중국, 러시아, 북한이 뒤섞인 기괴한 국경마을 훈춘 [연변4]
I’ve been to the border a few times, but this is my first time in a place like this .. Hello, I’m Traveling May. Hello. Today, I’m finally checking out and leaving. I’m going to leave Tumen City and go to a place called Hunchun. Hunchun is even more unique because it’s a place where North Korea, China, and Russia all meet. So, it’s a very unique border town where you can feel all three countries , so let’s leave for there . Goodbye. Bye . Hello. I’m going to the train station. High-speed rail station? Yes , high-speed rail station. It costs 20 yuan to get to the high-speed rail station (about 4,000 won). 20 yuan? Right. (It seems like there’s no meter.) Why? I told you there’s no meter right now . Why.. huh..? You’re going to take it, right? It’s 20 yuan to the high-speed rail station. Okay . I’m afraid I’ll miss it if I try to make a deal or something. Hunchun is a border town where three countries meet, so you can really feel the European atmosphere, see North Korea, and feel the Joseonjok atmosphere. It’s a really strange town, so I’m going to go check it out. But there’s really no information about this place from Koreans. There really is. I arrived at Tumenbuk Station. There was no one there. Is it running at the moment? Isn’t this the place? Did I come to the wrong place. I thought about it a lot . When I looked it up, most of the Dongmun people stayed in Yanji and went back and forth for a day trip. It didn’t seem like there were many people who stayed in Tumen for 2 nights and 3 days like me. Whether it’s Chinese or Korean, the train station was completely empty. There were only 10 minutes left, but I had to go in. (The door wouldn’t open) (Station staff coming in just before the train arrived) Since there weren’t many people here anyway, they only opened the door when I got on . I was the first to enter . I set off for an unfamiliar city again. As always, I’m half excited, half worried . It happened quickly. I ‘ve arrived in Hunchun now. (My suitcase is heavy.) Wow, this is really the countryside. Look at this. It’s a total rural landscape. First, I’ll take a bus and go to the downtown area where my accommodation is. By the way, the bus (payment) is all done by scanning this. (Getting off) Wow, I arrived . I got off. Wow , it’s already different. This is where North Korea, Russia, and China meet . So the cultures are all mixed, and the language is Korean and, to be exact, Joseon, which is used by the Joseonjok in Yanji. Anyway, if Korean and Chinese were mixed, here, Korean, It’s a place where Chinese and Russian are all mixed together. (Chinese) (Korean) (Russian) Wow, I’ll quickly go to the accommodation, leave my luggage, and come out. I want to see things quickly . Where should I go if this place is blocked? (Is this the right way..) I’m not sure if I can go there. This time, I made a reservation at a place that’s operated like a B&B on Trip.com, so there’s no sign and I need to know how to self-check in, but I can’t contact them and I haven’t received any messages or emails yet. I think it’s because there’s still an hour left, so I’ll wait while eating for now . I’ll ask again while I eat. I should go here for food. It’s right in front, but I can go anywhere. Is it dosakmyun ? Is this very spicy? It’s normal. If you want, I can make it a little spicy . Oh, can I make it a little spicy? Yes, a little bit . Yes, then it’ll be a little spicy. The result of ‘a little spicy’ is this red? Is it okay..? It’s bloody… (slurp) Hmm, it seemed okay, but the spiciness is gradually increasing… Oh, it’s spicy . (sting) In Korea, when we eat hot pot, we eat all the broth, but in China, hot pot isn’t made for eating the broth. I don’t think this was made for eating the broth either. The noodles are spicy right now and I think I’ll die if I eat the broth. But I’ll sweep it all up. (I got in touch with the owner of the accommodation.) I’ll wait. Thank you. The owner of the accommodation said he was coming down right now. I think I just have to wait . Hello, oh, hello. (A normal home.) It’s so nice. Thank you. Do you have WeChat? Yes, there is. Then I’ll send you the room password. Okay, okay. First of all, the bathroom is spacious and clean, and there’s everything you need. There’s also a kitchen . Of course, there’s nothing you can eat there, but (BGM that makes you feel old) Oh, really, the bed is spacious and clean, and there ‘s a refrigerator. What the heck, this place only costs 17,000 won per night. It’s really great value for money. I’m going to stay here for 2 nights and 3 