竜神の滝と付知峡｜猛暑の中で見つけた“涼”の旅〈4K〉

The soul of a dragon dwells in the clear stream. Clear streams and people live together. Memories of unexplored land lie ahead as we walk. The scent of the fields spreads, as wild game venison curry flows. Thoughts pile up on the flowing white as we walk along the babbling brook. We head to a hidden place in Gifu Prefecture in search of coolness. First, we head to Ryujin Falls in Yumori Valley. First, Seseragi Bridge. We cross the river. Downstream, the journey begins. The water of the beginning is born from the mountains . My heart becomes clear as I walk along the river . I set out alone, the journey begins. Our journey together becomes a story . This is where the memories of the forest and water begin. A small waterfall adds color to the path. Looking up at the forest, the sun smiles. Looking upstream from a small height where it meets the river , the source of time breathes . In the distance, Momiji Bridge comes into view. Attracted by the sound of the water, I walk forward. Just before Momiji Bridge, a momentary faint flow of water… In the shadows of the signs that gently decorate the road , there is the hushed sound of water . Small hands and water reflect the summer light. Walking along the river, I head to Momiji Bridge. Crossing the bridge, my journey deepens. Beyond the bridge, a staircase leads to a new view. I climb further up. The parking lot here is closer to Ryujin Falls, but I was glad I had enjoyed the scenery up to this point. The wooden carved bear next to the bench is cute ☺ I go through the side path of the parking lot and head to Ryujin Falls . It is said that a white dragon lives at this waterfall and protects the mountains of Yumori. Crossing the Yumori Bridge, we enter a new landscape. From the bridge, we listen to the heartbeat of the waterfall . The sound of the waterfall penetrates to the soul. On this day, the road beyond the bridge was closed, so we were unable to view the waterfall from a higher vantage point. We return to the bridge and view the waterfall from the observation deck. The road beyond the observation deck was also closed due to the heavy rains of July 2025. The power of Ryujin Falls as seen from the observation deck is amazing. The twisting flow of the water forms the shape of a white dragon. The water flows from the basin into the river. Above it, the Yumori Bridge leads to Ryujin Shrine. Ryujin Shrine is located near the waterfall. It’s located in the area where people pray for the blessings of water and the protection of the dragon god. I head back to the parking lot . Crossing the Momiji Bridge again , I continue on, feeling the afterglow of my journey. Crossing the Seseragi Bridge, I head to Tsukechi Gorge . I’ll have lunch at #TsukechikyoBlue , a restaurant just a few minutes’ drive from Tsukechi Gorge. They have terrace seating with expansive views of the sky and mountains. #DragonCider seems to be their specialty. I ‘ll have wild game venison curry with rice shaped like a deer. The venison is mild and the curry is refreshing. The shrimp, broccoli, and raisin bread are also delicious! Seeking coolness, I head deep into Tsukechi Gorge. Soaked in lemonade and vegetables, the sound of dripping water, and the cool, refreshing sound of the water are what cool me down. Tsukechi Gorge has been selected as one of Gifu Prefecture’s 50 Famous Waters and one of Japan’s 100 Forests for Forest Bathing. I set off for Fudo Falls! First, we descend the stairs one step at a time. Then , a small bridge connects us to the waterfall. The quiet waterfall is a beautiful promenade with a small stream , allowing time to flow in a cool breeze. The fresh green leaves of autumn foliage shine through in the light. We slowly descend the stairs and finally see the waterfall! The force of the water, the quiet surface of Kannon Falls, draws us in . Fudo Falls is located just below Kannon Falls. The rapids of Fudo Falls captivate us. Surrounded by the sound of the waterfall , we take a breather . Next to the waterfall, we pray to Acala. We cross the suspension bridge to Sentaru Falls . I think I can make it across. It’s quite shaky…💦 There’s a spectacular view below the bridge, but my wife backs away, frightened by the heights… We turn back, so we have no choice but to go ahead on our own. From a little to the side, we can feel the power of Sentaru Falls. A bridge of this size seems safe. There’s a promenade, and it seems this area is home to a large number of Asian skunk cabbage. The gentle flow of the water is soothing. The play of light and shadow is beautiful! The promenade was incredibly cool . Following the sound of the babbling brook, I returned to the entrance of Tsukechi Gorge, where dragonflies pass by. I put in some money and took out a refreshing moment. The bubbles and the sound of the ramune clinking. Amidst the scorching heat, the forest gave me a moment of coolness . On my way back, I stopped off at “Kurikuri no Sato Nakatsugawa” along National Route 257. I took a tea break at “Baguette and Cocotte.” A bread and fruit set for just 660 yen! I ordered it without hesitation, and it even came with a drink! It was quite filling for the price. All the fruit was fresh and juicy! I asked the staff and they told me they source their fruit from the produce shop next door . I’ll stop by later. The kiwifruit was also incredibly delicious! It was a very satisfying bread and fruit set. I also bought some fruit as a souvenir from the produce shop ! We head home watching the sunset. We surrender our hearts to the breath of the dragon god and dissolve into the silence, memories of our journey. A small step leads to tomorrow. Memories of the forest reside in a dish. The sound of the waterfall echoes, echoing the afterglow of our journey. The clear stream reflects our memories. The coolness of the ramune soda envelops the afterglow , and with its freshness, our journey comes to a quiet end. Please also watch this video .
