Shibuya Summer Night 2025 Walking Tour & Bon Dance at Shibuya 109 [4K/HDR/Binaural]

Hello YouTube. Today I’d like to take you on a walk through Shibuya in the height of summer. Shibuya is home to the famous intersection known to English speakers as “Shibuya Crossing.” But in Japanese, we call this kind of intersection a “scramble crossing.” Unlike typical intersections, a scramble crossing allows people to walk diagonally across the street. That’s what makes it unique. Actually, there are two scramble crossings in Shibuya. Just beyond the famous one, there’s a slightly smaller scramble crossing and today, that smaller one is being closed off so people can Bon dance right in the middle of it. Alright, let’s go check it out and soak in the feeling of summer in Shibuya!

Experience the vibrant heart of Tokyo in the peak of summer as I take you on a walk through Shibuya. Shibuya is home to the world-famous “Shibuya Crossing,” known for its incredible flow of pedestrians moving in all directions. But did you know that in Japan, we call it a “scramble crossing”? Unlike a regular intersection, a scramble crossing allows diagonal crossing—something you’ll see in action here. In fact, Shibuya has not just one, but two major scramble crossings. Today, I’m visiting the smaller one at 109 shopping mall building just behind the famous crossing, where a unique summer tradition is taking place: Bon Odori. For one night only, the intersection is closed to traffic, and people gather to dance right in the middle of the street. Join me as I capture this rare and festive moment—an unforgettable way to feel the energy of summer in Tokyo.

  1. こういうの見ると、やっぱり日本人はダメだと感じる。
    もうこの国はダメだ。

  2. The fireworks displays are amazing! Japanese fireworks last for about three hours straight, and the houseboats are also great.
