Summer in Jeju Island is so beautiful you don’t want to blink. Our family self-drives 99% of the time when we travel abroad because it’s convenient and flexible. We can also travel easily with kids and elders. During this 4-day, 3-night Jeju trip, we visited many places. We’ve specially selected a few spots perfect for a three-generation trip. I’ll share everything, starting from renting a car, and I’ll also show you the small details to pay attention to when self-driving in Jeju. Besides the must-visit hidden gems, I also discovered a little secret. Although everyone says eating out in Jeju is expensive, ordering seafood is actually the best value. There’s even a local buffet that not even all Koreans know about. All-you-can-eat marinated raw crab, boiled pork slices, and cutlassfish. It’s only about 250 NTD per person. These places are so beautiful that even some locals might not know them. In this episode, I’ll share them all with you. I guarantee you’ll want to book a flight right after watching. Hello, we’ve arrived at Jeju Island. In this episode, we’ll start with renting a car, share the complete rental process, and also what you should know about self-driving in Jeju. For independent travel in Jeju, renting a car is definitely the best and most convenient option. This time, we booked with Lotte Rent-a-Car, the number one in Korea. Right now, we’re heading out from Exit 5 to take the shuttle bus to the rental center. If you encounter any problems with car rental, there’s actually a Lotte service desk inside the airport. You can go and ask them directly. Our family always travels with three generations together. Traveling with elders and kids, plus dragging a lot of luggage, so when it comes to transportation, I don’t want to make things difficult for myself anymore. This time, we booked through the Lotte Rent-a-Car website. It was booked on there. Besides Korean, it also supports Chinese, so it’s very easy to use. There was nothing I couldn’t understand. After booking, remember to check your email for the confirmation letter. It will have all the detailed rental information, which you’ll need when you pick up the car. Just select the time, location, and car model, and it will show the price directly on the screen. And it directly includes the price for full coverage insurance, which is very clear. Then, you just fill in your personal information, and the booking is complete. It’s really simple. Mommy, Mommy! It’s Tayo! The Lotte Rent-a-Car shuttle bus is easy to spot. It’s so cute. We’ve arrived. This is the Lotte rental center. It’s the largest rental car base on Jeju Island. It’s about a ten-minute drive from the airport. Their business hours are from 6 AM to 11 PM. So no matter what time your flight arrives, you can rent a car. Let’s go inside and get the paperwork done. Once inside, we first find the one for foreigners, the self-service kiosk. Like the Lotte website, it supports Chinese, so you don’t have to worry about not understanding it. Then, just scan the QR code from the confirmation email, along with your passport and international driving permit. Then, pay with your card, and that’s it. Very fast and simple. Wow, there are so many cars here. The scale is so impressive. It truly lives up to its name as number one in Korea. This is your car for today. Wow, this looks so new and great! It’s really new. I think it’s this car. It’s only been driven about 1,000 kilometers. It’s basically brand new! Yeah. And when you pick up the car, you generally don’t need to take photos or videos to check the exterior because we’ve already done the inspection beforehand and washed the car. Plus, you have full coverage insurance. If you get into an accident out there, we’ll take care of it. So in that regard, you don’t have to worry. Okay, thank you. Okay, you can get in the car now. Are you Korean? I am Korean. Your Chinese is so good! Ah! Thank you, thank you. I studied abroad in China. Wow! That’s amazing. Okay, thank you. We rented a Kia Carnival this time. It’s a 9-seater. Although there are only six of us in our family, we always rent a slightly larger car. That way, we don’t have to worry about not having enough space for luggage. When we first started self-driving, we rented cars that were just the right size. But then our luggage had nowhere to go. If it didn’t fit in the trunk, we had to put it at our feet, which made the whole trip very uncomfortable. We’ve tried it before. If this car has six people, it can still fit about four 29-inch suitcases. The reason we chose Lotte Rent-a-Car is because it’s the largest and has the best service among rental companies in Korea. They have a huge selection of car models, from small cars, SUVs, and electric cars to 11-seater vans. You can choose a car model based on your group size or budget. If you have kids, you can also, when renting the