ニャチャン島巡り:現実と期待(2025年完全レビュー)
for There’s real value in doing what everyone else
does, if only to understand why you prefer doing something different. Nha Trang’s Island Hopping
Tour offered the full package. Packed speedboats, communal dining with strangers at floating
villages, snorkeling that honestly couldn’t compete with experiences we’ve had elsewhere. Each
stop revealed tourism’s different approaches. The first stop prioritized diving sales over actual
exploration. The second combined beautiful crystal clear water with some puzzling government
restrictions on snorkel gear. The third absolutely nailed the aesthetic. Perfectly placed Instagram
spots and scenic seating everywhere you looked. Warm, overpriced beer was the cherry on top.
We enjoyed the day for what it was, but mostly it reminded us that group tours, no matter how
well executed, are not how we like to explore. So we are playing tourist today for you
guys here in Nha Trang and we are going to be doing a snorkeling. It’s like a boat
tour with snorkeling different islands and stuff like that as you guys saw in the intro. But
yeah, we thought this would be cool to show you guys what’s available here. Something you should
probably do. Yeah, really excited. I can’t wait to check out these islands. Uh from what we’ve seen
online, they look beautiful and it’s going to be fun to snorkel. We haven’t done snorkeling for
a while. So, yeah. And I hope the water’s like it seems like it’s super calm and clear here. So,
we’ll get some good shots of all the fish for you. We brought the GoPro for that. So, yeah, we’re
just about to get on the boat with all the other uh minions here. And uh yeah, we’re excited
to get on a boat, just get on the water. So, the tour we booked is on a speedboat. I
thought we were going on one of the bigger ones. Again, you never know what you’re
getting. The pictures are never the same, but whatever. We’re still
getting to go out and maybe this takes us to another boat. I’m
not sure cause it’s pretty crammed. Well, that was quite the ride. If you get seasick,
make sure to take an anti-nausea pill beforehand because that’s pretty fast and the water is a
little bit choppy. So, just recommend uh yeah, if you have a problem with being on the ocean
when it’s like that or movement from a boat, especially fast like that, uh yeah, you’re going
to want to take some medication probably. So, yeah. Or make sure you book the slower boat.
They definitely look like or that. Yeah, it is still like choppy. You can see they’re moving
around quite a bit, but it’s not as fast. So, that’d be a better option. Again, that’s what
we thought we were getting, but we didn’t. So, we’re okay with it. It’s uh it is like pretty
smooth, but it is choppy. Yeah. At least it got us out here quickly. Yeah. Yeah. We’re beating
everyone. Uh, but we’re at the first stop here for some snorkeling. So, we’re going to jump in
the water. I’m going to switch to the GoPro now. All right. So, that first spot for snorkeling was
a bust. It seems like they kind of push their like diving helmet thing so you go to the bottom
and see all the fish cause they charge extra for that. So, that could be why. Yeah. Yeah. So,
we just come over with actually another group. We jumped on another boat to an island. It’s pretty
packed. It would be good snorkeling here if there wasn’t a billion people in the water already. So,
we’ll see. We’ll probably just hang out here and I’ll show you some B-roll of the island. Let’s go
hang out. And this is more like an island day for us. The snorkeling’s kind of a bonus if we can get
it. But, it’s more just hanging out on island next to a a beach on an island. We’re good. Yeah. All
right. So, we just talked to the lady again that’s on this boat and she said you can get the goggles
for snorkeling here. The other guy said you can. So, it’s a little bit of a a mix up there, I
guess. And then, uh you can rent the sunbeds. It’s 50,000 right here. Yeah. for the the full
beds and then 30,000 for one of the chairs. Oh, for the chairs. Okay. Yeah, I wasn’t wasn’t sure.
