My First Ultra-Luxury Cruise | 7 Nights in First Class on an Arctic Expedition with Seabourn

Welcome aboard Seabourn Venture
for an ultra-luxury 7-night cruise around Iceland The video includes the luxury cruise experience
as well as several scenic highlights in Iceland Our cruise around Iceland starts in the capital Reykjavik Launched in 2022, Seabourn Venture is
the most luxurious expedition cruise ship in the world Stepping aboard Seabourn Venture
feels like the beginning of something magical The luxury ship offers an intimate cruise experience
with just 264 guests in 132 all-veranda suites The small size of the Seabourn Venture ensures
personalized service and a tranquil atmosphere I stayed in this beautiful Veranda Suite during my (first) cruise The luxury cruise ship leaves Reykjavik at 5 pm local time The departure is followed by a dinner
in the ship’s main dining venue, The Restaurant The Restaurant offers fine dining with open seating Something exciting is happening during our first dinner … We’ve spotted large numbers of feeding humpback whales Guests also observe the whales and dolphins from the bow On the second day of the cruise, Seabourn Venture
docks in the scenic village of Grundarfjörður Mount Kirkjufell is the most famous landmark of Grundarfjörðu Many guests head out to explore Snæfellsnes National Park,
often called “Iceland in miniature” Several shore excursions, like this Snæfellsnes bus tour,
are included with a Seabourn cruise A photo stop is made near Kirkjufell,
the most photographed mountain in Iceland Kirkjufell is known as “Arrowhead Mountain”
in the television series “Game of Thrones” Snæfellsjökull, the glacier-capped volcano,
rises in the distance, partly hidden by clouds Even when obscured, it looms large
and adds mystique to the landscape A stop is made at Snæfellsnes National Park’s lighthouse,
standing tall against the rugged cliffs and ocean spray Snæfellsnes National Park packs lava fields,
glaciers, beaches, and fishing villages into one region Lóndrangar, two towering basalt cliffs by the sea,
rise like natural castles from the coastline Seabirds nest along the cliffs near Lóndrangar,
filling the air with sound and movement in summer The next stop is made at Hellnar,
a peaceful coastal village with dramatic cliffs Once a thriving fishing post,
Hellnar is now a quiet stop for hikers and nature lovers A short trail connects Hellnar to Arnarstapi,
passing lava formations and sea arches The coastal path reveals basalt cliffs,
crashing waves, and seabirds nesting on the rocks Snæfellsnes National Park’s diverse landscapes
showcase Iceland’s dramatic natural forces at work A lunch stop is made in the village of Stykkishólmur Stykkishólmur is home to a remarkable church Architectural Digest called Stykkishólmskirkja
one of the 19 most beautiful churches in the world Perched on a hill, the church offers
panoramic views of the town, sea, and islands nearby Stykkishólmur is a charming harbor town
on the northern side of Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula A last stop is made at Helgafell “Holy mountain”,
a small mountain near the village of Stykkishólmur Local legend says that climbing Helgafell
grants your wishes and brings good luck The summit boasts sweeping views
of lava fields, ocean, and distant mountains We’re back at the Seabourn Venture,
which rests quietly at the pier The ship leaves Grundarfjörður at 4:30 pm local time The Expedition Lounge is a favorite gathering spot onboard The Expedition Lounge features a cozy fireplace
and plenty of comfortable seating Next to the Expedition Lounge is a large atrium where
the expedition team gives expert presentations and talks The crew welcomes the passengers on the first evening A daily briefing is also held in the atrium
to provide information about the following day’s excursions The Club Lounge on the ship’s top floor features a sushi bar,
a perfect way to end the day, especially with live music The 3rd day of our luxury cruise starts with an in-room breakfast A lovely morning welcomes Seabourn Venture
as it docks near Flatey Island Flatey Island lies peacefully within Breiðafjörður Bay Guests are transferred to Flatey Island by Zodiac boats Guests are briefed on Flatey’s highlights upon arrival Today’s focus is on Flatey’s cultural heritage and rich birdlife Flatey is home to a few summer residents
and well-preserved historic buildings The island has no cars or roads, adding to its timeless feel The name ‘Flatey’ means ‘Flat Island’
and true to its name, it’s almost completely flat Flatey was once an important cultural center,
especially during the 18th and 19th centuries Flatey is also known for its birdlife,
with over 30 species nesting here in summer Arctic Terns, Puffins, and Eider Ducks
are among the island’s most common seasonal visitors Electricity only arrived on the island in the late 20th century,
and there’s still no internet for guests Because of its isolation, Flatey remains
one of the best-preserved historic villages in Iceland Unique murals by Spanish artist Baltasar Samper
decorate the walls of Flatey Island’s small church Flatey Island’s library is the oldest and
smallest still operating library in Iceland After the cultural tour, guests get
a Zodiac ride to observe Flatey’s birdlife up close We spot our first Puffins of the trip — and there are
many more to come, as you’ll see later in this video We’re back off to the ship after the excursion Guests have to wash their boots upon re-entering the ship Excursions aboard the ship’s two submarines are also offered The submarines allow guests to explore
underwater ecosystems in comfort and safety Each submarine has a capacity for six guests After the Flatey Island excursion, a caviar reception is held
in the Constellation Lounge on the ship’s 9th deck (top floor) The Colonnade serves buffets for breakfast, lunch & dinner This is the restaurant’s lavish dinner buffet The Bow Lounge features interactive digital screens that let
