[Music] Hey guys, George Flo Parks after dark. Okay, we are here Animal Kingdom Lodge and we’re at Kadani Village. There two resorts back here at Animal Kingdom Lodge. There’s Jambo House which is a very large resort and then there’s Kadani which is a DVC primary property but anybody can get a room here. It is really just an outstanding space is a smaller space a little more intimate and if I were to tell you the truth best pool in all of Disney World is here. Check the video we have on that. But let’s go in and show you the lobby. So, as with all animal kingdom, heavily African inspired lobby, which is beautiful. They have the lights hanging down with the glass blown that makes it look like there’s fire coming out of it. They have the the the pipes coming up again fire. As you come through, here’s the front desk checkin. And they had that thatched roof that really gives you that sense of inside out feel that you’re just part in a village and you’re inside outside in a courtyard but really in the lobby and there’s the entrance and we’ll come back through the store in a second but I want to show you something. So this is the store the Jiari and Jiari is a great store. We’ll back to that in one second but we want to show you some other stuff first. In the back of Kadani as well as Jambo House they have this wall of glass. It’s it lets us an incredible amount of natural light in. But what it also does, it goes out onto their Serengeti, their safari. Um, and what we have is we just had some rain. So, we’re going to go out here and show you. So, down the lobby, check in to your left. You keep kind of going around the corner here. You come in. And then when you come out here, there’s these balconies that right off lobby level. And they’re really fantastic because these balconies have those rocking chairs and attached to those rocking chairs is that view. So literally you get a chance to see all the African animals. You got zebras, you got wilderbeast out there. And you forget what those guys are with the horns are I think gazels. We’re going to call them gazels. Over here, if you look way over there, there’s a zebra walking a giraffe. I will forever call them zebras. That’s a giraffe. And so you can come out here, sit down rocking chair, grab a cup of coffee, grab lunch, and watch the animals. And what’s great about this, it’s free. Even if you are not staying at the resort, you can get on the property with the reservation and come out here. Now, what is that there? That’s a walkway that goes out into the Serengeti into their safari, the fire pit. There’s a fire pit down in their center section where they do their s’mores, but you’re further kind of immersed in the animals because you’re not up against the building. It is fantastic. Now, there’s one here on the left side of the lobby and one on the right side of lobby. Go to both different animals on each side sometimes. So, that’s this piece. Now, we’re going to go back inside and show you this. So, we’re going to go back in. So, now we’re going our lobby’s to our left to our right. Goes down the hallway. where the rooms are. We’re going to go to our left and come back out in the lobby section. Now, we were to continue down stairs. They have SA. Now, SA is a restaurant that is here. It is a fantastic table service restaurant, heavily Africanpired food, which is fantastic. Um, and it is one of only two African inpired only two table service restaurants in Disney that do takeout. This is on um, steak 71 in Contemporary. That’s enough. Just got lunch from there. Actually, a little snack. And we’re not going to go in. People are eating right now. But that’s the entrance that kind of goes in. And it has windows that line the entire space where you can go out and see that safari while you eat. It is wonderful. The food is outstanding. We just got bread service and that is a huge huge thing is the bread service because the bread service is fantastic in the fact that welcome back. In the fact that if you get a takeout bread service, it gives you all the different kinds of bread. There’s the zebras again. Oh, there’s a great shot of this giraffe. Yes, I said it right this time. There he is. So, if you get the bread service here, you get all the breads, but then you get every sauce that comes with the bread service. Usually, if you order in the restaurant, you pick four. We’re going to come home with 12. It’s a good day. There’s that fire pit I just talked about. It’s fantastic. It’s gas, so the flame comes up through there through the gas piping. And just in case it wasn’t great enough to watch animals, let’s get up close personal as they kind of parade by. So those are the zebras that just kind of hanging out here here in the park. We’ll come around and show you this. The giraffe is kind of doing his dance. Those two giraffe are doing their thing. So yeah, it is really just a wonderful space. You can come out here and just enjoy this. And again, I mentioned it. It’s free. You can pay the ticket price to go to the Animal Kingdom Park and ride that safari and maybe you see the animals or you come here and you definitely see animals. Now, real quick, we talked about that glass wall. That’s that right ahead of you. That’s lobby level looking out. We’re looking in and right there, that’s the balcony