So, yeah, we’re going to find somewhere to hang out if we can. There’s a lot of people here that
are already clear water, though. It’s beautiful. Lots of rocks and stuff, but but very very
crystal clear. I can see all the way out there, all the way to the bottom. So, we’ll get some
snorkel gear and I’ll go out and show you guys if I see anything here. But, we got to find a
place to kind of just chill, get our stuff down. All right, so we ended up finding a couple
chairs right under this palm tree close to the front. And yeah, it’s uh surprising there’s
actually any chairs left cuz of how many people are here. And I got a beer. Yeah, she’s already
gone. It’s almost lunchtime. It’s okay. Yeah, I’m going to go shoot some B-roll for
you guys of the island and then I’m going to get one afterwards. But
yeah, check out the island. Heat. So, we’re sitting here having a couple beverages
and asked one of the guys, super nice guy, why you can’t use the snorkel tube at this beach.
And it’s because they’ve had a lot of issues with other tourists from Asia and uh having accidents
because they’ve not used to using it. They end up like going down and sucking in water and
some of them have actually passed away. So it’s like a government thing on this island
where you cannot use a snorkel tube and if they see like some people have brought their own,
they’ll actually like make them put it back. Um this is Moon Island. Moon is black and the
reason for that is because the trees here are a black tree and they’re super endangered. So,
it’s actually a protected reserve on the island we’re at right now. So, that’s why there’s not a
lot of like development where we sit. It’s just enough for people to come to chill and hang out.
And uh yeah, so that’s one of the reasons. And he was saying across the water there’s actually
another island and that’s where they get the the bird’s nest for bird’s nest soup. He said
that’s the real ones. They will sell fake ones around these countries where it’s made out of
aloe vera. It’s not actually bird’s nest. So, you got to make sure you get the one in a box
that’s more expensive and it’s actually from this area. So again, that’s all protected as well.
So yeah, he gave us a little history lesson here, which is nice. I like when, you know, the tour
guides come up and they explain some stuff like in the area about their their landscape and,
you know, just different cultures and different things that are protected here. It’s always nice
to learn that stuff in the countries we’re in. right, so saw a few fish down there. Again, I
don’t know exactly what all was captured on the GoPro. You guys just saw if there was anything. If
not, you just saw water. But the water’s nice and refreshing here. It’s uh it’s really warm. When
the boat’s coming, you get a bit of a like current pushing you in, but it’s pretty easy to swim in.
A lot of people are in there. So, yeah. Again, it’s cool to see some fish this time. Not like
the last spot. And uh we got about 15 minutes, then we head off for lunch. So, we’ll show you
what we end up getting for lunch. Uh they have like a variety of stuff that’s included in your
price. And we paid 700,000 dong each for this trip. And that includes picking you up at your
hotel. So, actually pretty reasonable considering they rip you out on the boats and give you lunch.
And it said something about drinks, too. But so far, we’ve just had to buy our own, which is
again a dollar, just over a dollar a beer. All right, so we just stopped for
lunch here at Fisherman’s Village, and it’s like a seafood spread. A lot of
you know we don’t eat a lot of seafood. So, there’s some pork. I am going to try some of
the uh you know what those are. Clams. They look like clams. There is shrimp. There’s some
fish I’ll try. And then um there’s a bit of a a crab soup. I’ll give it that a try as well and
see how it is. But definitely having some pork. Yeah. So, we just finished having our lunch here. Again,
a lot of seafood. So, if you are a seafood lover, you’re going to like it. But bringing garlic
butter, it uh there wasn’t a lot of flavor on the uh clams or the shrimp. They did have the hot pot,
so you could stick it in there, I guess, and have it as like soup or whatever. But but yeah, it’s
a very healthy meal and you’re eating with the locals. Like there’s very few foreigners on this
tour as far as like Westerners like Europeans, North Americans like us. Uh there might be
some Chinese, Koreans on the on here as well. Haven’t heard any talking, but uh they’ve been
speaking mostly in Vietnamese to everyone. So, it seems like mostly Vietnamese tourists here that
are from other parts of the country. But yeah, you just come out here to fisherman’s village. Again,
these are all floating homes and restaurants, and they keep the fish in nets around the restaurant,
around the homes. You can see over there, that’s all places where they keep the fish, keep
it fresh. That’s the thing. You’re having fresh, wholesome food when you’re coming on a trip
like this, which is really good. So yeah, we’re just going to hang out here. We had like
total of 45 minutes to have lunch here. And then we’re heading to another island. I think
it was called Mini Beach or something like that to hang out. I don’t know if it’s like
maybe right here or something, but probably close by. We’ve already headed back towards
where we started from Moon Island. But yeah, uh can’t wait to just kind of chill, hang out. Uh
maybe there’s some more snorkeling. I’m not 100% sure. Again, this is all new to us. And again, do
the big boat. It’s just a lot more comfortable. Hello. Oh my god. So, we just got to Mini Beach, which is just
around the corner from the fisherman’s village on this island here. And yeah, a mini beach. It’s
exactly the name. But there are a lot of lounger chairs. They are free to use with the tours. You
just got to wait cuz there’s tours that are kind of going off setting. like he was just saying
that a group of like Korean tourists were just about to leave and that’s how we ended up getting
our chair. So, these are all Korean tourists here on a certain tour. It looks really uh high-end
here. The restaurant and stuff look like uh good food. There’s comfortable seating. If there are no
chairs available, you can just get a drink instead of the table till one’s available and then get
your chair. So, that’s what we did. We just kind of sat there on a little rock, waited till people
were leaving, and then we got our chair. So, Shane is sitting there right now. But yeah, it’s a nice
little beach. Lots of activities to do. You can do the parasailing. There’s jet skiing. There’s
the banana boats. There’s all sorts of stuff that you can do here. You do have to pay extra for
that, but it is an option if you haven’t done any of that stuff. Gives you a chance to do that. But
yeah, enough rambling and show you what it’s like. Dancing on my skin. Golden light is calling
me in. Waves are washing all my fears away. Crystal waters endless blue. Every moment
feels brand new. This is where I want to stay. Feel the rhythm in the breeze.
Palm trees sway like they’re calling me. Close my eyes and breathe
it in. Let the iron life begin. We’re alive. We’re alive on this silent
paradise. Where the sun leads the sea. We are wild. We are free in the gold.
And now our life. Everything’s going to be all right. We’re alive. We’re
alive on this island paradise. Footprints fading in the sand. Take my heart,
take my hand. Let the ocean be our guide tonight. Stars reflecting on the shore. I don’t need
any more than this feeling burning bright. Feel the rhythm in the breeze. Palm
trees swaying like they’re calling me. Close my eyes and breath it
in. Let the island light begin. We’re alive. We’re alive on this island
paradise where the sun is the sea. We are We are free in the moment in our life. Everything’s going to be all right. We’re
alive. We’re alive on this island paradise. So yeah, this island is super
nice. Just having these chairs, all the palm trees. Again, you can get food
here and just like yeah, there’s the Paris, there’s the you can play in the ocean if you
want. The waves are a little bit bigger here, but it’s not too bad. If you are planning on
coming to Nha Trang or just Vietnam in general, you definitely want to get yourself an Holafly
eSIM. You want to have unlimited data here in Vietnam while you’re traveling. I’m on an island
and I actually have data here right now. So, I could watch one of our videos right now if I
wanted to. You’d be like one of the dads that are just hanging out in the loungers watching
YouTube. Must have an old sim. But yeah, it’s uh it’s nice because our boys are at home right
now. They didn’t come on this tour with us. So, we can stay connected with them. We it’s a safety
thing at that point. You can also use Google Translate. Not everybody speaks English, so if we
have a question to ask to anybody on the island, we can ask them that as well. With the Holafly
eSIMs, you can pick the amount of days that you want your unlimited data for. So if you’re
coming to Vietnam for 2 weeks, you can pick 2 weeks. You’re coming for a month, you can pick
a month, 3 months, 3 months, you can pick how many days you need that unlimited data for, so
you’re not wasting as well. You also have hotspot tethering 500 megabits per day. So if you have to
connect your laptop, say the Wi-Fi went down in your Airbnb, you can do that as well. And if you
are planning on traveling more than just Vietnam, you can actually get an Asia regional eSIM as
well. So if you are going to Thailand, Lao, Cambodia, Japan, you can get that eSIM as well.
It’s nice that they have those different options for you depending on what type of traveling you’re
doing. And you can also get yourself a global Olaf life plan now as well. So, if you are a long-term
traveler and you want to just stay connected and not have to buy eSIMS in each country, you can get
that one as well. So, super convenient. But yeah, again, sitting on an island outside in the trying,
I’ve been doing a day trip here as you guys saw and we’ve had connectivity the whole time. Been
able to share everything on Instagram right away. So, yeah, if you haven’t heard about Holafly,
click the link in the description below. You’re going to save 5% on the traditional eSIMS. You’re
also going to save 10% on Holafly plans for every month that you have it as a subscription base.
Or you can use our discount code THEDUFRESNES in the checkout. super easy that way. Save some
money, stay connected, stay safe while you travel, and just be able to communicate with the
people, use maps, all your different apps, having unlimited data is so nice. You don’t
have to worry about going over. But yeah, this is such a beautiful island. This is like a
place that you could just come for the day, like just get dropped off here, hang out. All these
little nooks and crannies you can hang out that are even quieter than this. So yeah, we’re loving
it here. Uh beer’s a little bit more expensive. It was 55 here, he said. Um, which is crazy cause
the Moon Island it was 25,000. So, a little bit more here. Again, you get the free chair. It is
comfortable. They got the cushions and stuff. So, I understand. They got to pay for like washing it
and stuff like that. So, yeah, we’re just going to hang out for a bit longer here. We have until
about 3:15 and then we jump on the boat again. And I think that’s it. I think after this we
actually head back to the mainland and uh yeah, get head home, shower off, relax, and uh but yeah,
overall it’s been a really good experience here. and uh people walking by and uh yeah, just
overall I like how they end at this beach because it’s like the wow factor. So yeah, we’ll
uh we’ll see you when we get back to the mainland. Heat. All right, so we just got back to where our Airbnb
is from the tour. We ended up taking a grab back cause the shuttle was going to be a while. They
were super busy and yeah, we’re just like, why would we wait 20 minutes? We just get a grab and
get here sooner. Well, not just 20 minutes. They were going to have to make stops on the way back,
of course, so we didn’t know exactly when they would get to our place. So, we thought, oh, let’s
just take a grab. Yeah, it’s$. Yeah, why not just do it? So, um overall, we we’re blessed. We’ve
gotten to do a lot of different tours in the past, especially with uh islands and stuff like that.
So, our depiction on this is a little skewed. If you’ve never been on one, you’re going to love
this tour for sure cause you get to go to the islands. We wanted to go out obviously to show
you guys what to do here in Nha Trang as well as see what the islands are like. There are a lot of
islands we didn’t go to. We really went to three. So, there’s a bunch more out there. Maybe they got
more on them and stuff like that, but this tour we did only went to those three islands. And yeah,
again, for the price point, it was it was good. It was a nice way to spend the day and get out
and, you know, get on the boat, be on the water, and chill on a beach. Yeah. And we’re always going
to be as honest as possible in our videos. That’s just who we are. That’s how we make our videos.
That’s the type of information that we want to provide for you guys. And there were some things
missing from this tour. We were told the two different pricing options. And we chose a tour
based on what the owner or whoever was emailing us told us it was going to include. And that’s
why we chose that specific one. But we didn’t get everything that was included in that. And some
things were actually completely different than as described. So that was a little bit disappointing.
So there were a lot of good things about the tour, but there were some bad negative things as well.
