Hey guys, welcome to my channel. Today’s adventure I am taking you over to Disney’s Bay Lake Tower to explore. Let’s do it. [Music] Okay, I love Bay Lake Tower because the number one reason to love Bay Lake Tower is because it is the closest proximity to the Magic Kingdom. A there it is. I got cold moving awfully slow today. Very chill chill Montreal. Um, but it is literally steps away from Magic Kingdom. And when I say steps away, I mean it is I’ve clocked it. It’s about a six to seven minute walk from the entrance of Bay Lake Tower to the entrance of Magic Kingdom, which makes it pretty spectacular. Now, Bay Lake Tower is connected to the Contemporary Resort. Old school OG gorgeous lime matches my outfit. Montreal and um is a beautiful, beautiful hotel. Um but these two are sister hotels and basically the restaurants, the contemporary, everything is very accessible between the two. So, I’m starting my adventure today with a little lunch at one of my favorite places on Disney property to have lunch, Steakhouse 71. Let’s do it. [Music] [Music] Heat up here. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Steakhouse 71 is a real go-to for me because if I’m going to the Magic Kingdom, Magic Kingdom food is kind of mid. That’s putting it nicely. Um, so I’ll always want to come to a resort beforehand, maybe have a nice lunch. Steakhouse 71 is just the food is fantastic. Every time I’ve eaten here, I love it. And what’s so nice is you can usually get a reservation, but also they have a huge bar here that you can sit at and order it. It is a smaller menu at the bar, but I just find it lovely. And of course, their most famous thing on the menu is the stack burger. So that’s what I’m getting today. very excited about. So, Steakhouse 71 is located on the bottom level of the Contemporary. So, when you’re staying at Bay Lake Tower, you can either just go out the front door, walk right next door, or they have a little bridge on the fifth level that you can take over here as well. Um, but it is super super easy if you’re staying at Bay Lake to come over, have a little lunch, dinner. They’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And highly recommend it. I’m very excited for the snack burger. Look at this beauty. So, this is the stack burger. It’s a beautiful beef burger with pork belly and ioli, beautiful steak wraps. Beautiful. Oh my gosh, that is gorgeous. And they were nice enough to bring me a bunch of sauces on the side, an aioli, a spicy ranch, and a truffle. Okay, the snack burger. I’m so excited. That is so perfectly cooked. There’s that gorgeous like crispness to the burger itself. The cheese is perfect. The pork belly is amazing. What flavors? I mean, it’s just it’s like the perfect burger in my opinion. I’m In-N-Out Burger from living on the West Coast. This is even better. I’m not kidding. I’m not kidding. And these steak fries are amazing with this truffle aoli. Okay, the food here is so good. If you love burgers, you must come and get the stack burger. Even though it’s two patties, it’s like it just it’s not too filling cuz they’re nice. It’s like a smash burger. It is so absolutely delicious. It’s hands down the best burger I’ve ever had in the area. So, there’s that. Oh my gosh, that meal. I haven’t had that burger in a really long time. And Wow. I mean, there’s no world where I can eat all of it. So, yes, it is a little to go bag. I mean, that is I don’t I mean, for me, I don’t eat burgers a lot, but that is unbeatable. Like, that is a perfect burger in every way. Like, gorgeous. The fries are next level. You must get the steak fruits. They are so good. and ask them for that truffle aioli. Woof, that was delicious. Okay, now going to relax a little bit. Do a little exploring. Okay, so here is where the bus station is. Beautiful Montreal coming out of the Contemporary. Got to love it. Never gets old. So cool. So yeah. So obviously because the Contemporary and the Bay Lake Tower are sisters right next to each other, you’re going to share this with Bay Lake Tower. You certainly don’t need to utilize a bus if you’re going to Magic Kingdom, but uh for all the other ones as well. So there’s the walkway to Magic Kingdom. Like I said, six, seven minutes. Got your own little security entrance, which is nice. Makes things so easy. And here’s your beautiful hotel. Okay, so Bay Lake Tower is a DVC resort, which is so lovely if you’re a DVC member because you really can take advantage of some great deals if you’re lucky. Um, and actually the last time I stayed here, which was pretty incredible, I ended up booking a threebedroom villa with a view of the Magic Kingdom. So, these theme park views obviously are at a higher level in terms of points, in terms of cost. Um, it it is a DVC resort, but it is also, you know, you can book it like a normal person as well if you’re not a DVC member. But yes, this three-bedroom villa was pretty amazing. And honestly, it’s a very big room and it has an unbelievable view. So, I will show that to you right now. