【沖縄 食事】シーサーが守るスタバシリーズ（その1）：豊見城・八重瀬・南風原編[ Inokuma TOURIST ]

Okinawa was under American administration for about 20 years, from 1952 (Showa 27) after World War II until it was returned to Japan in 1972. During that time, the influence of American culture led to hamburgers and coffee becoming commonplace in Okinawa. The 1st Starbucks Coffee opened on Okinawa’s Kokusai Street on June 30, 2002. Since then, the number of stores has steadily increased, and as of a 2023 survey, there are 32 stores in Okinawa Prefecture, the 2nd highest number of stores per capita after Tokyo. By the way, did you know that among these 32 stores, there is one with a Stone Lion, Okinawa’s guardian deity, placed at the entrance? What’s more, it is said that each store has a different design. Of the 32 stores, 17 with drive-throughs on Okinawa’s main island are protected by Stone Lion. In this “Starbucks Guarded by Stone Lion” series, we’ll introduce the Stone Lion guarding 17 stores, organized by area and municipality. In this 1st installment, we’ll introduce the Stone Lion guarding three stores in Tomigusuku City, Yaese Town, and Haebaru Town in the southern part of Okinawa’s main island. ▶Okinawa Outlet Mall Ashibinaa Store

Before or after visiting Okinawa Outlet Mall Ashibinaa, it might be a good idea to take a short break and enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee. Closed: Irregularly The Okinawa Yaese store is located a short distance from the Tsukayama Bypass on National Route 507. Along the Tsukayama Bypass, there is also the Okinawa Tsukayama store, which I will introduce next. The Stone Lion at the Okinawa Yaese Store is the typical brick-colored Stone Lion, but this one has accentuated shadows, giving it a very dignified and robust appearance. ▶Okinawa Tsukayama Store

Closed: Irregularly The Okinawa Tsukayama store is located along the Tsukayama Bypass on National Route 507, just like the Okinawa Yaese store. It’s located next to the road heading towards Naha, just before the intersection with Route 329, which leads to Naha Interchange on the Okinawa Expressway. The Stone Lion at the Okinawa Tsukayama store is a dark brown, almost black, and at first glance looks scary, but on closer inspection, the slightly reddish color and flow of its fur gives it an air of cuteness. 沖縄は、第二次世界大戦後の1952年（昭和27年）より、サンフランシスコ平和条約に基づいてアメリカの施政下に置かれました。
その後、1971年に調印された沖縄返還協定により、1972年に日本に返還されるまでの約20年の間、沖縄はアメリカ文化の影響を受けて来ました。
その影響もあってか、沖縄ではコーヒーやハンバーガーなどが日常的に親しまれています。
そんな沖縄にスターバックスコーヒーが初めて出店したのは、2002年6月30日の事でした。その後、2025年現在、県内には32店が営業しています。
これは、人口当たりの店舗数で言うと東京に次いで多い店舗数です
実は、その32店舗の中に入口でシーサーが守っている店舗がある事をご存じでしょうか？
しかも、店舗毎にデザインの異なるシーサーが守っているとも言われています。
沖縄にあるシーサーが守っているスターバックスコーヒーの店舗と置かれているシーサーを紹介します。
今回は、豊見城・八重瀬・南風原編です。

猪熊のおっちゃん、まいどです。シーサーがお出迎え、そして守ってくれてますんやなあ。沖縄らしくてよろしいなあ！それぞれに形や色、表情が違って面白いです。ふと思ったんですけど、もし大阪にあればおそらく口の中や台座や足の上に5円玉や1円玉がいっぱいあるんやろうなあって…沖縄ではおまへんか😂大阪やったら狛犬さん周りや鳥居や灯籠なんかに硬貨を乗せたりしてる光景が、あはは😅いつもおおきに！
猪熊のおっチャンネルさん、撮影ご苦労様です。 県内にはスターバックスが32店舗もあるんですね。個人劇には、サンエーだったかな？ショッピングモール無いのスタバに一度だけ行った事があります。個人的にコーヒーは割とよく飲む方ですが、わざわざお店で飲むことは無いですね。家のドリップコーヒーオンリーです。 スタバにシーサーがあるのは知りませんでした。この3g店舗のシーサーはそれぞれ特徴的ですが、窯元が違うんでしょうね。もしかしたら店長の好みかも知れませんね。でも、普通にあるスタバにシーサーが設置している所は余り気に懸けた事が無かったので、これからは少し注意してみてみたいですね。
