Hello🎵It’s Pyon🐰 The beautiful fragrance of winter daphne wafts through the air in mid-March I’m currently in Izu Yugashima, Shizuoka Prefecture. This is a Ryokan that I’ve been wanting to visit for a long time. I’ve finally been able to visit it. The Ryokan I’m going to introduce to you today is “Tanigawa no Yu Asebino”. The wild rabbit at the gate beckons you to a “healing forest” rather than a magical land Izu City in Shizuoka Prefecture is one of Japan’s foremost hot spring resorts due to the quality of its hot springs and natural environment it has always attracted many people There are many high-class inns scattered around the area, partly because of its good access from the city center. Among these, the inn that is particularly well-known for its high level of customer satisfaction is Asebino. First, when you enter the front door, you are greeted by the open-plan lobby facing the Nekko River. Check-in is at 2:30 p.m. I completed the check-in procedures while enjoying some sweets and tea in the lobby. There are a total of 19 rooms, and all of the rooms have open-air hot spring baths with natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source. The room I will be staying in this time is room 107 in the Valley Warehouse. The price will be announced at the end of this video, so please watch while estimating how much it will be based on the contents of the room, meals, facilities and services in the hotel Please watch as you guess how much the fee will be! The features of this room 107 are that it is the only one of the 19 rooms is a completely Western-style room and is also designed to be barrier-free can also be used as a connecting room with the neighboring room 105 The bathroom is on the left as you enter the entrance hall. As this is a barrier-free room, it is designed so that you can spend your time in comfort in a wheelchair. Anyway, the space is very spacious, and handrails have been installed at key points. This time, we weren’t particularly particular about this room. When I made the reservation, this room was the only one left, so I ended up staying in room 107. I really liked the spacious design of the room, and I was very satisfied with the result. The contents of the refrigerator are limited to 2L bottles of water, which are free of charge. Other items are charged for and you declare them when you check out. You can have these bean snacks for free. After entering through the front door and passing the drinks corner, there is a TV and a dresser. It looks like you can also watch Netflix on the TV. If you go further in, you’ll reach the living area There is a sofa and a table near the window, making it a relaxing space. And facing the living corner is a semi-double bed with two beds. The spring was firm but not too firm, so it was just the right level of comfort for me. The space between the bed and the bathroom is a closet. The fact that they have prepared two types of clothing, yukata and samue, is a nice touch. They have prepared them to suit the height of each person. There is no dress code, including in the restaurant, so you can relax and enjoy yourself. The retro-style safe is cute. Now let’s look outside the window. There are chairs on the terrace. The air of the great outdoors, where the chirping of birds and the sound of the river blend together The poet Wakayama Bokusui composed a poem like this in this village The flowers of the Japanese andromeda, which bloom in clusters of short tassels, are the same flowers that used to decorate the entrance so prettily. The flower language of the Japanese andromeda is “devotion”, “pure heart” and “let’s travel together”. The Japanese andromeda, which has a flower language that perfectly matches the inn’s concept, It has long been considered a tree that wards off evil, and there are many of them planted around here. There were more amenities in the simple washroom than I had imagined. Toothbrush and cup Hand soap, men’s POLA skincare products, hair styling mousse In the basket, there are razors and shaving gel. Cotton wool, cotton buds, hair bands, shower cap. Towel for washing body, hairbrush For women’s basic skin care products, try Leaf and Botanics. They have a luxurious selection of make-up removers, massage packs, soaps, lotions, moisturizing creams, and beauty serums. It’s great that there’s a make-up remover in the room from the start, and I’m happy to see the sake lees pack! There’s also a towel warmer, and there are lots of towels hanging up. This is the open-air bath in the guest room that I was looking forward to! The bath is built with quaint rocks, and there is also a space where you can take a shower in one corner. The water pressure of the shower was strong. Leaf & Botanics shampoo is also used here. Asebino’s hot spring boasts five private hot spring sources and an abundant supply of hot water. All 19 guest rooms are equipped with open-air baths with 100% natural hot spring water. The open-air baths in the guest rooms are a joy, but there are also There are four private open-air baths and a large public bath with an open-air bath In total, there are six hot springs, all of which are said to be natural hot spring water, so I’m very impressed The spout of the hot water seems to tell you how concentrated the hot spring water is. The crystals of the hot spring water that are densely attached to the surface are a sign of good hot spring water. The stones are shaped