เปิดตำนานหลอนกับเรื่องเล่าลี้ลับในเมืองสามน้ำ สมุทรสงคราม | VLOG
Where there is faith and belief , there are always mysterious stories hidden there. No one knows where Buddhists have gone, even the smallest province in Thailand is no exception. We will follow the legends that have been passed down through the ages, whether it’s the ogre statue that sank beneath the river for hundreds of years . We can tell our mothers about everything, whether it’s studying or wanting to take the entrance exam. The Buddha image on a mountain temple is believed to be a cannibal monk. Or the temple where a major battle took place , where it is believed that the spirits of warriors still guard the camp to this day. Or even one of the most famous floating markets has another side that is rarely talked about. And this is another side to the legend of Samut Songkhram Province. Hello everyone. This is Go Went Go, a special edition. We will go on a journey, following the legends of Samut Songkhram Province. We will visit many places that everyone may have heard of or known about, but did not know that these places have hidden legends. This is Samut Songkhram Province. Let’s go and have a look. Right now, I’m at Wat Nang Takhian. Wat Nang Takhian is actually next to the Mae Klong River and the Nang Takhian Yai River. This place is actually a normal temple. Everyone comes to make merit and pray, but in fact, there is a legend here that people tell about the giantess. Please go and listen. The first place is Wat Nang Takhian. This is an ancient temple that is more than 400 years old. In the past, it was famous for being haunted. No one dared to enter because there were 2 Takhian trees in the temple. The villagers believed that the goddess of Takhian resided there, which is the origin of the name of Wat Nang Takhian. But the most famous story here is the legend of the giantess. The giantess is the statue of a giantess holding a child located in the temple. This statue was submerged in the river for hundreds of years. According to the stories of the elders, the giantess statue was originally located on the riverbank near the stairs leading up to the river, next to the statue of Thao Wessuwan. But as time passed, the water gradually eroded the riverbank , causing the giantess statue to slowly sink into the river. At that time , only the statue of Thao Wessuwan was recovered. The statue of the giantess disappeared and has not been seen since. Until 2008, a villager dreamt of a giantess saying that she was underwater and felt extremely cold, wanting to come out of the water. After that, he hired a diver to try and go down and see. It turned out that he really did find a giantess statue. But the strange thing is that at first, no matter how much a crane was used to lift it, it couldn’t be lifted. Until a ceremony was held before it was successfully lifted. The statue that was lifted was in a condition where only the torso was holding a child , but no head. Later, a craftsman helped to mold a new head, transforming it into the giantess statue we see today. There is also an oral tradition that at night, some people walking past the temple might see the shadow of the giantess walking around. In addition, there is a belief that if anyone comes to pay respects to her and prays for good fortune or children, their wishes will usually come true. Of course, this is a personal belief. But when we arrive, we must stop and pay respects to her. Behind is the Mae Klong River. There are a lot of tiger statues that people bring as offerings here. The giantess that people come to worship is a giant holding a child. Children are very scared. I don’t dare go near it, crying. This is a tree, a very old Satue tree. It used to fall down, it fell at the pavilion by the water. Then they cut the branches, cut off whatever , and the next morning it stood up again , standing up as before. But that was a long time ago. Is this what they’ve been telling the story like? The parents, the father, Thao Wessuwan, and the grandmother, they would worship chickens, sometimes live chickens, sometimes boiled chickens, things like that. When the father disappeared, they would come to worship, worship, and then make offerings and things like that. And then later, it became something like a cement chicken or something like that. The chicken is an offering to fulfill a vow . As for the tiger, it is to resolve a bad year, resolve a bad year. This is the statue of Thao Wessuwan, the first statue in Samut Songkhram. Right here, wow, I like this advertisement the most. It says “Dance to request a blessing, dance to fulfill a vow.” This is his business. Actually, I ‘m advertising this for free because he has a Line ID to contact him. Whoever makes a vow, wants to offer a dance or something like that, now they have something like this. We can contact him and have him perform a dance to fulfill a vow. Let me tell you first that everything I’ve told you is a matter of belief and a legend that has been passed down. Therefore, everyone must use their discretion in listening and watching. But for those who feel that coming to make a wish makes them feel better, that it brings prosperity or that they get what they asked for, they can come to fulfill any vow. And this is Wat Mae Takhian in Samut Songkhram Province. Okay, this is another temple. This one is the ancient site of Wat Khao Yi San. There’s also a museum. I have to say that the legend here is of a monk who eats children. In fact, it’s a very grand tale that has been passed down for generations. There are actually many theories about