Once on the island, don’t miss Guwei Lake A mix of fresh and salt water So clear and calming to the soul Step into historic military tunnels It feels like a natural air-conditioned room Are you ready for a Turtle Island adventure? Let’s get moving! Lanyang Museum – Gateway to Yilan When in Yilan You simply can’t miss The award-winning Lanyang Museum, honored with global architecture prizes Its shape resembles a tilted cuesta ridge With its peak pointing directly toward Turtle Island Gray-blue tiles and glass walls shine brilliantly Making it an architectural landmark Inside, exhibits span the “Mountain Zone,” “Plains Zone,” and “Ocean Zone” Plus a “Time Gallery” One walk-through reveals Yilan’s nature, culture, and landscapes all at once Truly the best “Window to Yilan” Do you love Yilan’s nature and culture? Want to explore every corner of this beautiful land? To discover Yilan— Start right here at Lanyang Museum Shunfeng Temple – Popsicle God of the Land Did you know Taiwan has A temple where popsicles are free and unlimited? Welcome to Yilan’s Shunfeng Temple Famous for its “all-you-can-eat popsicles” It went viral online And locals now call it the “Popsicle God Temple” The story began in May 2025 When Yilan’s Pole-Climbing Association discovered a God of the Land statue During a ritual event and decided to build this temple Naming it Shunfeng Temple for good fortune The popsicle tradition started years ago— Athletes training for the pole-climbing event were always given popsicles They shared them with locals as a friendly gesture And the God became fondly known as the “Popsicle God” Emily is here to pray and grab a popsicle Adding incense money, wishing the temple hall will soon be completed Juicy’s Preserved Fruit House – free kumquat tea is waiting for you! Did you know? Yilan grows 90% of all the kumquats in Taiwan. From November to February each year, it’s kumquat harvest season. After being hand-picked, the fresh fruit goes straight to Juicy’s. A whole year of hard work turns into little bites of sweet-and-sour happiness. At Juicy’s Preserved Fruit House, don’t rush inside just yet— a cup of free kumquat tea is waiting at the entrance. Its sweet-tart flavor instantly refreshes you with every sip. Step inside, and you’ll find all kinds of dried fruit, kumquat snacks, and even homemade jams. It’s truly a paradise for kumquat lovers—shop away! Right next door, “Ji-Box Workshop” is even more fun. Here you can DIY your own candied fruit and relax in a cozy café. Snack, chill, and snap Instagram-worthy photos. If you love kumquats, Juicy’s should be at the top of your Yilan must-visit list. Otherwise, you’ll regret it! Wanglongpi Lake – filming site of “Autumn’s Concerto” This serene lake, was actually formed centuries ago when a mountain flood created a natural basin. Its water level depends entirely on rainfall, closely tied to the lives of local villagers. That’s why elders named it “Wanglong,” meaning “hoping for rain and good harvests.” It’s a blessing for balance in nature and life. Later on, when the hit drama *Autumn’s Concerto* filmed here, it shot to fame overnight. Though the lake isn’t very large, its clear waters, scenic views, and rich ecology make it a “small but beautiful” getaway. You can soak in nature’s beauty without tiring yourself out. For seniors or anyone who loves nature but prefers gentle walks, this place is perfect. Here at Wanglongpi, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the lake, and don’t miss the zigzagging Nine-Turn Bridge— a picture-perfect highlight you’ll want to capture. Fushan Botanical Garden – Taiwan’s largest botanical garden The Fushan Experimental Forest is divided into three main areas, but only the botanical garden section is open to the public. About 30 hectares of flat terrain are used as a display area. This is Taiwan’s largest botanical garden—right here in Yilan. Admission is free, but remember to make a reservation in advance. Please stick to the walking paths. And don’t panic if you see monkeys. Never stare directly into their eyes— they might think you’re challenging them. And that means trouble! Normally though… After listening to the guide’s tips, I couldn’t wait to enter the garden and search for muntjacs and Formosan macaques. The moment I stepped in, a water plant pond came into view. It’s fed by Hapeng Creek, creating a thriving ecosystem. Not only are there schools of fish, but also