Here is today’s schedule Hello everyone, I am at a hotel in Kyoto I woke up in the morning and saw it was snowing outside (filmed on February 9) Today is the sixth day of the seven-day six-night free trip to Kansai and Hokuriku Recently, due to the cold wave, it has snowed in the city of Kyoto I thought the peak of the cold wave had passed, but it snowed again this morning This video is the day after the “Snowy Kyoto” episode The snow didn’t last long, it stopped around 8:10 Take a walk around the hotel in the morning Go out to take some pictures of the snow before it melts, then go back to the hotel to pack your luggage We will leave Kyoto at noon today After checking out today, there is still time to visit some nearby attractions It’s rare to see snow in the city of Kyoto, I must record it with my camera! The view from the Shijo Bridge is really beautiful We have packed our luggage and are ready to check out We will leave our luggage at the hotel and come back to pick it up before the noon bus We stayed at a hotel in Shijo, Kyoto for two nights We took bus No. 207 to Higashiyama Yasui Station We arrived at Higashiyama Yasui Station There are many attractions nearby, such as Kodaiji Temple and the Five-Storied Pagoda Let’s first go to the nearest attraction to the bus station, “Anui Konpira-gu Shrine” Anui Konpira-gu Shrine is also known as “Danen Jinja (Enkiri Jinja)” It means a shrine that can end bad relationships The shrine is not very big The most famous thing in Yasui Konpira-gu Shrine is the “Enkiri / Enmusubi Power Stone” As long as you pass through the hole in the middle of the stone, you can cut off bad fate and initiate good relationships Wait and walk up the slope in front There is still some snow on the ground We turn right here and go around the five-story pagoda and Ninenzaka area Going along this alley, you will reach Yasaka Koshindo The five-story pagoda of Hokanji Temple is also nearby Yasaka Koshindo The most distinctive feature of Shindo is the colorful puppet wall The name of this puppet is “Kukurizaru” We came to the front of the “Yasaka Tower” of Hokan-ji Temple This five-story tower rebuilt in the 15th century is a symbolic landmark of the Higashiyama area The history of Hokanji Temple can be traced back to the 7th century before the capital was moved to Heian-kyo The road next to Hokanji Temple is Sannenzaka We walked up Sannenzaka We will reach a spot suitable for taking photos Looking back Look, you can see the five-story pagoda and the street The scenery of this alley is very beautiful, it is a picture that can represent “Kyoto” In front is the intersection of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka There are all kinds of shops on this street Many worth stopping to see Art Store This stone-paved path is called “Nene’s Road” This road is named after Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s wife “Nene” Ningning lived in this area in her later years and was buried in Kodaiji Temple after her death This street also has a very Kyoto flavor! There is a path leading to the bamboo forest path of Kodaiji Temple Now I want to have a dessert Ordered a 650 yen set meal (matcha + warabimochi) I think they are all delicious. If you pass by and want to eat dessert, you can consider coming here We have to go back and take the bus The return trip is to take bus No. 80 from “Higashiyama Yasui” to “Shijo Kawaramachi” Bus No. 80 is less crowded than bus No. 207 Passed by Kamo River After picking up the luggage Then I have to go forward To Nara We passed the Kamogawa River on our way to Gion Shijo Station We are now going to Keihan Railway’s Gion Shijo Station to catch the train We have booked the Kintetsu sightseeing train Aoniyoshi So we will take the Keihan Railway to Tambabashi and transfer to the Kintetsu Line Then we took the sightseeing train from “Tambabashi” to Nara This trail connects Keihan and Kintetsu’s Tambabashi Station, making transfers very convenient We arrived at the platform early The sightseeing train we took departed at 13:06 This is my first time taking Kintetsu and it’s a sightseeing train, I’m looking forward to it! Most people will board the train at Kyoto Station, but we took a special route. The sightseeing train “Aoniyoshi” we are taking has arrived at the station. Our seats are in car 1. There is a large luggage storage area in the car. This train goes from Kyoto to Kintetsu Nara Station. This train is Kintetsu’s non- The popular sightseeing train was almost full This is the timetable for this train We arrived at Kintetsu Nara Station at about 1:30 pm We booked this sightseeing train online in advance, and the cost was 730 ¥ per person With the 680 ¥ ticket, the total fare was 1410 ¥ It’s a good deal to experience the sightseeing train for about NT$300 (៸៸>ᴗ<៸៸ ) In-train broadcast: "This train will pass through the ruins of Heijo Palace" In-train broadcast: "You can see the Suzaku Gate on the right; you can see the Taichi Gate on the left" The area the train is passing through now is the ruins of the "Heijo Palace" palace from the Nara period Nara was the capital of Japan before Emperor Kanmu moved the capital to Kyoto (before the 8th century AD) We have arrived in Nara! Before leaving, let’s appreciate the interior design of the car again The whole journey was a very relaxing experience, and the seats were very comfortable If you want to take a ride, it is strongly recommended to make an early reservation It’s a pity that I didn’t go to the bar in the second car because of the short time this time We will store our luggage in the lockers at the station first, and then we can start sightseeing in Nara! We arrived outside Kintetsu Nara Station There is a statue of "Gyoki Monk (668-749)" in front of the station There are signs for tourist attractions along the way from the station, so you don't really need to look at a map It takes less than ten minutes to walk from the station to Nara Park After entering Nara Park, you can see many deer There are about 1,200 deer living in Nara