Camping deep in Malaysia’s jungle. 4×4 Overlanding with Land Cruiser. Coffee with GEARTRON Portbrew

In this video… Hey there, welcome back! In this video,
we’re heading to a remote village in Pahang, called Kampung Nyamuk Orang Asli. We’ll be bringing some essential supplies
and spending time with the Orang Asli community, creating memories and sharing little moments together. Before the trip,
we packed some basics for the villagers, rice, sugar, salt, cooking oil, biscuits, flour, cocoa etc… It wasn’t much,
but it came from the heart. Even small acts can make a big difference. We set off early in the morning, driving towards Raub, Pahang. We’ve been part of this
charity event since last year. It’s a once-a-year meaningful trip where campers gather
to support the Orang Asli community. After a whole year apart,
I’m so excited to see everyone again! This event is usually three days and two nights, but this year we could only join for one night. Some moments you’ll see are from last year,
just to share the full story. Hope you enjoy watching! We’ve arrived at the meeting point
after a two-hour drive. Wow, look at all these stunning vehicles! This year, even more people joined. Land Cruisers, campervans, motorhomes. The camping family just keeps growing. We chatted a little while waiting for everyone to arrive. Time to hit the road, let’s go! A chill drive before the real adventure begins. Now, it’s time for the off-road journey. This is where the fun really starts! xD Two and a half hours of
bumpy trails and steep climbs ahead. Slowly making our way deeper into the jungle. My Land Cruiser struggled with the hills. Switching to four-wheel drive is a must. My butt needs a stretch break soon. ;P Oh, finally… After a three-hour drive, we reached the campsite. Hope my legs remembered what walking is haha xD Over 50 cars and almost 100 campers gathered this year.
It was packed! Everyone was busy pitching tents and unpacking. Time to set up some shades. Oh, I’m so hungry after that long bumpy drive. Good thing I packed nasi lemak from Bentong this morning. Simple food, but so comforting after a long drive. After lunch, I felt like having some coffee. I brought my Geartron Portbrew, it’s a compact pour-over set that fits neatly in one case. Inside, there’s a grinder, dripper,
titanium pot, and mug. Everything stays organized in the case. Even the filter papers have their own
magnetic storage compartment. Believe it or not,
this mug converts into a gooseneck pot in seconds. Let me show you some magic 😉 I just detach the knob… …and attach the spout. Voila!
The mug’s now a gooseneck dripper. Love this detachable spout. It saves space and is easy to use. The kettle has a temperature indicator, so I know when it’s ready to brew. I’m using 20 grams of coffee for this brew. It can fit up to 25g in one go. Let me adjust the grind size slightly. This grinder uses a ceramic burr. I find it grinds smoothly,
and the coffee tastes better for pour over. One full charge can get me around 40 cups. Water’s at about 95°C. The grinder gives a nice, even grind. The narrow spout makes it easy to control water flow. Ah, the smell of fresh coffee filled the air. The first sip was smooth and rich,
just what I needed to recharge. Little moments like this brighten the day 🙂 Let’s pack everything back into the case. I like that everything has its own place. So I don’t worry about leaving anything behind. All packed up and ready for the next cup. Zip it up,
good to go! Let’s go check out my neighbor’s motorhome. Meet Lian,
the lovely lady owner of this home. It has air conditioning,
a toilet, and even a karaoke system! Access to the driver and passenger seats. A cozy bedroom. Here’s the toilet. They have electricity too. And a fridge, of course. Storage compartments. And this is Sam, the owner of the car. Sam kindly showed me how their toilet works. The tank holds about two days’
worth of waste for two people. Here’s the water pump. They have hot water for the shower. This fluid helps break down waste in the holding tank. Sam connected the back storage,
so they can keep longer items inside. Storage for camping chairs and tables. Sam installed two solar panels on the roof. A charging slot. And this 10-meter hose is
for filling water into their tank. Did you notice this is actually a Ford Ranger
converted into a motorhome? That’s really impressive! They call it the “banana camper.”
