【新潟観光】佐渡島旅行で佐渡金山を観光しました!世界遺産|宗太夫坑|道遊坑|道遊の割戸

The scenery is like a dungeon from another world. Even in midsummer, it gets as cold as 10 degrees inside. Registered as a World Heritage Site in July 2024. A gold bar worth 200 million yen is extremely heavy. Enjoy sightseeing with the feeling of an adventure , as if you were walking through the world of a game . Good morning! Hello, this is bien. I’m currently on Sado Island, and today’s sightseeing destination is Sado Kinzan. I’d like to introduce you to an actual sightseeing experience. Be sure to watch until the end ! Wow, what a beautiful view! Good morning ! It’s my second day on Sado Island. It’s sunny since morning, which is great! My first stop this morning is Sado Kinzan. It ‘s called the gold mine cave. It’s apparently quite cold inside, around 10 degrees all year round, so it’s about 30 degrees right now, and if it drops by 20 degrees, it’s going to be really cold! What a beautiful view! From here , I’ll drive along the coast for a while and then I’ll be at Kinzan. It’s different when the weather’s nice, it ‘s amazing! I’ll head on this route from the hotel where I’m staying , and it feels like I’m heading into the mountains. It ‘s about 6km to Sado Kinzan , and the contrast of green is nice. Beautiful scenery. I’m 1.5km away, and there are significantly fewer cars. The road is much wider and driving is quite easy , but from here on , the lanes no longer divide. The atmosphere has suddenly changed. What’s that? A cave? No entry into the tunnel , it’s really scary, and apparently there’s a parking lot 700 meters away from that tunnel. This is the third parking lot. On weekends and other busy days, you can park here and walk. Apparently you can enter from 8am, and it’s 8:15am, but I’m not sure if it ‘s crowded with people going to the gold mine or something else. Maybe this is just an employee-only parking lot, but it’s quite a long way from the first parking lot to the third, and it must be quite difficult if you can’t park . This is really open, we’ve arrived. The first parking lot looks like it can accommodate quite a lot of cars, and there are toilets and tours available, but this time we’re going to take the standard tour, probably about 60 minutes. So, let ‘s go, Sado Island is huge. 帰りました。 English: Looking at it this way, today we will mainly be sightseeing on the west side. By the way, yesterday we toured the south side, so please do take a look at yesterday’s video as well. The parking lot is quite large and it is only a 1-2 minute walk to the entrance to the mine. Sado Gold Mine can also be accessed by bus. The timetable looks like this. If you are coming to Sado Island, I think it would be safer to rent a car. Sado Silver Mine is open from 8am to 5:30pm with the last entrance at 4pm. There is also an Island Mirage where you can sightsee while wearing smart glasses. The general sightseeing course is this. It costs 1,500 yen per adult and 3,000 yen for two people. We purchased a ticket and headed straight away. It seems you can see both courses with one ticket. We hand over our ticket here and enter. It’s a pretty exciting entrance, isn’t it? It tickles your masculinity. With this ticket you can see two courses. The one on the right is hand-mined mining from the Edo period, and the one on the left is machine-mined mining from the Meiji period onwards. You can see the broken mountain on the left. Either start is fine. After you have seen one, go back and re-enter this way. A ticket is required then too. Was it colder here? Both seem to be cold. The darker areas are cold. The right course is 30 minutes, and the left course is 40 minutes. It’s definitely cold already . It’s amazing how quickly the temperature has dropped. If we go a little further, it will be like this. By the way , Sado Gold Mine was the largest gold mine in Japan during the Edo period . What’s amazing is that gold was produced over such a long period of time using only human labor .り出しています。また若者たちの働く場でもあります。 