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] So, the thing that’s interesting about Bay Lake Tower is, you know, I feel like it seems a little bit more on an adult side of the hotel. Now, obviously the access to Magic Kingdom to me is really what puts it in the mix of like a great resort to stay at if that’s going to be your focus park. But the lack of theming in the rooms, it’s just we’re getting into a little bit sort of generic kind of a Marriott Hilton sort of thing. Doesn’t make you feel like you’re at Disney. So, um, it’s definitely not got that fun, whimsical, fantasylike thing that a lot of the other resorts have, but like I said, if Magic Kingdom is your goal, which it is for a lot of people, you cannot beat the location of this hotel. Um, that’s just all there is to it. I mean, walking distance to Magic Kingdom is as good as you can get if that’s the park that you’re going to go to, which a lot of people do. So, let’s check out the rest of the hotel. So, there is your contemporary behind that tree. [Music] So, the lobby is actually quite small, but it’s very pretty. Um, but you know, it’s not my first choice when I want to feel like I’m in Disney, but it is quite beautiful. I love this. Hi. Thank you. Please. [Music] Hi. So, that is the small lobby. Oh, they’re doing some work. All right. Good. I mean, you just love to see how meticulous and amazing the team is here to take care of every little element of this beautiful land. That’s how it’s done. I love these trees that have their own little like hula hoops around them. All right. Obviously over there you can play some croquet. A nice little like lounging area. Got a little giant chest over there. And here you’ve got some great rooms overlooking the lake on this side. So, this would be on the opposite side of the theme park view. Okay. So, this being a DVC resort, they actually have a special DVC lounge that is um exclusive just to DVC members, which is kind of cool cuz there’s not that many of them in uh all of Walt Disney World. And what’s really nice about this one, it is actually at the top of the tower. It is called Top of the World, I believe. And uh it’s absolutely beautiful. I’ve been up there a while ago and they changed the whole bar to have this spin of villains lair. So, it’s really cool. They’ll have characters come in and out or at least they used to. Um, but there’s all these different touches like the drinks are named after the villains. It looks like Scar has like ripped up the carpet. Like there’s all kinds of these cool twists. So, unfortunately, I am here on a Friday and they do a dessert party, kind of like a dessert party at the Magic Kingdom for DVC members that you can get a reservation and I’m sure it definitely costs money. So, I’m not able to go up there and check it out tonight, but I will come back and do that just so I could show you guys what it’s like cuz it’s really cool. Honestly, I don’t think it’s the absolute best view of the fireworks. I think it doesn’t really compare to how great the one I want to go to tonight is, which is California Corrill. Um, I think that view is incredible. And obviously, you don’t have to make a whole dessert party reservation or whatever. But other than Friday nights, if you’re a DVC member, I’m not quite sure. They weren’t quite sure if you had to make a reservation all the time or you could just actually pop up there as a DVC member and just check it out. The view up there is absolutely fantastic, as you can imagine. The 16th floor up here is great. They’ve got a little bar menu and obviously food and drinks. So, it’s quite lovely for DVC members. Um, which is really what this place is catering to. But again, that proximity to Magic Kingdom doesn’t get any better. So, let’s check out the pool. This is the pool area. As you can see, it’s very popular today. Pretty small. um you know for what it is but um it’s quite lovely. I love the little slide there. That is so cute. And obviously gorgeous view overlooking the lake. Very comfortable. Let’s go check out the pool bar. Yeah. I mean this is about it. Looks like there’s a little splash pad or no, just a little tiny slide over there. Got your your