days. And since it’s not a hotel but a B&B, I think it’ll feel more like I’m living here . Wow , there’s a construction site view right in front of here, but anyway, this view overlooking the city of Hunchun . But why are there dark clouds? Huh ? The weather was nice. What’s wrong? Now it’s pouring rain . I checked in and was excited and was about to go outside, but it’s raining . It’s raining and thundering . No. No, when I was in Domun, it was cloudy and rainy the whole time, but the day I left Domun, the weather suddenly became sunny, and when I came here, it’s raining here. I’m a weather monster after all. This won’t do. Just wait for now. Rather good rest~ Huh? The sun is out . Let’s go right now . We don’t know when it’ll come back, so let ‘s go. Let’s go. This side is called the Hunchun Border Economic Cooperation Zone. Just looking at it, doesn’t the architectural style have changed? This side is this place. In a way, it’s like a strategic point of Eurasia? And you can feel Russia, and next to it is a place called European Street. Let’s go there first. This is European Street. No, but first of all, the buildings themselves are different. It’s so different from what I’ve seen in Yanji and Tumen so far. Let’s go in here and there. Our Mart is here, and there’s ice cream. At this time of year..? First of all, this is where all the Korean products are gathered, and right in front it says “Russian Mart.” You can tell from the entrance, right? You know this, right? I guess all the products here are Russian. Hello, hello . Wow, lots of Matryoshka dolls. Kids I used to see a lot in Russia. Oh, these are kids I really saw in Russia . Should I buy a chocolate ? Angel. Is this chocolate too? Yes, that’s right. Is it delicious? (A question without meaning in the world) Is this a video camera? Yes, that’s right. The video camera looks cute when it’s this small. I bought a cute Russian chocolate. Now, the signs just say Russian. Look at this here. And there aren’t as many open as I thought. This place seems to get hot at night. Looking at the KTV and this, what the heck is that? Gaeseongmin? Gaeseongman..? In the midst of this, it also has a Chinese feel. This is the scenery of the neighborhood where China, Russia , and even North Korea meet. Oh, it’s really strange . I really walked and walked every nook and cranny of the neighborhood . And suddenly it’s raining again? I really got hit by a weather monster . (Meanwhile, the Chinese are obsessed with outdoor karaoke.) It’s suddenly raining heavily again. I have to take refuge in the building up ahead. What is this place? International. I don’t know what time it is. Let’s go in here and look around to avoid the rain. First, there used to be Korean underneath the Chinese, but now it’s Russian. It’s kind of sad. It seems to be a roller rink. There’s a roller rink. Wow, there’s no one there? But why is there an arcade here ? What is this ? There’s really no one here? The arcade is empty right now. Empty. The Hunchun I’ve been to so far doesn’t feel like it’s bustling because the Three Kingdoms met, but rather than the Three Kingdoms meeting and all of the Three Kingdoms being crowded and mixed together , it feels like all of the Three Kingdoms were a bit… abandoned..? Is it because I’m imagining it? There’s also a VR theater? Can I ask you something? How much is this? 35 yuan (about 7,000 won) 35 yuan per ride? Then I’ll take that. The roller coaster is starting. It spins 360 degrees. Hey, wait a minute . You didn’t tell me it was like this… (worn out) Oh, thank you. Oh , my head hurts. Oh my god. According to the map, if you go a bit further south, there’s some kind of amusement park. It looks pretty big, so uh… I’m going to go check it out . What’s the name of this place in the first place ? This is Wasstuak-euhwanreodao, and it’s mixed with Russian. The name itself gives off a strange amusement park vibe where Russia, China, and North Korea are all mixed together, so I’m going to go check it out. Hello , hello. Where are you going? Wasstuak-euhwanreodao (it’s long…) I don’t even know if it’s open . There’s no one there right now? What on earth is going on , a Russian-style amusement park in the middle of China ? Oh, I met Russian people for the first time. There’s Korean over there, Chinese next to it, and Russian is written all over it. It’s literally Korean , or to be exact, Joseonjok, but anyway, it’s an amusement park where Korea, China, and Russia are completely mixed together . It’s confusing. Look at this. It’s suddenly become Russia . Huh..? When I looked for