English: It seems that overseas gold production was already being carried out using machinery. At the time, Japan was closed to the outside world and was restricted in its ability to introduce technology from overseas. As a result, they devised work processes and developed a system to extract gold efficiently in order to extract as much high-quality gold as possible. In this area, the ruins of the mines and the ruins of the towns where the people lived remain in very good condition, and gold mines like these are rare even in the world and are said to be valuable. This value was recognized and finally, in July 2024, the Sado Gold Mine was registered as a World Heritage Site. It seems that gold is made into oval coins through five main processes. This is a list of job titles and organizational structure. There were quite detailed job titles even back then. This is the method of gold extraction. Gold has a specific gravity that is about 20 times that of water, so the gold particles are sifted out of the sediment in water and extracted. This is called itadori, a work process, and the tools used. It’s supposed to be 10 degrees, but isn’t it colder than I thought ? It’s cold. It’s cold here, so that’s what it was like. The tunnels of the Sado Gold Mine reached below sea level less than 100 years after the mine opened. As the tunnels got deeper, the amount of groundwater increased and the struggle with water affected the amount of gold extracted. Does this mean the water will come out, or will it go up? Mining inside the mine was a constant battle against water, and drainage was the most important task in the mine. In 1653, water wheels were introduced, and drainage became more efficient. Amazing, there’s one over there too. I thought there would only be documents and exhibition panels in the mine, but it’s like this, there are very realistic dolls on display. Amazing, a lot of money has been thrown in here. There was also an exhibition of the retaining wall carpenters here. The bedrock of the Sado Gold Mine is hard, but Naturally, there were some areas that were prone to collapse, so they used supports called mountain retaining posts like this to prevent collapses. It was so amazing, so realistic. There were checkpoints at the entrances and exits of the mine to prevent unauthorized removal and to record the comings and goings of people passing through. It was apparently a method of efficiently producing gold to use as a guide for wage payments, as well as a system for managing workers and paying wages . It will gradually rise from here, so I wonder if the temperature will rise again. The previous place was the coldest , but it was bearable with a short-sleeved T-shirt and a thin hoodie, so if you get cold easily, a jacket or coat might be fine. We walked along a path that was like a dungeon. The path was well maintained and very easy to walk on. You can get a sense of adventure here. Water that springs up underground is carried horizontally in buckets, uphill using water wheels, vertically using buckets, and on flat surfaces using buckets like this to carry it outside the mine. Mining work is done in four-hour shifts, and unlike other mine workers, gold mining carpenters were given preferential treatment as engineers. Scenes of them eating and resting inside the mine are reproduced very realistically. Homeless people from various regions have been sent to Sado Gold Mine for about 90 years, and the number is said to be around 2,000. This narrow tunnel is called Tanuki-ana and is a little scary, isn’t it? There was an exhibition of gold mining carpenters here. They apparently use an Uedabashi hammer to strike a chisel, and by the way, one of these chisels is used up every two days. It’s a little scary. Only the head moves, so I was surprised for a moment. Now this is the makiri . The excavated makiri is inspected to make sure it is according to the order. This inspection is called makiri-agari . Amazing! It’s amazing how they’ve recreated so much detail with dolls and such, even in the depths. And I was so surprised! When I looked up, I was here too! I wonder if all the roads I’ve been on so far were dug by hand (as they were back then?) I wonder if I’ll go outside once I get through here. It was cold, but the temperature rises again all at once when I get around here. Wow, it’s amazing ! A celebration of the opening of the shrine. Celebrating goodness. The opening of the shrine is just about to begin. I wonder if we’ll go around from here . This is the place I passed by in my car. From here is the exhibition museum . This is the exhibition museum. An hour may not be enough. It’s amazing that they charge money, but it’s also great that they charge for labor. It’s amazing that they were able to create this system. I imagine that if you work in a place that doesn’t get much sunlight for a long time, a lot of people will gradually become mentally ill . If you come first thing on a weekday morning, you can take your time sightseeing like this. It ‘s amazing, but these models, or rather, there are more of these models on