Japan Tokyo 4K Walking Tour 2025

Walking around the local shrines in Machida City Current location: Machida, Tokyo The current location appears to be Kanamori 8-chome, Machida City. I will visit the local shrine. Your subscription is the beginning of a journey. Let’s go to a new view. Looking at post-war aerial photographs of this area, it was once rural and farmland, and remnants of that time are still evident. Shoichii Inari Daimyojin. Details are unknown. It has been protected by local people since ancient times. There are a lot of tree stumps. This area must have been like a forest in the past. A graveyard in a residential area. I wonder what kind of situation it is to build a graveyard outside of a temple. Kanamori Nishida Sugiyama Shrine. Founded in 1683 Have all the trees been cut down? Amazing. The sacred tree also in a pitiful state Gorilla stuffed toy Temples, shrines, and Buddhist temples are also based on location. If the location is good, the family business left by our ancestors can be profitable. It looks burnt. Maybe it was burned. I feel like I’m tired of maintaining it. The soil is exposed. Looking at photos on the internet, you can see the area in the past, when there were trees nearby. Only the stump remains. This is my own torii gate and my own shrine in the garden of an ordinary house. It’s nice. I think it would sell overseas. If we were to create a tourist shrine or temple overseas, we could make a profit from admission fees and the sale of amulets, etc. We arrived at Jorakuji Temple. It is unclear when it was founded. It is estimated to be in the 1600s. It’s mostly residential. It seems to be used as a meeting place called Machiya Center. Is this the meeting place? Since the Edo period, Japanese people have had to register with a local temple under the danka system. Even today, in rural areas, the temple parish system remains, since people have ancestral graves there. Even today, there are 80,000 temples in Japan. This is a remnant of that time. I can see a forest in the distance. What is it? Is that a high-rise apartment building in Minami-Machida in the distance? It seems that only one corner of the forest is at a higher altitude. It seems that the shrine we were heading for is located right in the forest. I can see the stairs. Machiya Yasaka Shrine The annual festival is on July 12th. Bingo game. Koshin tower. A six-armed statue of the blue-faced Vajra. At the base are carved the three monkeys: see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. It’s more like a prefabricated building. It doesn’t connect to the depths of the forest. It’s just an entrance. That’s all for today. Thank you for watching. Your subscription will help me to take on the next journey.
