Kyoto Travel – Shrines, Nintendo Store, Pokemon Center, Floating Torii Gate
Kyoto Travel. Kyoto. Hello from Kyoto. We’re taking a tour today. which departs near Kyoto Station. Our tour guide speaks Chinese and English. We’re driving by the famous Kamo River in Kyoto. I booked this tour on Klook. You can use code ADOBORAMENKLOOK for a discount., Driving in Japan is not something I prefer to do so riding a tour bus is more relaxing for me. I chose this tour because I love being in the Japanese countryside. We’re now in Ohara, Kyoto. Obama? We’re going to the Sanzen-in Temple. Such a cute little town. 🥰 I already feel calm. ☺️ There are quaint little stores along the way. Autumn in Kyoto is magical. The walk is uphill so it took our urban behinds awhile to get to the top. 😆 📍Sanzen-in Temple. A few personal issues inside. Instead, we’re going to a nearby restaurant. A real matcha that’s NOT made by an amateur like me. 🥰 mochi with kinako (roasted soybean powder). udon & onigiri.🍙 Heading back to the bus. I feel like a princess. the prettiest mulch. 🍁 It’s so pretty I could cry. 😿 Got some pickled cakes. going to another beautiful spot. Many of the houses I see seem traditional. Here at the next stop. We’re now in Takashima, Shiga Prefecture. 📍Shirahige Shrine. The beautiful floating torii gate in Lake Biwa. Lake Biwa is the largest lake in Japan and is believed to be over 4 million years old. We’re only here for a short time. Back to the tour bus. “so many duck… but nobody eating” Going to the next stop in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture. Have to walk fast as we’re only given 30 minutes. 🤯 Approaching the Sanmon Gate which is a 2-story gate and is a registered cultural property. Make sure to bring cash for the entrance fee. 📍Mangetsu-ji Temple Uki-midō (Floating Hall). The bonsai are gorgeous. Ukimi-do Hall is part of a Zen temple called
Mangetsu-ji. Originally built around 995 A.D.,
Ukimi-do Hall was rebuilt in 1937. It’s considered 1 of the 8 scenic spots of Omi (now known as Shiga). It’s easy to see why many Japanese artists were inspired by this place. There’s a Kannon Hall here, which contains a statue of Kannon (Quan Yin) who is revered as the goddess of mercy and compassion. I wish we had more time but we have to rush back to the bus. 😅 Lake Biwa is stunning. I’d love to stay near Lake Biwa if we come back. I’m happy to have been able to
experience a new prefecture with my daughter. 📍La Collina Ōmi-Hachiman. Water falling down from the roof. There were baked goods for sale. I wish the itinerary didn’t include this part so we could spend more time at the other places. Heading back to Kyoto now… 📍DoubleTree Kyoto Station Hotel. It’s about 6 minutes away from the station but with bags and a kid it feels like forever. Bathroom. Tub. Good morning from Kyoto. Kyoto Avanti. Across from Kyoto Station. A cold day in Kyoto. Mid 40 degrees Farenheit. 📍Don Quijote – Kyoto Avanti. Couldn’t find my gloves. I look very attractive when I sleep. Mini heat packs. 199 yen. Feet ones are so nice. For parents and caretakers out there They have a baby section here. Peach KitKat. There are many food options here on B1. 📍Oraga Soba – Kyoto Avanti. This is the ATM I use in Japan. It’s December 14th. The autumn foliage was a little late because of the weather. The warm weather this year. We’re finally here. We came just right in time. There’s a hotel here. Hotel Keihan Kyoto Grand. We’re gonna explore Kyoto today. We’re gonna go to the Pokemon Center and Nintendo Store. And see a few shines. Kyoto Station. Off to the shrine we go. 📍Fushimi Inari Taisha. I haven’t been here in 19 years. I don’t really remember. Little girl’s first time in Kyoto. Taking a break. Fushimi Inari is the most important shrine dedicated to Inari. Fushimi Inari Taisha’s deity is described as
“a deity who feeds, clothes and houses us and protects us so that all of us may live with abundance and pleasure”. Foxes are said to be sacred messengers of Inari. In 2011, they celebrated the 1300th anniversary of the shrine’s establishment. 1300 years!!!! Mommy’s car. It’s less crowded if you go up further. taking the bus to Kyoto’s Kawaramachi area. Don’t ride the bus in Kyoto. Some buses are so packed. earlier… Nintendo Store. Are you ready to go to the Nintendo Store? It’s so big. There’s a Mandarake here. That’s also a hobby store. The Nintendo Store is on the 7th floor. There’s a Mandarake on the 4th floor. A record store. Nintendo Store. Nintendo Kyoto is not eligible for tax-free shopping. Pillow. Jacket. Peach hat. Who’s that? Donkey Kong. This is so cool. 1,925 yen. Cardigan. 9,460 yen. It looks like this. There’s stuff on the ceiling. And there’s more behind us. We gotta get those. That’s what’s inside. I wish they have it in black. At the rooftop, they have this. We have to go. I’m still confused that red means a vacant taxi. Taking a short cab ride to the Pokemon Center. It’s on the 2nd floor. Pokemon Center Kyoto. Look at Pikachu. Kimono. So cute. Look, Pikachu. That’s cool. Pikachu’s wearing a Christmas hat. There’s a signature right there. Look. An omamori? This is so cute. You can make your own keychain. Pokémon Pasta. Are these Pokecoins? The top is cool, too. There’s an unown here. The details! Washi paper on glass. Bus stop line tonight. Kyoto Tower at night. Back at the hotel. Thank you for watching our Kyoto vlog. Sending you peace, love, abundance and joy. 💕

Kyoto, Japan – I’m back! Excited to create travel videos again. Thank you for watching another Japan travel vlog. Let’s explore Kyoto – the Japanese city known for picturesque temples and shrines and for shopping at famous Japanese stores like Pokemon Center Kyoto and Nintendo Store Kyoto. Did you know Nintendo originated in Kyoto in 1889? In this video were able to see unique sites in the Japanese countryside like the Sanzen-in Temple, Shirahige Shrine and Ukimi-do. Kyoto is a unique travel destination in Japan where you can truly “eat, pray, love.” Just don’t take the Kyoto city bus because there’s definitely no “eat, pray, love” happening there. LOL

Nintendo started in Kyoto in 1889 making playing cards—and now they’re responsible for us losing hours chasing mushrooms. 🍄
