Hello! This is Hankyu Dojo Yumiya! Today we’re climbing a mountain! Part 2! Yay! Last time, we climbed Mt. Mitake in Okutama, but today we’re climbing Mt. Tanigawa in Gunma. Yay! Wow, we’ve leveled up! Although we’re talking about Mt. Tanigawa, it’s actually a mountain resort called Tanigawadake Yochho, operated by Hoshino Resorts . You can reach an altitude of 1,500 meters by ropeway and lift , so even beginners can feel at ease. Once you reach the top, there are walking trails , so it feels like a hike. So, today I’m wearing sneakers! Today’s schedule is to first take the Kan’etsu Expressway to Minakami, then head to the lift station. We’ll be at Yochho for about two hours, so we’ll take it easy, take a walk, and then head home. On the way back, I’d like to stop by a roadside station in Gunma, or maybe eat some ramen. Driving is all about snacks! Ta-da! I bought a lot of snacks today! At Don Quijote! Let’s start with some snacks. I was feeling like having some sweets. Okay. So, first up. Karamuucho, spicy wagyu beef! Yay! I love Karamuucho. Porinky mentaiko flavor! Looks yummy! Petagu gummy! Cola flavor! Super hard gummy , cola! I love cola! Cola flavor is the best, right? Gummies! Kororo. A classic. Otokoume gummy. This is delicious. The best, right? I’ll start with the Otokoume gummy. The salty taste is irresistible, isn’t it? Let’s eat. Yes. Delicious. As for Tanigawadake Yoch, it’s a scenic spot at an altitude of 1,500 meters in Minakami Town, Gunma Prefecture, and its selling point seems to be easy access to the mountain via ropeway and lift . This is my first time climbing Tanigawadake. It’s like, “Tanigawadake…” There are some serious mountaineering courses, too. I’ve always wanted to go. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to climb up so easily with a lift like this? The name “Joch” means “saddle” in German, and it seems to refer to its location halfway up Mt. Tanigawa. One of the attractions of Joch is the Rainbow Walk Road, a walking path in the sky that you can walk on in sneakers. It’s right here. I’d like to take a look. Apparently, if you’re lucky, you can see a rainbow! That’s why it’s called Rainbow Road. There was a stylish cafe, so I thought I’d have lunch there. It’s about 12 o’clock now. I think I’ll probably make it, so I’d like to have lunch at a cafe! This Joch has courses ranging from beginner to advanced , all the way to the summit of Mt. Tanigawa. I think they said it takes about 300 minutes to reach the peak, which seems like a really long time. It’s great to be able to reach the peak, isn’t it? Apparently, you can also cycle on Joch, renting an electric bike and riding through the beech forest! That cycling experience sounds great, doesn’t it? So that was a brief introduction to Tanigawadake Joch! Have you been there? Mt. Tanigawa. I’m looking forward to going there! On the way back, I hope to be able to eat and experience something unique to Gunma. Speaking of Gunma, I love Gunma and have been there. A few years ago, I went to the roadside station in Kawaba Village, the “Tanbara Lavender Fields,” Mt. Haruna, Ikaho, Kusatsu, and other places! I just love Gunma. Gunma. Good Gunma! When I think of Gunma, I think of “Initial D”! It’s the home of “Initial D.” It’s the mountain pass “Akinayama” where the main character, Takumi Fujiwara, boarded the train. This is modeled after the real Mt. Haruna. A while ago, I went up to Mt. Haruna and rowed a swan boat across Lake Haruna. I wonder if it’s still there? Swan, huh? This must be a holy place! I thought. The holy places for “Initial D” are Mt. Haruna, and also Mt. Akagi. Let’s attack Akagi! It’s the base of the Akagi Red Suns. And then there’s Usui Pass. It’s the setting for Impact Blue, right? And then there’s Mount Myogi. It’s the home of Myogi Night Kids. Gunma is really a great place, isn’t it? Come to think of it, the Fujinoya Tofu Shop, which served as the model for Fujiwara Tofu Shop, is currently being recreated and exhibited at the Ikaho