Riding 1000km on Motorcycle from Pattani to Bangkok and eating The MOST Delicious Thai Food!

Hey, hey, hey! Welcome back to our hungry adventures! Guys, today we are in Pattani province of Thailand which is located in 1,050 kilometers away from Bangkok. Pattani is not Pattaya.
This is a completely different place. Pattani together with Narathiwat and Yala are considered to be a deep south of Thailand, and Western tourists usually don’t visit this area. It’s actually really really far from Bangkok! So in today’s episode I’m going to ride more than 1,000 kilometers from Pattani to Bangkok. And on my way, I’m going to hunt for the most amazing and the most delicious Thai food and street food I’ll be able to find on the road. The journey is going to take a few days.
Sure, I’m not going to ride a 1,000 km in one day. And of course, I’m inviting you to join me in this hungry adventure, If you have got some time and empty space in your stomach.. Let’s go! Eat here.. This bowl might look pretty ordinary to you. However, it is probably one of the most rare dishes you can find in Thailand. These are noodles but not an ordinary noodles. This thing called “Pak Mor” – as you can see these are huge flat noodles and if you open them there will be vegetables inside. So these are steamed vegetables covered in noodles… and soup together with lots of seafood. And it is really hard to find this dish anywhere else.
This is the first time I’m seeing it. I saw “Pak Mor” noodles before in Bangkok.
However, “Pak Mor Yen Ta Fo Talay” is really the first time for me. The bowl cost only 70 Baht and it is pretty big. There are fresh shrimps.
There is squid, lots of squid. These are mushrooms, silver mushrooms.. Bean sprouts, dried shrimps, and “Pak Mor” noodles themselves. Looks like dumpling, doesn’t it? Mmm.. Wow… Let me try a little bit of squid.. Unbelievably delicious.. Really, really tasty!
Pretty big bowl for 70 Baht. You see, there is really lots of seafood! Wow! Unbelievably delicious.. Initially I was planning to make 3 videos in the deep south:
here in Pattani, then in Yala and Narathiwat. But unfortunately, the situation has changed because there has begun a conflict between Thailand and Cambodia. So the flights of all drones are banned nationwide around entire Thailand, which means I’m not going to be able to do videos I wanted to do here. Because in the deep south the nature is fantastic. So, I prefer to postpone my plans and come back here again later. It is a really horrible situation and I hope it’s going to be over soon, because it’s not something that should be happening in Thailand. Thailand is the land of smile and land of happiness.
So, I hope it will be over as soon as possible. And if government said you cannot fly drones in order to protect lives of soldiers – okay, fine.. I’m not going to fly. Can try later.. Which means this video will be a pure motorbike vlog.. because I still believe that I must continue posting positive videos on this channel. People need to relax somehow. By the way, the restaurant is called “Krua Pak Mor at Pattani” in case you decide to visit it someday. Food here is amazingly tasty – you can see it on my face! 27641 km.

This is Pak Phanang district of Nakhon Si Thammarat province. After riding for 250 km, the lower part of my body is asking for mercy.
But there is 750 km more to Bangkok. Nevertheless, today we’ll be sleeping in Nakhon Si Thammarat, I guess. Because the soup of brain is already cooked..
which is right here in this little skull. And I found a restaurant called “Khanom Yim Seafood” right here by the coastline. This area historically is super windy which is why the sea is eating the beach itself. So the coastline is covered with the stones. And there are incredibly many wind power plants..
those windmills along the road.. and when you are riding along that road – you don’t feel that hot, which is why I love to ride this road more than the motorway. It’s a little bit longer longer route – however, it’s more enjoyable.. because when the sun is unbearably hot.. the air is unbearably hot..
you still can enjoy with the wind! Okay, let’s go eat! What do we eat today? Rice! 
Rice. And nothing else. Ah no… Here is baby squid in sweet sauce with garlic. Oh, this smell.. This smell is better than any drone video. Looks beautiful. And what’s hidden here in this beautiful pot? Woonsen noodles with shrimps. Looks amazing.. smells amazing.. The noodles are really fragrant and the portion looks quite big. How many shrimps?
One,  two, three, four shrimps and some extra vegetables at the bottom. it’s very hot.. Belissimo, buonissimo! But to be honest, the noodles are very tasty by themselves. First of all, because they are cooked together with shrimps, 
so they take the smell and the flavor of shrimps.. But also when people cook this menu they add garlic, black pepper and ginger.. if I remember correctly.. and that gives this unique flavor to the noodles. Which is why I can eat just plain noodles even without shrimps, because they are amazingly tasty! And for some reason, this dish doesn’t get much attention from foreigners, from tourists. However, it’s more delicious than “Pad Thai”, in my opinion.

Look at the sky! All right.. So, why did we come here and why did I buy this 7-8 kg chicken? It is really heavy. 
Let me put it here first.. The place is called “Wat Ai Khai”.
It is a really big temple complex here in the Nakhon Si Thammarat. “Ai Khai” is a 10-years old boy who lived in the old times back in the Ayutthaya era around 200-300 years ago. Accordingly to one of the legends “Ai Khai” – this little boy – he traveled together with the monk “Luang Pu Thuat”.. I was talking about him in the previous episode. So they were traveling together and they stopped in this area and unfortunately “Ai Khai” got seriously sick and then he passed away. “Luang Pu Thuat” cremated his body and his ashes remained here, and his spirit also remained here.. Later.. people in the surrounding area came to pray here. Somebody prayed for the buffalo to return because there was a disappeared buffalo.. and luckily buffalo has returned. People believed it was a miracle, and they started to bring chickens – alive chickens first, because “Ai Khai” loved to play with chickens. It was his favorite pet. At first, people started to bring here real chickens, alive chicken.
There was a lot of pooping on the ground from the chickens. People had to decide: 
what we can do to make this place cleaner? And they decided to replace alive chickens with statues. And since then people kept bringing statues of chickens and roosters..
and praying.. And many people say that their wish has been granted.. And it is the reason why I’m here too, because 5 years ago I went to this area for the very first time. I visited this temple for the very first time, and I brought a little rooster for 30 Baht or something. And I made a wish that my channel started to grow, because back then it was around 20,000 subscribers.. 5 years ago. I was really skeptic about it.. However, after visiting this temple on the way back to Bangkok, I made one final video on this trip.. Chicken.. Hello chicken! Look, they’re so funny! I’m just lucky today.. And once I returned to Bangkok, this video went viral and many people were commenting about that episode. And this was the moment when the channel started to grow. So back that day, I promised if my channel will start to grow, I’m going to come here again and bring a bigger chicken for “Ai Khai”. And this is why I bought this big rooster, which is much bigger than the first one. It is very heavy..

