[4K]京都駅散策 – Exploring Kyoto Station Building – 2025/08
京都の有名な駅ビル、京都駅構内の改札外にある様々な魅力的なエリアを45分かけて散策しました。スカイウェイエリア、公共ピアノ、京都タワーを望む眺望、地下街、そして伊勢丹など、見どころ満載です。ピアノの名演奏も拝見しました。また、滞在中に伊勢丹ではスター・ウォーズ／マーベルのポップアップショップ（2025年8月24日まで）も開催されていました。DJI Osmo Pocket 3を使用し、4K/60fpsで撮影しました。
We take a 45 minute walk exploring the many interesting areas in Kyoto’s famous station building outside of the ticket gates, including the Skyway area, the public piano, vistas viewing Kyoto Tower, the underground shopping area, as well as the Isetan Department store. We saw a virtuoso piano performance too. Also while we were there, Isetan had a Star Wars / Marvel Pop-up shop (ends Aug 24, 2025). Shot in 4K at 60fps on a DJI Osmo Pocket 3.

Kyōto Station (京都駅, Kyōto-eki) is a major railway station and transportation hub in Kyōto, Japan. It has Japan’s second-largest station building (after Nagoya Station) and is one of the country’s largest buildings, incorporating a shopping mall, hotel, movie theater, Isetan department store, and several local government facilities under one 15-story roof.
The current Kyoto Station was designed by architect Hiroshi Hara, and it opened in 1997 which commemorated Kyoto’s 1,200th anniversary. It is 70 meters high and 470 meters from east to west, with a total floor area of 238,000 square meters. Architecturally, it exhibits many characteristics of futurism, with a slightly irregular cubic façade of plate glass over a steel frame. During the mid-1990s, Kyoto was one of the least modern cities in Japan by virtue of its many cultural heritage sites, so locals were largely reluctant to accept such an ambitious structure.
