[Car Camping]Stealth Camper Van Trip Through Historic Streets and Trams | Nagasaki, Japan

Subtitles will appear here. It’s 7:14 AM on the seventh day. The room temperature is 19°C, so it was quite comfortable. I turned off the air conditioner and didn’t turn on the front-wheel drive heater. So, I think it was a comfortable night and I slept well. Today I want to go to Nagasaki, the “westernmost point of mainland Japan,” so I’ll wake up Mama and U-chan, get ready , and drive hard for about an hour or two from here! I’ll get up and get ready for the trip ! Mama) Shall we change the water first? Papa) That’s right! It’s morning! U-chan! Good morning, you can’t see my face, right? U-chan? I checked the weather in Nagasaki today and it was sunny! It’s been sunny all day, this trip, and I’m a regular sleepyhead today. I just checked the tire pressure and it’s slightly off by about 0.7, so I’ll add more. When I measure the tire pressure, I usually use two types and look for a value somewhere in between. It has an L-shaped hinge, but I don’t leave it inserted all the time. I only leave it in when I’m measuring. This is the tool I was checking for air right now. I check two air gauges. The double tires use L-shaped ones. It’s locked, but if you measure it like this it will show up. It may be just me, but once measured and removed it will drop a little… Another thing may have an error depending on the item . For these two, I occasionally go to the stand to measure the gauge. Thank you for checking out the stone storehouse ! So let’s go! I’ve checked out “RV Park Ishinokura” now, not smelling like yakiniku . I’m grateful for the complete reset! If you’re traveling around Kyushu, I recommend booking Ishi no Kura on a mid-day trip , since there aren’t many places where you can do everything. I just happened to meet another viewer! The person sitting next to me was a viewer . The interesting thing about campervan drivers is that they almost always talk about campervans, but they tell me things like, “Where did this?” and “This was like!” It’s a fun, lively, travel-related story. Especially this time, I didn’t say I was going to Kyushu on Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube, so I was really lucky that they noticed! I’m so happy! Today, I’ll be riding about 100km from here! I’m leaving Saga Prefecture! My third prefecture in Kyushu, Nagasaki. First, I’m heading to…the very edge! There’s a place known as the “westernmost point of mainland Japan,” and if you take photos here and show them at a nearby roadside station, you can get a “Certificate of Completing the Four Pole Tour of Mainland Japan,” so I think I’ll go get my first “West” certificate! It looks like we’ve just entered Nagasaki Prefecture. We’ve finally entered Nagasaki Prefecture! We’ve entered the third prefecture in Kyushu! And as soon as we entered, there was a traffic jam. I wonder what that traffic jam was… Anyway, we’ve entered Nagasaki Prefecture, and with 45km left, we’re about halfway there. Is that a warship? Is it the Japan Coast Guard?! Did it say Japan Coast Guard? I’ve never seen so many lined up before. Is that a river next to it? Is it a lake? Is that the ocean?! It ‘s right between the landmasses … it says the road will probably narrow a bit ! We’re at the westernmost point of mainland Japan! From here, it’s 1.8km of bumpy road… a fish market?! This is where you can get your certificate for the westernmost point of mainland Japan! If you go here after visiting the westernmost point of mainland Japan, at the fish market, you’ll get the certificate! Sometimes the navigation system confuses me , but we haven’t turned off yet. The navigation system is correct! Don’t worry! We’re almost there, but the parking lot is full… Mama will get off and take a look! Parking was completed safely and I arrived now and brushed my teeth! Once the preparations are complete, you’ll head to the westernmost tip of Japan’s mainland, where you can prepare anywhere, and the sea is beautiful! ! Dad? Walking behind might be dangerous, right? The weather is nice and the view is amazing! A commemorative photo at the westernmost point , mom, take a look! Heart hole♪ The sea is crystal clear and