where this story came from. So, let’s listen to the legend of this temple. Wat Khao Yi San is the only temple on a hill in Samut Songkhram Province. It is said that this temple was built since the Ayutthaya period. But what makes this temple more famous than its antiquity is the mysterious legend of the monk who eats people. The story goes that in the past, a child came up to play alone in the temple area. Then, he heard a loud scream. The monks at the temple heard it and ran out to see what happened. But they found that the child had disappeared, leaving only his clothes behind . When people went to look inside the ubosot, they found a red mark on the Buddha image’s lips, resembling blood. They interpreted that the monk had eaten a child. It is said that someone had previously nailed the Buddha image’s mouth shut to prevent it from eating anyone else. But if we take a closer look, we don’t see any traces of nails. From this story, many people, including ourselves, may wonder, since Buddha images are sacred objects. So how could it harm people? Some people say that it’s not actually a monk who eats people, but rather someone who practices black magic or evil. Simply put, it’s a practitioner of black magic, disguised as a monk, to deceive and take people’s lives. Some people believe in this theory, but in fact, many people believe that it’s a ploy by adults to trick children into coming up to play on this mountain alone. Because in the past, there were a lot of snakes around here and it was dangerous. Also, the monk’s mouth is red because someone put color on it. To me, the last reason seems the most likely. So what do you all think? That ‘s the whole story. We’ll go up and see. But as I said, sometimes it’s a ploy. They might not want children to go up there, to scare them or something. The second theory is interesting, because when there are people who really believe in black magic, it’s possible that they would do something that seems so dangerous. It’s a mountain, but it’s not very high. And look at the atmosphere at night. Wow, it’s quite good. This is daytime. The temple is quite mysterious. I say mysterious because it’s old and has some buildings that may look like they’re in ruins. But wow, that’s creepy. Everyone, you see this. Those lines aren’t electrical wires. They’re sacred threads. Holy threads . Everyone , wow, this is extraordinary. The one with the wooden leaning is where the monks sit and chant. It happened to collapse for about 30 years. They restore it again on April 13th every year, the merit-making ceremony over a hundred years ago. Are you the one who looks after this place? Yes, the official. Oh , in the morning they open it and in the evening they close it around 5:30 if there are no people. But now their mouths aren’t so red anymore, right? It’s because of the passage of time. They used to be redder. They used to be redder, right? Yes , it’s because the monks prey on children. Is that true? It’s not true. It’s a ploy to deceive children. Because in the past, there were a lot of snakes around here . They tricked the children by not letting them come up. It’s a ploy to deceive the children by not letting them come up. Because in the past, there were a lot of snakes. If you walk a little bit, you’ll step on them. There were a lot back then. I really like it . When I asked the official who looks after this place if the legend is true or something like that, I like it. They clearly said that it’s a ploy, not true. What monk would prey on children ? It is true. If you follow common sense, it shouldn’t happen like that. This place is called an old merit-making ceremony site. It’s made of wood. And they said that on April 13th , the first day of Songkran, they will make merit here. It’s all made of wood. Just now, he told me that in the three oceans, Samut Prakan, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, this is the only mountain in the three oceans. He also said that the temple is at the highest point of the mountain. We’ll go down to the chapel. Just now, the officer told me that this area used to be the sea. There used to be trade by junks or something. And I guess the Chinese brought Sangkhalok pottery. And then a ship sank, and all the things fell under the sea, right? But when the temple was built, they took all the Sangkhalok pottery and stuck it in front of the house, as broken pieces. Let’s go take a look. / Okay, here it is. It’s stuck on top. Oh, this is a bowl. It’s stuck right here, right here in the chapel. Oh, what we were talking about earlier. The Chinese came by junk. The art stuck in front of the chapel window is also Chinese style. He said that there are a lot of snakes here, so there are snake statues guarding the area. There is a cave inside. It’s a cave of a reclining Buddha. He said that it faces southwest. What’s strange and mysterious is He has only 9 toes. It is assumed that this is a Buddha image built since the late Ayutthaya period. It is true. There are 9 toes. One is missing. If we didn’t tell him, no one would have noticed. Wow, just one temple. We have seen 2 legends. The Buddha image that is the legend of the child-eating monk and the Buddha image with feet. It has only 9 toes. And it is also connected to another temple because it has 11 toes. Oh , interesting. This is it. My elder just said, “ Be careful what you capture in your picture. ” What did you capture ? No one knows what you captured in your picture. Okay , let ’s go. I’ve been to this temple before. This is Bang Kung Temple. Actually, how should I say this? This temple has