car, book car seats and strollers for an additional fee. A reminder for everyone: the law here in Korea requires children under six to use a car seat. Our kids are already older than that, so we don’t need one anymore. We’ve just checked the car inside and out, and everyone has picked their seats. This car is really new, great, and comfortable. During a trip, renting a clean and comfortable car really puts you in a good mood for the whole journey. It gives you a great start. And since Lotte Rent-a-Car directly includes full coverage insurance for everyone, we don’t need to check the car’s exterior. The staff also inspects it thoroughly before handing it over to you. So we can head out right now. We’re now at a branch of Samseonghyeol Seafood Hot Pot. We went to the main branch last time. When we came back this time, we found that the main branch had raised its prices for some reason, but the branch hadn’t. So we chose to come here. After our last Jeju trip, we couldn’t stop thinking about this. It’s so delicious. As is customary, some side dishes arrived first. They’re all-you-can-eat here. Some of them look harmless but are actually very spicy. Oh my, this looks so tempting. The abalones are huge and still moving! Last time we ordered the medium size, so we didn’t get such big abalones. This time, the abalones are huge! I thought the extra-large size just meant a bigger portion. How come the abalones got bigger too? No, I’m telling you, even the octopus inside… The octopus is about the same size, but these abalones are really huge. So cool, so cool. Wow, it’s still alive. This pot costs 90,000 KRW right now, which is about 2,000 NTD. I think it’s actually quite cheap, because the octopus is really big, and the abalones are huge too. If you were to buy all its raw ingredients yourself in Taiwan to cook at home, fresh ones would definitely cost more. I love this kind of tableside service. They know the tricks, like how to arrange everything and how to cook it so it doesn’t get tough. And last time, he also told us what to eat first and so on. Eat the octopus first. Okay, thank you. They’re very skilled and efficient. If we had to prepare this ourselves, I don’t know how long this pot would take. This vegetable pancake, tastes a bit like the sweet potato cakes we have back home. That kind of feel. I finally get to eat the seafood hot pot I’ve been dreaming of. This octopus… it’s so delicious. Wow, I can’t describe it with words. I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, for over half a year. He’s helping us with the abalones now. They have to be cooked before you can remove the thing inside. The meat part. The innards? Oh, he said what he removed was the mouth part. I think coming to Jeju Island and eating this is the best value, really. Because even for a seafood hot pot back home, for this price, you probably couldn’t get a spread like this. Right, right, right, right. Wow, it’s really amazing. These are clams. When you eat them, be careful, they’ll squirt hot juice. And they need to be cooked a bit longer. Oh my gosh, this abalone is so big. It’s awesome. So plump and springy. Oh, you should try this abalone first. This is so good. This is the best abalone I’ve ever had. It’s huge, but also very soft and chewy, right? It’s actually very tender, but because it’s so thick, it’s a bit hard to cut. But once you cut it, it separates easily. So satisfying, so satisfying. I wish I could order a few more of these. So delicious. It’s so thick. This is basically a thick-cut abalone. It wasn’t cut; it was just naturally this thick. And we also ordered a mackerel. Their mackerel is quite fatty. I think when you’re in Jeju Island, you should definitely try the mackerel. It’s generally not that expensive and it’s really tasty. And the restaurant treated us to a tilefish. Ordering tilefish in Taiwan isn’t cheap either. It’s two of them! Thank you, thank you. If you come to Jeju and don’t eat this seafood, you’ve come for nothing. We highly recommend coming to the No. 1 branch of Samseonghyeol Seafood Hot Pot. Because here, they haven’t raised the prices, and they also have Chinese service. Since among the three generations in our family, some people can’t eat spicy food at all, so I chose the non-spicy option. But it still has a tiny bit of spice. The whole broth is very fragrant and delicious. Even if you can’t handle spice, you can give it a try. We’re now at Saebyeol Oreum. It’s a volcanic cone on Jeju Island. The reason it’s called Saebyeol (“Morning Star”) is because it’s like a morning star shining in the night sky. That’s what I read in the materials. But what is a morning star? I don’t quite understand. Now that I’m here, my first impression is that as I walk forward like this, it feels like I’m watching a 3D movie. My head is actually getting a bit dizzy. I see everyone walking