beach chairs and such. And here is the little bar or like the hot tub view over there is nice. Got the cove bar. Let’s check out the cove bar. Look at this lovely little nook I found here with a gorgeous view. What looks like a fire pit. No seats over here, but a nice little bench. Okay, so here I am just relaxing in the jungle. Um, now I’m just sort of um just relaxing for a moment and taking it all in here at the cove bar and at the pool. This is a lovely lovely area. You know, it’s it’s again, it’s just one of those things where if you’re like me and you think of your Walt Disney World vacation, it’s going to I I kind of want it from beginning to end to involve that fantasy, that whimsy, that you know, the magic basically within the hotel room even, especially if I’m booking on Walt Disney World Resort. Um, this is not an inexpensive hotel. This is definitely a deluxe hotel and it gets even more deluxe if you could imagine when uh when you have a theme park view. Um, now I do believe the theme park view is really, really wonderful. And I mean to be able to watch the fireworks from your room and just see the park when you wake up in the morning is such an amazing epic experience that um you know it it’s definitely one of those things that is a really great perk of staying here. But again, it’s kind of on that sort of midlevel thing cuz there’s just no it’s just not that fun. It’s a little generic. It’s a little, you know, the pool is quite small. There’s not a lot to it. So, but what is the saving grace is the fact that it is so close to the Contemporary. So, we’re going to kind of bop over there. I’m going to show you one of my favorite gift shops in all of Disney, which is at the Contemporary. The Contemporary has the restaurants, the bars, all the things. So, and it actually houses two of the best restaurants in all of the Walt Disney World resorts, which is Steakhouse 71, which I just had my lunch in, and of course, California Grill, which is an iconic staple for dinner and is only open for dinner and an unbelievable place to watch the fireworks. So, I am going to head over to the Contemporary, the Sister Hotel, and check out the shops. Let’s do it. Okay, so there is the Bay Lake pool and the tower. And then here is the little walkway to go right over to the Contemporary. Now, as you can see right there, there are the boats lined up, those pontoon boats, which you can rent. You can actually go fishing, which is really cool. Look at this room. It looks awesome. Hi, These are kind of great. So Bay Lake being a sister with the Contemporary can utilize all the things over here at the Contemporary. As you can see, it’s just a nice short walk. So there is the Skybridge, which again is on level five. So, if you just take the elevator, you can get access that way that goes right to the floor that has all the bars and restaurants and whatnot. We’re going to go in this back way. Other way, there’s a fun little hidden Mickey and the flowers over there. Beautiful. So, yeah, we’re just making our way to the main lobby at the Contemporary. So, here is a temporary pool is over there. They’ve got a little slide, too. Again, kind of a small pool by resort, Disney resort standards. Got a little hidden Mickey there. Little hidden Mickey photo op and sandbar. So, we’re going to head in. Check out the shops. Let’s do a little shopping. Now, I believe the Contemporary Gift Shop, for whatever reason, is truly one of the best gift shops in all of the kingdom. Um, I don’t know why. I just feel like they always have the best stuff. They always have the newest stuff, and it’s nice and big, but it’s never like too crazy crowded. So, let’s go check it out. I love this. So cool. So, we’ve come to super take one and we’re just going to head right upstairs. So, this is the convention level. They have all the convention rooms, and it’s also where we’re going to go back to uh see if we can get into California Grill Lounge tonight. Um, fun fact, this is that one of those convention rooms is where president at the time, Richard Nixon, said the famous I am not a crook speech. I just love that piece of trivia. And here we are at Buena Vista Gifts, otherwise known as BDG, still in Halloween time. I was just over at the character warehouse and things are already on sale. So now I’ve got sale on the brain. I love this home collection. Great colors. Very subtle if you want to add some magic into your home decor. These are really cool. I hope they make these in other characters. I mean, it’s a lot. It’s definitely alive. So, what’s nice is like these are all the usual suspects