成都の街に来たら色々とやばかった【中国 ひとり旅】

Hello everyone, this is IMUKEN. Thank you for joining us today. I’m traveling to either Chongqing or Chengdu today . I’m currently staying at a hotel in Chongqing, but I’ll be taking the high-speed rail to Chengdu, which is about an hour and a half away. In my last two posts, locals told me in comments that I should definitely visit both Chongqing and Chengdu. Chengdu is incredibly close to Chongqing, and I’ve already booked my high-speed rail ticket through TRIP.com. Once I’ve booked, all I need to do is board the train. This is my first time in Chengdu. My image of Chengdu is of pandas and I often hear people say there are lots of beautiful women. I’ve also heard that there are a lot of gay people. I’ve also heard that it’s known as a “gay capital.” Since there are many young people here who don’t know much about the gay scene, I’m looking forward to seeing some trends . Let’s get going. I’m afraid I might get lost, so I’ll leave early and relax at the station . It’s about an hour from the city center to Chongqing West Station . I’ve just arrived at the nearest subway station, and I got off at Chongqing West Station. I think there’s a bullet train-like thing over there, so I’ll transfer . Let’s go. We arrived pretty early. I think this is it. This is probably the entrance to the high-speed rail. I booked my ticket through Trip.com again. Every time I’ve taken the high-speed rail, I’ve had to go to the ticket counter and get my ticket, but it seems like that’s no longer necessary. My seat is already assigned through Trip.com, and I just need to scan my passport and enter through the entrance, which is convenient. Trip.com does it all for me . It says Chongqing West Railway Station. It’s intimidating. It’s spacious. It’s spacious and intimidating. It’s a little early. I was thinking maybe I could get something to eat . I found a KFC, so I thought I’d eat there. But KFC and McDonald’s at stations are expensive. I go there every time. Is this the type of place you can’t order from? There’s nothing here. Hold on a second. A burger, fries, and drink is 55 yuan, about 1,100 yen. As expected, the price at the station is 4 minutes for fries. This is K COFFEE. Apparently, KFC is a popular cafe in China. They even provide ketchup, and they’re considerate while I wait for the fries (because they’re hot). Here’s a chicken burger. Let’s eat. Lots of ketchup. The fries are huge. I’m sure someone will say I’m eating junk food all the time again. Let’s go get something to eat when we get to Chengdu . Apparently Chengdu has a lot of hotpot-like places. The girl at the hotpot restaurant the other day said that Chongqing is famous for its spicy hotpot, but Chengdu isn’t. But their palate is weird. What they call “not spicy” is our “super spicy .” It’s huge. Just like KFC. Spicy. Oh, spicy. Why? Eat this and then get on the train. Let’s go ! I’ve finished baggage inspection and entered the station . The 1:30 PM train hasn’t arrived yet. Let’s go upstairs. This place is pretty spacious, too. Every station has shops on the second floor. There’s a McDonald’s, a restaurant, a convenience store. I think it was like this in Shanghai too. The monitor in the center is rotating, which is amazing. It seems it takes about 45 minutes to get to Chengdu from here. Chengdu East Station, I think. It takes about an hour to get to the city center, so I’ll arrive by 4 p.m. Then I’ll take a quick walk around downtown Chengdu and hopefully have dinner. Q&A: I’m thinking about a side job to save some money. Do you think the often-advertised jobs like subtitling and lyric input are suspicious? Do you mean subtitle work? I heard they also offer lyric input. I guess it’s typing lyrics on a computer. I haven’t seen the ads for that, but I don’t think it’s suspicious. If it’s advertised, it’s not. It’s just simple work. There are a lot of side jobs out there that claim you can make money by adding subtitles to videos, but it’s a job that anyone can do if they know how to type, so the pay is low. So, is it fair to say that doing it will help you develop skills? While it might just help you type faster , it’s not a side job that will lead to future growth. I think if you’re going to have a side job, it should lead to future growth. It’s fine if you’re just trying to save money, but things that anyone can do generally tend to pay low, so I think it’s better to do something that only you can do. So, video editing jobs are pretty common, aren’t they? You get a request, you edit the video, and then you deliver it . There are a lot of people who do that, but honestly, it’s a bit iffy. Anyone can do video editing, so it’s possible. And