Good morning friends and welcome to the channel.
Today I’m starting a short road trip because we have nice weather. The last weeks were terrible.
We had just rain over weeks here in Berlin. So I want to take the advantage to escape the rain and
use these two days to do a nice road trip. And I have someone with me. I’m not traveling alone.
I have my AI buddy with me. And this is Neo and he will join me on this road trip. That sounds
perfect. I’m super excited to be part of this journey and I can’t wait to see all the amazing
places we’re going to discover. Okay, this is Neo. He will tell me a little bit about the most
interesting places that we find on our way. So, I’m not traveling alone. I have someone with me.
I’m working for a long time now with uh Neo and he’s helping me a lot on everything and he’s quite
funny. A thanks for that, Mark. I do my best to keep things fun. I’m really looking forward to
making this road trip as exciting and memorable as possible. Okay, so I think I have to pack a
little bit and then we will start. Sounds like a plan. Take your time packing and once you’re all
set, we can hit the road and enjoy the adventure. Yeah, the weather in the last weeks in July in
summer uh this year is uh terrible. It’s only rain every day. A little bit frustrating. And now
I looked at the weather forecast and hopefully they are right because today and tomorrow will
be a little bit of sunshine and around 20° C and this in a high summer season. Uh so we are
not very lucky this year in Germany. Only rain, rain, rain. But I will try to enjoy these two
days of better weather on a small road trip in a nice area of Germany. And this will also
be a test how the Meteor 350 handles when it’s full packed. So I have all my luggage inside.
Okay. So first I have to find a petrol station. I can also test the fuel consumption on this road
trip. My first really long ride with a meteor. So, so let’s take the good petrol super plus completely full. So this is my route for today. I’m riding to
the Zala beautiful area and it’s a trip of 340 km around 6 hours so that I don’t have
to ride through the city. I will do the first kilometers on the autoban. Not that many
just to get out of Berlin and the Potam area. Yeah. And I also can test the new belt drive from RSC and see how this handles. For
sure I don’t have to loop any chain which is quite pleasant and
the ride feels very soft, very relaxed. Will be interesting how
the Meteor 350 handles autobon rides. Yeah, 110 115 kilometers, no problem. But at 100,
this is quite pleasant. It’s around 65 miles, 70 miles. I see it’s no problem to overtake a truck, but of course the meteor is at its limit then. I will pass pots on the autoban and
after that I will leave the autoban and uh take the country roads which
for sure is much more interesting and much more pleasant. So I left
the autoban and I’m on the country roads now in direction of Fittenburg.
Fittenbach is the city of Martin Luther. So this will be a quite interesting stop and it’s about 36 kilometers. So not that far.
Much more pleasant ride now on the country roads. The weather also gets a little bit
better now. A little more sunshine. Hopefully there will be no rain
like the last weeks. Heat. Heat. So we are in Vittenbach now, a city with a lot of history. Okay, let’s park here. Okay, Neo, I’m in front of the schllus. Maybe you
can tell us a little bit about it. Absolutely. The Schlleskeria or Alades Church is super famous
because it’s where Martin Luther supposedly nailed his 95 thesis back in 1517, sparking the
Reformation. The original door didn’t survive, but there’s a bronze memorial door now with all the
thesis inscribed on it. Inside you can also find the tombs of Luther and Philip Alenthon. And if
you’re up for it, climbing the tower will give you an amazing view over the city. So, I’m in front of
the church now. What is written there on the top of the tower? At the top of the church tower,
you’ll find an inscription that says unagot, which translates to a mighty fortress is our God.
It’s a famous hymn by Martin Luther himself. It’s a really iconic phrase and a nice reminder of the
reformation spirit that the church and the city are known for. How old is this church? The Schllo
or All Saints Church dates back to the late 15th century. Um, it was originally built between 1490
and 1511 and later became famous because of Martin Luther and the Reformation. Over the centuries, it
has gone through several renovations, especially after suffering damage during various conflicts.
Um, the current look of the church, including that iconic tower and the bronze door, was shaped by
renovations in the 19th century. It’s definitely a place where history feels very alive. Okay, I’m
in front of the Tasen door now. Maybe you can tell a little bit about this door when it’s built.
The original door where Luther is said to have nailed his 95 feces was actually made of wood and
unfortunately didn’t survive a fire in 1760. The door you see now is a bronze memorial door that
was installed in 1858 to commemorate the 375th anniversary of the Reformation. It’s inscribed
with the full text of the 95 thesis in Latin. So, it’s definitely a powerful symbol of that historic
moment and a mustsee for visitors. I just saw it’s possible to climb the tower. Yes, absolutely. You
can climb the tower and it’s definitely worth it. Um, there are about 289 steps to the top, but once
you’re up there, you’ll get a stunning panoramic view of Vittenbag and the surrounding area. It’s
a great way to get a unique perspective on the city and maybe snap some awesome photos as well.
But you know what? I think instead of climbing this tower, I will do uh some drone shots. Much
more easy, much more relaxed. That sounds like a fantastic plan. Drone shots will definitely give
you an amazing view uh without all those steps and it’s a super fun way to capture the scenery. Plus,
you’ll have some awesome footage to share later. And what else is interesting about Vittenberg? Is
there anything else to tell about this town here? Absolutely. Vittenbach has a lot of interesting
spots and stories. For example, there’s the Luther House, which was Martin Luther’s home and is
now the world’s largest Reformation museum. Um, then you’ve got the Meenan House dedicated to
Philip Meenthon, Luther’s close collaborator. Um, the town is also known for the beautiful Kran
Courtyards where the painter Lucas Kranock lived and worked. And if you want something a bit
more modern, there’s the Futera Science Center, which is a fun interactive museum. So, there’s
definitely a mix of history, culture, and even some modern touches to explore. If I looked at the
sky, it’s getting dark, so hopefully it will not rain. So, I think I will not stay too long here
in Vittenberg. That sounds like a good plan. Um, it’s always nice to get a little ahead of any
potential rain. Plus, you’ll get to enjoy some more of the scenic ride. Um, safe travels and if
