ll be at the beach before 3. We plan to sleep. The person who came here was my friend Vantuir Boppre, from the documentaries Caminhos da América (Courts of America). And also from the Big Trail Floripa riding course, which I highly recommend. I did both the course and the Experience, which is a sensational tour through the Santa Catarina mountains. Look at that. Guys, we got here at 2:30 (2:30 PM) and found a restaurant open. My friend said the food was good, right? Good. R$20, self-service… I’ve already made my plate. Oh, what a lovely lunch. Now we’re going to find a place to stay. Go, go. Get out there with your Harley, go. The floor is covered in oil, guys. 1 liter of each. Great… Oh, did you see the video? This is the center of the… town. André, how are you? Nice to meet you. Relaxed. And you? Thank God. Thanks. Guys, we’re going to see the sunset. 7 km from here… There’s a paved part and a dirt part. André, here at the Inn, recommended it. I haven’t experienced the whole riding-without-a-helmet thing, but here, he said it’s okay. And the pavement ends. We’re here, everyone. We left the bikes here, we came from this direction, and here’s Tourinhos beach . I don’t know how the wind picks up the sound… but you can see the color of the sun there on the dunes. Look there. It’s Le Cappel, I want to see us come back, without helmets, at night, on this dirt road. Yeah, so I think we’ll leave a little before sunset. Oh no, it’s already here, man. Can you see at night? I’ll go by… By GPS. So that’s it, everyone, straight from Tourinhos beach, we’re finishing this video here. If you liked it, leave a like. If you’re not subscribed, subscribe. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, @thinoronha and Le Cappel. And stay tuned for the next episodes, because there’s still a lot of cool stuff coming up. We don’t even know where we’ll go tomorrow. But don’t forget to tune in. Sunday, new episode. Thanks, and I’m off…