incredibly beautiful! The sea is very clear , so let’s go back to the car, and now we’ve gone to the westernmost point of Japan’s mainland. The ocean was incredibly beautiful! It was transparent! There aren’t many parking spaces in the area, but I managed to park in line. When I show you the photos you took, you will receive a certificate at the westernmost point, which seems to be the “Fish Square” that I passed by earlier, so I head back to that point! Get the Quadrupole Certificate of Arrival at Fish Square ? What is Hilas? ? This is Hanamasa! Sashimi is also cheap! Apparently there’s one on the ocean side where octopus goes directly in, and there’s a lot of seafood inside, which is scary!! U-chan was scared, so we bought a bunch of spiny lobster clams and sashimi . We went to the westernmost point of mainland Japan. It’s a seafood direct sales place nearby called “O-Sakana Hiroba,” and they had a proper certificate, right?! I got it. From here, we wanted to go to Glover Garden, so we headed in that direction. It seems it’s about 100km from where we are now, and it would require another two hours of driving , so we might have to change our plans on a case-by-case basis… And there’s this gunkan (warship) there. It’s amazing to see the gunkan again ! I’m on my way to Glover Garden now, and apparently if I turn right here, I’ll reach Huis Ten Bosch! The traffic light right here says “Huis Ten Bosch Entrance.” It’s surprisingly quiet? Surprisingly large. Since it’s the middle of Golden Week, we figured Huis Ten Bosch would be incredibly crowded, so we skipped it. We’ve passed Huis Ten Bosch and are now at the sea! Nagasaki is all along the coast, and it’s a train!! Why does a train run here? It’s called a tram. It runs on the road with the cars , not on the tracks, but next to the cars. I’m impressed by this new sight. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever seen a tram. It’s the first time I’ve actually seen one! I looked into parking lots that are suitable for camper vans, but… I suspect the lot is full… The only parking lot we can use is the Prefectural Tokiwa Parking Lot South! No matter how hard we try, this is the only place we can park. Large vehicles can be parked, and anything over 2.5m tall is considered large! Is ours a large vehicle? The fee will increase, but we’re just glad we were able to park! We’ve arrived safely, so let’s go! It looks like we’re coming! There’s a bridge. U-chan, let’s cross the bridge! U-chan crosses the bridge . The train runs here. A working streetcar . Oh, isn’t this the place? Dutch Slope! We arrive at Dutch Slope . There’s a place somewhere where you can see a shrine, temple, and church all at once, right? That’s right. It’s on the right. The road splits into two there. Stray cats walking . Suddenly, it appears in the middle of town . Wow, is this an escalator? “Diagonal Elevator.” This is U-chan’s first diagonal elevator. Papa’s first too. Mommy’s first too. This monitor shows what’s inside the elevator. Can you see outside from inside this elevator? An elevator going up diagonally. Wow!! The view is amazing!! U-chan, maybe you can ride the streetcar? You never get a chance to ride it! Apparently it goes up again. That’s just a regular elevator. A nice view. Isn’t this the place? Ah, here it is! We’ve arrived. What’s this? ? We’ve arrived at Glover Garden and can finally enter the entrance hall. Jiyutei. Western cuisine. An early Japanese asphalt turtle pops up at the Alt residence. (Everyone’s houses) are so spacious! From here (Glover Garden), where the photo shoot begins , some people go to regular houses. This Glover Garden is located in a residential area. The houses are so big! Taking a break from the food truck at Glover Garden. U-chan, try it. It’s delicious! So good you can’t stop eating it. We went to the Glover Residence and the Nagasaki Traditional Performing Arts Center, where the Nagasaki Kunchi festival is held. The actual festival footage is so interesting, it varies from town to town! Isn’t this a whale from Holland ? This one is this. With a wide variety of performances , the people around here serve this. If you don’t try Nagasaki castella, you ‘ll be tempted by the low