First Impressions of Ecuador 🇪🇨 What It’s REALLY Like Landing in Quito.

Welcome back to the channel guys. Today
we’re in Quito, Ecuador and it is our first time here. We’re going to be taking
you around the center of town and just exploring and seeing what it’s like. Fun
fact, this is the second highest capital in the world. We are 10,000 feet above sea
level and when I tell you we can feel it, we can feel it. You almost feel like very
short out of breath and we’ve been wondering why we haven’t been sleeping
that well and it’s because high altitude affects your sleep and a bunch of other
things. But this is probably the highest we’ve ever been hey. And we just came from
Peru, Lima, and that was sea level. Yeah. So going from zero all the way to 2,800,
it’s rough. We were like what is wrong with us and then we’re like we started
researching it. We’re like oh okay Ecuador is like very high. So yeah anyways we are
almost in the center now. You could kind of classify this a little bit as the
center I believe. Yeah I think we’re right on the outskirts of it. We’re gonna try to
go to this Calle de Ronda. I think that’s the street. It’s kind of like a little
cute artsy street with cafes. I’m gonna just explore all around the center of the
city. We’re staying actually by La Carolina Park and there will be some
awesome content coming over there because this park looks absolutely massive. It
looks so cool. So we’re really excited to show you guys that. We also tried to take
a local transportation a bus two get here and Moovit said it came pretty much here. The
last stop was a no-go so we had to actually like ride it backwards, get back
on a different one, and then get close and then walk 20 minutes. Yeah we made it. We
made it. Some cute little balconies here. I wonder if people live up there probably.
Tight squeeze to get in here. This is his little parking spot. Look at all the cute
buildings up there. They’re all colorful and it also looks like they have some sort
of religious statue way at the top and a big square. This is beautiful. Yeah this
is the kind of bus that we took. Something that goes into one of these. I don’t know
why it didn’t come to the center here. There’s a stop for it. Oh yeah that’s
interesting. Yeah yeah because it’s not even like you could get on another one and
then come here. I don’t think that was like the last stop. Yeah oh well yeah the
pigeons for the square. You can’t square up a square without the pigeons. This is
cool. The smell of fresh paint for this. Oh maybe this is why it’s closed. Oh my
goodness. It’s under construction. Who would have thunk it? Because you said that
you’re like we can get right into the square. I’m like you know the foreigners
coming and trying the metro for the first time that’s uh I was a little confusing.
That makes sense. How did everybody else know? That’s my question. Well, locals would probably
keep up if they use it for. Their transportation. This is grand.
So this is the let’s see where we’re at right now. Yeah. Plaza de Santo. Okay. And
this monument Monumento Mariscal. That’s this monument here. Monumento Antonio Jose
de Sucre. He was in memory of the Venezuelan who liberated Ecuador from the
Spanish in 1822. Okay. His right hand is extended pointing to the slopes of the
Pichincha Volcano. His left hand rests on the hilt of his sword. Let’s go get closer
to him. Um so the volcano you can’t really it should be like maybe right over here.
I Wonder if we’ll get some mountain views. Yeah. When we were taking our uber to our
accommodation oh my gosh just the ride to get up the hill in Ecuador Quito was crazy. It’s
so cool. Because the airport’s like on one hill and then you have to go down and then
back to a different hill. And then when we’re flying in on our plane the view I’ll
see if I can pop it in here the view and like these big craters in the landscape
was yeah cool. Like probably the coolest thing we’ve seen on the plane. I think so
far. It was one of them yeah. So there he is pointing in his hand on the hilt. Wow.
Pretty cool. The guy’s got a little boombox. Couple guys have had boomboxes. That’s a way to walk around in style. for sure. I’m just loving all these
buildings. Yeah the buildings are marvelous for sure and you can now get a
better view of what we were looking at from the square. We’re just completely