up that small path. I wonder if it’s tiring to walk up. It is. Sometimes when we come to an attraction, we’re just looking to see “Oh, this is beautiful,” and then take a picture, and that’s it. No pursuit of… You still have to walk. You have to walk. Stop talking. Okay, stop running! Stop running! Mommy can’t keep up. Daddy can’t keep up either. This trail, it really feels like a small path. Although it’s surrounded by weeds, it’s quite pretty. And then you look out into the distance, wow, the vast view of the distant mountains is no joke. No wonder this place is famous. Is it pretty here? Not bad. (Very pretty) It’s like Hokkaido. Yes, yes. Shiretoko Five Lakes. Looking out, it’s all green. Grandma even gave it a Shiretoko Five Lakes rating. That tells you how high the rating is. Let’s just get some exercise. This ground here, it’s all paved with jute mats. So it’s actually very easy and comfortable to walk on. And it doesn’t feel muddy. There’s a secret to visiting this place. Don’t look up. If you look up, you won’t want to walk anymore. If you look at the ground, you’ll get there before you know it. Just think about your weight dropping. Okay. Don’t you feel a sense of pride? This is the fruit of our labor. We haven’t reached the top yet. Still about a hundred steps left. This guy is always running at the front. He’s already there. He’s at the age where we have to chase him. Yes, and this slope is actually very steep. I’m a little worried Grandma can’t make it up. No way, no way. Just walk slowly. I’m not going. I can’t take it anymore. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The view here is beautiful. And the view looking down is actually quite special. The terrain below is quite varied. I don’t know why it looks like this.
We’ve reached this platform, On the other side, there are five windmills. This view is also quite beautiful. If you walk slowly, it shouldn’t be too tiring. It’s just that our little guy walks too fast. He forces us to keep a fast pace. Wow, we’ve reached the summit! It’s so beautiful. Isn’t it beautiful? Is it cool? Want to climb it again? I daren’t say. I’m going to climb down that way. We’re almost at the bottom. It’s only when you’re walking down that you realize it’s easier to go up than to come down. Coming down requires a lot of leg strength. So people with weak legs should think twice. But I still highly recommend this spot. Because the view from the top is incredibly beautiful. It’s just that this location is not very accessible by public transport. I recommend coming by car. That would be a lot easier. Let me share with you what I love about this car. The seats are very comfortable, and the overall space is very roomy. And my legs… I actually haven’t adjusted the seat very far forward, but my legs can be fully stretched out. That’s pretty impressive. See? No problem kicking my legs around. This car has many charging ports. In the driver’s area, the second row, and the trunk, there are places to charge. Up here in the driver’s area, there are two charging ports. Both are Type-C. And one of these cables is connected to Apple CarPlay. And then, this cigarette lighter socket, this car charger is one we brought ourselves. Because we’re filming, we need to charge a lot of equipment. So we prepare lots and lots of chargers. On the back of the driver and front passenger seats, there are also Type-C ports for the second-row passengers to charge. This car has another feature I really like. The seats are heated. Even though it’s summer now, I still turn it on often to apply heat to my back. This car has a sliding door design. And even though it’s a big car, the door sill is made quite low, so it’s very convenient for elders and children to get in and out. Grandma’s face… she’s so afraid of the sun. This is Jeju-dang. It’s currently one of Jeju’s newest and largest cafes. As soon as we walked in, we noticed it has a very forest-themed vibe. And it combines a little bit of Jeju’s unique rustic style. And, it’s surrounded by large floor-to-ceiling windows. Very beautiful, very beautiful. I had imagined that this view would be an amazing ocean view. But when I came over, the outside also has a forest-themed feel. It matches inside and out. I feel like this place has a bit of a condensed Hokkaido vibe, don’t you think? Oh. This place is nice, huh? Beautiful. Very good, very good. Wow. Oh my. Truly beautiful. I think we underestimated Jeju Island. Yeah. It integrates the natural environment and has also done the interior landscaping very well. Although coming to Jeju in the summer is really quite hot, many cafes are like this, with large picture windows. This way, we can enjoy the air conditioning inside and still see the beautiful scenery outside. And spend more money inside like this. Sitting and drinking coffee for an afternoon, I think this is the