from the Disney Store and from the park. But they just have a really good selection. So cute. Have one of these fabulous kiosk. They have one at the Polynesian as well. Um and probably other resorts, but I’ve seen it there for sure, which you can pick your own poster. The Oh my gosh, the stuff they have is so cool. I’m so tempted. You can get it framed. You can just get it rolled up, but it’s really, really cool stuff. It’s just fun to just kind of look at it all. I mean, like just this alone is amazing. These are really cool. Very Mary Blair, obviously. Contemporary. Wow, isn’t that great from up? All right, here is the Stony Clover Lane, which I absolutely love Stony Clover Lane. I own tons of their stuff. These bags are really cute, but I feel like I’m seeing them everywhere and I don’t ever see them disappear. It’s probably because this little bag is 165. That’s a little outrageous, not going to lie. Um, but absolutely adorable. Interesting. Disney Character Warehouse. Will it happen? This is a cute little line. Baby blue, of course. Good old Doneyian and Burke. Got some Loungeflies here. Love that Loungefly has now done. I mean, look at this cute purse. So contemporary is the Incredibles. And I love that they have their own Loungefly situation. They even of course have jewelry here which is always big trouble. [Music] I think Roosevelt’s very cool. It’s nice is they have some actually regular clothes in here. They’re kind of cute. This dress is cute. I always think of it as you lost your luggage clothes, but that’s really cute. Actually, only some of these saddle lines. This is kind of cool. This is very old school. Reminds me of something Chevy would wear in vacation in 1983. Again, if you bought too much merch, which is the greatest problem to have, you can take it home in a brand new suitcase. Very cute. Really reminds me of like Benaton. Not a ton of contemporary merch. They’ve got the robe, which is awesome. And then this is actually a really nice little top. Kind of classic and understated. I like it. Little Yes. Oh, look at this. That’s nice. Yeah, this is that’s the extent of the contemporary stuff. Check out. So then there’s actually another one that’s like more games and things which is cool. And a billion pins. You’re into pins. This is a great place to come. Look at this pin. What? Lots of shirts. Oh, that’s lots of Hey. Hey. Always looking cray cray. It’s a great place to come if you’re going to start your pin obsession. They’ve got all the lanyards and the pin purses and oh gosh, it’s a whole thing. It’s a whole thing. No capes. See lots of toys in here, which is fun. Here it is. The famous famous Mary Blair Wall of the Contemporary. Been here since 1971, since the park opened. Super cool. So, up here on this floor, you’ve got the gift shop. Then you’ve got Contempo Cafe which is a very casual place like quick service for burgers and things. Chef Mickey’s is character dining. Um I think they do breakfast and dinner. I don’t think they do lunch. And then here is the outer rim the space age bar which is extremely popular right now. So let’s check it out. So, here is your nice little outer rim bar, just super chill, which is nice. Here we are looking at oo the new tower built over there for wilderness. I cannot wait. The room that I had room right on the water. I love it. [Music] So pretty as the sun starts to set on Bay Lake in the Contemporary. Here’s the pool. So, this pool is slightly bigger. It’s got a nice um kids water play, water pad, what is it called? It’s got a nice kids splash pad. Sorry, I don’t partake it in the water splash pad. I love these rooms over here. So, those are the bungalows. I actually stayed there one time. They’re these rooms that are on this like threele bungalow. They’re overlooking um this area here, the pool, but they’re also overlooking the lake. And they are kind of the unsung hero in my opinion of the contemporary. So cute little splash pad. Got your slide. Again, not a huge pool comparing some other resorts like, you know, the yacht and beach club, but there’s your slide. There’s your pool. Lovely. [Music] Love this view of overlooking the lake. And there is that freaking look at that tower. I’m so excited. Okay, that is an enormous fly or whatever. But that that is large. Oh, Florida and their crazy insects creatures. Oh, the weather is so nice right now. But yeah, you know, it’s like I feel like there’s the sandbar over there. Got the Cove Bar, the Bay Lake Sandbar right here. You know, it’s just not the most epic theming. But, you know, you get really spoiled at Disney cuz there’s