guests track the ship’s route and explore the environment The cruise ship’s outdoor bow deck is accessible to guests On the evening of our second day, Seabourn Venture docks near
Dynjandi, one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in Iceland Dynjandi, waterfall cascades down
100 meters (330 feet) in a wide, fan-like shape The ultra-luxury cruise ship has 24 Zodiac boats
for shore landings in remote locations like Dynjandi Dynjandi means “the thunderous one”
and the sound lives up to the name It’s made up of several smaller falls,
each with its own name and flow A hiking trail leads visitors past
the smaller waterfalls up to the main cascade Coming back to the ship after an excursion
always feels grand and awe-inspiring Our fourth cruise day brings us to Siglufjörður,
a small fishing village in northern Iceland The outdoor Jacuzzi deck offers a nice view of Siglufjörður The picturesque town is surrounded by mountains and a fjord Siglufjörður was once the heart of Iceland’s booming herring
industry, driving the nation’s economy in the early 20th century For decades, ships filled the harbor of Siglufjörður,
bringing life and industry to this remote fjord Siglufjörður’s award-winning Herring Era Museum
is a must-see stop on today’s itinerary At the heart of town stands Siglufjörður Church, built in 1932 The Seabourn guides take us on a steep hike
above the town center for some breathtaking views The end of the trail offers great views of Siglufjörður Bay Upon our return, a lecture is held in the atrium
about the next day’s excursion to Grímsey Island The day ends with a great dinner at The Restaurant On the fifth day of the cruise,
the Seabourn Venture docks near Grímsey Island Today, the winds come from the east, creating calm conditions
for a Zodiac landing on the island’s west side Grímsey Island is the only part of Iceland
that lies within the Arctic Circle The island is home to abundant birdlife and dramatic sea cliffs Atlantic Puffins are the most popular birds on the island Thousands of puffins perch on clifftops along the coast Tens of thousands more float on the waters, many busily fishing Over one million seabirds are thought to nest on Grímsey This monument marks the Arctic Circle on Grímsey Island It is a massive concrete sphere
that moves to follow the Arctic Circle’s shifting position We’re returning to the ship
after a full morning hike at Grímsey After the morning excursion,
the Zodiacs are taken back on board Lunch at The Colonnade Restaurant changes every day For a lighter lunch, guests can visit
the takeaway café in the ship’s “Seabourn Square” lounge After lunch, Seabourn offers its guests a Polar Plunge Seabourn’s Polar Plunge challenges guests
to swim in the freezing Arctic waters After the Polar Plunge, a lecture is held in the atrium
about tomorrow’s excursion to Húsavík We end the day once more with a lovely dinner
at The Restaurant (which has a daily changing menu) A grey morning dawns over Seabourn Venture
as we arrive at Húsavík on the 6th day of our cruise We’re going on a day tour in the area around Húsavík,
also known as Iceland’s Diamond Circle The charming Icelandic town of Húsavík
is known as the whale watching capital of Iceland This quiet Icelandic town stole the spotlight in Netflix’s
Eurovision film (with Will Ferrell, Pierce Brosnan, & Demi Lovato) Our first stop of the day is Ásbyrgi Canyon Ásbyrgi Canyon is located in Vatnajökull National Park,
and a perfect spot for hiking, picnics, and quiet reflection Ásbyrgi Canyon is one of Iceland’s many natural wonders Shaped like a massive horseshoe, Ásbyrgi Canyon
stretches over 3 km (1.9 miles) long and 1 km (0.6 miles) wide According to legend, the canyon was formed
by the hoofprint of Odin’s eight-legged horse, Sleipnir Botnstjörn Lake is located at the end of Ásbyrgi Canyon Next stop: Hverir Geothermal Area (also known as Námaskarð) Hverir is famous for its steaming vents and boiling mud pools Hverir is a reminder of Iceland’s wild volcanic heart Hverir offers desolate Mars-like scenery The area is filled with an intense sulfur smell,
which comes from deep underground volcanic activity Mývatn Lake is a birdwatcher’s paradise Next stop: Dimmuborgir lava fields The maze of lava pillars, caves, and craggy towers
were created during a volcanic eruption over 2,300 years ago The last stop of the day is Goðafoss Waterfall,
the “Waterfall of the Gods” in Icelandic language The waterfall is 12 meters (39 feet) high
and 30 meters (98 feet) wide Legend says Iceland’s first Christian laws
were symbolically declared here in 1000 AD And we’re back “home” after a full day excursion We get a last view of the stunning scenery
around Húsavík as we leave the harbor at 5 PM local time I’m enjoying a cozy dinner in my suite tonight After dinner, a party is offered at the Expedition Lounge Guests seeking a more tranquil ambience can enjoy live piano
music in the Constellation Lounge on the ship’s top deck The early morning hours of the 7th cruise day bring
with them grey foggy skies and 1m (3 ft) swells A Zodiac tour is offered around Papey Island,
a small island off the east coast of Iceland Papey is known for its rich birdlife and untouched beauty Papey island has no permanent inhabitants, roads, or houses Celtic monks, known as the Papar,
once lived here over 1,100 years ago Today, Papey is a sanctuary for seabirds, seals, and nature Puffins, Fulmars, and Guillemots crowd the cliffs each summer As we return to the ship, the swells have grown,
making reboarding the boat a bit of an adventure We’re back for lunch, and today, it’s all about Mexican flavors Guests on the Seabourn Venture can visit
the ship’s bridge during select moments of their cruise The rough seas put on quite a show A day at sea is a great opportunity to visit the ship’s spa The spa offers a wide range of treatments, including massages,
facials, and body therapies using premium natural products Sea days also offer a great chance to shop