highest form of marketing art. Actually, forest-themed cafes are quite common for us. But as for rustic-themed ones, this is the first time I’ve seen one. And it combines the elements of rustic and forest, these two elements together, and the fusion is done very well. It doesn’t feel out of place at all. Smells so good. You know what? It’s not the smell of bread. Let me tell you, it’s… I saw them stir-frying something, it smells so good. Both smell too good. I’m confused. This area, don’t you think it looks like a scene from a hypermarket? I think it looks like a country kitchen or something. A country market, it does look like it. That’s right, that’s right. Our food is here. Originally, I wanted to order that beautiful drink on the wall. Its name was a long string of words. Something something something Earl Grey tea. So I told the staff, “I’d like that Earl Grey tea.” But then, he really just gave me a cup of plain Earl Grey tea. No wonder you thought it was cheaper, right? Exactly. Let me tell you, when I just walked out, I saw this mirror-like water surface outside. It’s so beautiful. Both inside and out, the atmosphere is really fantastic. Once you’re in, you don’t want to leave. This place is well worth a visit. Is it good? The bread is very soft. This is Jeju matcha. It also has some red bean paste inside. Although this bread is a bit pricey, both the scenery and the bread itself are of high quality. This one is a surprise. Although it looks quite similar to the previous one, it has a dual filling inside. It has both cream and red bean. I like this one even more. But it’s not very easy to eat. You’ll get it all over your face. And this place, if I had another chance, I would definitely come here and properly have a cup of coffee. If I had to rate it, I’d give it 95 points. This is Jeju Songdang Fairy Tale Village. It combines Jeju’s culture and scenery into one park. Besides the scenery here, there are also other things to see. For example, it has some unique souvenir shops and cafes. Later, we’ll go see what’s interesting and tell you about it. It should be the end of the hydrangea season now. But the hydrangeas are still all over the hills and valleys, very beautiful. And although the scenery here is man-made, it’s done on a spectacular scale. So I think taking pictures here could also take up quite a bit of time. For waterfall scenery like this, being able to take pictures under the waterfall is already impressive enough. But at this spot, you can walk behind the waterfall. And because it’s surrounded by volcanic rock, it has a very Jeju-like character. I think it’s quite original. So refreshing. A great way to escape the heat. Cave waterfall style. Taking pictures here is not just beautiful, it also feels like you’re trekking through mountains and rivers. It’s quite fun. We are now at the highest point of Songdang. From every angle here, you get a different feeling. Like looking down now, you see hydrangeas covering the hills. Then you can see the entire landscape of Songdang. And then, a little further away, you can also see the natural mountain scenery. It’s very special because you have flower scenery, and garden scenery, and also this kind of natural mountain scenery. It’s very special. It’s rare to see something like this. We think this attraction is incredibly generous. Because it’s completely free of charge. And it has condensed all of Jeju’s unique features into this one park. And it’s done so beautifully. We’ve seen that on Jeju Island, most attractions charge an entrance fee, and the tickets aren’t cheap. Wow, there’s a huge sea of hydrangeas here. I didn’t realize it until I walked in. Wow, just this sea of flowers alone is comparable to paid attractions. This is Starbucks Korea’s largest Reserve Roastery flagship store. Inside here, they sell many unique items that you can’t find at other Starbucks locations. We just filmed the staff making pour-over coffee. It really makes me want to drink some. I think the most amazing thing is this floor-to-ceiling window. Because the view is of the entire Songdang area we were just in. Actually, the whole building has a great sense of transparency. It’s very comfortable here. There are window seats everywhere. And actually, the views from all four sides are quite good. There are plenty of seats, and it’s not too crowded. This side is my favorite. Looking at Geomunoreum from here is really beautiful. Indeed. Next, I’ll take you to Paris Baguette, Songdang branch. Actually, I didn’t know about this store at all. It was because a friend who traveled to Jeju Island specifically bought souvenirs from here for us. That’s when we realized this store is a well-known and famous store in Korea. Their souvenirs are made in a way that aligns with current trends. They’re kind of ugly-cute, ugly-cute. You’re the ugly one. I just saw this store