surrounded by mountains. There’s so many nice views you get everywhere you look.
Yeah it’s definitely even like with it being like overcast in the visibility not
being the best it’s still very very beautiful. Well what did it say? I was
like looking up some information it said about the weather. The climate is often
described as eternal spring. So year round with the chance of rain in the
afternoon it’s usually like 10 degrees to 21 degrees. Oh so cute. Wait so this is
the alleyway we were meant to walk up. Oh so we were supposed to go down down there.
But you know what it looks like? It doesn’t really look open. It looks like a
night time. Yeah. Yeah this person literally like the the review is like I
think I went at the wrong time because I went during the day and nothing it was all
dead. Yeah so we have to go night time maybe. Oh well very cute. Yeah. Well next
next on the list. We got a good list going on here. Yeah so we’re kind of walking.
We’re on the outskirts again. Now it’s like yeah well I was gonna say like okay
let’s go walk down the street. Maybe we can go up there or does that go into
something? Let’s check the road So the main road here I guess. We could probably go like. up and over. And over one. Maybe right at
the top of this ramp. All right let’s get over. Run. We went to Korea and there was
this place called some kind of village. It starts with a G. I don’t know. It kind of
reminds me. It had a whole bunch of colorful houses. Yeah that was a really
fun experience because we climbed up the mountain to get there didn’t we? And then
that was wild. Did we ever. Two feet and a heartbeat. Yeah. People Usually take a bus
there and we’re like we’ll just like walk there but then you also have to walk
through the whole village. So by the time we got to the village we were like done.
Look at that guy. He almost has like white face paint on and it goes all the way up
too. It’s pretty darn cool. I will say the temperature is like so
nice and cool right now. You get to cover up. Yeah I just get to have like my little
coat on and it’s not too hot. It’s not too cold. Exactly. I’m always wearing the
shorts and shirt. I don’t know. I’m actually still hot. I don’t know what it
is. I run hot no matter what temperature it is. Yeah I mean I could actually take
my jacket off. I bet you in no time at all get cold again. Yeah yeah yeah. So oh this is like a little Are they painting.
Oh my gosh. Yeah I don’t know. Oh that’s cute so kids can do like painting and
play. That’s cool. Oh they get to get their face painted. Oh that’s fun. I wonder if there’s like something going
on this weekend. Yeah I don’t know. It’s a Saturday. It is. Looks like they’re
setting up for something. So now we are standing in front of the Museum of the
City. Yeah. I think you can go in there and it tells you a history of Quito and
stuff. Oh I don’t know if they would allow a film in there but. Yeah mostly they
don’t. Mostly the museums are like no. I would just stick to the outskirts of the
town. Wow. The vibes. Yeah this is pretty cool though. It’s opening right up. I just
love this. Okay I’m getting so flashbacks. Does this road remind you of something?
I’m not sure what you’re going for. The center of this crazy busy road that looks
kind of like this. I’m Thinking Europe or Istanbul or something. Yeah yeah yeah cool
yeah for sure. That’s so cool. I’m actually impressed. I’m Impressed you got it. Oh
and she’s got like a cute little coffee stand. Wow yeah with beans and everything. Oh, you can see the coffee oh cool. oh, you have cute little testers. Yeah. You want to try the local coffee? Oh sure.
So it’s chocolate from Quito? Mmm nice. Gracias. Awesome. So
that’s this? Three dollars. Five dollars. Eight dollars. $10. OK, Gracias Okay. Perfecto. All right so yeah that
coffee was actually pretty smooth. Yeah it’s a little late in the day for me to be
having caffeine so I Didn’t try it but good local coffee. It’s like it’s not too
bitter or anything. It’s just for having it black you know.
Really nice and the prices were Sheesh. Look at these little Stanley’s here. But I’m looking at the price and I’m like something’s not adding up here.
22 Americano? Stanley’s like 50 bucks. It’s a pretty close actually. Canadians we just
get taxed more for American goods. Maybe uh it seems pretty fair. you think so. I