Park The deer with antlers on their heads are male deer We passed an underpass We will reach Todaiji Temple in 1 kilometer It is a good place for a walk. There are deer everywhere on the roadside. You won't get bored We walked to the side of Nara National Museum These two are female deer: ) There is a main entrance to Todaiji Temple, lined with shops and vendors This deer was very kind to let me take a photo Just now, many deer turned around and left when they saw that I didn’t have any senbei Nara Park is a place where people and deer coexist. It’s quite fresh when I come here for the first time! Actually, this is my second time in Nara But I was only 1 year old when I first came here, so I have no memory of it😅 In front of me is the main gate of Todaiji Temple, "Great South Gate" The current Nandaimon was built in the Kamakura period (12th century) and is designated as a national treasure Inside Nandaimon are two wooden "Vajra Rikishi statues" The wooden statue is 8.4 meters high and very spectacular We are going to visit the most representative building of Todaiji Temple, the Great Buddha Hall There is a lake near the entrance, called the "Mirror Pond" The Great Buddha Hall is behind this building To get to the entrance of the Great Buddha Hall, go to the left The entrance is here in front The area of Todaiji Temple is very large. We mainly went to the Great Buddha Hall this time. Walking into the entrance, the Great Buddha Hall looks so magnificent from a distance! The Great Buddha Hall of Todaiji Temple is 49 meters high and is one of the largest wooden buildings in the world. Although the current Great Buddha Hall was rebuilt in the Edo period but the height of the building is almost the same as when it was completed in the Nara period It is hard to imagine how people more than a thousand years ago built such a magnificent We will go inside the Great Buddha Hall to visit There is a tall Buddha statue inside, known as the "Nara Buddha" As soon as you enter the Great Buddha Hall, you will see a Buddha statue that is nearly 15 meters high The official name of this Buddha statue is "Seated Vairocana Buddha" The Buddha statue was first completed in 749 and has been damaged and restored many times since then Now the body of the Buddha Part of it is from the original construction in the Nara period There are also some scaled-down models of Todaiji Temple on display There is a hole under one of the pillars of the Great Buddha Hall It is said that this hole is as big as the nostril of the Great Buddha
If you pass through it, you can get rid of disasters and diseases and make your wishes come true The tour route is to go around inside There is a place to buy amulets near the exit After visiting the Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple The temple is really wonderful and worth visiting!! In fact, there are many national treasures in Todaiji Temple that are worth exploring (such as Nigatsudo) But this time, due to time constraints, we only went to the Great Buddha Hall Our next stop is "Kasuga Taisha Shrine" The call of the deer is quite special The information I found said that this is the call for food But sorry, I don't have any senbei! I should buy some senbei to feed the deer next time Walking to the approach to Kasuga Taisha Shrine You can still see many deer on the way to Kasuga Taisha Shrine The "Second Torii" of Kasuga Taisha Shrine is in front The First Torii is farther away Kasuga Taisha is very large, including 15 smaller shrines The 15 shrines outside the main hall are collectively called "Wakamiya Fifteen Shrines" In Kasuga Taisha, deer are regarded as messengers of God Kasuga Taisha was established in 710 AD (Nara period) Most of the buildings in the shrine were rebuilt in the Edo period Kasuga Taisha is listed as a World Heritage Site as a "cultural asset of ancient Nara" In front is the main shrine (Omiya) of Kasuga Taisha We bought tickets to visit the corridors of the main shrine The entrance ticket is 700 yen If you just want to worship, you don't need to buy a ticket We will mainly visit a corridor inside There are a lot of lanterns lined up in the east corridor If you look closely, you will find deer carvings on the lanterns The vermilion building next to it is the "treasure house" of Kasuga Taisha Shrine The mirrors, swords, bows and arrows inside will be taken out during the Spring Festival in March Come out and use it Fujiranami House has created a space similar to the "Ten Thousand Lanterns" at night It's not very big inside, you can walk around it in a few steps The exit is in front The building in front is the "National Treasure Hall" of Kasuga Taisha Shrine We will take the bus back to the nearby bus station Nara Railway Station It only takes about 10 minutes to take the bus from Kasuga Taisha back to Kintetsu Nara Station On the way back, you pass near Todaiji Temple Nara is really a place worth visiting Not only does it have a thousand years of history, it also has a rich natural ecology If you stay in Kyoto or Osaka, come here It is also convenient for day trips Before leaving Nara, let's go to the "Higashimuku Shopping Street" next to the station We passed by a "Yamatocha Daifuku Specialty Store" that sells daifuku We bought some to eat at the hotel in Osaka The delicious matcha daifuku, the sweetness of the filling is moderate The other one is Japanese confectionery store "Manshodo" Bought a strawberry dorayaki to eat in the store Also bought a Japanese confectionery called "Tsubaki" We took the 17:05 "Rapid Express" to Osaka Namba Arrived at (Kintetsu) Osaka Namba Station at about 17:43 Arrived in Osaka! This time in Osaka, I will mainly go shopping and visit some attractions I haven't been to before I will check in at the hotel first This time I will stay at the Osaka Monterey Hotel next to JR Namba Station I will pass through a long underground street "Namba WALK" The trip to Osaka will be presented in the next video, so stay tuned! Thank you for watching to the end, see you in the next video!