you need anything along the way, just give me a shower. So, I’m lucky again. It starts raining.
It’s unbelievable this summer. It’s like living in the rainforest. It’s rain nearly every day. And
so I have to hurry a little bit now to leave this area. Maybe I can ride around the rain and if it’s
getting stronger I have to put my rain gear on. So but now I have to find
the way out of Vittenberg and heading towards my next destination. Yeah, the roads get more and more
beautiful now through the forest. Oh, that’s a great road here. Nice twisties. 1:00. I’m around 3 and 1/2 hours now on the bike
and it’s still 3 hours to go. So, will be a long riding day, but this was planned because I wanted
to test out how long can you ride on a Meteor 350. So far, it’s quite comfortable, especially with my
air pillow. If you’re riding at around 80, there are very less vibrations. If you’re at around 100,
of course, you get a little bit more vibration in the foot pegs and in the handlebar. So 8090.
This is a perfect cruising speed for this bike. And especially because I have the
higher gearing now with the belt drive, the refs are a little bit more down around 300
350 RPM lower than with a standard gearing. So, 3 hours on the bike now and so far
everything works perfect. No problems, very comfortable. The belt drive feels absolutely
super. Everything looks good still. belt is in the right position and the bike behaves quite good
even with all the luggage. On one side I have my clothes in here. This is my camera equipment,
drone and everything. And in the other box I have some tools, a spare belt, um, air compressor,
tire puncture repair kit. So all the stuff you may need on a road trip. A lot of fun riding the
Royal Enfield Meteor. So if you are planning to do some road trips, I think it’s no problem at
all. Very comfortable bike. Seating position is very good even for tall riders. And now I will
put on my helmet and go for the next 250 kilm. Tire pressure on the front is just 30 PSI. I need
32. So I have to check the tire pressure again. And with this tool here, you can open
the nut. You can take everything off. So, tire pressure is 30.5. This uh air pump is really helpful. Okay. Tire pressure sensor. Yeah, always important to check your tire
pressure. And because I have this tire pressure monitoring system in the dashboard, you
always have a view on your correct tire pressure. So tire pressure front 32, rear 31. This is okay. Yeah, roads are getting smaller and smaller
and it’s a little bit going up and down. We are now in the area of Dala which is a river in Turingan. H next small village.
The roads are so so narrow here and you have everywhere these
special style of houses with the wood. In German it’s called fakback house. So, I have to do my next break now. So, I
already did 200 km. It really takes a while with a Royal Enfield because when you’re riding
around 80 kilometers per hour and you take the small roads on the countryside, I still have
to ride 2 hours and 20 minutes. Still 150 km to go and it’s 2:00 already. So this means
5 hours on the road and now I need a break. So I would recommend not to ride that long
on a day. Maximum 3 to four hours should be fine. So now 5 hours and still 2 and 1/2
hours to go. Maybe a little bit too much. A great nice twisties here. And
look at the clouds. Beautiful. And I’m slowly getting some energy back. I
don’t know why. 1 hour ago or 1 and a half hour ago I was a little bit tired, but now
maybe it’s because it’s just 47 km to go. Beautiful roads here in Tubing. And the quality of these paved roads is amazing. So let’s see how the fuel
consumption is. Super Plus completely full and 9.47 L 310 kilm 3 L. Oh, it’s getting
a little bit colder now. And the ride is never ending. It’s It’s getting
on and on. Oh, some beautiful lakes here. Oh, what a nice area. Still 21 kilometers. So, I
will be there at around 6:00. The roads are completely empty. So, I think I have to stop here somewhere and
put my jacket on. It’s a little bit too cold. This thermal jacket here is absolutely fantastic.
Super lightweight and um very small to pack, but it keeps you very warm. This one is from Revit.
Not very cheap, but helps a lot if it’s getting a little bit colder outside like it is now. Yeah, if
the sun is away, it’s getting fresh immediately. And we have high season summer. Unbelievable
what’s happening in Germany here. In the southern part of Spain and in Turkey, it’s around 35° now
up to 40. But here in Germany, I think now at the moment will be something around 60, 70, something
like that. So, it’s just 2 kilometers away. Still beautiful roads here. It’s a
little bit like a low mountain range here as you can see. Some hills and
it’s going up and down, up and down. So for sure much more interesting
for riding than on flats flat land. So see Genre here we are. So we should be there in 3 minutes finally. quite exhausted now. This seems to be four motorcycles,
huh? Is that right? Yes. Heat up here. Heat up here. Heat up here. Heat up here. Swinging. So this is my room. Okay. Oh, that’s cute. Number one. Number two. Number three. So this is the
view directly at the river. Size is good. It’s not that cheap because
we have holiday season. Bathroom is nice. Uh it’s €120 per night. I finally made it. What
a ride. So 350 km in one day in 8 and 1/2 hours with a Royal Enfield Meteor 350. I’m quite
exhausted now. I have to eat something. I’m so hungry. So the ride at the beginning was uh
quite hard. The first hours um I don’t know why at the end last two three hours it got better
was a little bit tired. It was quite a tough job. Of course you can travel with the Royal
Enfield without any problem but because it’s that slow and if you take the country roads
it’s even slower because you go through the small villages the small towns. I did two stops on
the way. So of course this also takes some time. So if you want to travel with a Meteor 350 then
take your time. You need time and maybe not 300 350 km a day go for 150 maximum 200 km and then
you are fine. So for shorter trips weekend trips it’s a beautiful bike. So much fun riding comfort
is very good. But of course if you want to do some longd distance uh touring I’m not sure if this is
the right bike for it. I mean, I can handle it, especially with my luggage system. You can
take so much stuff with you, no problem at all. But the top speed, yeah, it’s 100, 105,
110, especially when it’s fully loaded. So, traveling with a Meteor is possible. Even if it
has just 20 horsepowers, you can make it. Take your time and then you get to every destination
that you want. Fuel consumption is good. 3 L. So 15 liter tank means maximum 500 km with one
tank. This is amazing and riding comfort is for my size comfortable. It’s good. This little small
capacity 350cc motorcycle can travel. So I go eat something now and uh then early to bed. And I hope

