Loše vreme me MELJE, ali ne odustajem – vozim do Dalmacije

Today I have 400 km of road ahead of me. From peaceful Maribor, I head straight to the heart of Dalmatia, towards Turanj. But heaven has other plans. The forecast predicts winds, hail and heavy rain. Everything indicates that this time it will be a struggle not only with kilometers but also with nature. Halfway, a short lull. I will stop in Karlovac to see the biker Željko. And then, the last part of the journey, on the highway through the storm towards the Adriatic. Shelter awaits me in Dalmatia. House of friend and motorcyclist Darko Kelas. This is not just a ride, this is going to be a test today. In the next two days I will be staying with Darko Kelas, an experienced motorcyclist and a host in true Dalmatian style. Stay tuned for this episode. Rain, wind, highway and biker friendship in the heart of Croatia. Čika Story is the editor of the show Rainy morning in Maribor. I am at the Bau Hotel. I go down to the restaurant for breakfast. Then comes packing and departure. My destination today is Dalmatia. In the previous days, as part of the Alpe Adria motorcycle tour, I drove through Hungary, Austria and Slovenia. Visited Vienna and Graz and met friends, bikers and enjoyed the charms of the Alps. I’ve been in Maribor for two days and now it’s time to move on to the Adriatic. I’m done with breakfast, I’m going to the garage to run the engine and then to pack my things. Soon Milan will come to say goodbye. Packing goes fast for me because I drive a luxurious and comfortable motorcycle. I don’t need rain gear. The BMW Motorrad Tour Shell is a weatherproof suit. Welcome to the new moto vlog. Today I have a 400 km long route ahead of me. The weather will honestly not be on my side, according to the forecast it will be unstable, cloudy, rainy with wind, but that will not stop me. I am ready for wet roads and windy crossings. If you like real driving and adventure, stay with me. But first, Milan is coming to say goodbye. Is it raining? Well, there is a little. A little? What is that? It’s nothing. Here it starts again. It doesn’t matter, I have a 400 km journey ahead of me today. Well, you’re good. I’m going to the sea, I guess it will be sunny there. Right to swim, to the beach. It’s going to be nice and sunny today, so you’ll do well, I think. Sure, what does it matter? Well, I want the sun to rise right away. Here the sun is slowly rising, as you appeared a little, yes. Good. I had a good rest. Breakfast is extra. The accommodation is phenomenal. Thank you for your hospitality, for the company, for the tour yesterday and the previous few days we drove around Vienna, Austria. We hung out for five days in total, right? Right, that’s right. So it was really nice, there will be opportunities for some more motorcycle adventures of ours. We hear each other. You answer. We are on the line. It was also nice for me, so these five days were unforgettable and let’s go, I hope that we will meet again as soon as possible on another motorcycle tour. That’s right, thank you. Come on, bye. I’m leaving from Maribor. I first drive through Slovenia and then enter Croatia near Zagreb. I continue on the E-65 highway. I will take a short break in Karlovac, and then continue towards the Adriatic Sea. At Zadar, I will exit the Jadranska magistrala and then drive another 20 km to today’s destination. It’s morning, 9 o’clock. The streets are not crowded yet. The air is fresh, and a light rain is falling. I passed the outskirts and entered the highway. The engine purrs like clockwork. The BMW K1600 GTL provides that feeling of confidence, comfort and power that I need when I know that a serious route and unstable weather await me. Around me the clouds are getting denser, but still no heavy rain, as if the sky is just warning me. As the kilometers pass, thoughts wander about the ride, about the people I will meet today, about the shore that awaits me at the end of the day. Here I am at the Croatian border. Behind me is Slovenia, and ahead is a new stage, a new chapter of this journey. Entering Croatia is routine, and I continue towards Zagreb, on the well-known E-65 highway that leads south. The ride is pleasant but tense. The sky is no longer gray but dark blue. The wind hits my side panniers, and the occasional drop of rain slides across the visor. Nevertheless, the BMW K1600 GTL remains as stable as a train on rails. This is an engine that knows no discomfort. Everything is under control, everything is quiet and strong. The kilometers go by and I’m slowly getting closer to Zagreb. Traffic there is denser. More trucks, more cars, but everything flows. Today, due to bad weather and heavy traffic, I am not