Our journey began with a flight from Hong Kong… We explored the vibrant city of Yokohama… And now, our route takes us to the serene cherry blossoms… It seems like we may have arrived Wow, we’ve finally arrived There are only us here Nobody’s here But it’s raining so heavily and cold here finally see someone else Rain is getting heavier Hold on, there are more cherry blossoms ahead Not sure why the mini-train stopped service today, it’ll be a great experience riding train under sakura The road seems slippery under heavy rain We need to walk slower There is a cafe here Even the cafe is closed Seems there are even more pretty flowers down there You can literally see the whole Matsuda city here Mastuda SkySwing. It would be a nice photo spot here if it’s not raining This place is full of cherry blossoms Cherry blossoms and rapeseed flowers This flower sea is breathtaking This observation deck is another perfect spot for photos. I can’t stop the WOWs here LOL This road is also very slippery This road is literally called cherry blossom road We are completely swamped by cherry blossoms here Lots of water puddle here Non-stop WOWs again LOL It’s an amazing experience to bring your loved ones here Today actually is during the Matsuda Sakura Festival There is the famous Sakura Slide downthere, though it’s also closed today The view is perfect over here! Sometimes, all we need is a peace of mind It’s only 4 degree celcius now Luckily we are able to catch the last bus for today Cherry blossoms everywhere Matsuda is also famous for its udon
(a kind of Japanes noodle) Food in Japan is very affordable Tourists can use smart cards (like Suica card) almost everywhere and no need to use cash It’s time to enjoy our nice Japanese noodles The next journey begins We are heading Hakone It’s already completely darken outside That’s the Yumoto Fujiya Hotel Actually, lots of onsen hotels near the train station Hakone-Yumoto Shopping Street (a.k.a. “Shoutengai)
is just outside the station Lots of nice local souvenirs here

Welcome back to The Route Ahead. In this immersive 4K journey, we spend a beautiful and moody rainy day exploring Nishihirabatake Park in Matsuda (Part 2 of UNCOVERING JAPAN’S CHERRY BLOSSOMS). We find a peaceful walk under thousands of cherry blossoms and vibrant rapeseed flowers, experience the scenic Sky Terrace overlooking Matsuda city, and discover the perfect photo-op at the Matsuda Skyswing.

A quick tip for your visit: You might get perfect sakura + Mount Fuji photos here if you are lucky with the weather! Also, on sunny days, the sakura mini-train and downhill slide should be open, offering an extra memorable experience. In my opinion, this secret cherry blossom spot is really worth visiting, especially with your loved ones.

Our day concludes with a bus ride downhill at 4:15 PM, a delicious and affordable meal at HAKO SOBA near Shin-Matsuda station, and a scenic train ride on the Odakyu Hakone line. The video concludes with our arrival at Hakone-Yumoto, where our next adventure begins.