prices. There are so many shops selling it. What!? Bunmeido Main Store? Surprisingly , Bunmeido. I bought souvenirs at Bunmeido Main Store. My parents’ house, just for the family. Ours is the 300 yen one from earlier. The Triangle of Prayer Zone. This is a famous spot…I wonder? You can see three shrines, churches, and temples. Oura Cathedral is in the middle, Myokoji Temple on the right, and Oura Suwa Shrine on the left . Glover Garden is located among the residential areas. There were regular people’s houses in Glover Garden, right? I’m curious, why…it’s a pentagram. The curious manholes …they’re all like that!? A new discovery learned on a mysterious trip ! Trains! I’m about to ride the streetcar . I’m excited to ride my first streetcar, nervous about my first ride. It uses Suica. It’s like a bus turned into a train. It feels strange …the station is on the road. The road and the train are close together . Interesting! But it was my first time, so I had no idea what was going on. By the way, this is what the station looks like! It’s sandwiched between cars. I don’t think you’ll have an experience like this very often. A valuable experience. Parking lot ↓ I’m totally directionally challenged . I just went sightseeing near Glover Garden! I’m about to head to the bath. 気になる駐車料金は… 2,400円! なかなかイイお値段だね 今駐車場を出ました。 金額は2,400円 ざっくり2時間40分かな? So it’s a scary, large fee, and it’s a bit… I can only think that this is the fate of a cab-con, which is the fate of a cab-con , which is a good location. We went to Glover Garden, but it seems to be on the other side of the room is Shinchi Chinatown, which also looked interesting! 今日は長崎を縦断してる 今から島原の方まで行って、島原で1泊して朝から島原を観光する予定です。 Von , the views on both sides are spectacular , and I’ve just put fuel in Von, but since this trip started, the fuel economy was pretty good… the mileage was 450km and the fuel was 45L in it, so it’s finally 10km/l! I’ve driven on the highway, and now I’m driving on the local roads, but I still managed to achieve this. I was using the car’s air conditioning, and even so, I achieved 10km/L . Naturally, it’s still not as fuel-efficient as a regular car these days, but considering the size of the camper van, I think it’s pretty impressive. The scenery has changed from blue to green again! It’s still this bright even at 7pm, so the days have gotten quite long. We’re running parallel to the train, and soon we’ll arrive at the hot spring. What a beautiful view. We can see the sunset just in time. Wow, what a spectacular view. Arriving at the hot spring, milk time! I’ve been really curious about this “Drugstore Mori” ! I’ve seen so many “Drugstore Mori” stores since coming to Kyushu! I also see a lot of “Cosmos” since entering Kyushu!! I guess it’s because of the local culture. Is this Shimabara after all? This is Shimabara Station! Hey, there are a lot of the same signs. The station looks like a castle! We’ve arrived safely at castle-like Shimabara Station , so it’s almost time for dinner!! I’m going to cook this today, and I’ll heat it up in the microwave. Since I’m not at an RV park today, I’ll use a portable power source. I ‘ll plug it into the internal outlet and run the microwave with a power inverter . I’m planning to avoid washing up as much as possible today… again. Nitori Messtin. This kind of use is really convenient, is n’t it? I think I’ll also make clams in the Messtin today. I found some squid shumai at 7-Eleven and will heat them up in the microwave. I microwaved the frozen lotus root hasami-yaki for 5 minutes. The portable power source is doing its job. I bought this pack of noodle soup (noodle soup) bottles because they take up too much space. Maybe because I’m cooking, the room temperature is up at 27°C, and after taking a bath, I don’t want to sweat… but it’s hot, so I’ll turn on the air conditioner. Since I’m here, I thought I’d use the portable power source. I set the air conditioner to 24°C and turned it on. That should do it! (It worked.) The air conditioner just started working. It’s facing up, so it’s working. Should I turn it down? If I put it facing downwards, it hits me directly and it’s cold , so this is good; the edge of the second seat gets the best breeze. I checked my portable power source to see how much power it uses when the air conditioner is on, and it’s consuming 211W . 