a lot of epic theming going on here. So cute. Well, I am just luxuriated by the ginormous chuckers. This is lovely. Actually, these chairs are really comfortable. I sat down, I was like, “Oh, I might be here for a moment.” Um, so yes, Bay Lake Tower again in terms of the biggest benefits are that location. Obviously, if you have little ones and your focus is going to be on the Magic Kingdom, which makes perfect sense, that’s a really, really great option, especially because you can come and go. It feels very chill as well. It’s a totally different vibe than say the Polynesian. You know, I love the Polynesian, those bungalow rooms. If you haven’t seen my bucket list rooms, go check that out. I stayed at the bungalow a few times and uh oh my gosh the bungalows there on the water are amazing. But the thing that I’ve been seeing with the Polynesian over the last few many years is that it is so crowded. It is so chaotic. It’s such an unbelievably popular resort and it’s still on that smaller side. like, you know, all of these kind of old school um hotels with the exception of the Grand Fian around here um have these smaller pool areas, so they really get packed up. But this is very chill. I feel like Bay Lake Tower to me is a little bit more adult, a little bit more chill. Obviously, the theming is very subtle is the nice word. I don’t want to say, you know, it’s just generic. It’s not like I don’t know. But apparently, I just read today those rooms just got a nice reverb. Um, I believe they did a little bit more theming, a little bit more like sort of park castle theme. Um, you know, it’s still that that sort of very modern, clean aesthetic, but um, you know, it just doesn’t compare to like a yacht and beach club, a Grand Fian with all of those elegant classic touches. It’s a lot more modern. It’s almost, dare I say, sterile a little bit, but again, can’t beat that location. So, it’s not at the top of my list for places to stay, but it is very high on my list if I was going to tell you some of the resorts that have the best restaurants. Now, the access to the Contemporary Steakhouse 71, California Grill, both phenomenal choices. I love the casualness of Steakhouse 71. Being able to waltz in, just eat at the bar, eat in that little lounge area. The food is phenomenal. I’m going to dream about that burger. I didn’t need to know how good that was. I don’t remember it being that good the last time. It’s insane. Like, get over here if you want a great burger. Wow. Um, I’m impressed. And those steak fries, I’m still full. So, um, so yeah. So, I’m going to toodle upstairs, see if I can get myself into the gorgeous California Grill Lounge, one of my favorite places on property, and uh continue my Bay Lake Tower adventure. Uh like I said, Bay Lake doesn’t have any restaurants, doesn’t have any bars. It does have that DVC lounge, but it’s kind of a little squirrely. Every time I pop over there, being a DVC member, there’s always some like weird thing of like how to get in, how not to get in. I don’t know. I’m not like a bar lounge late night person anyway. So, um I’ve done it once. It’s kind of okay. Uh I prefer California Grill better. Um especially because of the food. So, let’s go check it out. All right. So, I’m going to California Grill. You’re going to come right here and check in. And then when your table is ready, they’re going to put you on the elevator, which is lovely. So now, California Grill is extremely popular, as you can imagine, especially on like Friday or Saturday night or during the holidays, um, but I’ve always found if it’s just me and or me and my fiance, like if you just want to come to the lounge, um, you can order the entire menu at the lounge. Now, the lounge is very small. I’ll show it to you. It’s probably maybe 12 15 shares. So, it does get sold out. But I find I find if I’m here right at opening, which they open at 5:00, I can usually get in. So, which is nice cuz then you kind of have it very chill and lovely. It is a prefix, a three course prefix in the regular restaurant. Um, I’ll give you that price when I get up there. But, um, it’s kind of another thing I like about the lounge. It is not prefix at the lounge. You can order all a cart which is really nice. So, uh it’s kind of my favorite seat anyway. All right, here we are. Thank you. Hi. Have you had a nice day so far? Oh, yes. What a nice way to end it. Yes. Amazing. Oh, it smells so good by the way. Smell amazing, doesn’t it? Oh my gosh, look at this view. It never gets old. They’ll get better here. Yes. Awesome. Thank you so much. I love it when this place is