don’t know. Is it a knockoff guys? Let me know. Get close. It looks pretty darn
good. Do they Have a nude one? Don’t go in there. Don’t do it. Yeah keep on going. I Do
want one though. Oh my goodness. Is this like a little market? Yeah you want to go
in? Hola. They got the ponchos. Bonita. si. This is really cute. 50. What is that? What’s 50? 50 cents I
think. $.50? hi Yeah it’s cute. Yeah. It’s nice. Oh you
don’t need to open it. Um this is uh I’m sorry how much? 50? No. Okay I mean I’ll get it if that’s the
right price. Yeah okay. Yeah I think it’s really cute. We’ll see. See what happens.
Here I’ll give you this. It almost looks like it’s like a little knockoff Gucci
sign kind of. Not exact but. No ponchos okay. So it would be 350. 350. I still think
that’s cute. I still think that’s a… Sorry guys. Our conversion. We’re not
getting the conversions. Okay. Gracias. Yeah. Thank you. I saw 350 on the other
one so I was kind of assuming that it would happen. Yeah no they’re super cute.
Nice purchase. Yeah I think it’s really pretty. Yeah. Oh yeah Father’s Day. Look
at that. That gives us a time frame of when this video is happening. Father’s Day
is I believe tomorrow. Oh so that’s why maybe there’s like some stuff going on
here. Yeah super cool. That guy’s the king right now. He’s Like I am father. Yeah this
is like an indoor kind of market situation. Oh very cool. The streets just keep continuing down
here. Super beautiful. And you said we were going past the Museo Escuela? Yes
Some kind of museum. Yeah another one. Are you in need of any nuts? I know you’ve
been into your nuts lately. No I’m kind of into them but then you weren’t. Oh I
can’t. Colitis is destroying this guy right now. So you know nuts are great but I have
to do more of the softer ones like cashews, soaked chia seeds overnight
maybe. It is so busy. Yes. It’s so busy down
here. It’s just getting busy. As night creeps in. Oh my goodness there’s like some really
crazy walking sticks here and they’ve carved the top into like a skull or a
wizard. That is so cool. Yeah. My dad I feel like
would love that. Maybe someday we’ll need one hey. There’ll be a day. But there’s
all kinds of things that are handmade here. Yeah. So many And made things. horsehair.
Interesting. Yeah. Wow. Tops and everything. Oh my. Holy yeah. Oh my
goodness. This is wild. And we got Wolverine over here. That building is
outstanding. Yeah look at how like the pillars swirl. Holy ****. That’s actually
incredible. The detail on that. Church of the Society of Jesus. Man that’s
intricate. I just have no words. It’s like starstruck. Like we say this so often but
it’s like when you think of how long and the detailing it takes to make something
like that. Out of stone or any of those. It’s just incredible. Yeah. What a cool
place. Beautiful center of the city of Quito. Yeah. Oh cafe. Yeah. Oh okay. And the same?
Different? Mochaccino. Can we try both? Okay. Let’s try both sweetie. What’s that one? I heard mochaccino. I
don’t know what that one is. That looks like Horchata. Coffee and this is the
chocolate. The chocolate. It’s very good. Wow. It has some sort of like. The cafe.
This has some sort of like crema in it or something. Oh it’s so delicious. You have to try this one. I love what I
just had. So this is called star starts start win Brewery. Okay. Tours and
chocolate tours. Amazing. Gracias. Gracias. I like the first one and you like
the second one. I like both. Yeah they’re both very good. Oh my gosh both so good.
Oh we got some homies playing some music. There’s all kinds of things. oh, the
puppy getting carried. You want a little rodent shelbs? What? With
red eyes. A lot of things to look at. My eyes are
darting everywhere. Oh yeah crispy cream. There’s crispy cream here guys. Delicioso.
Amazing. The cake batter donut is a must try. Like it has changed my whole life.
That’s All I’ll say. Yeah. Another just amazing building. we see these bracelets here and you can
get names on them and I think they’re the girls trying not to go in front of you.
It’s fine but I think that they’re a dollar or maybe it’s a dollar to get the
name. I’m not sure I’m gonna ask but we want to get my dad something funky because
he loves weird stuff like that so we’re gonna see if they can do a bracelet. Hola.