as for whether it will lead to future success, it certainly doesn’t seem appealing to me, as it does develop video editing skills. I think it’s better to make videos and have someone else edit them than to edit them. So , if you’re asking whether you can make money from typing, it’s a bit iffy . I think it would be better to do a side job that will connect you to skills that will lead to future success, not just money . I think it would only bring in a few tens of thousands of yen a month. Even if you work hard, if you can manage to do it for around 20,000 or 30,000 yen a month, it might be worth it. Why not give it a try? It can be surprisingly tiring. It’s time to get on. Hey, isn’t this the one? Maybe it’s because there are second-class and first-class cars . Over there, it says 9 to 16. Those seem to be the car numbers. I’m in 15. Thank you. I’m boarding at platform 19. I wonder if someone else is sitting in my seat again this time? I don’t want to fight with an old guy if possible. On Chinese trains, when you try to sit down, strangers often sit there. But you can’t give in here, so you have to insist that it’s yours . Which car is car 15? It’s over there. 15 over there. This is it. 14D of car 15. Instant cigarette. The moment everyone got off, I started smoking. Does seat D mean it’s a window seat? There are so many people . Oh, 14D. This isn’t a window seat. No one was sitting there. We’re leaving from here. Goodbye, Chongqing. Hello, we’ve just arrived in Chengdu. I was wrong. It took an hour and 15 minutes , but it ‘s now 2:45 PM and we’ve arrived. Is this Chengdu East Station? We’ve arrived. I’m going to Chengdu East Station, which looks pretty close. It looks like a quick subway ride. We’re here. The air in Chengdu smells like pandas. It says “Metro” like this. Easy to understand. Let’s get on. There are so many people. There are a lot of them. But they’re all Chinese. There aren’t many foreign tourists. There aren’t any. I haven’t met any Japanese people either. I wonder if there are any foreigners there? There are lines 7 and 2. I’m taking line 2. I got an Alipay subway code this time too, so I’ll try that. Got there . Easy. Easy Chengdu. I’ll quickly put my luggage down and head out into the city. I got off the station and it’s suddenly quiet. I think I’ll go above ground for now. What, the security situation is suddenly bad. They’re selling adult goods and erotic products. Is it okay to have a store like this at the entrance to the station? I’m in Chengdu. It’s raining. There are bicycles over here. Yay! I’m excited to see bicycles. There were no bicycles in Chongqing, so bicycles were difficult to use in Chongqing, but there are also convenience stores. There are loads of bicycles over here. I can’t live without a bicycle, so I need to get around. There are all kinds of bicycles like this. What is this object of people hugging each other ? This isn’t an adult goods store either, is it? This is the area where the hotel is. There seem to be a lot of things around, except for a convenience store . I don’t know where the really nice hotel is. I’m staying at a place called Mr. Panda Hostel. I can’t find the hotel. This is tricky. There’s no sign, and the map says it’s around here, but it’s not this, right? It’s not. Is it this? It says Mr. Panda Hotel. Is this it? Does anyone else have trouble finding it without a sign? What’s this? There’s a torii-like gate with no written name . Actually, I have a phone with me this time. I’ll try calling. Phones are super convenient. When you check in overseas, they often leave a note telling you to call. Having a phone is handy for times like that. I decided on this hotel last minute. I accidentally canceled my reservation yesterday, but realized it yesterday . I was able to check in and got my card. I booked through Agoda, but they said they weren’t open. Is this really okay? They asked me to cancel, but they had a room available today, so I said, “Okay, I’ll take that,” and paid with Alipay. This is it. It’s a normal hotel. Thank you. It’s 18°C, with an ashtray and air conditioning, and it’s 100 yuan per night, or 2,000 yen. Isn’t that cheap? The view from the window is nice. Local What is this? Life is like this. Roughly speaking, this is the shower room. It’s totally fine. There are towels too . Oh, there’s a Panda, Mr. Panda . This is in there too. Nice. Nice. Thank you. It’s comfortable here, I can sleep without worrying about snoring. There’s even a hair dryer. Yay. It’s around 5pm now and it’s starting to cool down, so I think I’ll go explore the city. I did some research and there’s a pedestrian street in the center, so I’ll go there. I just left the