Toy, Doll, and Car Museum. Huh? I’ve never been there. I want to go there! Ah, I see. Gunma Prefecture, Shibukawa Ikaho, is a pilgrimage spot for Initial D. Like this pass. Museums and hot springs. It’s irresistible for fans! Actually, I got my driver ‘s license with a manual transmission. So sometimes I think I’d like to drive a manual car, and the reason I got one is because at the time, my mother’s car was manual , and even though I got my driver’s license, I thought I’d probably borrow her car for the time being . Are there more automatic-only cars these days? I guess about half of the time, it’s limited to automatic transmissions. At the time, I was working hard to get my driver’s license when I turned 18 , and I went ahead and got it , but it was so crowded that I couldn’t get it until two or three months later. I even had to draw a lottery ticket to get a cancellation before going to school. After I got my license, I borrowed my mother’s car for a while. The first car I bought was a Suzuki Alto. It was a cute little Alto. I was so happy to have it at the time, I washed it every day. It cost about 140,000 yen, which I’d saved up from a part-time job, and I took really good care of it. But that first Alto I bought had a manufacturing defect. While I was driving, smoke started coming out of the transmission and it stopped working. I was in a complete panic at the time. I’d heard of manufacturing defects, but I thought, “Oh, I guess that happens.” I never thought my car would break down. I remember panicking quite a bit at the time. But they fixed it after that. For four years. I drove it almost every day, and it was a very comfortable ride. But when I say comfortable ride, if I turn on the air conditioning , it suddenly becomes difficult to go fast, so I don’t have air conditioning, and I have to open the windows manually by turning them round and round, but to me, it was a very important car! This is a story about my beloved car. I’ve ridden it since then, too. I’ve gotten rid of my car now. I’m still renting one today. I think having a car is really convenient. Now that I live in Tokyo, I don’t feel the need for it as much, so I got rid of it once, but I still think it’s so convenient! Maybe I should buy an 86 from “Initial D”? Yeah. Right now. The second season of MF Ghost is over now. Apparently the third season is coming out next year. Wouldn’t a “Katagiri Natsumu model” be nice? The highlight of MF Ghost is when the characters from “Initial D” appear as older versions, right? It’s so good. The first and second seasons are over now, and the third season is scheduled to come out next year. I was watching it. The part where they go through the fog. That part. I absolutely loved it. Isn’t that driving skill incredible? I was moved by the way they drove through complete darkness. I wanted to make a pilgrimage to the MF Ghost holy sites, so maybe I should go to Kamakura or Hakone? This summer! I was thinking about it. It’s a little hot, so once the heat subsides, I’d like to go to the Kamakura or Hakone area. In Kamakura, I’d like to see the Great Buddha, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and Yuigahama Beach, which all appear in the anime, so I’d like to visit those areas. I had plans to go, but even if I went by train, riding the Enoshima Electric Railway or walking would be a bit much. I thought it would be impossible in 35 degrees. See you later. I’d like to go once the heat calms down a bit. Ah, I’m looking forward to it. A pilgrimage to sacred sites. Apparently the cafe where Katagiri Natsumu worked is now a seafood bowl restaurant. I’d like to go there too! Also, while watching MF Ghost, I was impressed by the convenience stores, beef bowl restaurants, family restaurants, and the sweets that appear in the show. Like “Takenoko no Sato.” I thought, “Wow! ” It was a bit surprising. It really feels like a real place, doesn’t it? I’d like to go to places like that too! I’m looking forward to the third season of