like pillows You can adjust the temperature yourself You can feel the care that has gone into even the smallest details. The terrace and the open-air bath are next to each other, but The wall between the rooms is designed so that small windows can be opened and closed. It’s a luxury to have a hot spring bath and a good view in the open air bath attached to the guest room. The facilities in this hotel are very well-equipped, so After that, let’s go for a walk around the hotel. In the lobby where we just checked in, There are barley tea, black tea and coffee machines, which you can use for free at any time. As it wasn’t busy except around check-in and check-out times, This is a relaxing space where you can take a break between moving around in the hotel. Between the lobby and the main entrance, there is the front desk and a shop. The large public bath is named “Seko no Yu” after the valley in front of it, Seko Gorge. The hot spring water gushes out from the riverbed. Seko no Yu is open from 2:30 p.m. when you check in until 10:30 a.m. when you check out. It can be used freely, and at 1:00 a.m., the men’s and women’s baths switch sides. Izu Yugashima is famous for Joren Falls and the Amagi Pass. Its history is long, and it is thought that people have been enjoying the hot springs here for over 1000 years. Gold was mined here in the 14th century, and the area reached its peak around 1600. Because it was a hot spring village blessed with a mild climate and beautiful scenery, From the Meiji to the Showa periods, it was loved by many writers and artists and appeared as the setting for many novels and poems Kawabata Yasunari stayed here for a long time and wrote a work called “Memories of Yugashima” and only the memories of the dancer were extracted the famous novel “Izu no Odoriko” the clear streams and healing hot springs that have remained unchanged since ancient times With the addition of modern comforts, we are able to enjoy the ultimate in benefits. There are many showers in the large public bath, so I don’t think you’ll have any trouble with it being crowded. There is a place to rest called “Yamafuji” near the large public bath, and Towels, toiletries and drinks are provided, so you can come here without having to bring anything from your room All 19 rooms have open-air hot spring baths, so maybe that’s why many people relax in their rooms Everywhere in the hotel was quiet and had a relaxed atmosphere. The facilities in the hotel were very well-equipped. In addition to the large public bath, there are also four private open-air hot spring baths. The first one I’d like to introduce is the Kawasemi. The four private baths can be reserved after you check in, using the tablet in the room. I reserved all the private baths, two for the first day and two for the second day. The bath at Kawasemi is distinctive for its octagonal bathtub made of Izu stone. It has a refined and elegant atmosphere. Next, I will introduce you to Yamanoyu Kazahaya. It is located on the terrace on the third floor, the top floor of the Azebino building, and it is the largest of the private baths. When using the private bath, go to the front desk 5 minutes before your reservation time to receive the key and towels The large public bath and the private bath, Kawasemi, that I introduced earlier are close to the river, but this one is on the third floor, so You can enjoy a different atmosphere with the view of the forest from a higher vantage point. The hot spring at Asebino, which has five natural hot spring sources, is is a mixed spring of simple hot spring and calcium sodium sulfate hot spring. The pH value is 8.34, which is slightly alkaline, and it is gentle on the skin and has a low irritancy, but it also has the effect of making-up remover for old keratin and excess oil. It’s getting dark outside, and it’s time for dinner. We’ll be eating at the restaurant “Shunko Dining” on the first floor. I like the fact that all the rooms are private rooms. It’s a private space, so I can relax. We could choose between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for the start time of the meal. The meal was a course of kaiseki cuisine. The first dish, with chopsticks, was set on the table in time for our reservation. This is a dish of asari clams and bracken, bound together with a ball of rice. You can really taste the umami of the asari clams. It’s the season for delicious wild vegetables and shellfish. Today I ordered a non-alcoholic lemon squash. Next is the appetizer, which is a dish with a variety of seasonal ingredients. Simmered firefly squid in a light soy sauce broth Bamboo shoots grilled with miso and kinome leaves Salmon hand-rolled sushi The skewers from the top are: konbu with roe, black soybeans, and fried fava bean flour Inside the bowl with a lid is roast Japanese beef and garland chrysanthemum with almond dressing Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, and Shizuoka Prefecture, which is home to Suruga Bay, the deepest sea in Japan, is a treasure trove of food that boasts one of the largest varieties of agricultural and marine products in the country. Next is a soup with clams in it. The ones in the foreground are shiitake mushrooms and tsuruna greens. The scent of the tree buds makes you feel the arrival of spring. Next up is a platter of sashimi. Flounder and flounder collar, seared redbream, tuna (lean and fatty) Scallops in the back The shells are