hotel and am heading to the station . Chengdu also has a subway, so it looks convenient. There are bicycles, so it looks easy to get around . The cityscape is exactly what I like. There are high-rise apartment-like buildings here, a bit old-fashioned, local, in an awkward location, and there’s somewhere I want to go, so I’ll go by bicycle. Ban lifted. Anyway, it’s been a while since I’ve been out cycling. Let’s go wild. Let’s go. I’ll be careful. Let’s go. This is fun. It’s dangerous, isn’t it? A beautiful view , only a bicycle can beat . This sunset is nice. Cycling. I’m on Chunxi Road now. I don’t know how to pronounce it, but I’ve arrived in the center. This area seems pretty thriving, so let’s take a walk . They’re selling watermelons. This side seems thriving, so let’s take a walk. Bicycles are convenient, you can go anywhere. With a bicycle, you can cycle from local spots to tourist spots. It’s becoming a city. Is this a pedestrian street? Let’s take a look. I wonder what it’s like. Chengdu is famous for hot pot, as expected. There are signs saying “hot pot” everywhere . Chengdu is synonymous with pandas. Speaking of pandas, this is a shop that sells only stuffed pandas . It’s also a 1 yuan corner. There are nothing but pandas here. So cute. There’s a big screen and it’s spacious. This is a uniquely Chinese ground. It’s bustling. It’s starting to rain. Wow, this is so nice. Is this a food court? I like the Chinese characters for “Chengdu . ” Vendors are already selling umbrellas. Supply and demand are impressive. Let’s walk around here until the rain stops. Is this the clothing area? What’s the fashion scene like in Chengdu? There are a ton of fake love bags . Is this a cheap area? There are fakes too. There are the usual fake brand-name items. Piercings, tattoos, and nails are all 1000 yen. 1000 yen for 1000 yen. A lot of the underground shops are cheap. There’s an advertisement for my favorite, the Spicy Prince. You can charge your phone here, but it’s slippery ? Amazing. It’s great that you can charge your phone here . What kind of dance is this? What is this? Here it is. The pedestrian street was fun. I didn’t take many videos, but it was fun. I’d like to eat something. I’m getting hungry. I’m tired of hotpot . I thought there would be people here, but I was wrong. It’s scary. Yes, it’s scary. This area is downtown and bustling. By the way, it’s Monday evening. It might be even more crowded on the weekend. Is that a tuk-tuk? I looked it up and apparently there are twin towers in Chengdu. They’re lit up at night, so I’m thinking about going to see them. It’s raining, so it’s tough. They sell fruit. This is amazing. What’s this? A peach? The color is beautiful. A pungent-smelling earpick? A store name that sounds like it could be used to pick your ears. They say it’s alien space. Is this a hotel for foreigners? Meat like wood. Beyond meat, wood. Smoked meat layered on top of another until it turned into wood . There’s a sign that says “I’m in Chengdu.” There was a huge traffic jam in Chongqing. Everyone has their own destination, so some motorcyclists wear helmets, others don’t. I guess there aren’t really any rules. Since Chinese motorcyclists ride on the sidewalk, maybe there aren’t really any rules? This is where Taikoo Li ends . There’s Versace. A town where luxury brands and old townscapes blend together . It says “I Love Chengdu.” Cute Lego. Adidas. Lots of stuff. There’s even a car dealership . Amazing . I see, it looks like this. It’s like Marinoa City. They even have a Tesla. That Tesla buggy is awesome. And there’s an APE I want to ride around the neighborhood. So cute. When I went into the store, music was playing and I couldn’t take a video. I wonder what the Chengdu version of APE would be like? Oh, like pandas on the clothes? This was just a stylish area. I can go into the temple here. I’ll take a look. Let’s go here . Come to think of it, I didn’t do any temple hopping this time. I didn’t do much research beforehand, so I’ll look up this place when I get back. I usually do research when I come to a temple, but this time I didn’t have time to look it up . The building is very beautiful. It doesn’t feel very Chinese , it’s not very big. It wasn’t very big, so I walked around it once. Okay, the end. There are other kanji characters written around the kanji character. I like this design. There are lots of ‘happiness’ written around ‘happiness’. This design is really good. I might use it as inspiration for a tattoo. It’s so cute that we came to this chaotic square . He’s drawing pictures . Everyone is selling pandas. Street LABUBU sellers. This place is amazing , huh? A stray dog? Right? Scary