colorful butterflies and dragonflies. (Clue: muntjac droppings) Just as I was still observing… the very next second, a muntjac casually walked right in front of me! So amazing! I wasn’t even looking for it— it just showed up to say hello. A little further in, we spotted monkeys foraging for food. Even though I was filming with just my phone, the view wasn’t crystal clear, but seeing them in real life was truly moving. Walking through Fushan, you naturally slow down, discovering the untouched beauty of its ecosystems. It’s a journey of unexpected encounters with nature itself. Yinong Farm – Feed the animals up close Hey, what’s going on with you two? Seriously, what’s up with you guys? Ahhh—sorry, sorry! Okay, okay—calm down, nooo! One second they’re adorable piglets… but once the bottle shows up… they instantly turn into “battle pigs”! Here, goats are the real superstars. The moment they see fresh grass… a fierce tug-of-war begins! No one gives up. Thirty years ago, Yinong Farm started with goat-raising. They provided locals with the freshest goat milk. Today… they’ve kept that tradition of freshness alive. And even created fun, unique flavors. Now, it’s not just about goats anymore. The farm is filled with adorable little animals to meet. You can interact up close and hand-feed them all. Kids love it, and parents can relax too. No wonder it’s one of Yilan’s hottest family spots! Beihou Temple – The most beautiful temple in Yilan Who would’ve thought, down a quiet country road… you’d find such a breathtaking Zen-style temple. The architecture blends Tang dynasty elegance with Japanese Zen. Every step you take inside… feels like walking through a living piece of art. The meditation rooms behind the main hall are especially stunning. Tatami floors with views of nature outside— a setting that brings deep peace and serenity. The prayer wheels along the sides are also unique. Spin one round and it’s said you’ve completed a full prayer. A simple gesture of blessing. Inside, there’s also a “Guest Hall.” You can sit down for tea and local pastries. Leave a donation or bring home peace cakes as souvenirs. Sunshine Brunch – A vintage glasshouse-style café Sunshine Brunch Café. From outside, it looks like a simple two-story house. Step in and the stairs lead you straight up. The dining area is on the second floor. Don’t be fooled by the tiny sign outside— the place is packed inside! We were lucky this time to get the cozy sofa seats. Pro tip: make a reservation in advance. The menu features toasts, breads, and rice balls. All with super creative names. Just reading the menu makes you want to try them all! Each plate comes with fresh greens and fruit. The presentation is beautiful. Plus, it includes tea or an Americano. National Center for Traditional Arts – Step into Taiwan’s past Walking into the center… is like stepping back into Taiwan of the 1930s and 40s. The streets blend styles from Hukou, Sanxia, and Lukang. It feels like time has turned back. Everywhere is filled with nostalgic charm. Puppet shows, dough figurines, jade polishing DIY—there’s so much! You can also visit… Cha Shan Fang Soap, preserving 60 years of handmade soap craft. Or pray to Wenchang Dijun for good exam luck. Then sit in front of the temple for a live performance. Even better, hop on a painted boat along Moon River. A whole new angle to enjoy the park. And don’t forget to strike the gong at Guang Xiao Hall… to end your visit with a joyful memory. Duck House Story Hall – Where you can hold baby ducklings The Duck Story Hall… was once where the Hsieh family raised ducks. But a typhoon in 2008 left it abandoned. It wasn’t until 2014 that it was rebuilt. Now it preserves duck-farming history… and shares Yilan’s duck-raising culture. Here, you can… feed ducks and interact with them up close. Guides even use a candling lamp… to show the development of duck embryos inside the eggs. At certain times… you can even hold fluffy yellow ducklings yourself. Sloth Café & Pet Paradise – So many irresistible attractions Have you ever seen a pelican sprint and then hit the brakes? Hey, what’s the rush? Oh—it’s racing to the daily highlight: the pelican feeding show, held three times a day! If you pet a turtle… around its shoulder blade area… just about here… and give it a gentle rub… it might actually stand up! Why? Because it feels good! So relaxing! And then it’ll want you to pet even more spots. Wow, amazing! It