empty. Look how beautiful. All right. Have fun. So, there’s a special bar menu up here, which is awesome. And this is where you’re going to find the famous short rib wanttons. I I usually get those, but I’m not that hungry thanks to my burger. So, I think I might just get some sushi. This is my favorite. I think I’m going to get that one. I mean, truthfully, this is one of the most gorgeous views as you can see. So once the sun sets, that’s the only other problem with coming early. They put these down because the sun gets very bright in here. But this is truly We’ll go outside and take a look. This is truly one of the most spectacular views. But yeah, just so you know, if you do have an early reservation, unfortunately, these things are going to be down. I’ve kind of asked him about that before and it’s just a thing. So, they do have them down, but uh but they have walkways out that way, out that way, in the back. There’s four different walkways, which is wonderful um to see all around this epic, epic view. So, restaurant is quickly filling up. Let’s go check out the view back here. I think I can go out this way. Oh, wait. Maybe it’s not open this. Oh, the deck is closed. Okay. So, you can see kind of walk over there, but amazing view over there. And then there’s like a private room over there, which is nice. Here you have your Oh, wow. Nice kitchen. Spicy. Oh my god. Have the sushi. Oh, that yellow looks amazing. All right, we’ll go out to the other deck. I think that one’s closed, too. I don’t know why they’re all closed. Gorgeous one. So, the restrooms are back here. So, is the deck. [Music] Okay, good. This one’s open. It’s funny. This one is usually open. So, this is the back one. [Music] Greatest view ever. [Music] Oh, look at this view. I mean it is it is it is unbeatable honestly. Ah look at the boats you can see for miles. Look at that construction. Wow. That’s really cool. Oh there’s your there’s your golf ball. So, these two are the best places to watch the fireworks in my opinion. Here you got your Bay Lake Tower. I mean, look at those rooms. So wonderful overlooking the most magical place on earth. So, and as you can tell, they’re pumping in the jams, which is lovely. Um, and of course when the fireworks happen, whether or not it’s seasonal, a party firework, or just happily ever after every night, uh, they pump in the music, which is so, so wonderful. There you go. So, as you can clearly see, Bay Lake Tower has one of the most phenomenal views of the Magic Kingdom. And what could be more glorious? But I do say I love watching the fireworks up here, especially because they really pump up the music. It is so spectacular. You can grab a drink from the bar. Now, you can come up here to watch the fireworks if you’ve had dinner here or even drinks earlier. So, for instance, I’m here at 5:00. I’m clearly not going to stay until 10:00. And um and basically what’s so cool is that if you just bring your receipt back a little later if you want to come back for the fireworks, they just let you ride upstairs. So that’s really nice. But yeah, I mean I have seen the fireworks up here many I’ve seen the fireworks up here many times and it is absolutely wonderful. So highly recommend it. Even if you are staying at Bay Lake, obviously you got one of those rooms looking over, you’re going to see that as well. Here is my Kazan roll crab with tuna really spicy sauce and so crunchy. All right, the kazan roll. Let’s see how it is. That is so good. So spicy. Spicy. I got the sauce on the side. We’ll go like olive oil, so it stays nice and fresh. Doesn’t get too soggy by the sauce is spicy. This is creamy spicy mayo. It’s really spicy. I love it. I love it. Um, this is a great roll. It’s a very, very good sushi. Very fresh. I love the crunchies that they put on top. The sauce usually comes on the sauce with like the crunchies over it. So, it’s quite lovely. It is a little pricey. It’s $29. $29 for a sushi roll. It’s pretty pricey, but when you’re in this atmosphere, kind of give it up. Look at me. Me with my little sushi baby here. I’ve got half a sandwich. Got some sushi. Loving it. Honestly, those are two great staples. They are so solid in terms of their restaurants here. Um, which is really a nice thing. And honestly, it makes it really great for Bay Lake Tower. Even though they don’t have their own, you’re just a few steps away from some of the greatest restaurants in all of Walt Disney World. So, I highly recommend at least trying one of them while you’re here. So, I had a great time exploring Bay Lake Tower today. And um I had a wonderful time.