MF Ghost! Right now, I’m at Oizumi Junction! Here. It seems like it goes all the way around. It feels a bit like Mario Kart. 1km to the parking lot in Miyoshi. Next, a quick break at the parking lot in Miyoshi. Starbucks! Ah! So cool! Shopping at Starbucks. “Good morning.” Yes, good morning! The biggest caramel Frappuccino. The biggest one. “A venti size?” Yes! Venti! It’s so hot, you drink it right away, right? Oh, I know! Yes! The biggest one. They didn’t bring out the venti. Ah, ah, ah, ah. It’s hot outside. Today. The temperature on Mt. Tanigawa was 30°. I wonder what it’s like? Thank you! Okay! Let’s go! It’s so hot! I can’t keep my eyes open! Yes. Starbucks. I got the biggest venti size caramel Frappuccino. Thank you. Mmm. Mmm! It’s amazing. This bittersweet taste is also the best. Delicious. I bought some Starbucks in the parking lot in Miyoshi and took a toilet break. Snack time. Porinky, Porinky? I was attracted by this mentaiko flavor so I bought it. Wow! Looks delicious! Yes! Delicious ! I’m a little hungry now. That’s true. After the Porinky , I had Karamuucho, Spicy Wagyu! Wagyu! Is there such a thing as Wagyu? Ah! Amazing! Amazing ! This is it! It’s easy to eat! It’s like fries. Mmm! Delicious! Yes. It’s not too spicy! It definitely tastes like Wagyu ! Yes! Good! This! Would n’t it be good for a drive ? Ah! Spicy! It comes later! The spiciness! Good ! It’s addictive! Delicious! Mmm! Petagu! Petagu! Thin, hard, and addictive. Petagu. It’s Petagu. Petagu. Petagu. Delicious. This has a satisfying texture. I like it. If it were gummy candy, I’d definitely go for the cola flavor. Grape flavor. I’m still driving on the Kan’etsu Expressway, and it’s about 20 minutes until Maebashi. I’m just passing through Takasaki, and directly ahead of me is Mount Haruna. Speaking of Mount Haruna, I think of the Akina Speed Stars. Iketani-senpai and Kenji-senpai. Can you see Mount Haruna? It’s kind of cloudy today. Overall. Shibukawa, Maebashi, Shibukawa. I can see Mount Akagi right now, but I can’t see it. Hold on a minute. Speaking of Akagi, I think of Takahashi Ryosuke and Keisuke. The fastest theory on public roads. I want to challenge Akagi, the doctor’s son . Yes. I’m about to exit at the Minakami exit. Everything’s going pretty smoothly. I’m glad we got here relatively smoothly. It shouldn’t take much to drive there from here. It should take about 20 minutes. There’s a parking lot. I’ve arrived at the Tanigawadake Ropeway reception! I’m going to buy a ticket. There are quite a few people here. Amazing! Today’s weather. It says 25°! I wonder if the weather will be like that up there? Tenjindai. Let’s go buy one! Yes! I bought one! Tanigawadake Yoho. I’m going to ride it now! This one. I was surprised at how many people there were. The parking lot was six stories high, and it was full! Amazing! Stylish! Nice. Daruma dolls are famous, right? I remember making daruma dolls on an elementary school field trip. I’m looking forward to it. Riding the ropeway. I’m looking forward to it! I wonder how long it’s been since I’ve been on a ropeway. Ah! Amazing! I wonder if it can carry about 15 people? It’s hotter inside the ropeway than I thought. It’s hot. I wonder if it will cool down once I get to the top? There’s a slightly humid wind blowing today. It was raining. It’s fun! Wow! It’s pretty fast! Wow! Amazing! Wow! It’s amazing! There’s a river flowing through it. Ah! There’s a road you can go on by car too. The river is flowing! Amazing. Bye-bye! Can’t you see it? Amazing. Amazing. If there weren’t ropeways like this, it would be quite hard to walk from here, right? Summer is nice, but it would be amazing in the fall too, wouldn’t it? Here. The fan I received earlier is amazing. What was 360° Sky Park originally called? It was for skiing, right? You grab your skis and climb up to the top. Then maybe you took a lift or something? Wow, you climb so high in one go. I wonder if there’ll be a cool breeze when you get to the top? That’s what you’re