Godeokji this way, it said it was open until 7, but it closes at 5. I’ll come back tomorrow . The sun is starting to set. There’s the European Street I went to earlier. Let’s go see what it looks like at night. There are all these Russians near me right now. I guess they’re all out now because it’s dark . Or maybe they just got off work. Anyway , I should probably go home from the European Street or whatever, but it’s raining too hard . I looked around the area right now, and the restaurant over there where I should run to is a Russian restaurant. So I don’t know what they sell, but I should go there . Wait a minute . There’s a flood up ahead? Where should I cross? I can’t go anywhere. I’m going crazy . The road is flooding. Please, here. (Water bomb) I was wandering around for no reason and I got splashed. Oh, I’m going crazy. No, let’s go around like this . (Running in the rain) It feels even more romantic because of the rain, doesn’t it? But it’s too cold right now to feel romantic and alone . (Let’s go into a restaurant) One person, one person? Is that possible? We are a western restaurant for foreigners. Let me see if you can get used to the food. Uh.. We are not authentic western food. We don’t have anything like steak or pasta . First, can I see the menu? Yeah, look. Oh, it’s cold , cold, I’m freezing. Surprisingly, it’s June.. This place has a bit of a Russian-Chinese fusion feel. I ‘ll have a small one. Okay. And please give me a bowl of rice. Is it white rice? Yes, white rice . Okay , thank you . What? Is it okay to take a picture of this alone? Yeah, Koreans don’t mind. Oh, really? And Chinese people do? At first, I thought I was Chinese and told them not to take pictures like this. But Koreans said it was okay. (Yanbian regulations that I know but don’t know) What kind of car is this? Jasmine tea Ah jasmine~ Jasmine tea So this place is rather a restaurant for Russians, so the Chinese people don’t seem to welcome them very much and foreigners say welcome. Koreans are welcome . I ordered hot dumpling soup. You might think it’s just Chinese food, but there are a lot of dumpling dishes in Russia too. A dish that tastes a bit like dumplings? Thank you. Jisamseon Jisamseon. I like it so much that I often order it in Korea too . Is this Jisamseon that changed to fusion? The presentation is a bit different from what I usually eat. While I was eating, everyone except me was Russian. It was delicious. It was 33 yuan (about 6,300 won). It was so delicious. Has the rain let up a bit ? Oh, but it’s not raining as much as before. Wow, I feel like this is a European street. I wondered what this was, and it was skewers. I’ll give you (skewers). I ‘ll give it to you as a gift. I’m so full right now. I just ate. Then come later. Thanks . If it were easier, I would’ve accepted it and said, “Thank you, thank you.” But I ‘m really so full. Mom, aaah (foot in mouth). My foot completely fell off. Oh, this is so cute . These are some kind of pictures that symbolize Russia. But they’re so pretty. But you guys, stop waging war, okay? [Lee’s Frog Oil] What is it… What are you doing..? I’m going back to my accommodation now. It’s a 10-minute walk to my accommodation. The location is so good . I’m back at my accommodation now. I’m going to wash up quickly and pass out. I’m going to pass out quickly so I can wake up early tomorrow. I have a very, very important place to go to. I’ll tell you tomorrow . Wow , the weather is nice . Day 2 in Hunchun. Oh, fortunately, the weather is really nice today. I’m going to jump out right now. Oh, my shoes are wet. They got completely wet yesterday . Oh… I can’t help it . The reason I’m going out so early in the morning like this is because I’m going to a place called Bangcheon Tourist Area, Bangcheon Scenic Area today. That’s the heart of Hunchun . It’s a place where three countries are right next to each other. You can see North Korea, Russia, and China all at once. We’re going to the border town of Hunchun, which is the closest border area. It takes about an hour to get there from here. It’s a really remote place by car, so you can take a taxi, but if you want to go a little cheaper , you can also take a shuttle bus. But there’s no information about this at all from Koreans, so it’s hard to find. I don’t know, but I came to the place shown on the map, but it said that a shuttle bus would come here, but it didn’t look like a bus stop at all. The current time is 8:30, but that’s not certain, and when I checked, there were a lot of times that were wrong. So then suddenly someone spoke to me. