「下北沢の秋祭り」として親しまれる北澤八幡神社例大祭は、毎年9月の第一土日に行われる大規模な祭礼です。最大の特徴は、威勢の良い掛け声とともに地域を練り歩く大小さまざまな神輿や山車の渡御。境内では、氏子による奉納囃子や太鼓の演奏が披露され、祭りの雰囲気を一層盛り上げます。また、数多く並ぶ露店も祭りの楽しみの一つ。下北沢の街全体が熱気に包まれ、老若男女問わず多くの人々で賑わう、地域に根差した伝統的なお祭りです。

The Kitazawa Hachiman Shrine Annual Festival, affectionately known as “Shimokitazawa’s Autumn Festival,” is a large-scale festival held annually on the first weekend of September. Its most notable feature is the procession of various mikoshi (portable shrines) and floats, large and small, through the neighborhood accompanied by spirited chants. Within the shrine grounds, parishioners perform votive music and taiko drumming, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. The numerous street stalls are also part of the festival’s appeal. The entire town of Shimokitazawa is filled with excitement and is a traditional festival with deep roots in the community, attracting many people of all ages and genders.