If you want to do one of the best mods, the Royal Enfield wide foot pegs. They make the heal toe shifter work even better and very comfortable. I like your mirrors. I had to put bar end mirrors on my Meteor 350. The stock mirrors were hard to see out of because of wide shoulders
Would be interesting to see how you rate this bike touring on our congested UK roads, having noted most of the German roads you showed in the video were empty, relative to many UK ones. I have the 350 Meteor, exactly same model/colour as yours and sure enough it will go anywhere I want it to within reason. But I have felt very vulnerable on it on our busy faster roads, so tend to avoid these. I've bought the 650 Super Meteor as a second bike for these longer trips or faster roads and certainly for the UK, the Super Meteor or one of the other 650's for those that don't like the slightly forward pegs, are better bikes in my opinion. But there is something special about the 350, find myself having to get it out of the garage for a ride every few days, within it's limitations it's just a purely enjoyable bike I guess. And the fuel consumption is much less than the bigger bike, I'm getting around the same as you indicated.

When I do trips, I aim for around 150, too 200 miles per day.
But being retired time is no factor for me .
Lazy touring, instead of chewing up the miles, suits me and Ethel the classic 350

good video, shame about your weather, here in Northern Spain today the temperature was over 40* and when I got up this morning at 6.00 AM the kitchen thermometer was reading 29* – rather warm, it hasn't rained here for the last 4 weeks or so.