sells mango shaved ice. And when we were doing our research, we found a place that sells mango shaved ice for as much as seven to eight hundred NTD. We instantly understood why Yongkang Street has so many Koreans. But this store’s prices are quite reasonable. Its price is the same as Yongkang Street’s mango shaved ice price. But it’s only half the size. This is Koriko Cafe. It’s one of Ghibli’s properties, a themed cafe based on Kiki’s Delivery Service. And “Koriko” is actually, in Kiki’s Delivery Service, the name of the seaside town where the main character lives. I think Songdang here is a great tourist spot for self-driving. Because although it has buses, the service is infrequent. Like just now, the weather wasn’t good, and it was raining. If we also had to wait for a bus, it would be pure misery. As for us, we really travel abroad 99% of the time by choosing to self-drive. This is Jjoma Ranch (Pony Ranch). It’s a cafe, but it has a very, very large area. Behind us, we can see quite a few ponies are here. It’s a free attraction. But if you want to experience specific activities, like horse riding or feeding horses, those require payment. Riding a bike. But there’s no entrance fee. You’re happy to see the animals, but you both love and fear them, right? You don’t dare get close, right? I dare. Really? The horses here are all ponies. They’re all small horses. And look, the railings here have all been chewed up by them. I don’t know if they’re grinding their teeth or just too hungry. I don’t know why they’re chewing on the wood. I think they’re just really hungry. Look, it’s even picking up branches from outside to eat. That railing is about to be broken by it. Do you know what I’m doing right now? “Patting the horse’s butt.” (Flattering) Exactly. You figured it out. Darn it. Seriously though, the horse’s butt here is quite pretty and photogenic. It really is. Yeah. Its coat is very smooth and shiny. Everyone is welcome to come here and “pat the horse’s butt.” Now, my younger son and I are going to ride together. I originally thought my son and I were going to ride the same horse. But they said it’s because if one horse walks alone, it might get scared. So we have to have two horses go together. So you two are both going up, huh? Are you happy? I think they’re so skilled. He’s riding a scooter to lead our horses. A hoverboard. Is it a hoverboard? The horse is peeing again. Oh my. Okay. Make a heart. A small heart. When in Korea, what do you do? Like this. Like this? Are you having fun? Starting to get more up close and personal. Go ahead, touch it. Their horses are really well-behaved. So I’m not as scared. Experiencing the feeling of a horse running. Although our experience was just a short 200 meters, I feel the whole experience was quite complete. It wasn’t over in a flash. You like the little horse the most, right? It hasn’t finished shedding its coat. Don’t say you’re not afraid of being bitten. I’ve been bitten by a donkey and a horse before. And even rammed by a sheep. That’s right, I’m super strong. Don’t be fooled by how small the horse is. They can be quite fierce. It almost bit the skewer in half just now. They put the carrots for feeding the horses on a long skewer like this. This makes it very safe for children to feed the horses. They don’t have to worry about getting their fingers bitten. I think this design is very thoughtful. This is Olive Young, Seogwipo Innovation City branch. When we often go to Japan, we always schedule a trip to a drugstore. In recent years, Korean beauty products have become increasingly popular in Taiwan. I’m a big fan myself. So when I come to Korea, I absolutely must schedule a trip to a beauty store. Before I came, I asked my friends what’s popular and what everyone is buying. But if you come here without doing any research, it actually tells you what everyone has been buying lately. Just follow the trend and buy. Products like these have, in recent years, become a more popular skincare method. It’s a bit like a face mask, but it’s made into individual cotton pads. You can take them out and apply them to your cheeks. This brand’s Green Tomato series is a bestseller at Olive Young. Its function is to tighten pores and fight aging. It looks very appealing. Should I give it a try? It absorbs really well. I hate the sticky feeling when I apply skincare products. Look, my left hand was just applied with it. And my right hand is noticeably drier, right? It’s hard for men to tell the difference. Yes, you can. Look, the fine lines on my left hand are noticeably reduced. Like this one, this is what I was talking about. It’s very popular among tourists. You can also try it here. You use a small tweezer to pick it out. That’s very convenient and hygienic. This is from O’sulloc Tea Museum, that brand of tea. And it even has Hello Kitty on it. I wonder