二人で軽バン旅。道の駅で車中泊した朝、新緑の滋賀で癒される一日。

Roadside Station Imoko no Sato: Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture A morning spent camping in the car at a roadside station in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. This time, we’re traveling through the fresh greenery of Shiga. First, we head to Kotchan’s favorite coffee shop for breakfast. It says “Parking Lot.” “Hana Hana” written on it. Cafe Hana Hana, located in Katata. Let’s eat. After breakfast, we head to our favorite waterfall. Is this it? Is this it? Ah, this is it. It’s rare to see someone here before us. There’s usually no one here. Maybe that’s the waterfall? No, not that one. It feels like we’re going all the way to the end of it. We’ve walked quite a distance. I can already hear the sound of the waterfall. It sounds amazing. It’s so close. There’s a lot of water. The greenery is beautiful! The fresh greenery is so pretty. It’s 180 meters (to the waterfall). Surprisingly close. The greenery is so beautiful! It’s so pretty. Isn’t May or June the most beautiful time of the year? The water is so blue. It would be hot in summer, too. It’s hot in the summer. It’s cool right now. It’s a green space. So relaxing. We’ve arrived! This is it. The stage is set up properly. This is the first time, isn’t it? A waterfall with a stage (lol) This is the first time I’ve seen one with a stage. The wind is blowing, it feels so good. It’s always really mossy, but this time it’s green like leaves, isn’t it? Not moss green. The spray is amazing. It’s true. It’s like a direct current, isn’t it? In a straight line. I’ve entered the location of the facility into the navigation system, so just ignore there. This is it! This is it! Here we are! Metasequoia Avenue: A green tunnel of about 2.4 km, made up of 500 trees. It’s beautiful. Be careful, grandma! Grandpa? Grandpa, be careful. Wow, it’s amazing. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? I wish the sky was a little brighter. Some people are taking pictures. It’s true. It’s beautiful. Beautiful. It said that the autumn leaves are beautiful at this time of year. I wonder if dogs can see the green too. It’s pretty long. It looks like it goes out at intervals and then re-enters the green tunnel. I’d like to see it again in autumn. Yellow leaves. It’s over. So long. It was long. It was beautiful. Now that we’ve seen it, we’re going to eat some soba noodles. We’re going to Nagahama. You can switch drivers somewhere. What, an hour’s drive? Oh, Futabaya (supermarket). Nagahama was close. It was surprisingly close. It’s just a straight road the whole way. We could probably go around Lake Biwa in one day, right? By car, it’d be easy. But wouldn’t it take quite a while by bicycle? They said it would take two days and one night by bicycle. I wonder how long it would take by car? Could it be done in half a day? Just today, we drove about half way around Lake Biwa in the morning. That’s true. If I really try, I think I can get there in just over half a day. I came to Nagahama City for lunch. Kurokabe Square: Glass, miscellaneous goods, and cafes—a fun streetscape to walk around. This is it. Yokaro: A specialty restaurant for the local dish “grilled mackerel somen,” There is a menu “Ochiyozen”. I also want to try mackerel sushi. Saba Kaido, with this menu, also has red konjac. A 200-year-old renovated Edo-period townhouse. What shall we order? This menu is fine. Can I have this one? Would you eat one piece of red konjac? Saba Kaido with grilled mackerel sushi: A recommended set that lets you eat two types of mackerel. I’ve been wanting red konjac. Let’s eat. Is this warm? The mackerel meat is falling apart. It’s warm. There’s something on top. What is red konjac? It tastes like konjac. Of course it’s konjac. I thought it would be something like namafu dengaku. But it’s completely different, it’s just konjac. Maybe it was taken by a cat? Oh, but maybe it was. Poor thing, it was taken. Please give it back. A cat wouldn’t take that one. After eating, we went to a nearby play spot. Yanmar Museum: An interactive museum with the theme of “Let’s try it!” Kocchan tried his hand at driving a backhoe! We got to test drive a real backhoe. There was lots of fun, even for adults. We came to a cafe for a break. Iron Horse: A coffee shop with a chic atmosphere. This glass has Mickey Mouse on it. The coffee is delicious! It’s delicious, try it. Delicious. The best coffee I’ve had recently . After our break, we headed to another waterfall we’d discovered. It’s a five-minute walk from the parking lot. Does that mean this is the parking lot? Or is it wrong ? Is the road fine? Where is the parking lot? Is this? Is it here? What does that sign say? The sign says waterfall. Should we go from here? That gravel road was scary. I wonder where to get to the waterfall. Oh, so we start from here. Can we get there? Yeah, this way. Can you see it? Well, I can hear the water. This is the largest waterfall parking lot in history. It feels like a sports field. I’ve never seen anywhere this big before. Denny (my car) standing there all alone. He says to watch out for leeches. Yes. Apparently this is Mr. Yokuro’s waterfall. He used to fish here. Huh? Can we go ahead? The road is really narrow, can we get there? Oh, so that’s the waterfall? Huh? It can’t be that. That’s where it looks like it’s below. There’s a lot of overgrowth here. Yeah. But I think this is the right path. There should be stairs. Are there any stairs to go down? There are stairs! Oh, that’s it. It’s so narrow. Oh, this is it. Yokuro Falls: A relatively small waterfall with a drop of about 10m. It’s kind of compact. Compact. Leech! Leech! Huh? Huh? Oh no, let’s hurry back to the parking lot. Oh no, oh no, did I get stung? Oh no. While we were fighting the leech, it was getting dark. Going to sleep in my car at a roadside station tonight, so we’ll go get something to eat. Oh, there’s Chanpontei. It suddenly appeared. Chanpontei Nagahama: A local ramen chain originating in Shiga Prefecture. Omi Chanpon: Their most popular signature dish. There’s tons of egg in it. Yeah, I’m happy. The soup is sparkling. It looks delicious. It’s clear. It’s crystal clear. The flavor is super light. It feels like there’s stir-fried vegetables on top. Delicious. The cabbage is so crunchy. After eating, we headed to the roadside station. We’ll take a nap here today. This trip to Shiga allowed me to once again appreciate the beauty of the fresh greenery. Thank you for watching our video until the end. Our journey is still ongoing. We’d love it if you’d support us with channel subscriptions, likes, and comments. This was Hiro-kun and Kotchan.