Maybe they were just having an off day. Maybe they were being unorganized. I’m not sure. But
I don’t want to tell you guys that it was 100% the best tour in the world to do. It’s fun. We’re
we’re we don’t have super high standards. We have done a lot of tours, but like we understand
we’re in a different country. They’re going to do things differently. Maybe this is just the
way they operate. They give you information. It’s not always accurate. I don’t know. But um I don’t
know. For us personally, it’s it’s not something we would do again. Um, but you need to try it, I
guess, kind of at your own risk. Communicate lots with the company and just make sure that you’re
getting exactly what they’re telling you and that everything’s as accurate as possible. Maybe
it’s our fault for not asking enough questions. I don’t know. We just kind of assume that if
there’s something on a website or we’re emailed something that gives information about what we’re
actually getting for the price that we’re paying, we expect to get that. So, Exactly. Or maybe go
on more of like the more popular booking sites and book it that way. We just found one randomly.
So maybe that’s that’s the fault of us as well. But again, there’s like a whole island we didn’t
get to go to that was supposed to be a stop as well. Regardless, it’s just right and proper
to give customers what they’re paying for, what they’ve asked for, and give them accurate
information that you’ve provided them. So yeah, but again, other than that, it was it was
a nice day for us to go out and, you know, hang out and get some sun and see the
beaches and stuff like that. So again, uh if you want to do it, definitely do it. do
your research, look at a few different companies, read the reviews. That’s the biggest thing. And I
mean, we again, we booked outside of those booking sites, and that’s what we got. So, ask lots of
questions. Ask lots of questions for sure. Um, but yeah, so we’ll leave the video off there.
If you guys did like this video, please leave a thumbs up. Comment below. Have you been on the
tours, the island tours? Is there something we missed or did you have a better experience
than what we did? Or maybe it was worse. Comment below. Let us know. Uh, if you haven’t
yet, hit the subscribe button. Hit the little bell icon to get notified when we come on new
videos. God bless and we’ll see you in the next one. Bye. Feel the freedom in your soul. Let the
journey make you home. New horizons calling out. This is what life’s all about. Chase the sunset.
Chase the dawn. Keep on moving. Keep moving on.

Good morning Shayna and Chris! I just woke up to this video. I have decided to just take one day at a time and try my best not to get too stressed!!😊
You guys are so brave to snorkle! I would be terrified!😮 The water is beautiful though!❤❤❤
I am just going to keep praying and trusting in God that one day I will have a cozy life like yours!!❤😊😇
Enjoy it while you can! We can retire there easily with slower pace and relaxed lifestyle than other crowded cities. Chills from Minnesnowta!
I saw lots of fish great job.
There is huge seafood+food outdoor supermarket call Tri Nguyen on island Hon Mieu just a mile or two from Nha Trang. Worthwhile to visit.
Hola. First off good videography as you’ve become so good at showing the beauty of each location you visited and the experience getting to and from them.
The price is really quite reasonable by N. American tour pricing, the group tours….good on you for showing what it can be like. Too many people for me and yes the mode of transportation is not for everyone.
The last group tour I did in Mexico on a water craft was really good and the experience of traveling with dozens of others is better with a larger boat.
Your opinion of the tour overall, if no one has seen the many tours you’ve been on over the years, well I’d appreciate it for sure.
Good on you for doing what, as we could see, many people book, and it’s not always what the brochure or website markets.
I still like the island you went to in Thailand when all the tourists went home you had the place to yourselves and a few others, until the tour boats arrived the next day.
Hi there,
Just wondering if it’s possible to rent your own little boat to go around exploring the islands?
I’m used to doing this in Thailand where I just hire a boat for the day, pay any island fees if needed, and cruise around hopping between spots.
Not really a fan of shared tours, especially with crowded boats and packed islands.
I’m planning a trip for March/April 2026.
Great video – cheers!
Every time I go snorkeling, I always bring bread, it attracts all the fishes to me 🤣