we were just on where we saw the animals. What we love about Kadani, love, love, love about Kadani is it is small and it is very intimate and it is just really a great space. How are you doing? How are you? So, let’s go back up lobby. We love the fact they do this. They have rock outcropping that you have to walk around. So, we’re back at SA. We’re going to go back upstairs now. So, we’re going to head upstairs. And again, there’s the two giraffe. This is actually a great shot of two giraffes walking by the zebras. There’s the two zebra we saw earlier coming this way. Oh, they’re zebras. Make that three zebra. I mean, three giraffe, three zebras, five zebras, three giraffe. It sounds like we’re doing algebra. Okay, we’re going to walk up. We’re going to continue back up lobby level. So, we had gone originally to our left off lobby. Going to our left, our right off lobby. Now, passing the story here on our right like we talked about. That is the other balcony area right there. So, what’s great is they’ll have this. This is a fantastic sitting room. It’s inside. It’s air conditioned. It is August in Florida. It is hot. It is not kind of hot. It is hot. But this is air conditioned. Lots of glass. They actually have a round a curved seating area here in front of a fire. That’s really good for those winter nights. It is. And they have all these little niches with all these African artifacts in. We just really love this space. They have TV. They probably do movie nights here as well. So, it’s just a great spot to come. And that’s just off the lobby. If you were to continue down this hallway, which by the way, we’re going to continue down this hallway. That’s the other door to the city area. Hello. How are you? How are you? And then in here is the community hall. What is community hall? It’s just a place to do games. They have a pool table. They have foosball. They have checkers and chess. They have video games back there. So, it’s a place you can kind of come in. It’s open 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. It’s hot out. You’re off the park. You want to come someplace and not be in the lobby, not be in room. This is a great spot to be. They also do have a safari so good arcade which is in there. And then further down the hallway is laundry. Now, you would say, “George, why are we talking about laundry?” I’ll tell you why. Disney has created an app for your laundry. Yes, there’s an app for your laundry. When you push your laundry in on the washer, if you do the app, it’ll tell you when your laundry is done. It’ll tell you where your laundry is. If you put on turn on the app before you go down, it’ll tell you if there’s an open washer or an open dryer. Yes, I am serious. It is the best thing ever. So, that’s the lobby. That’s the two balconies. That’s all that. We haven’t seen the one thing. We haven’t seen the store. Jihari is their African store and we’re going to take a peek in that right now. This is a cute little store. We want to show you because we just love the store so much. Now, walking in, you have a lot of the African pieces. Here are some walking sticks. Now, they’re not cheap cuz they’re handmade. It’s $155.99. The elephant, the top, it has an animal print. It is probably six feet tall. Oh, nope. It’s not about five, I’d say, or four. So, there it is. But what it is is handarved. Um, and so that’s it. So, they have ones with the elephant. They have some with rhinos. They have one with I got to call it a muskrat. There’s a whale. And then there’s a bear. So, that’s that. And come around this way. And they have more artifacts. So, it’s great because they do have some African inspired merchandise in here. um that really just unique enough that you’re not going to really see it anywhere else. Even I think Animal Kingdom Park, I don’t see this a lot of times, but it’s all here. But if we continue down along the way, they do have the Animal Kingdom Lodge merchandise. Great almost military green shirt with the logo on it. They have a fantastic Christmas with Safari Mickey. And this mug is fantastic. Guys, I got to tell you my favorite lounge flies. It’s $90. It’s that it’s more backpack. It’s more industrial. There’s not a sequent on it. It’s fantastic. You got sleeping Simba and you got all his friends here in the characters. Fantastic spirit jersey here with a great African scene on the back. And that is actually $79.99. We’ll continue around the corner. I They have started bringing in Halloween merch. Yes, they have. This is Wizard Mickey. His outfit for this. They have a countdown clock. And now these oversized bags are actually all the rage lately. We’re seeing him everywhere. Different characters. That’s Vampire Mickey. Although Wizard Mickey is his thing today. Here is the new tug bag, which is different than a Loungefly. The popcorn. And obviously then you got to have the mugs and the light of wands, bubble wands coming through here. If you come through, then you do have all the pool stuff. Safari mini, safari Mickey, the best ever. Now they do have straight Animal Kingdom villas. They have a DVC member. Remember this is a DVC property. Disney Vacation Club. It’s their time share. They have their own shirts and merchandise, their own Halloween merch we had not even seen before. So they have all this