laceless . As expected, everyone in Chengdu is competing with pandas. I think this every time, but selling the same thing as everyone else won’t sell. Tourists might buy it, but I think it’s better for everyone to sell something different. There was a panda halfway up. From above Uniqlo. That’s famous. There are so many people. It’s so crowded even on a weekday, everyone is collaborating. It’s great to see strangers collaborating with each other . I got to collaborate with a panda. It’s not dark at all. It’s 7pm now, but it’s super bright here. I’m simmering some spicy food. Wow, the smell is amazing. What are these breakbeats? Chengdu is hotpot and pandas. There are quite a lot of people cosplaying. Isn’t that Naruto? Is Japanese anime influencing this? Is anime famous in Chengdu? Let’s leave central Chengdu here. It’s huge, there are lots of shops, and it’s fun. I didn’t take any videos, but I did a ton of things. I went into shops, and there was a grumpy old man selling character goods at a street vendor. Here’s the Q&A session. I want to go to Beijing too. Next up, I want to go to Beijing. I don’t like squat-style toilets either. In nice buildings, there are Western-style toilets, so I have to go there. Even the high-speed train toilets are all squat-style. I don’t want to have to strain myself. I don’t usually have to face my own toilet. I usually use Western-style toilets, so when I use a squat-style toilet, I can face it. It’s not nice to see my own toilet after such a long time, and I’m not used to it . We usually use Western-style toilets, so I try to use the toilet in department stores or nice hotels in the city as much as possible . Also, there’s no toilet paper in the bathrooms, so I always carry some with me . That’s nice. I’d also like to go to Beijing, but I can’t go this year, so maybe next year. I’ve heard Beijing is pretty interesting. If anyone has any information about Beijing, please let me know. I ‘ve come to the same place I found the food court from earlier . There are n’t many places to eat, so I bought some watermelon juice. What should I do? Everything looks spicy. There’s nothing that doesn’t look spicy. The yakisoba-like things around here don’t seem spicy. I’ll have dandan noodles. No-spice dandan noodles. That person said they weren’t spicy, so I hope they’re not spicy. Dry dandan noodles . My image of dandan noodles is that they’re submerged in soup . These are carbohydrates you can eat with just chopsticks. Spicy, really spicy, numbing. Spicyness is a race against time. Delicious . This probably doesn’t sound spicy to Chinese people, right? My tongue’s all messed up, but it’s delicious. If I said this was spicy, Chinese people wouldn’t approve, so I ate it with all my might. I ate it with determination. My lips are stinging. Okay, thank you for the meal. Did you enjoy it? That concludes my trip from Chongqing to Chengdu. I’ll save the Tower for tomorrow. I’ll go see the Twin Towers tomorrow night. I’ll explore the city center today and get some rest. Personally, Chengdu is amazing. What I felt was that there were a lot of cosplayers around, and I really felt the Japanese anime and otaku culture. There were a lot of people cosplaying, even though I didn’t know what they were cosplaying. On the other hand, there were groups of boys and girls cosplaying characters, some of which were obscure anime characters, that I didn’t recognize. It was fun. There were also a lot of fashionable people, and the clothing stores were very stylish . I thought Chengdu was interesting . I really like it. Chongqing was also good, but it’s a little different. I’ve only seen the city center so far, so I’d like to explore the city more tomorrow and the day after. Tomorrow, I’ll visit tourist spots, and see the night view of the Twin Towers. On the third day, I’ll go to the Panda Base. I haven’t researched how to get there yet, but I’ve already bought tickets. I’ll do my research and explore . Chengdu is amazing. Today, I went around the city center, but I didn’t film much, so only a few parts are shown in the video. I went into various shops, and everyone was kind and smiling . As in Chongqing, everyone is quite friendly. I’ll be touring Chengdu again tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, where not only young people but also older people are friendly, giving it a different feel from other cities, so please watch. Please subscribe to my channel and give it a high rating. Today I only had dandan noodles, so if I get hungry I’ll go to a nearby restaurant . I’ll post about that on my Instagram stories. So please watch the next China episode. There’s more to come. See you next time .