if O’sulloc Tea Museum sells this version. I’ve seen this powder compact recommended quite often recently. When I opened it, I found that there was no puff inside. Turns out, they’re all on the side. They’re disposable. That’s great. Feels very thoughtful. Let me try out its color. I quite like this color. And when applied, it doesn’t feel dry. Not bad. This service is also very thoughtful. There’s makeup remover right next to it, so you can remove it right away. Hmm, in that case, I should have just applied it directly to my face earlier. Because applying it on the hand sometimes gives a different effect than on the face. The most amazing thing about this store is that they have a self-service skin analysis machine. Actually, I already did it when I first came in. And my age is… the resulting skin age is 31. That’s a bit lower than my actual age. I think that’s not right. They should have set the age higher. That way, they’d sell more products. Let me tell you, it’s to make you happy first. But not too far off. Is that it? You were really sold on that one, weren’t you? Yes. I wanted to buy it when I was doing my research. You thought it was pretty good when you just tried it? I thought it was quite good when I tried it. But many things need time to prove their worth. But the price is very cheap, so I think it’s worth a try. Hey, I actually quite like this place. Because it’s very spacious. Because every time I go to a drugstore with you, I’m always squeezing through crowds. When we drive in Jeju Island, sometimes the speed limit changes very quickly. Like now, the speed limit has become 30. That probably means there’s a school nearby. But the navigation system will remind you. The sign here says this is a school zone. So the speed limit becomes 30. We are always extra careful when driving abroad. We’re very afraid of getting into an accident. Lotte told us that if we get into any accident on the road, we just need to call 1588-1230 to contact them. Like when we had a small accident in Japan before, it was so much trouble. You had to contact the police first… (After the police handle it) …before you could call the rental center. But here, you don’t have to. You can just call them directly. Many of the road signs in Jeju Island actually have Chinese on them. So it’s quite clear. You won’t get lost. You seem very comfortable driving here. Because the direction of traffic is the same as in Taiwan. We drive on the right. So you don’t have to change any habits, right? Exactly. We’re now going into Cheonjiyeon Falls. For adults here, the entrance fee is 2,000 KRW per person. For children, it’s 1,000 KRW. Originally, when we got out of the car, we thought it was too hot today, we couldn’t walk. But as soon as we walked in, it was very cool with all the green trees. And the path is very flat and easy to walk. Is it cool? Yes, it’s cool. Do you like it? It’s cool. I like it. We walked for about six or seven minutes after coming in and reached the waterfall. And when we saw the waterfall, it was quite stunning. Because the water flow is really huge. I saw the explanation over there, it said at the bottom, there’s a pool that’s 20 meters deep. And I thought, well, that’s not surprising. Because the water flow is so strong, it would indeed create such a deep pool at the bottom. And this place, it’s actually because of volcanic activity that this waterfall scene was created. We’ve been to many beautiful and magnificent places. Places like this usually have a legend. And the legend here is that a dragon lives at the bottom. In the past, when there was no rain, they would pray for rain at this place. So this place must have been like a sacred site. There are many people taking pictures in front of the waterfall. Everyone is quite self-disciplined, leaving after taking their pictures. They don’t linger in front of the waterfall. But when we walked back, and got to this slightly higher spot, we found that the angle for photographing the waterfall here is excellent. Why not take pictures here? It’s said that the rocks here look like human faces. But no matter how we look, we feel there are several faces. Use your own imagination. This spot is called Oedolgae Rock. It was formed by a volcanic eruption, from solidified lava. Long ago, the drama “Dae Jang Geum” was filmed here. The scene showed that she was at this place, facing the sea, looking at Oedolgae Rock, and made up her mind to study medicine. It showed her determination. So, after it was broadcast on TV back then, this place became a very, very popular tourist spot. We were over there just now. And now we’re looking at Oedolgae Rock from a different angle. Wow, it’s beautiful. This seaside is really beautiful. Oedolgae Rock is so beautiful, I can’t help but show you the drone footage. This place also requires self-driving to get to. Taking buses and