And steam rice please. Guys, this restaurant is called “Tai Kham Thai Food”. and it might be one of the most amazing places here in Sichon area of Nakhon Si Thammarat province. I went here just one time 5 years ago and I still remember how amazingly delicious the food was – it was really fantastic.. and yet there are no crowds of tourists, no crowds of visitors.. and to be honest I love all restaurants with such style of setting.. with these beautiful tables, beautiful roofs made of bamboo and etc.
It gives kind of countryside feeling.. feeling of being away from the city. I don’t know why does it feel so good to be in such places. And this is the food:
“Pad Khai Bai Liang” – Melinjo leaves fried with egg. And this is “Pad Prik Gaeng Talay” which means stir fried seafood with curry paste.. squid mixed with shrimps.. and a couple slices of cucumber.. Mmm very rich taste.. Unbelievably delicious.. And of course “Pad Khai Bai Liang” which is the 
signature dish of Southern Thailand. Wow.. It is so juicy… Absolutely must try in Thailand. This is the dish number one! Mindblowing.. Wow.. Hello.. Can I change the engine oil today?

Okay.. Welcome to Suratthani, place where we’ll be changing the engine oil. Honda is probably the most popular brand of motorbikes in Thailand. If you buy Honda, you can do repairs or find spare parts in any part of Thailand. And as a motorbike rider, you always think what motorbike might be your next one. What is your next purchase? Honda TransAlp 750! Yes, it is a little bit bigger.
However, it is more powerful, more capable, more comfortable.. More expensive.. twice as expensive as Honda CB500x. But when you are doing long tours, like to deep south or tours to Chiang Mai, Ching Rai.. or if you want to take a ride to Ubon and to Udon.. Sometimes you feel a bigger bike would be really great, especially when you’re traveling with camping gear. Oh, yeah.. But of course, I love my CB500X.

Softness… There is one thing I really love about “Hop Inn” hotels. First of all, of course, they are located almost in every city around Thailand, except for the deep south. And every time you’re coming to “Hop Inn” hotel, 
there will be a blue door and there will be a red chair.. And all rooms look the same.
It is quiet, beds are amazingly comfortable – you just want to sleep forever! And they’ve got coffee downstairs for free.
There is a coffee machine.. which is why I’m drinking cocoa this morning. AROICA cocoa 18-in-1, with all the vitamins and nutrients – just the increased amount of them.. increased quantity. with egg for 100 Baht – amazing! Huge bowl of seafood noodles for 100 Baht.. I was unable to find any other place that would serve such delicious and affordable dishes.. and fresh.. These are the most beautiful shrimps I’ve seen in my life.. Nothing could be better..
I really can move to Chumphon just because of this restaurant.. I also ordered “Pad Krapao” with crab meat and lots of chili, which looks really good. You can’t find something like this in Bangkok city. 
Maybe you can, but it will be very expensive. Mmm so juicy.. Ohhh and very spicy.. Unbelievable.. Okay, I woke up finally. Mmm.. Very tasty. And rice.. Rice is delicious! You see this is crab roe.
This tiny yellow thing is a crab roe. And there is more of it. When was the last time you’ve eaten “Pad Krapao” with crab meat and with crab roe? I even forgot for a moment that it is unbearably hot outside,
because it is very hot inside too! Wow.. Amazing..

I need to check the odometer but I think a little bit more than that. Okay, so the odometer shows 28,792 km.
When I was in Pattani I checked the odometer and it was 27641. Now it is 28792. So the the difference is 1,151 kilometer.. in 3 days.. Yeah, probably I’m not going to be able to sit for the next 2 days, but it was really interesting journey. Today I made around 450 km, maybe a little bit more. Uh, durian.. Oh, looks good.. Still good smell.. Oh, so sweet! Slightly crispy on the outside, but soft inside.. like it’s supposed to be! Mmm.. Wow.. Welcome back to Bangkok! Incredibly sweet.. Amazing..
Wow.. So, at the end, what can I say? It was interesting adventure.
Now we are taking a break but there will be new episodes. Hopefully soon the ban for flying drones will be lifted so we can continue exploring the nature.. Because, of course, we can create many videos traveling around Thailand.
But I really love flying. Flying is just another feeling.. just like riding a motorbike. but when I hit the bed I’m smiling inside, because I’m still alive. For some people it might seem easy creating travel content on a motorbike. Some people say: “Oh, go and do this, go do and that..
You must do this way.. You must do that way..” I can say only one thing:
Buy yourself a video camera. Get yourself a motorbike. Take a thousand kilometers ride to the south, north or east – and try to travel and make content, edit and post it while you are traveling.. and we will see how good you are at it! It’s just some thinking at the end of the road..
Because after 1,151 km – I’m completely wasted. But luckily, I got a lot of durian and your support. Thank you all.