able to go to center of Zagreb and greet my old friend Vedran. We planned to hang out, but clouds covered the sky, and the roads to the center of Zagreb were congested. I remember the last time I was in Zagreb, that I came across an interesting vintage car fair in the center. The atmosphere was fantastic. Old cars, motorcycles, people of all generations who share the love of classics. On that day, Zagreb showed its vibrant side, full of energy and passion for motorcycles and driving. I have a lot of friends in Zagreb, so I will definitely stop by here the next time I pass by. I am approaching the Lučko toll booth, the place where the roads towards the sea diverge. Immediately after the toll booth, I will come across the first Crodux pump, an ideal place for a break. I am at the Crodux gas station near the Lučko toll booth. So far I have covered 112 km. I drive further towards Karlovac. I still have 41 km to go to Karlovac. I will meet there for coffee with Željko, a fellow motorcyclist from that city. I was followed by rain through Slovenia, through Croatia it was dry weather, although the pavement was wet. After a short break near Lučko, I continue by car towards Karlovac. Another 30 minutes of driving in cloudy weather. This section is fast but demanding. Each tow truck creates an additional challenge. I enter Karlovac, a city known for its star-shaped fortress and for being surrounded by four rivers: Kupa, Korana, Mrežnica and Dobra. In the next part of the show, there will be a conversation with Željka, a motorcyclist who drives a BMW F800GS. We will talk about motorbikes, life in Karlovac and everything that makes this city special. It will be interesting, honest and fairytale. So stay with the show. We’ve only just begun. Hello, hello, hello. I’m talking to my son now , I said I was waiting for Chico Storey half an hour ago. I just said that… What does he say, he can’t believe it? Hi old man. are you good Well, how are you? Did the rain wash you somewhere ? It rained until the Croatian border, after that it didn’t, it was dry. Well, great, I think they always announce that something will happen, but maybe it will. This is where I stopped. What would that be? From great. Let’s look at the engines and admire them. Well yes. How do you live? Well, well, well. Well, you know what, I said that I came from the night, but I didn’t really sleep much, maybe two hours, I just lay there. And so, mostly there . Are you working? Well, yes, I do. You know what, I’m breaking down these last months, but I think I’ll continue working, because I have the conditions for a pension, I can go, but there’s a big difference between getting a salary and getting a pension, you know. It’s much less… Well, hold on as long as you can And I still have more… You’re healthy, you’re young, you’re capable. Yes, I mean I can… Health serves good? Yes. Well, yes. Have you ridden a motorcycle anywhere this season? I was at the service in Novema Nova. It is in Draganić. You drive through the old Karlovačka, you must have seen Novema Nova, it is one of the bigger centers. Now they build more specifically for Yamaha, they have a special one. They installed an air horn. You see her there at this crash bar. What is an air horn, first time I hear it? That is, it has a small compressor and creates 139 dB of noise, and that’s what I’ve had on every engine. And last year, in the 10th month, I was bitten by a dog because I was driving, I don’t know why, I put that video somewhere on YouTube. I was driving, some car was in some village. Yes. I looked and had to take it easy, I didn’t expect him to grab me. He grabbed me pretty hard and now I’m scarred. And I thought if he had that siren maybe it would scare him. You see, it’s a double, it has two horns and a compressor. But it draws a lot of electricity and they told me they can’t, they could lose the warranty, the motor is under warranty, it’s 10 months old. And I said: put it on me so that you don’t touch the installation. Then they connected it to the battery, relay and a special cable and put a counter under the left rearview mirror, so that I can do the perfect thing with my hand. I have two, I have the factory one and this one. I also installed deflectors. You see these and the factory alarm. I bought it from BMW Europe Moto France, I buy all the parts there and they installed it, there is a place for it in the back. And now I’ve ordered more , I’m missing them, they’ll arrive now, on the 22nd, the original side cases, because the top one, I didn’t, it’s not the original BMW, the helmet doesn’t fit for this engine because it’s not spherical like that, it’s flat And when it arrives, you have nothing left. You don’t know what. Now I came close to 21,000 EUR. Can you believe this engine? Look, here in our country the starting price for it is 12,750 in Croatia, and 11,400 in Serbia. Because taxes are higher in our country, but there is some difference in equipment. Good afternoon. What are you going to do? Come on, how about a cappuccino? Yes. Cappuccino can. I ordered you two packages, dynamic and comfort. It was, I don’t know, 2. 