looking forward to, right? You’re looking forward to it. The ropeway comes frequently, so I’m glad you were able to ride it smoothly. I’m sure the lift ride will be smooth too, right? Ah! Cool! Ah! Cool! When I got off, a cool breeze suddenly blew through! Ah! That’s great! It’s totally cool! It’s the best! Is it just a little cloudy? It feels like a highland! Yeah! That’s totally fine! Amazing! Refreshing! Now, I’d like to go to a restaurant in Tenjin! There’s a restaurant at the top of the ropeway, and it seems they serve stylish lunches there. Wow! Amazing! Feels good! Refreshing! Invigorating! The cafe at the top of the lift is closed on weekdays. : It looks like they’re only open on weekends. It gives off such a sense of freedom! Yeah. It makes you want to scream, doesn’t it? Amazing! That’s great! Yes. So, Tenjin ramen and bread gratin. Okay! Paying the bill . Great! You can use your card! OK! “Yes! So bread, then?” “Yes! We’ll start cooking it now. ” “ Please wait here .” “Yes! Thank you! ” “Tenjin ramen. We’ll bring it to you up ahead, so please wait.’ ‘ “Number 79.’ ‘ Yes. Thank you . It’s fine. “Yes. Sorry to keep you waiting . ” Thank you. Amazing. First, a toast with Tanigawadake’s natural water. Delicious! Delicious! First, ramen to fill your stomach. Ramen. Looks good ! Let’s eat ! Delicious! Wow ! Looks good! Delicious! Delicious! It has a strong flavor. I’m tired after all, so it really hits home. Yes. Next up! Tanigawadake bread gratin! It seems to be inspired by Tanigawadake. Look! It’s fluffy! Wow! Amazing! There’s stew inside the bread! Amazing! It looks so delicious! Let’s eat! Delicious ! It was just the part with the bacon. It’s chewy and delicious! The richness of the cheese and butter is amazing! Mmm! Delicious ! It’s piled high with carrots, broccoli, bacon, and more . Wow! This is definitely Tanigawadake gratin. They were really promoting it, weren’t they? Amazing! The height of luxury. Yes! Yes! Broccoli! Delicious! I think this is the first time I’ve had such a rich gratin. Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Ramen and Tanigawadake gratin. It was really tasty! I ate it all in one go! I especially felt that the Tanigawadake gratin was made with great care! It was rich. It was delicious! All the girls love it. It was a feast! Dessert after the meal! Soft serve ice cream. Yes! Delicious! Super rich. This is delicious! Yes! Good! Yes! So! I’m on the lift! What a breeze. It feels so good! This is the lift in winter. Apparently it turns into a ski lift, so everything you can see now will be a slope. Looks fun! It must be so nice to ski in this kind of weather, right? Also. You can hear the Japanese bush warblers singing here too. The sense of the seasons is definitely different from down there. Ever since I was little, I went skiing every year, especially to Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort in Niigata. Skiing is fun, isn’t it? When I get on the lift, I remember those memories. I wonder if I’ll be able to go skiing this year? I’m not sure. I want to go. Skiing. Do you all like skiing? There was a movie called “Take Me Skiing” a long time ago, and I saw it once. It was popular, wasn’t it? Skiing. You know. Hydrangeas are blooming. It’s along a cliff. Here too. Is the mountain a cliff? When I think of memories of skiing, I think of ramen or curry for lunch. When you’re hungry after skiing, having curry is the best! It’s an unforgettable taste, isn’t it? Look at this! Amazing! Magnificent! It’s amazing! It’s about 25 degrees. We’ve arrived at the observation deck! Cheers! Observation deck! What! Ah! Amazing! There’s a cafe here. Wow. Wow, amazing! Mt. Tanigawa is over there ! Yes! Amazing! It seems close, but it’s far away, right? Yes! So! Mt. Tanigawa, one of Japan’s 100 famous mountains, is visible behind me. Amazing! It fits in the palm of your hand! Like, lol, it fits in the palm of your hand! Lol, Mt. Tanigawa, 1977m! It feels like a birthday. Someone’s lol , amazing! There