I’ll let you guess why. Thank you, Sam, for showing me around. Now we’re visiting another home. Meet Sylvia, she’s from Australia. “This is our house. So this is the bed — it’s a big bed.” “So the bed you can actually push it in.” “And then you can sit here.” “Like this, table and chair.” “This can also become an extra bed.” “So if you lower the table down here, and then you put the cushions flat.” “It becomes one bed, one extra bed.” “And then here is the bathroom stuff, just shampoo…” Do you have a shower room in here? “Yes. So…” “So, you can push the bed inside” “You can clip the shower curtain here, here, here, and here.” “Look, if I open, you can see the shower drain.” “I put the shoes that we don’t use in there.” “And you move the table.” “You just take the table off.” “You push the bed in.” “You can stand here inside the shower curtain.” “My fridge, it’s very small but it’s full enough.” “You gotta play Tetris.” “Clothes.” “My shirt, my shirt, three dress, my underwear.” “My husband’s.” “All same tone of color.” “My husband is just grey, beige, blue, white.” “And then here’s the cutleries.” “Chopping board.” “This one is the plates and cups.” “The battery.” “So if there’s no solar…” “Example it’s raining for four days.” “Maybe four days (battery last).” “Only this (fridge) runs 24.” Can you guess what vehicle this is? It’s actually a Land Cruiser
with a slide-in camper. Sylvia and her husband, Fred
use it for their travels. They plan to explore the world with it,
even driving all the way to Africa. It’s amazing how much they
fit into this compact space. The camper can even detach from the truck. They store their spare tire inside the vehicle. Thanks, Sylvia, for the warm hospitality.
Safe travels! After a full day, it was time for dinner. Thank you, Cheng and Keong Gor,
for preparing such a warm meal. After dinner,
everyone gathered around the campfire. Some were watching the flames quietly,
others chatting and laughing. Kids danced around with endless energy. So happy to see the kids are having fun 🙂 One little boy just didn’t want the night to end. His mom had to carry him home,
still dancing in her arms. It’s midnight already… time for a quick shower. Luckily, the campsite has proper toilets
with a shower, sink, and a toilet bowl. Oh my, the water is so cold… Just had my cold shower. I think I’m officially awake again haha Blow-drying my hair in my tiny home. This is actually my first time blow-drying my hair in the car. It feels nice and convenient. I’m so grateful for my DJI power station. It used just 1% of its battery to dry my hair,
pretty impressive! Now, let’s set up my bed for the night. I’m sleeping with the doors open tonight. So, I’ll put up a mosquito net
to keep bugs away. Can give me some privacy too. It’s a cool, peaceful night in the jungle. Good night, from the jungle. Good morning. Oh, I slept well last night. Woke up to a chilly morning. Time to tidy up my bed. I freshened up a bit. Then brewed a fresh cup of morning coffee. Enjoying a slow breakfast with friends. Time to gather supplies. Wow, look at this lively crowd! These are the supplies for the villagers. Kind folks donated new shoes for the kids. Happy to see so many smiling faces around me! Let’s grab my camera and Neewer flash quickly. Just wanted to capture all the smiles. I usually carry this flash with me. It’s my way of catching special moments, even in low light. Now I have these little memories to keep. We also celebrated Malaysia’s National Day. Group photo time, with everyone shouting “Merdeka!” Oh, look at this cute baby!! :)) Climbing everywhere with so much curiosity! It’s impossible not to smile at him. Bye bye, little one 🙂 Spotted these two dogs… looks like they were having a very long meeting…
over 30 minutes! ;P Check out my neighbor Silvester’s car. So neat and organized! The day was getting hot. Let’s head to the river to cool off. It felt so refreshing. Let the river wash my worries away! xD The villagers shared a delicious local dessert with us. I think it’s steamed tapioca cake. It tastes good!
Thank you for the treat! Hey, look at that crowd over there! Oh, the locals are selling fresh petai! Let’s take a quick bath. My battery’s at 45% after four hair-drying sessions. Twice by me, twice by my camping sister. Some kids stopped by my camper. I brewed them some espresso to try. It was too bitter for their taste. But their smiles really made my day. Volunteers are working on a river-powered generator. They aim to create electricity from the water’s flow. I couldn’t stay to see the finished project, but I’m sure it turned out amazing. Time to pack up and head back to the city. I had to leave a bit earlier. Part of me wished I could stay longer, but I had some things to take care of. Siong and Amy kindly checked my car before we left. All good. So thankful for their care and kindness. Goodbye 🙂 This trip was more than just camping. It was about people, kindness, and connection. Even the smallest effort can bring warmth to someone’s life. I’m grateful for everyone
who made this journey so meaningful. Back on the tar road. Till next time, Kampung Nyamuk. Thank you for spending time with me today. Follow us on : See you in the next one~