3,000 EUR and mists and this skit play down. And it cost me EUR 15,600 when it left the factory . I did everything little by little, little by little, and now here are the two suitcases, the regular price is 1039 EUR, but they have a 25% discount all the time online, that ‘s 790 EUR with delivery. This SV Motech 550 costs this top case. Kush, that’s all…the navigation was almost 700 original, you’re all this, I think, the alarm 400 EUR. You know it when you collect a hundred little things, sliders, crashbars, I don’t know anymore… Yes, but when you sell it, no one will count it. No, I’m all mine, you drive, I don’t drive. It’s me, you know how much I have – 1200 km. It’s worth buying a motorcycle from you. Yes… I decorate every engine for you like that. Now, when I put those suitcases on myself, call me. What can I tell you? Get in touch when you sell. I have nothing more to put on it. I put everything in and now it’s there, but considering, I’m the one who imagined it, I’ll buy a new engine considering that I’m about to retire there, I guess and then that. However, you know what, the wolf changes its coat, but its temper, not so. But I think, yes, look, this is me, this engine is 227 kg without equipment. The tank is high. Enough of that top heavy, you know what they say. Hi, she was a colleague, thank you. So this time, when I load it with that equipment, it will be 240 kg, when I put the suitcases it will be 250 kg. It is no longer a lightweight engine. And someone like your 300 and something… that’s too much for me, you know. And I don’t drive, you understand that I was thinking, maybe you could get a used 1250, and what’s the point, I’m not going anywhere. No, that’s just how it goes. But it doesn’t matter. I’m telling you, I feel like I him… Yes, I see you like it, yes Yes, yes. So you order, then wait until it arrives, and then assembly. I like it . So you admire that product for two days. Just like that… And how are you, how are you, wait, I mean where are you going now in Zadar, did you say you are going to someone’s house or not? I’m going to Zadar, that is, Turanj, that’s a village near Biograd on the sea, to be more precise, and I’m going to ride with some guys from Zadar. And on Thursday, I’m going to Split to see football player Mija Caktaš. I heard about him, yes, I mean I know And well, great. Look, now you have created such a network of your friends that you can go around Europe non-stop wherever you want. That’s phenomenal. The story is fantastic. Here you go. Thank you very much. Want to charge? It can be both. Five. It can. Thank you. I’m going back to Serbia on Saturday, and already on Friday I’m going to Greece to Kefalonia. Again? Well yes. So what again? Well, it seems to me that you go to Greece non-stop. Well, I didn’t, only for May 1. You don’t publish the series when you go. It seems that way to me. It’s not, it’s not… As if I was watching that last trip from Greece yesterday. I was in the Peloponnese last year in May, for the May Day holidays. Every first of May you go to Greece. Well, in principle you know, and that’s the best time for a motorcycle down there. It’s the south, it’s stable, you know, everywhere you go, everything is unstable. Here comes the rain, the winds and that. Sometime after May 15, I’m going to Spain and Portugal. I looked at it yesterday, I was wondering if it has the same engine as me, from the one from Vojislav. Uh, what’s up with Wise Men… Yes, Savić, yes. Well, his godfather bought a motorcycle like this. Well, now he drove well, he did 10,000 km in one year, so it’s a bit like a review, what does he think and then they announced that they are going down Portugal, Spain, are they the two of them or who? I have to call him and ask him exactly. Ask him, yes, I watched that review yesterday, wait, have you been to Zagreb with this Sinisa? No , I didn’t, he was going somewhere and this morning he called me and said: oh, don’t go, the wind doesn’t make the ferries to Korčula, he was coming back for something official, he’s driving a van there , so Šime from Zadar called me. He was foaming at the mouth. Please, you know, don’t move. The south is blowing here, I don’t know, wind, rain, I have a van if something happens to you, so don’t be tragic right now, what can I do happen? Call