are a few people on the summit of Mt. Tanigawa ! Amazing ! I ‘d like to climb it someday ! It’s huge! Since I’m here, I’ll try the telescope. It seems it costs 100 yen to use, so I’ll give it a try! Can I see it? Amazing! I can see it clearly! Ah! Ah! Amazing! I can see the mountain path to Mt. Tanigawa and people going down! Wow! Amazing! The mountainside looks beautiful! In the shade, it suddenly feels cool. There are lots of dragonflies. Red dragonflies. There’s also Tenmangu Shrine. So, shall we try this Osankata path? The Rainbow Walking Road is a 20-minute path. There’s even a beginner’s course. This is what it’s like, your first time. Ultimately, climbing Mt. Tanigawa is also nice. I’m walking along the Rainbow Walking Road! It’s a ski slope in winter. It’s spacious and refreshing! Amazing! It would be great to ski while looking at this view! Wow. You know. The sunshine. The sun is strong, but the breeze is refreshing. I don’t see many plants here either. There are a lot of highland plants, though. Wow, this magnificent view! Amazing! Also. There are lots of insects, like grasshoppers. Grasshoppers have been coming onto my feet for a while now. It feels good. りでわだわ。 English: I thought everyone would be walking along this Rainbow Walking Road, but surprisingly there wasn’t anyone there, so it felt like I had the view all to myself. What a luxury. Wow! This area is amazing too! I’ll send you a little bit of the view around here on my cell phone. Yes. It’s good. Look at that. Like this. I have this view all to myself! Amazing! This is amazing! I’m the only one walking here. It’s amazing! The height of luxury. A magnificent view! Oops… I’m sweating so much… I can’t let go of my handkerchief. I’m sweating so much. It’s so beautiful! It’s amazing! It’s really beautiful! When the wind blows it feels so good! It’s the best! Just like this. As I’m going down the mountain. It reminds me of Mt. Mitake which I went to last week. When I’m going downhill, my legs feel so shaky. Also, unlike Mt. Mitake, this is a plateau! It feels like a paradise for insects. I’ve come down to where I was a while ago! I guess I can go down this much as I went up on the lift. Isn’t that amazing? I went down that far. It was kind of like a walking course, or a bit of a climb. I was going down the mountain. I came up on the ropeway, went half way up on the lift, and then walked back down. Isn’t this course great? I’m enjoying it to the fullest! I’m enjoying it to the fullest today! Hammock! Wow! Ah! It feels so good. It’s the best. I like it. I like it. In the middle of the “Sanpo Road” there was something called a detour swing. There was a simple swing set up in a tree, and it felt like I was flying in the air. Wow! Amazing! Interesting ! Amazing! Really! Ah! It looks like I’m flying! Amazing! Wow! Yahoo! Yahoo! Yahoo! Yahoo! Wow! This feels great! It ‘s the best! It’s just in the shade. The breeze feels great when I pedal like this! The sweat blowing in the wind feels so good. Oh! It’s the best! Wow! This feels so good! Oops. Okay, hold on a second. I’m scared to get off this. Okay. Okay. Yes. I got off. To celebrate the establishment of Mountain Day. Mountain Day is next week, is n’t it? It looks like the border of Gunma prefecture. Shall we ring it? It says “Safe Climbing Bell.” Everyone. I guess people ring this bell to pray for a safe climb. They seem to have all kinds of bubbles and balls available to rent for free ! That’s great! I’m going to take the ropeway down the mountain now. The sweat has dried and it feels just right, starting to cool down. It must be around 2 o’clock now. It’s a little past 2 o’clock, but there are still people coming up. Yeah. That was fun! I’ll go back to the car and stop by if there’s a nice place on the way back. We’ve arrived at the Minakami roadside station! It looks like there’s a farm stand! Shall we go in for a bit? It’s pretty spacious! Vegetables. Oh! They’re actually pretty cheap. 