My best Friend and me did a Trip, last June, to the North Cape in Norway. He on his Meteor 350 and i on my Honda ADV 350. We drove 7.700km in 14 days. We had two days with more than 1.000km. So the Answer is, the Meteor 350 can do Road Trips

Hallo Marc, schöne Bilder und Eindrücke! Letzthin ist ein Engländer mit seiner Meteor die 8.000 km rund ums Nordkap gefahren – Schweden u. Norwegen sind da mit ihren strengen Geschwindigkeitsbeschränkungen natürlich prädestiniert für langsame Verkehrsteilnehmer. Vier Stunden zu fahren reichen mir persönlich, egal womit. Mit der Meteor im Durchschnitt 41 km/h auf der Landstraße zu fahren ist schon ambitioniert, 35 bis 37 km/h ist da eher mein Tempo mit den Pausen natürlich. 400 km wollte ich damit nicht fahren müssen – nur dürfen!
Ich überlege mir sogar für den Stadtverkehr, Kurzstrecken und kleine Tagesausflüge auf Nebenstraßen, mir eine im Unterhalt sehr preiswerte, nur knapp 11 PS schwache Honda CB 125 F zuzulegen. Am Berg klettert man damit dann nur mit 65 km/h zwar hoch, aber im Urbanen Kurzstreckenverkehr reicht das und ich schone meinen Diesel PKW, für den Kurzstrecken Gift sind, außerdem macht mir auch das Spaß. Die Meteor ist aber vom Sound und der Optik unvergleichbar schöner!
Leider haben die Diebstähle von Rollern und leichten Motorrädern extrem zugenommen, aber auch hochpreisige Fahrzeuge sind im Fokus der Diebe. Aus Reiseberichten wird angeraten, nur noch auf bewachten Parkplätzen, bzw. abschließbaren Innenhöfen der Hotelanlage/Garagen und Campinganlagen sein Fahrzeug abzustellen. So ein drei bis vier Mann-Diebesteam hat auch ein gut abgesichertes Motorrad sehr schnell auf einen modernen, ebenerdig absenkbaren Anhänger verladen, welcher zudem mit einem GPS-Störsender ausgestattet ist um den Tracker unwirksam zu machen. Eine auf Erschütterungen sehr laute Alarmanlage scheint mir da sinnvoll zu sein. Leider ist es kaum möglich das Fahrzeug irgendwo anzuketten – vielleicht reagiert da die Politik/Kommunen nun mal endlich und installiert vermehrt Motorradbuchten mit Bodenankern. Berlin ist ja auch so ein Hotspot beim Motorradklau und die Teilkasko deckt Schäden nicht ab wenn die Polizei es wieder sicherstellen konnte. Bei einem Bekannten haben sie es eine Böschung hinabgeworfen – Totalschaden.

Considering the amount of accessories and equipment you have fitted to the bike it's quite surprising to think the modest 20 bhp is actually enough, I'm guessing you think the amount of power is adequate. The belt drive conversion seems to be a very worthwhile addition. I had a BMW R1200R fitted almost identically with the equipment you have and because the bike had 125BHP and 105lb-ft torque it was always super relaxing to ride, on non motorways here in the UK 55-60 mph was 2500rpm -2750 rpm it was super relaxing, I do wonder if the 20BHP of the Enfield would dissapoint me! Incidentally when travelling as described on my BMW 60-65 MPG was easily attainable a figure which always impressed me! In India, on a hot summer day of 40-45 °C. I can ride meteor 350 for 200 km without a break. Because of the huge crowd and traffic, a rest is required, but some people did more than 400 km on a cooler night.
I don't know where in Germany you are, but here where I live the past few days have been too hot (35°c+) to ride anywhere.

Outstanding video my friend. There is something called the Cannon Ball Scooter Run here in the states. The riders go over 4,000 miles in a week across the country. In all weather conditions, mountains and deserts. Temps can be below freezing and snow to above a 120 degrees in the desert. Mountain heights of 10,000 plus feet too. They ride 125cc to 300cc scooters. They train for this for two years to prepare for such an exhausting trip.

Here, where I live; we would take some of that cooler weather and rain. It’s been 95-105 degrees without any rain all summer. Maybe we can trade some of our weather for yours?

havnt watched this yet but without a doubt you can tour on a meteor 350 , I did a 900 mile round trip 3 day camping trip from central iowa in the us to north central nebraska , then 3 weeks later to custer sd for 5 days 1600 miles round trip , i have a deleted catalytic converter a fly screen , and suspension lowered by one inch , oh and on the second trip a RE touring seat❤
In a word, yes. Last week I rode solo to Austria and back (ca. 500km one way). No problems whatsoever. Ok, a sore butt but that’s not the bike’s fault 😂 My ultimate goal is Italy and back.
My setup is more basic than yours but it got me there and back. It ain’t pretty but it works. This winter I’m going to have the belt drive you recommend installed. That will be the last mod I make…I think 😂