me anywhere, when I come in the van, man, don’t do that to me. What kind of 500 kilo van do I have, what can the wind do to me? He can’t do anything. I motorcycle and luggage on motorcycle 500 kg. Well, this engine for sure. But you know what I mean. Well, now you can, for example, you certainly had engines, but I think that this is like that wide-body plane. Yes yes yes. It also has good sound and is very reliable. Here’s the engine, it can’t, look, I don’t know, I can’t imagine anything better. In that class you have the Honda Gold Wing. I like it. Although she is a little more clumsy. Honda I don’t know the weight. But the Japanese know how to make it too. Now this one is more sporty. This one is more sporty. He can pull. It’s stronger. They lie better in curves, I think . I’m really satisfied for now. Beautiful engine. S class. S class. That’s it. I see a lot of older bikers who were with you in Serbia. Now the Slovenians. Were you with him in Lendava? Is he a pensioner or I think he looks a little bit older. But I can see that he has the will to drive. He has a 1250, isn’t he there, and he drives very well, I saw it very well. Everyone praises him when we were driving up in Austria, now and when he was with me in Serbia, he was immediately noticed and everyone says he drives great, he’s great… And you have that team of yours, that Aleša? Aleš kept contacting me. He became a grandfather. He was supposed to come to Vienna, but his sister-in-law gave birth on those very days. He got a grandson, Marko. We should see each other on Friday when I’m in Bela Krajina. I’m going to Bela Krajina on Friday to see a companion. He called me to his place. It’s a pedestrian zone here now? Look, this is now arranged for you. You see, this is Radićeva Street. Now they paid for it and banned it from traffic. You see, that church is being renovated over there. Yeah. that’s it now, you see, there’s a cafe here. so there is here. Well, there it is. It’s a zone just like that. I think it’s ok. Karlovac is a green city and now there are beautiful trees for the green. It’s nice to sit here. The four rivers are there, but I say it’s not big and it’s near Zagreb. You can reach Zagreb in no time. There is Slovenia. Yes, yes, yes. Fantastic, great area… It’s a really good location. Karlovac is beautiful. At least I like it. I stayed in Karlovac longer than I planned. I continue further towards the Adriatic. The conversation with Željko was as informative as it always is when you meet someone who understands driving, mechanics and life on a motorcycle. Željko is a direct man and what I appreciate the most is that he is an honest motorist. We cross the bridge on the river Kupa. Željko is in front of me and follows me to the highway exit. Encounters like this are why I love motorcycle tours… because of the people, because of the story, because of the connection. Željko, thank you, see you later. We hear each other. Thanks to you. Come on, get in touch… Have a good trip and get in touch. OK, thanks, all the best. Bye. Bye. After a break in Karlovac, I return to the highway and head further south. The rain does not stop, on the contrary, it intensifies. The visor is constantly wet. GTL behaves safely. The cruise control is at 120. Hands relaxed, the engine does its job without fail. Tunnels, viaducts. The highway here seems to cut through the very heart of nature. The temperature is dropping slightly. It feels like I’m on a high. The road is mostly empty. Occasionally I overtake a vehicle, but most of the time I drive alone, in silence and the rhythm of the engine. I change my position in the saddle, stretch my fingers, check the instruments. Everything is under control. After about 70 km, the pump panel appears . I am located near the town of Brinje. It’s time to buy gas, check the radar image and call Šimet from Zadar. I bought gas at the Ina gas station, near the town of Brinje, some 20-25 km above Senj. I will take a short break here and continue driving. Here’s how it looks on the map. I am here, and my destination is below Zadar, a place called Turanj, which is located in front of Biograd on the sea, somewhere here. Here’s what the radar looks like. Where it’s blue, it’s raining. I am here, where this dot is blinking. Most likely I will catch some rain somewhere along the way. Shim, what are you doing? Hello? Can we hear each other? We hear. Is it raining in Zadar? There is no rain. There is no wind. There is none. Good. There is neither rain nor wind here. It rained a little, but not terribly. There is no more rain, thank God, but there is strong blow from the south. Just be careful when you’re down there. Good. I engine and equipment 500 kg, half a ton. Can