stuff. So that’s all DVC. We’ll come back to and finish up seeing the store. They do have their version of Lounge Flies and those expensive purses as well as as we’ve seen. There’s my there’s my Loungefly again, but they’re also every store sells luggage. It’s because we buy too much stuff when we’re here. I have to tell you, it is a fantastic assortment of pins for such a small resort, small store. And then they do just have all your snacks and all your drinks in one spot. So, literally, if I were to turn this way and show you how small this store is, it is small and yet fantastically the quality, the quantity, the variety is all here. It is just a great space. I’m here with my partner in crime Addie and we’re here at Kadani Village. Kadani Village is the second resort on Animal Kingdom Lodge. It’s a small one kind of in the back. Jambbo is the first one. We’re here for a very special reason. It’s somebody’s birthday. Hello. It’s my birthday. And for her birthday, she wanted to do SA. SA is their table service which is downstairs here at this this resort. It is one of two table services you can get takeout from. Steak 71 is the other one at Contemporary. And guess what? We’re getting our favorite thing ever. And our favorite thing is bread service. For those who don’t know, African bread service here is a you can get it when you come here and you get four or five different kinds of bread and then you can pick four sauces. If you do takeout, you get four or five different kinds of bread and you get 12 sauces. They give you a sample of every sauce there is. There may be less quantity, but you get to pick 12 different sauces and get to try all of them. And they’re not a small amount. I mean, it’s a good amount to go with. So, we’re here to get that. And while we’re here, we had to get their tomato soup, which is mindboggling because our moderator wife loves it. We got to pick it up while we’re here. So, with that being said, we’re going to run in and get it. We’ll be right back out. All right. So we’re back from going down to SA and picking up the food. So this is what we got. So let’s zoom in here. That is the bread. So the bread here is different flavors of bread. That’s kind of a garlic one. It’s they’re wonderful. It’s called naan, I think. And it it’s basically flat unleavened bread, meaning it doesn’t have yeast. So you tear it and it’s fantastic. But then you dip it into those goodies. Now those are the 12 sauces. If you order here and you do sit down, you will get a fantastic view of their safari and see all the animals, but you will only get four sauces here. We got one of every sauce they offer. And there are some favorites in here that we love. Let me get in there so you see it. On top of that, we talked about this. We have the tomato soup. Now, that tomato soup had cheese has cheese, blocks of African cheese, sun coming. Yeah, there’s a storm coming. And it is right in there. It is a wonderful soup. It has a little drizzle on top. It is just the best tomato soup ever. So guys, that is our birthday snack for our partner in crime, Addie. We’re going to take it home and enjoy it. You guys take care of a fantastic day. It is the second property on Animal Kingdom Lodge and it is outstanding. So, we’re in the back and what we do at Florida Parks after dark is we spend a lot of time trying to show you guys how to best stretch that Disney dollar. So, you know, and we know Animal Kingdom Park has that safari and you go there and you pay the ticket price and you go on safari and you wait in line. But did you know that both of the resorts here at Animal Kingdom Lodge has its own safari? And we had just had some rain and this is kind of what we’re coming across. So, that zebra is probably 10 yards from me right now. Probably closer than you would run into if you’re actually on the safari ride. And if we keep coming around, we will we come over this way and we got more zebra. I do think the plural of zebras is a zebra. So, there’s a whole bunch of those guys. There’s some wilderbeasts out there. And if you look way back there, I’m going to zoom in for you guys. There’s some some giraffe walking around. So, when we come over this, let me show you the giraffe. So, he’s back there. So, literally in the back of Kadani Village, if you go down the stairs to the restaurant, SA, which we just got um food from, there’s a little out a little walkway that comes out where they have their fire pit and they do the samores. They have this safari. And so, this is their Serengeti. This is their place where we actually get a chance to show you these animals. And what’s great about this is it’s free. You just come over, you come down, you can sit here for hours and watch these African animals within feet of where you are and love it. Now, here’s a tent, and I’ll tell you the hint. Feeding time typically is right around check-in time, like between 3 and 4. They’ll hang things from the trees for the um the giraffe to come eat. Then the zebras follow the giraffe where they drop on the ground. and it’s a great way for you have a chance to really see the animals very up close and personal. But this after rain is even better. So that’s why we’re here now. But with that being said, just one more tip for us for Florida Parks After Dark, how to stretch that dollar.