The bracelet is it one dollar? One dollar. Okay and can you um do this name?
Write it down yeah. Can you do two words? Two words? Okay sweet. Cool. So Three minutes. Three minutes that fast. Rapido Okay and then can you do um maybe just
black? Well they gotta do different colors but black for the band. Main black. No
black and white. What do you mean different colors? Yeah yeah okay. Yeah and
you can do black and white? Okay. The Rog. My dad’s name is Roger. Look it
looks like he’s set up to do black and white sweetie. Yeah okay. That’s awesome.
Is it? Yeah it’s uh yeah T-H-E-R-O-G. Yeah, the rog. That’s so cool. Yeah that’s really cool.
Excited. wow Oh my gosh. I’ve never seen this happen before. Me
either. What a cool fun thing to do. How many bracelets do you think this guy’s
made everyone? Comment down below because he’s going so quick. Oh my god the T’s showed up and the H. He’s making an E. Oh my god now I want
more made. Just to watch it. Just to be able to experience this. That is insane. You got an R showing up. I
never thought that this would only take three minutes. And the fact that it’s a
dollar. He’s gonna love this. My dad is literally gonna love this you guys. ah, Very Bonita Muy Bonita yeah. Where did it go? Ta-da. Magic Okay I’m sorry he is the cutest thing I’ve
ever seen. That was so sweet. Wow what a fun place. Yeah my goodness he’s got a
nimble little finger. The Rog. Oh that’s amazing. No, just one. Uno yes.
Muchas Gracias Wow he just went so quick. Look at this.
That is so freaking cool. Oh my god my dad’s gonna love it. Yeah that’s so cool.
I hope it’ll fit his big wrist. Will it fit yours? Yeah. Yeah. Oh I’m so happy. I
honestly want to get one made for everybody. He has another the rog. Give that
to your mom. He’s like two and we’re like oh just one.
He’s like OK and I was like. No gracias. No thank you. Look at this.
Look at this. Hello. Hello. How are you? Nice to meet you. Hello. Oh my goodness.
Cutie. Look at those glasses. It’s like coming out of like a thing that I don’t
even like. What is that? I don’t know it looks like a little ketchup bottle and
stuff. That’s so interesting. Yeah let’s check this out. One dollar. One dollar.
What is it? Cream? One dollar. Cream? Okay let’s give it a whirl. Yeah. We’ll try one.
One dollar. Oh yeah. Sí. Very cool. This is such an interesting contraption. Oh
cream. You love cream sweetie. I do love cream.
No oh no it’s okay. It’s okay. What? I don’t want that. Why? It’s like
strawberry. Okay. Yeah no no I’m good. All right. Gracias. Muchas gracias. Sorry
Chase. Adios. I honestly I don’t like artificial strawberry and I just I know
that that’s probably what’s going to be in that bottle. Look at this. It’s not whipped cream. It smells funky. Oh no. It smells
fermented. Oh god. It’s like it’s like fermented or
something. Side note. We’ll explain the flavor after. Look at this guy. Oh wow. That is like beer. Is this alcohol? I
guess I gotta throw it away. Oh you know what? I think it’s. Oh there giving this to
kids. Kids were getting this but I don’t know. It tastes really fermented. Maybe
you shouldn’t drink it. It’s really it tastes like beer to me. It’s like some
funky beer. I thought this was whipped cream. Um okay I don’t know. It’s like
fermented cream guys. It’s like it’s like beer like yeast. It’s not for me.
Interesting. To independence Square And everyone is just relaxing chilling
and enjoying the weekend. This is what people do at the squares. It’s really
nice. It’s honestly a place where people can just like slow down and just yeah like
enjoy the weekend. Yeah. Like every time we come to one of these squares everyone’s
just like relaxing and just. Look at him and his red jacket. Everyone’s just like. So cute. Look at that little boy. Yeah. Wow that cream funk is still. That was so deceiving That was wild. I was expecting like a nice
big thing of like whipped cream. I don’t know. What was that? Gotta look it up.
What the random foam of Quito is. This is the independence sculpture Just so nice. Really beautiful. This
square is like really modern. It’s like got really nice gardening Groomed hedges. Tightly groomed hedges Yeah it’s feeling that vibe. That looks
better. It’s like a popsicle of cocoa Super cool. There is a lot of very unique
food items and things going on here. We’re gonna try guinea pig soon. Yeah yeah next