so cute! Izu is famous for its wasabi, so it’s great that they’ve prepared plenty of it! The abalone steak has been brought in. Underneath the abalone are spring cabbage, bell peppers and shimeji mushrooms. The brown sauce is abalone liver sauce. And the main dish is meat. It’s a sirloin steak made from Japanese beef. We’ll eat it with the sauce made from the new onions next to it. The part of the steak is sirloin, so it was very fatty. The side dishes are new potatoes, pumpkin, asparagus and eringi mushrooms. The fried dish has arrived as a strong side dish. It’s fried soft shrimp in a thin pastry. Kadaif is a type of wheat noodle that is thinner than somen. The prawns and butterbur were both crispy and very delicious. The steamed dish was oysters steamed in the Toji style In kaiseki cuisine, dishes that use yuba (dried bean curd) are often named after Toji The combination of the green laver paste and ginger went really well with the oysters. This is the final course. The red miso soup was mild and just right. The rice is sea bream rice. The pickles were not too salty or too weak. The overall amount was also not too much. By the way, you can have as much rice and red miso soup as you like for free. Finally, it’s time for dessert. The fruit is melon and strawberries, and in the bowl in the back is cherry almond Jelly, and on the left is sesame ice cream. I was able to spend a good dinner time in a private room where I could relax. The staff are all at just the right distance from the customers, so it’s comfortable. The staff were polite and had a refreshing atmosphere, so I was able to relax without worrying about anything. After returning to my room and resting for a while, I’ll enjoy the open-air bath in my room again. While being enveloped in the sound of the river and the clean air of the forest, I was immersed in a happy mood, thinking that this was the best Ryokan. Good morning. I had a reservation for the private bath from 7:00 today. First, I’m going to the “Yamasemi” bath, which is next to the “Kawasemi” bath we used yesterday. It’s the middle of March, and the temperature this morning is about 5°C Thanks to the hot spring, my cold body instantly became warm I had reserved the private bath ‘Neyu’ from 8:00. This is an open-air bath with a rustic feel, the closest to the Nekko River. There are stone pillows, so you can enjoy bathing while lying down, just as the name suggests. There is no fence between the hot spring and the river, so you can feel like you’re bathing in the river. The morning sunlight is pleasant. I will have breakfast in the same private dining room as last night. You chose your time and meal when you checked in yesterday. The time options are 8:00 or 8:30. The meal options are Western and Japanese. We ordered one person each of Japanese and Western food, so I will introduce both. As we sat down, the hot dishes were brought out one after another. The tofu is made from domestically produced soy beans. The fish is saikyo miso sauce-grilled Japanese butterfish and dried horse mackerel. A dish of pumpkin, carrot and fish cake. Tuna with grated yam and simmered hijiki Scrambled egg with grated radish Peanut miso, pickled wasabi stems, soybeans and seaweed in soy sauce A relaxing Japanese breakfast Both the Japanese and Western-style meals come with salad. The dressing is sesame and yuzu soy sauce. Next, we’ll introduce some Western-style dishes. Consomme soup with vegetables and bacon Home-made bread The main plate has chicken stewed in tomato sauce and sausages scrambled eggs, spinach and bacon in butter various vegetables on top Thank you very much for delicious food The last thing I’d like to show you is the Seko hot spring bath The baths are switched between men and women, so they’re the opposite of yesterday’s. It’s as if two streams are running side by side. The two large open-air baths that stretch along the Nekko River are a spectacular 48m² on the upstream side and 35m² on the downstream side The bathhouse, with its natural stone arrangement, blends in with the earth and is filled with a wonderful sense of freedom The hot spring at Asebino has a high heat retention effect and you can really feel that your body stays warm for a long time even after you get out of the hot spring It was a wonderful inn that I would definitely like to visit again. I will guide you on how to get there. Asebino is located in the middle of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture in the town of Yugashima in Izu City. From the center of Tokyo, it’s a 2.5 hour drive or about 3 hours by public transport. Now, I will announce the prices. Surrounded by the wonderful natural environment of Nakaizu, “Tanigawa no Yu Asebino” The guest rooms have open-air hot spring baths with 100% natural hot spring water, and in addition to that, there are four private baths and a large public bath, and You can enjoy the most luxurious hot spring facilities. You can enjoy a seasonal Japanese kaiseki dinner course in a private dining room, and breakfast with a choice of Japanese or Western food. How much is the total for one night and two days for two adults in one room? This time, we stayed on a holiday, not a weekday, during the spring break season in March. The answer is 69,300 yen. On weekdays, room 107 in the Valley Storehouse starts from 63,300 yen. The cheapest room, the Yamano Kura, starts from 59,400 yen. How did you like this video? 1.