stands tall, exposing more for you to touch. Incredible! Turns out the staff weren’t kidding. Petting a turtle really makes it rise up! Alpaca, explain yourself— are you being cute… or just looking for trouble? Welcome to Yilan’s “Sloth Café & Pet Paradise.” Want to meet capybaras? Or feed playful animals? Every creature here is adorable. It’s a dream come true! And when you’re hungry, head to the Sloth Café. It’s designed with an industrial-chic vibe. Minimalist and stylish. The food will definitely impress. Wait… weren’t we here to see sloths? Somehow we totally forgot! I didn’t even manage to take a picture of them. Unbelievable— there are just too many temptations here! Dongshan River EcoArk – Cruise through a magical waterway that feels straight out of The Lord of the Rings. Welcome to Dongshan River EcoArk in Yilan. This riverside forest park was carefully restored and developed for eco-tourism. It’s just a short walk from Dongshan Train Station. Here you’ll find wide open lawns and stunning river views. The entire park stretches across 18 hectares. It’s incredibly spacious. Truly a green escape in the heart of Yilan. As you enter, stroll across the wooden “Forest Pulse” bridge. Don’t rush—slow down and take it in. This is the perfect spot to trainspot up close. A must-visit landmark for railway enthusiasts. The Dongshan Station is just nearby. Trains pass by constantly, coming and going. You’ll hear the rumble in the distance… before it roars past right in front of you. That powerful rhythm— isn’t it surprisingly soothing? Of course, the highlight here is the boat ride through the park. First stop: the enchanting “Mystery Waterway.” Sailing through feels like drifting into Middle-earth. No wonder it’s one of Yilan’s hottest Instagram spots. Tiger Rice Noodles Museum – Unlimited rice noodles included! At Auntie Jiao’s noodle stall, you can actually enjoy unlimited rice noodles. Top it with fried shallots and squid, and a spoonful of farm-fresh chili. Trust me—you won’t be able to stop after just one bite! Inside, you’ll also find vintage production equipment on display. And even a recreated 1970s street scene from the brand’s early days. It’s like stepping back in time. See how a humble bowl of rice noodles from Taiwan made its way onto tables around the world. The entrance ticket is NT$200—not exactly cheap. But it comes with a pack of rice noodles and a NT$100 voucher. You can even redeem it for a DIY workshop. And best of all—the rice noodles inside are all-you-can-eat! Pretty good value, if you ask me. Don’t miss the Tiger Bus at the entrance—it’s super photogenic. Kind of like Taiwan’s very own Catbus from Totoro! Yilan Biscuit Museum – Home of the world’s thinnest ox-tongue cookie. Here you’ll spot a gigantic ox-tongue cookie. And an oversized red tortoise cake mold. Feels like we’ve stepped into a giant’s house, right? But nope— this is the creative and fun-filled Yilan Biscuit Museum. Step inside, and on the left you’ll find the main exhibition hall. Take a walk through Yilan’s history tunnel. And learn the story behind the museum. On the right, explore old-time wedding traditions— from bridal sedans to ox carts. And of course, the souvenir shop. Cookie lovers will go straight into shopping mode. Bring home Yilan’s famous treats with you. Head upstairs to the second floor, and you’ll see the transparent production line. Visitors can watch up close how this traditional craft is made with such precision. The skillful moves of the masters create the world’s thinnest ox-tongue cookie. It’s oddly satisfying to watch. This journey took me just two days to complete. But in that short time, I gave myself to the mountains and sea. Letting nature carry away my fatigue. My heartbeat flowed with the waves, the wind, and the rhythm of it all. From the stunning Beihou Temple, to the crashing waves at Beiguan Tidal Park, the old street at the National Center for Traditional Arts, the adorable pelicans at Pet Paradise, and even the capybaras. Yilan always gives you a reason to slow down. Walking through these places, I realized Yilan’s beauty isn’t about instant amazement. It’s more like a gentle drizzle— quiet, lasting, and soothing. Or like the lingering aroma of tea— the flavor that stays with you after the sip is the one you’ll never forget. That’s the true charm of Yilan. I’m Emily. 2. 應該不是全台唯一的活火山喔~!=>AI 摘要

    台灣有兩個主要的活火山區域:位於北部都會區的大屯火山群,以及位於宜蘭外海的龜山島。