display than I expected, and they’re very easy to understand. It ‘s amazing how easy it is to understand at a glance what they were like . The details are written in text like this, so it’s enjoyable for both those who just want to get a general idea of the atmosphere and those who want to read the text carefully and understand. If you go downstairs, there’s a shop and toilets, and the route is to the right. There’s 200 million yen worth of gold?! Oh, not this, this is the real 200 million yen. It’s okay to touch it inside the case. Wow, it ‘s really heavy, really heavy, so heavy, the current market value is over 200 million yen , which I calculate at 16,000 yen per gram, so this is 12.5kg. 12kg, it’s so heavy, wow, what’s going on here? Does it have lights built in? I wonder what time it is now. It starts around 8:15 and it’s already been 45 minutes, maybe 50 minutes? It gets really crowded after 9 o’clock. Maybe there’s a bus or something, so I should go back to the reception and take the course on the left. Is this the Minakami Ring from earlier? There are two great courses heading this way , you can do both courses for 1500 yen, and if you’re going to come anyway, I think you might as well see both. In that case, it might be better to see both hours, about an hour and a half to two hours . This is amazing , I’m back again , so next time I’ll go around from the left. I feel like I’m going to hit my head hard , but it feels colder this way! Oh wow, wow, this road is a dungeon! It continues on in a really straight line. Is this really , is it simply a long distance ? Wow, it’s pretty cold! I’m already walking quickly to warm myself up as I go. In the Edo period, mining was only done by hand, but in the Meiji period, modern Western technology was introduced to efficiently mine the gold and silver veins that spread deep underground. Ah, there are elevators and apparently Wi-Fi too ! This feels colder. The scenery is like a game course or a dungeon. Maybe the previous route wasn’t so cold. In the Meiji period, Western technology was introduced and the atmosphere is completely different to the Edo period mine tunnels that we visited earlier. Ah, so this is right below here? The Doyu Mine was opened in 1899 and mining began in this area directly below . Apparently, light used to shine from the middle of the mountain. It makes me want to run a bit. It’s so cold that it’s best to come as if it’s winter. If you want to take your time and see it, you might want to bring a down jacket or a thick jacket. This is Mamiana (raccoon hole) . So this is how they dug it?! So, is this the exit ? Homeless Rest Area. Wow , no matter how many times I see it, it’s amazing. It’s really rare to be able to walk through places like this . Can mines be preserved forever ? Are they preserved forever? Are there any worries about them collapsing? I’ve seen everything so far, so I’m heading for the exit . I’m walking straight ahead. Finally, I’m outside. I can see the light outside . It’s still cold, even up to the very edge of the exit. Ah, it finally got hot here. Wow , it says here. A really cold wind is blowing from inside. Ah, so if you walk 350 meters to the left , you’ll see a split door. It’s quite a walk. No, no, it’s 150 meters from here . Head to the exit without going outside . If you’re in a hurry, please go through. Only passable in rainy weather. There are a lot of exhibits, so an hour won’t be enough, lol. I ‘ll just keep going. If you go further in, you’ll find a Warito. I wonder what it is? This open feeling outside is amazing. Looking back from here, it’s a spectacular spot. Doyu no Warito looks so huge when you look at it like this . I’m so glad it was sunny. There’s more to see than I imagined , with lots of exhibits and a wealth of information . It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to walk, so if you think you can see everything in 10 or 20 minutes, it might feel a bit tiring. If you don’t come here with the intention of sightseeing thoroughly , it can get quite cold . Is it like going inside, or passing through this to get to the exit? It might not be as cold as before . It’s 57 meters to the exit via the shop. And oh my goodness , that was Sado Gold Mine! Gold Mine was great, it was amazing, there was really a lot to see ! Next, I’m going to eat sushi. After eating sushi, I’ll come back to this area and do some sightseeing. I’ll tour the western area (Aikawa area). Please subscribe to my channel and rate it highly. Please watch the next video. Thank you for watching.