transferring is inconvenient. For people like me who love self-driving, being able to drive and stop at hidden gems is the best thing ever. We’re now at a buffet in Seogwipo. Let me tell you, their buffet is all-you-can-eat. And what’s really amazing is that this place, it’s almost all locals. And here, eating at a buffet costs about 10,000 KRW. This place is 2,000 KRW more expensive. What makes it more expensive? Their selection of dishes is amazing. Let me tell you, they have a huge variety of dishes. But the most classic dishes are these. Look, when we get off the plane, what do people go to eat? Jamae Guksu, right? They have this boiled pork. It’s delicious. Here, you can eat as much as you want. And let me tell you, when I just tried it, the flavor is really good. It’s fresh, with no gamey taste. Next is marinated raw crab (Ganjang Gejang). I didn’t expect to get marinated raw crab at this price (all-you-can-eat). And it’s actually quite fresh. And it’s all-you-can-eat. Here we have fried cutlassfish. And next to it, there’s some bluefish. This is crab intestines. Please, cutlassfish isn’t cheap. Anyone who has eaten here knows. The side dishes and kimchi here are also delicious. Like this dried fish we got, wow, it’s crunchy. And the spiciness, it looks very spicy, but when you eat it, it’s kind of sweet and spicy. I think it leans more towards the sweet side. They also have a self-service fried egg and instant noodle station. The instant noodles we saw at the convenience store were so expensive. If you eat two bowls here, you’ve gotten your money’s worth. My dad said wrapping the meat and spaghetti in lettuce is delicious. He just kept eating, putting the lettuce inside that… He actually wrapped spaghetti inside it. That’s a lot of filling! Yeah. There’s a whole freezer of popsicles to choose from here. I saw everyone holding one in their hand. And when a family like ours with three generations travels together, finding a place to eat during a trip can be a hassle. But when you come to a buffet, everyone can choose what they want to eat based on their own preferences. That’s great. Yes, there are many non-spicy options to choose from here. And let me tell you, the man cutting the meat here, he speaks Chinese. He’s an overseas Chinese. So when I heard him speak, I felt completely at ease. It felt especially friendly. And the food is delicious. This is my I-don’t-know-how-many-th crab. It’s so good. I can’t believe that for this price, you can eat all-you-can-eat marinated raw crab here. Wow, just eating this makes it worth it. This is a toast with egg that I made myself. So happy. Mmm. Do you know what marinated raw crab is called? A rice thief. Then you’re a marinated crab thief. You keep taking more without feeling sorry. I paid for it. We’ve now arrived at FINS CAFE. Why are we here? Because this sea we’re facing, this road is called the Dolphin Road. They say if you sit in this cafe and look out, you can see dolphins dancing in the sea. This cafe is very beautiful. It blends modern and traditional styles. The top part looks like a traditional Jeju stone house. But the interior of the cafe is still quite modern and comfortable. The entrance is hard to find. We drove around in a circle before we found it. We’re having a little afternoon tea here. The weather is great today, the sky is very blue. But the dolphins didn’t come out to sunbathe. But I think even if there are many dolphins here, it’s impossible that you can see them whenever you want to, right? It’s said that sometimes, if you’re lucky, you will see them very clearly, jumping right there. Let’s drive along this road later and see if anyone else sees them. Right now, the sea surface is sparkling and shimmering. But honestly, my eyes can’t look directly at the sea for too long. It’s a bit overwhelming, it’s too bright. We’ve moved to the front row with the ocean view. I think I definitely didn’t order the right thing. Because the drinks and cakes on everyone else’s tables are different from mine. And I feel that mine… it’s just average. Not really to my taste. Mmm. Next to the cafe, they’ve specially designed a structure that looks like a… what’s it called… a sea cave. And when you look through it, it seems like it frames the entire sea. I heard this is a very popular spot for watching the sunset. We’ve now come out to the sea area outside the cafe. But we really haven’t seen any dolphins. I saw in the reviews that someone came every day and saw them every day. I think it might be because we didn’t wait long enough. Maybe you need to be a bit more leisurely to be able to see dolphins here. Look at the birds on the rocks over there. They’ve been sitting there motionless. We’ve been watching for a while. They’re like statues. Actually, if you zoom in really close, you’ll notice that they are there, pecking at each other