130 yen for 5 cucumbers! What? That’s so cheap? They look delicious! Fresh wood ear mushrooms. These would be delicious in tempura, right? Edamame beans look tasty. The things you get at roadside stations like this look delicious, don’t they? See! Bitter melon is half price! Potatoes are only 100 yen! They’re really cheap! They even have Danshaku potatoes. Let’s go to the trout catching area! Is this it? It’s awesome that we can catch trout, right? It’s a rainbow trout. Rainbow loud. Mine. Rainbow trout are my favorite. Of all the trout. Amazing! It really is a river! Is it an artificial pond? We’ll grab the trout that are floating here. Amazing! Okay! Okay. It says the experience is 30 minutes. Does that mean we have to catch them within 30 minutes? “It’ll be 1000 yen.” Yes! Thank you! Let’s do our best to catch one! Here we go. Ah! It’s cold! So refreshingly cold! So good! Just being in it feels nice. Is this river water? It feels really cold! Lately, tap water is hot the moment you turn it on. But not here. Amazing! Ah! There it is! There it is! There it is! This one’s going. Surely it’s not going to work? This one? Ah! Look! Let’s catch it! Oh! Oh, sorry! Amazing! It’s slippery! Hey lol it was big and slippery lol It went a little way. Let’s try again. It was around here. Ah! There it is, there it is, there it is, there it is, there it is! Come on, come on, come on. Here we go, here we go, here we go! Ah, I caught one! Ah, sorry, sorry, sorry! Okay. Hey, hey, I caught one! I caught one! Look! It’s big! Isn’t it big? Is that okay? Okay, okay. Amazing! Here we go. So, can I put it in here? Can I put it in? Can I put it in? Wow! I’m so happy! I caught it! Look! I got it! Yes! I’m so happy! I tried catching some trout, and it was so much fun! A trout, you see. I had it grilled. Here? Here? Oh! Amazing! Look! Is it a rainbow trout? This is it. Grilled trout with salt. They grilled it for me! So fluffy. The flesh is so soft and delicious! Yeah. It’s delicious! Amazing! ‘It’s delicious because we eat it in places like this’ It’s delicious because we eat it in places like this! Seriously. Just like Dad said. Yeah. Delicious! How many of these do you grill in a day? ‘Depending on the customer’ Is there a lot today? “Not many today” Not many today! Well, you’ve come at a good time! Yes! Delicious! Yes! See. It’s already fluffy. Delicious! “Here we go. A 500 yen return gift.” Yes. So you can get five for 500 yen. Okay, let’s take the first shot. I’ll do it with this. Now. Which one should I aim for? I want a scone. Here we go ! Ah! No good! No good! What a shame. It’s hot, so I’ll get pumped up with a Pepsi. Delicious. I’ve been driving all along Route 17 and have just arrived in Ota City. I’m at the Ota roadside station. There’s quite a lot for sale. Wow! There’s white bitter melon like this! Shall I buy one? It’s 120 yen. “Tsurumurasaki” and “Mulukhiya” . Well, I guess that’ll do for now. Yes! On the way back, there was a Yamaokaya, so I’m looking forward to having a hearty dinner! “Tickets are being issued” Wow! Looks delicious! This, this, this soup! This one. It’s good to have a little more oil, isn’t it? Yes! Ah! Delicious! It’s delicious! Yummy! Yummy! Delicious! Delicious ! Yummy! Delicious! Delicious! Yummy! Delicious! It has to be Yamaokaya. Delicious! And this place too. Isn’t it a super popular restaurant? People keep coming one after another! Yummy! Delicious! Looking back on today, the schedule was perfect. We took about three hours to go to Tanigawadake, relaxed for about two hours, and then took a little detour on the way back to Yamaokaya. It was the perfect schedule! It was great! Ramen is the best way to end a trip! It was a feast. It was delicious! It’s the best! Yamaokaya is delicious no matter when you eat it! It was just the right way to end this trip! So! I thoroughly enjoyed Mt. Tanigawa today! It was super fun! Thank you for watching the video! Please be sure to check out the next video! Bye~! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay!