  1. After all of your land based luxury travel experiences over the years, do you feel like the luxury cruise experience offers better value for money?

  2. That is a cute little town. So peaceful (except all the birds talking to each other) but it’s nice. ❤️ it. I loved how you paned out. You got closer and closer each time you paned out to that waterfall. Then bam you were there. Right close to it. Beautiful.

  3. Thank you for showing us the beautiful landscapes and villages of Iceland, with the amazing mountains, waterfalls and volcanic features. I especially liked all the bird life featured in your video, especially the Puffins!

  4. Thank you for this magnificent presentation on this video! 🫶🏻❤️🥹🙌Iceland is truly a beautiful destination. One of the most breathtaking places on earth. 🌍
Seaborne cruises are splendid and majestic. 🤩🤩

  5. 😊 well done, sir! But, no submarine trip?? 😟
Enjoyed the puffins! And the guy singing at the piano was actually pretty good 😊.
Would the submarine go down if only one person wanted to go??
What happened to the herring business? Where did it go?
Next week looks awesome, dear LTE! Goodnight!

  6. When we think of world geography it's usually from a classroom globe view. Earth's land masses have many different varieties. I didn't know Iceland had islands. Doesnt show up on globe. Can't believe the age of some of those people that took the polar plunge; I hope they checked with their Dr. first. I want to point this out because I have watched at least 100 of LTEs videos; God willing in the near future more dark skinned people (not just famous people) will go on luxury vacations. 85% of world population in non-white and majority of wealth is with and controlled by white people.

  7. Omg wat een geweldige video weer. Met veel plezier naar gekeken. Had ook nog graag beelden van de onderwater voertuigen gezien, maar die zijn misschien niet gebruikt deze cruise. Super goede montage en muziek, een feest om naar te kijken.

  8. This looks like an amazing ship. From the food to the decor to the lack of screaming children this is the kind of cruise for me!