and nipping at each other. Yes, but they just stay there. I know what it’s doing there. What? Waiting for dolphins. We’re not going to see them. Darn it. We’re now at a CU convenience store on the Dolphin Road. What are we doing here? You can come here to restock on anything you need for the road. And then, you can go upstairs to the second floor for free to see the ocean view. You can see dolphins from here too. So this is why people call it the “Dolphin CU.” When I see this, a phrase comes to my mind. “CU again.” Because we keep coming here to buy water. The weather is so hot. Their slogan is quite good. It’s “Nice to CU.” That’s true. You can see many boats on the sea. Actually, many of them are whale and dolphin watching tour boats. So when you come to Jeju Island, you can also experience this kind of tour. But we’re too afraid of getting seasick to go dolphin watching. We can’t do it. Let’s give the dolphins one more chance. Just now, we were sitting by the window waiting for dolphins. But it’s just too hot. Everyone must make a purchase before coming up. After all, they’ve provided such a great space. We shouldn’t cause them too much trouble. Why haven’t the dolphins come yet? Because they want you to come back several times. You have to keep coming back, and only then will they let you see them. This is Sanbangsan Land. It’s an amusement park with a vintage feel. It’s like our old Mingde Le Yuan. There’s no entrance fee here. But each ride is charged individually. Let’s go take a look. Here are the fees for each ride. Grass sledding is one of the most popular activities. We’ll tell you why in a moment. We just paid 5,000 KRW per person for the ticket. And in this area, you can play on everything as much as you want. This one will definitely hide, he will hide. Hey, you dare to feed them this time. Ah, I don’t want to. When I was still at the entrance, they gave us this handful. I was wondering what it was. Turns out it’s to feed the sheep. That’s great. The ticket is worth it then. Right? You want to feed them but you’re also scared, right? Although sheep are gentle animals, ever since we were… Last time in Chiang Mai, after we were rammed by a sheep, I have a bit of a trauma now, I’m a little scared. This grass sledding is their very popular attraction. Because you pay 5,000 KRW for the ticket and you can sled as many times as you want. And this looks really fun. Because there are tracks. The speed might be quite fast. And everyone says the sense of speed is great. Let’s give it a try. Go, go! Wow! Feels super fast. So fast, so fast! I’m passing you! So fast! It’s fast! Xiao Pi, was that fun? It was fun! I think if the kids do this five times, they’ll probably be tired enough to go home. The Chill Family Grass Sledding Competition, ready… start! I’m heavier, I’ll… Woo! I’m passing you! It would be even better if this thing automatically sent you back up. Amusement parks today are increasingly flashy. Spinning roller coasters, dazzling light shows. Everything is eye-catching. But when we were kids, amusement parks weren’t so brilliant. Just a few rusty swings, a creaky slide, and a slow-turning Ferris wheel. It was these simple rides that could make us laugh all day. Walking into this amusement park, I feel like I’ve returned to that simple time. I also hope my kids can learn from this that happiness doesn’t have to be fancy. Often, the simplest things become the most beautiful memories. So good! But I noticed something, you were standing too far forward. We’ve already returned the car. The whole process just requires confirming you have all your luggage, handing back the key, and you’re done. Very simple and fast. We are very grateful to Lotte Rent-a-Car for this trip. They made our transportation completely worry-free. Because the coverage provided by Lotte Rent-a-Car is very comprehensive. The rental includes full coverage insurance. Even if there’s an accident, there are no additional costs. Unlike other rental companies, which may have many conditions and restrictions on claims. Here, we’ll share Lotte Rent-a-Car’s discount code: “welcome”. We welcome everyone to use it when you visit Jeju Island. We’ll take the shuttle bus back to the airport shortly. So we’ll say goodbye here. Bye-bye, everyone! Oh right, I almost forgot to share with you all. Right next to the Lotte Rent-a-Car Auto House, there’s a super delicious pork rib soup and pork noodle soup restaurant. The broth is incredibly rich. The ribs are stewed until they melt in your mouth. Paired with chewy noodles, it’s truly satisfying. Whether you’re about to set off or before returning the car, it’s the perfect place to fill your stomach. And just by entering our discount code “Welcome”, you can get an instant 10,000 KRW discount. Just consider this warm bowl of pork noodle soup as a welcome gift from Lotte Rent-a-Car.