  2. So happy to see this latest vid. I missed watching you last week and wondered where you had gone. But this camping spot looks fantastic. Certainly looks like a lot of people turned up to support the community. What a great time, bless! 💝

  3. can i employ you to take me out for camps ? i can pay you and rent an suv to follow you.i am scared to camp alone.

  4. Nice watching your expedition posts and have been enjoying them very much. Hope to see more of your future posts . Travel safe and stay safe mate. God Bless

  5. Don’t you guys enjoy sleeping in your rooftop tent? I always figured it’d be more spacious and comfortable for two people than squeezing into the back of the 4WD. Just curious — was there a reason you opted for the inside of the vehicle instead?

  6. Ohh wow, very challenging road to get there. Its is very enjoyable time doing charity works in kampung orang asli. Ang its good also can join the convoy. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

  7. It’s always wonderful catching up with like-minded folks — especially those who share the same passion as you do. There’s something special about connecting with people who feel like kindred spirits. I did notice there was only one 80 Series Land Cruiser in the group. Aren't they popular in Malaysia? Anyway, good on you for participating and giving back to the community. That kind of presence makes a real difference.

  8. ..this is nice and quite large gathering..i like it. Is there some club or web site you guys have so all this is organized through it? If so, i would like to join for future expeditions..

  9. 2 hours ago check ! btw me before watching looking for products first hahaha bell already ding for next video coming.

  10. So happy for you!.Great to bond with same frequency and indeed,it was an enjoyable trip! Plus again, the fun of info sharinh and learning from each other! Best and most direct way! Keep this wonderful spirit going for years to come! Best regards from Kampar Perak Malaysia.

  11. Outdoors using the flash facing up to the sky, there is no effect as there is no wall or ceiling to bounce the flash. You are only wasting using the flash and this will only drain your batteries. Outdoors under the bright sunlight, just point the flash direct and lower the output. This way, you can light up the shadows and your batteries last longer. You only bounce when there is a white wall or ceiling. Pointing to the sky without using any bounce reflector has no effect under the bright sunlight.

  12. Next time when engaging 4wd+lockhub + reduce tyre pressure to 25-27psi if you're using H/T or A/T tubeless tyres… Your ride will be more comfort & get more traction

  13. Does the author ever reply to any single subscriber at all ?…not that i will ever post a single question😂

I usually read comments sections over serveral video cos i enjoy the flow of information between youtubers but seems like this author does not interact at all. True?

  14. Mr.Jonah Jameson :Where were you ? Photograping squirrels ? You are fired.Oh, right, you ' re unfired.Come here I need you. What do you know about the high society.Don't answer that question….my son is a astronaut , my son was hit by the Apollo ball……….bla…bla…bla…
Mr. Jonah Jameson laugh : You serious ?
    Hahahahaaaaaahahah
    Damn.
    Haha

  15. A wonderful camping trip to assist locals. Thanks for sharing the weekend and vehicle tours. I liked one of the odd one out vehicles that you were camped next to; the Land Rover Discovery….same as mine. You would probably like the coils all round rather than Toyota leaf springs. 🤔😉🙏👍🦘