he rock me? What do you think? There’s no way I can feel the wind? I know, but regardless, the south is screwed. There is for sure. No, no, I’m kidding, just kidding. Well, quite a lot. Today, even the ferries are not running, nothing is running. That’s right, Sime, I will continue on and I will contact you when I arrive in Turanj. We hear each other. It can. Valid. Best regards, Shima. Bye bye bye. I can say that I made a wise move. It was pouring when I stopped at this pump. Here I waited for about 20 minutes. I continue on. The rain stopped . I still have 1 hour and 46 minutes to go, that is 172 km. The rain starts to fall again. There are no showers, but it’s constantly raining as if to remind me that I won’t be dry. In this section, the highway becomes more curvy with more climbs and tunnels. Entering each tunnel brings relief, but it lasts only a short time. As soon as I get out, cold air, downhill and an even darker sky. I drive carefully, the road is slippery, and the curves come quickly. Luckily the traffic is light which gives me room to keep a pace that suits me. I’m getting closer to the shore, but I still can’t see the sea. Everything is grey, compacted and wet. At Sveti Rok, I briefly consider stopping, but decide to push to the end. After almost an hour from Brinje, the Adriatic Sea appears on my right . I’m getting off the highway, direction Zadar East and Sukošan. I will soon take a short break before my final destination, which I only have a few minutes to reach. Time to finish today’s stage and find cover, because this was not an easy ride. And after 400 km from the morning departure from Maribor, I arrived at the Jadana Sea. I am in Dalmatia. In 4-5 minutes I will arrive at today’s destination, the place of Turanj. The rain stopped. I drive along the famous Adriatic highway. Temperature 19.5°. Tomorrow I will ride with Darko, Šime and his brother will also come, they are from Zadar. I hope the weather will be nicer tomorrow. The wind is blowing, but nothing terrible. The engine has excellent wind protection. And here I am entering the town of Turanj. So where are you Darko, old house? Are you alone, not accompanied? Please? Bye. You’re not with friends? Are you good, how are you? here, you? How did you travel? Excellent. Great. Did the wind blow you around a bit? It’s not. So where can 500 kg? I’m telling you, there is none, you and the engine like me. I’m a little heavier. I’m a little heavier than you. Now that I’m standing next to the sea, I can see some wind blowing, something is blowing. But from Maribor. Yes yes. And listen to this south. You see, you see what it is, and the south is very much this one. But this one, when it’s a storm, then it’s fucked. Yes. Then a little different, a little stronger… You here? That’s where my entrance is right now, now where the van came out and the jeep… Well, everyone puts these Akrapovics. Well, I’m telling you, it would be time for you . It’s a nice sound. But I like your color, this part . Here you go. This is for you. Oh, you shouldn’t have. This is for your lady. Are you there madam? There it is. Come on, I’ll bring what you need. Here you take that, I’ll take these two bags. This is smart of you, you put the bag in the box and screw it up and what do you care. Yes You don’t have anything on the tank? Well, I don’t, I don’t have anything on the tank. A nuisance, isn’t it? Well, no, I’ve never liked it on a tank , you know. Well yes. Well, I didn’t want to tell you before, but those BMWs are kind of small, so it would be nice if you didn’t have them. So we are still in the works, you know. Yeah. Hey, you see there’s wood. But there is nothing behind the house. You want to put that room and we’ll go upstairs. And it can be worse. We are still working, we have to change the door. Good. Everything is there for you, television. It’s great. I’m here, so aha. You have a room there and there, I told you three rooms if you want to sleep. Yes yes. What will I do? You have all three free. Enough one and worse now I’m doing this one worse. This master will come to me, so we will work upstairs. Not me, but he will work, I mean I ride a motorbike so it works. I just have to be there to buy him parts. Biograd is visible too late… Yes, it is really big. There’s a ship for me too. Somewhere between these two houses so I can see him too. Is there a beach there? There is. Yes yes. Here we go, we will pass down with the car. We will go down with the car. That would be all for today, and in the next episode you will find out who I rode with and where Dalmatia. Thank you for your attention and all the best. Chika Story is a real adventurer. 2. Pozdrav Bojane.

Sretan put i svako dobro!!! 👍💪🏍️
