【稲荷町】盛岡冷麺の名店ぴょんぴょん舎で乾杯!大阪万博メニュー初公開【ポン酒場EP35】

The restaurant offers a calm, kura-style atmosphere where you can leisurely enjoy yakiniku, Morioka cold noodles, and a variety of special Korean home-style dishes. Cheers! Yeah! Ah, delicious! This is so good. I made sure to come here super thirsty! I’m Fujipon. Great to meet you. Who’s next to you? You became the president of Pyon-Pyon-Sha, right? This is Kotetsu. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Nice to meet you. Joining us today is Hen Kotetsu, the President of Pyon-Pyon-Sha, a long-established company in Morioka. He is a young leader who is shaping Pyon-Pyon-Sha’s future by creating a dining experience that engages all five senses. I feel like this is the first time I’ve actually called you by your name. That’s right. We always see each other, but it’s usually just casual, It’s a pleasure to work with you. Today, we’re visiting Pyon-Pyon-Sha Inaricho Main Store. Could you please explain this drink to us again? Pyon-Pyon-Sha. I’ve heard of that name by TV commercial, yeah. What kind of restaurant is this? We are a restaurant specializing in Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ), cold noodles (Reimen), and traditional Korean home-style dishes. We have 12 locations, including some outside of this prefecture. That’s a lot. How many are just in Iwate? There are four Pyon-Pyon-Sha locations. In addition, they also operate a fusion restaurant and a jajangmyeon shop. So you recently became the president, right?
-Yes, that’s right. I officially took the position on June 2nd of this year. Congratulations on your appointment as president! You’re so young, and handsome too. Oh, no, not at all. I’m close in age to Pon-san. Ah, but he’s younger than me. I’m older. There’s not much of a difference. You’re 42?

I don’t usually drink, but this one goes down so smoothly.

-Wait, beer? Every month, this main store offers a different menu. We’re doing a special limited-time menu for this ‘Pon-Sakaba’ event. I decided on the green onion-wrapped meat because it was so incredibly delicious. Oh, thank you so much! From August 25th to September 5th. I’ll go ahead and have some since this is for work. Excuse me. Yes, drinking is also part of your job. Wow, you’re a great drinker! It’s a work! You had a rough day, didn’t you? You worked hard today. Just one more, then. This is thin, so it’s better to cook it quickly. I need to hurry, I’d better get my chopsticks ready. Time to eat! Ouch, hot! Delicious. Normally we’d cut the meat against the fibers, but for this, we’ve cut it with the fibers. The good feelings just keep on coming. It’s all blended together with the green onions now. When all the flavors are mixed together, it’s a hundred billion times more delicious! Every year, our employees submit their recipe ideas, kind of like a contest. And this is one that got adopted. -It’s a term for products made with only plant-based ingredients, without any animal-derived ones. Actually, this time, it’s something that will be exhibited at Osaka Expo in September. We are officially unveiling at ‘Pon-Sakaba’ for the first time. That’s amazing. Are you sure it’s okay?

I’m really looking forward to it. Coming soon. What does the name “Pyon-Pyon-Sha” mean, anyway? The Pyon-Pyon-Sha logo was created by named Shumei Watanabe. When I explained the concept to him, he imagined animals hopping (“pyon pyon”) around in a field. And the character “sha” means a country-style teahouse. A restaurant is a healing space, a place where everyone can relax and recharge. This led to the name “Pyon-Pyon-Sha.” And also, My name is Hyeon, which is “pyon” in Korean, so they combined those two to create the name “Pyon-Pyon-Sha.” Ah, I see. That was really helpful. Have you not been working at Pyon-Pyon-Sha all this time? Is that me you’re asking about? Well, I was originally in the music industry. Well, I worked at a music company in Tokyo, but I also had a lot of other unrelated jobs. I realized that I really love communicating through music. I thought I could do it even if I didn’t have this job. My personal mission is to communicate. The origin of the word “restaurant” is the Latin word restaurare, Translated literally into Japanese, it means “the recovery of humanity.” I want to create a new form of restaurant by combining my personal mission of communicating with the desire for restaurants to be a fun place where everyone can be restored.