skip that one if a guinea pig eating. But it won’t be yeah it won’t be all guinea
pig eating in the Quito series so. Holy it’s wild. I don’t know where to go This is crazy. I’m just following the people. Yeah. It’s a hot commodity that’s out. It’s all

  1. Ecuador es hermoso. Yo soy de guayaquil no te dejas llevar por todo lo que esuchas en las noticias. Visita guayaquil cuenca baños de agua santa galapagos montañita olon y alginos mas

  2. In fact, Simon Bolivar was a criminal who was financed by England and English Freemasonry, And the elites of that time who couldn't stand that the Spanish crown controlling them, bolivar didn't liberate anything. What they did was separate us from Spain, because at that time, two centuries ago,
"we weren't from Spain," but we were Spain! The only ones who liberated themselves were those criminal Creole elites. And to this day, they repeat and repeat those lies. Look how our Andean countries have become impoverished. Today, these Hispanic countries are the estates of these criminal elites. They are the only ones who are free; the people are not!

So it wasn't "independence" it was separatism

  3. Welcome to Ecuador, I'm visiting as well and its beautiful country, people are very kind and its not problem so ever! Enjoy your visit 🇺🇸🇪🇨

  4. Welcome, but please use the correct pronunciation for Quito otherwise it sounds unintelligible and completely off (the u is not pronounced after the Q and the t is pronounced like the t in Tomato not as an R – "Kito" maybe)

  5. Welcome to Quito guys! I will recommend you to plan your walks asking to some locals, at the beginning of the video You were about of walking the 24 de Mayo Avenue, which is not very safe at the hour of the day you were visiting. Do not get scared, the city is pretty safe if You know where to go and where not to go. Also, if You are staying near Carolina Park, it was easier to get to the Historic Center by Subway, ask where the station is. The fermented thing You ate is called Ponche and it's made from barley, thus the beer-like flavor, and yeah, it is not for everyone, more of an acquired taste 😂. And after watching your video, I consider there is need of English clases for the entrepreneurs in the Center 🥴. Enjoy the city, You Will love it, You can expend almost a whole week just knowing the Center.

  6. Hello, Ecuadorian here. Watched the whole video. I live in the United States. I do visit my country often. In the video opening, the plaza is called Santo Domingo. The statue is to honor Antonio Jose de Sucre who fought the last battle for Ecuador independence. The church is where I made my first communion. Basically, that's my neighborhood. Word of advice. Never buy anything to eat from the streets. I learned my lesson on a trip to Venezuela. Sick for half of the time of my trip. Take care and great job on the video.

  8. A huge hug for you both and welcome to Ecuador, hope ypu have the best experience visiting this little and amazing country. You will find the sweetest and kindest person to help and guide you (we love and respect tourists). And do not miss any chanec you have to try de most delicious food in the world. Hope you can visit a piece of each of the 4 regions. 😀 😀 😀

  9. 19:40
Nooo 😅 why you tried that 👎🏻 is bad but the worst is espumilla ❌ don’t try it lol omg Ecuador 🇪🇨 have delicious food it is my favorite ❤ food but obviously not everything lol you need to try the best (smoothie frozen yogurt ) 🥤 literally only Ecuador have it the place is called naturissimo 🌟👌 also you need to try avena polaca 😍you have to ask somebody because is hard to find it 😅 hornado is delicious , helado de paila ❤❤ humita 🫔 with coffee ☕️, mote con chicharrón ❤, tres leches cake 🍰 in place called sweet&coffee 👌 llapingachos, lentils with rice at kfc 😂 seriously 🍛 is super yummy , try encocado de camarón 🍤 aplanchados from a place called Hansel&Gretel also turrón de macadamia in a supermarket called megamaxi or supermaxi another sweets called kandycris 😍

  10. If you still stay in Quito; I offer you; a RBMB…; in the chillos valley; I have a good place there…, and a tourist guide, and advice for you trip!

  11. The houses on the hill are called "invasiones". Basically the locals just claiming the land without any legal process. I haven't been back in a while so this may have been legally settled since i was there

  12. The altitude of Quito is 2850 m (9350 ft) above sea level. Because of this elevation, Quito has a moderate climate even though it is almost on the equator. Some say that Quito is the second highest capital city in the world in terms of elevation. (Do you know what capital city is higher?). The process of your body adapting to the lower oxygen levels is called acclimatisation and it takes about 3 to 5 days.

  13. You stood right in front of the church of the compania de Jesus (Jesuits), a real jewel, and did not in! It is awesome.

  14. "First impressions of Ecuador" and shows the streets with illegal staff selling on streets. Ecuador is not only that but it is a typical gringo reaction when they travel to show some exotic shit when they travel.

  15. Investor friends from the US, I'm selling a modern, well-located apartment in Quito with all the necessary documents. If you're interested, contact me and I'll give you more details.
