[Shikotsu Lake to Eniwa Valley: Yuu and Yasu’s Hokkaido Adventure, Final Chapter] Yuu: Good morning, everyone! ♪
Yasu: Morning! Yuu: Here we are at Lake Shikotsu! Yuu: The view is just… Yuu: Stunning, even with the fog. Yasu: It’s all mysterious, like it’s hiding in the mist. Yuu: Totally mystical! Yuu: Lake Shikotsu’s like a bride in a misty veil. Yasu: A bit shy, huh? *laughs* Yasu: So refined and elegant. Yuu: Speaking of refined, I heard this lake is super deep. Yasu: Oh, really? That deep? Yuu: Apparently, it’s deep enough to fit Tokyo Tower (333m) underwater! Yasu: It’d just disappear, huh? Yuu: Second deepest in Japan, they say. Yasu: What’s the deepest? Yuu: Lake Tazawa in Akita. Yasu: Tazawa, got it. Yuu: Oh, and it’s got the second most water in Japan too… Yasu: What’s first? Yuu: Lake Biwa in Shiga. Yasu: You know your stuff! Yuu: Just Wiki’d it earlier. *laughs* Yasu: Makes sense! Biwa’s huge, number one! Yuu: By the way, Lake Shikotsu is known for its crystal-clear blue water… Yasu: Yeah, known for that crystal clarity. Yuu: But today it’s feeling a bit shy, huh? *laughs* Yasu: Too shy, so it’s gone all cloudy? Yuu: Like it’s got a soft-focus beauty filter on! *laughs* [Shikotsu Lake Visitor Center] Yuu: Dropped a white seashell earring? (From a famous Japanese folk song ‘The Bear in the Forest’) Yasu: Met someone special one day? Yasu: That bear’s got a face like it’d pick up your earring. Yuu: Looks so kind! Yasu: A good bear! Yasu: Oh! Another bear! Yuu: This one’s definitely not picking up any earrings. Yasu: Yeah, looks like the type to hide them with that sneaky glare. Yuu: You’d ask, “Did you see an earring around here?” and it’d just dig a hole and hide it. Yasu: “Nope, maybe over there,” it’d say. *laughs* Yasu: What a shady bear! *laughs* Yuu: We made it to Lake Shikotsu! Yuu: All misty! *laughs* Yasu: The foggy Lake Shikotsu, huh? Yuu: People talk about “Foggy Lake Mashu,” but… Yasu: Shikotsu gets its fair share of fog too. Yuu: Yeah, but the fog gives it a cool vibe. Yasu: That red bridge looked pretty epic in the mist. Yuu: Kinda like a spot where a body might float up. Yasu: Like a murder mystery waiting to happen? Yuu: Time for Detective Yuu to shine? *laughs* Yasu: You up for it? Gonna put on some glasses? Yuu: Alright, next stop: Eniwa Valley! [Eniwa Valley: Hakusen Waterfall] Yuu: It’s kinda chilly today, huh? Yasu: Way colder than I expected… Yasu: Good thing we brought warm clothes for the cloud sea. Yuu: Yeah, you’d be whining like crazy without them. Yasu: Yup, I’d be all “Brr, brr!” Yasu: I mean, I’m even wearing tights right now. Yuu: Tights? Like a Cat’s Eye thief? Yasu: Yup! *hums* Turn-turn-turn! ♪ Yuu: Seriously? Yasu: What should we steal? Yuu: … Yuu: Wow! They’ve got a sign pointing out the scenic spot! Yasu: “This is the epic view!” it says. Yuu: I wanna see this from below! [Salmon Park Chitose] [Too crowded to even park, so we gave up…] [New Chitose Airport] [Drive-In Ito: Pork Bowl Specialty] [Tokachi Obihiro’s famous pork bowl, since 1973] Yuu & Yasu: Cheers! Yasu: Delicious! Yuu: This beer’s Hokkaido-exclusive, right? Yasu: Yup, it said so. Yasu: Local vibes! Yuu: Really? (Haven’t seen it in Tokyo supermarkets…) Yasu: Classic Sapporo beer, the good stuff. Yuu: Let’s dig in! ♪ Yuu: Adding the soft egg was a great call. It’s kinda rich, right? Yasu: Yeah, it looked pretty intense. Yuu: The egg makes it nice and mellow, just right. Yuu: Yasu, you’ve gotta try this! Yuu: So? What’s it like? (Yup, throwing the food review over to you) Yasu: The sauce is sweet and savory, rich but not heavy. Yasu: Not exactly light, but… Yasu: It goes down super easy. Yuu: It looks intense with that bold color, huh? *laughs* Yuu: … (This beer’s so good! ♪) Yasu: And the soft egg makes it even easier to eat.