211W seems strange. I also have the external charger running, so that alone should use 200W . The car’s sub-battery is also charging (with the charger running). It’s only charging about 1A, so it doesn’t seem to be running much. I bought this “round bag of tofu.” Look, isn’t it interesting? So you slice it and make it into round shapes? It looks like cheese!! But it’s tofu, right? First, I added some green onions… and then I bought some “Extra Spicy Savory Chili Oil”! This looks delicious! It turned out great! I just lowered the temperature a little to 22°C. Is it really that hot? Yes, it is hot. I could use it to steam clams . I really should have a wire rack, but I don’t have one right now, so I’ll do it with this . I could get out the toaster, but the shells would bounce around, so I’ll try using a mess tin. Air conditioners are amazing, after all… It’s getting a little chilly, so I set the temperature to 22°C, and the air conditioner started running, consuming about 470W of power from the portable power supply. The external charger for the sub-battery is also running, so I guess about half of the capacity is the charger? Considering that, maybe just over 200W? Surprisingly, I don’t use that much. The load won’t be known until the outside temperature reaches midsummer. A vibrating portable power source would be fine. U-chan, are you cold? It’s a little cold, isn’t it? I just turned off the air conditioner. Thank you for your hard work, air conditioner! This is flounder I bought at the supermarket. This is from “Osakana Hiroba” near the westernmost point of mainland Japan. You said red sea bream and whitebait, but they’re the same as Hiramasa. This is from “Osakana Hiroba” and it’s only 560 yen, so it’s cheap! Today’s main dish is sashimi!! I bought Kyushu Sashimi Soy Sauce, Sweet! All that’s left is for the clams to pop open and it’s done. Today’s meal is… clams, yellowtail, red sea bream, flounder sashimi, frozen fried lotus root, mushrooms with butter noodle soup?, squid shumai, round tofu . I bought a local sake from the supermarket called “Reimei,” a pure rice ginjo sake produced in the area. Itadakimasu , itadakimasu. Enjoy your meal. Cheers! The sake fits in this holder! Ah, this is delicious. This one’s drinkable. Eat clams and drink sake! The perfect combination. U-chan is amazing, did you eat all the food? You eat a lot. U-chan also knows a lot about delicious food. Travelers eat more. Let’s have strawberries after dinner! These kinds of times are so happy. Today’s meal was amazing, and now it’s dessert… Ah!! Mama, what are we doing with that? Nagasaki castella… We don’t need it now . Eh, isn’t that today’s dessert? Hmm , I was looking forward to it… Mama, what’s dessert? Mama, what’s today’s dessert? U-chan is so sensitive to desserts. She was sleeping in the bed just a moment ago, but as soon as I said dessert, she jumped out. When she was Kabi-chan, her head was stuck to the ceiling, but then she became Von-chan, and now it’s not stuck anymore. Will it be a hit when U-chan is around elementary school age? I wonder what grade U-chan will be in elementary school? Then I’ll ask Mama to buy me a new camper! Papa is retired , one NEET is enough (Mama is a NEET) Two people want to turn on the air conditioner U-chan, the cool breeze is already here! It’s cool, but cold, isn’t it too early ? Only Papa is cool , lay your seat flat after eating Von-chan is amazing! The air conditioner’s breeze is amazing, a cooling mat from Daiso, would you like to feel the breeze too, Daddy? Ah, it’s cool! It’s a bit cold in here, isn’t it? Let’s share it with everyone in the video ♪ What’s up, U-chan? I’m going to sleep!! I couldn’t find the garden eel… I’m a bit lonely without the garden eel… You seem happy to have found your partner , good night

We traveled to the westernmost point of mainland Japan and picked up some fresh fish for a delicious dinner in our camper van.
Next, we headed to Nagasaki city, where charming streetcars run through historic buildings and scenic streets.
There’s still so much beautiful Japan we haven’t discovered yet.