an interesting history. This place used to be like a battlefield between Thailand and Burma. There are people who have encountered strange things. These are all stories. But what are the stories? Let’s listen. Bang Kung Temple is famous for its Bodhi-covered chapel. It is an chapel that is miraculously covered in auspicious tree roots. Inside, there is the enshrined Luang Pho Nil Mani. He is famous for his sacredness. and give a lot of luck. And of course, this is another temple that has many mysterious stories because in addition to being a temple, in the past this place was also an ancient military camp called Bang Kung Camp. Like after the fall of Ayutthaya for the second time, King Taksin once led an army to fight with the Burmese army until he won here. And after that, Bang Kung Camp was abandoned for hundreds of years. This is the reason why there are many statues of warriors in the temple. And many people believe that each statue is truly inhabited by a spirit. There is a story that in the past, some nights, people in that area would hear the sound of swords clashing all around, as if there was a war going on. This made no one dare go out after sunset. Some people also said that they saw these statues moving as if they were alive . This isn’t the entire story of this temple. Behind the ubosot ( ordination hall ) is the shrine of Mae Nang Mai Monthathip. One of the more chilling stories is that someone came to make merit at the temple in the evening and suddenly saw a woman wearing a traditional Thai dress, calling them to come and make merit. However, when they followed her to the back of the ubosot, they found that no one was there. What’s shocking is that the clothes on the statue of Mae Nang Mai in the shrine were exactly the same as the woman wearing. Of course, all of these stories are just stories passed down from generation to generation. But one thing is for sure: there was once a battle here, and countless people died. I’ll be honest, it wouldn’t be strange if people were haunted by the place, because there are forts and puppets built everywhere. Sometimes, people who come late at night, dazed, and they say they see a lot of people fighting, wouldn’t it be strange? Because there are so many puppets, everyone, let’s imagine walking around at night and seeing so many people standing here. We might not be able to tell what’s what. This place is a show called Muay Thai martial arts. There are many different moves. It’s a martial art. But for foreigners, I think this looks interesting because they get to see the different moves. The statues are written, “Yo Khao Phra Sumeru” and “Paksa Waek Rang”, which is the name of the move. It’s the name of the Muay Thai move. Pu Som Fao Sap is guarding here. Most people come to ask for luck and money from Pu Som. This company has already been here. Thai Dance 669 has advertised twice. Don’t forget to hire them. This is the whole story of Wat Bang Kung. Actually, this can be called a popular temple because it’s a famous tourist attraction in Samut Songkhram. People who come to visit come to take pictures, pay respects, and make wishes. But this is just a legend, a story. Of course, there’s no guarantee that these stories are true. These are just stories that people have passed down. But these stories and legends make the place look more interesting. Okay, everyone. The legend of Samut Songkhram is not over yet. We will take everyone to see more. Okay, now we are at Wat Bang Khae Noi. Actually, I should tell you that this place doesn’t have any scary legends. But there are interesting stories about this temple. There is also a legend that in the past, they used to build a chapel on a raft in the middle of the water. Before they renovated it, it was now on land. Let’s hear more information about what it was like. Our next stop is Wat Bang Khae Noi. Judging from the atmosphere, this temple doesn’t seem to have any creepy stories. But in fact, there are mysterious stories that people have passed down. We have to go back to the time of the temple’s old chapel. At that time, the chapel was built on a raft tied to a Bodhi tree by the river. There was a story that someone saw a monk emerge from the water. No one knows who he is or how he emerged. And at night, there were chanting sounds coming from inside the chapel, even though there were no monks there. Today, that chapel is no longer visible, as it was rebuilt several times until it became the land-based chapel we see today. It ‘s also possible that the events that occurred in the old chapel may have been due to its location on the Mae Klong River , a river full of mysterious stories. As I said , some nights, people will hear the sound of rippling water or people talking from the riverside, even though no one is there. We believe that these are the wandering spirits of people who died in water accidents, and they still linger. And it’s not just ordinary spirits. They also believe that the river is home to ghosts. Ghosts often appear as women or glowing lights floating on the water. They usually reside in canals or rivers where many people have died. This belief isn’t strange, because in ancient times, Thai people used rivers as a transportation route. The Mae Klong River was also an important route during many wars. And that’s what made this place so interesting. Some people come to visit to see the wooden church upstairs. Oh, this church is made of wood inside, but right now, monks are doing their duties. So , don’t bark, child . Come here. Don’t trust anyone. Come . Right now, the dogs are barking at me loudly , even though I haven’t done anything wrong. I don’t know what they saw. This is right here, on the banks of the Mae Klong River. This story doesn’t specify where it is. Which zone of Mae Klong? But it’s a legend that people have passed down. It’s a belief. Actually, there are many reasons. If I were to think of a strategy myself, I think that the stories about beliefs and water spirits might want people not to come near the water during the dark. What does it mean when it’s dark? If you accidentally fall in, right? You’ll drown. When there are all sorts of ghost stories or people aren’t allowed to just go into the water randomly, it’s also a matter of safety. This is just my own thought. Hey, at first I thought this was a platform , a floating platform. It’s wobbly. I have to say that the Mae Klong River is a very large river. And on both sides, most of the area around here has temples and houses along the river. There’s a way of life of the community . Oh, come closer and bark. It’s a very peaceful temple because all the Buddhists have gone somewhere. I was shocked. I heard a noise. It was the sound of a mobile phone. I was shocked. I just finished my prayers. The monk told me I could go in and take a look. The chapel is very beautiful. I saw it from the outside. The outside is covered, right? But the inside is made of wood. Wow , it’s so beautiful. Everyone, they carved the wood. They probably used many pieces and then put them together. But it’s really beautiful. Do you see? This church is so beautiful. It’s made of beautiful wood. And the last place we’re going to is the most popular tourist attraction in Mae Klong. That is the floating market. Actually, the floating market is a very popular attraction for tourists, both foreigners and Thais. But actually, there is a legend behind it. It’s a tale that people tell. Of course, we came during the day and in the evening, so there wasn’t any problem. But for people who come at night, well , let me tell you, these are just tales. There’s no guarantee that they’re true. And it didn’t say where it was or what part it was. It doesn’t mean that the whole market has it. It probably can’t be like that. Let’s go see. And the last place we came to today is Amphawa Floating Market. There were a lot of people today. Because it was a holiday, I forgot to think about it. Usually, wherever we go, there are few people because we like to come on days when there are no people. Yes , okay, this is a floating market. Normally , people come to shop, take boat trips late at night or something like that. But of course, because there are a lot of old houses around here, there are stories to tell. Like this. Who would have thought that a famous tourist attraction like Amphawa Floating Market actually has many stories. Many are mysterious . But I have to tell everyone first that these are just stories. In addition to being a tourist attraction, it is also a riverside community that has been around for a long time. The wooden houses lined up along the river are old houses that have been lived in for generations. Therefore, an old community like this must have mysterious stories. For example, the most classic story is the mysterious footsteps at night. Some people hear it as if someone is walking nearby. Some say it is a shadow of a person walking quietly, but when they look back, they see nothing. Or some legends say that a young woman in traditional Thai clothing appears briefly in the old houses along the river. And I have to tell you that it is not just the floating market area. There are many stories like this in the entire Amphawa area. So, everyone, have you ever been to Amphawa and encountered anything strange? And do you think Amphawa really has any mystical stories? Here you go, everyone. There are a lot of people today. It’s a holiday with lots of food. And of course… It’s still a fun market to visit. Here it is. Wow, it’s still as bustling as ever. There’s a bridge across. The floating market is still a floating market. It’s like what people say. There are a lot of old houses here. Sometimes, people who stay at the homestay might encounter strange things late at night. Actually, this place has a lot of stories to tell. I once came here at night to watch the fireflies . The atmosphere was quite scary. They have a lot of stories about Amphawa. But if you ask me, in terms of a tourist attraction, I think this place is very charming. It’s the same as always. And I still feel that I like it every time I come here. There’s a lot of food. I still recommend everyone to come visit. Today is a holiday , but I feel that it’s much lonelier than before. I remember that there were a lot more boats when I came. Now, there are very few left . Even though today is a holiday, there are still a lot of people, but not overflowing. There are still some foreigners. And here you see, old houses. There are a lot of old wooden houses around here. That’s all. And this is following the trail. Legends, various stories that happened in Samut Songkhram. I have to say this first: everything I’m telling you is just stories passed down from generation to generation. Many stories require your discretion when viewing. This doesn’t mean that all of them are true historical stories. There are some references, but they’re not all true. They just make each place more charming and interesting. If you like this clip, don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe to us on Skype. We’re going today. Anyone who comes to visit Samut Songkhram has a lot of good things. Don’t forget to come. Bye-bye.
