it’s no secret that Japan has issues with over tourism but that’s not the case across the whole country there are actually quite a few spots that are hidden gems like the kiso valley in the prefectures of kfu and Nagano in the kiso valley you will find ancient post towns these are the towns where Travelers who used to hike the nakasendo highway from Tokyo to Kyoto would stop to rest the most famous are maguku Tumo Juku and naray Juku and even though they’re the most famous and popular as you can see from these videos there are very few people here exploring these ancient post towns really feels like stepping back in time and it’s a breath of fresh air from the big crowds of Tokyo Kyoto and Asaka [Music]
Japan has an issue with overtourism, but that’s not the case everywhere across the country. If you head to the Kiso Valley, especially the towns of Magome-juku, Narai-juku and Tsumago-juku, you will find perfectly preserved ancient towns, without the massive tourist crowds!
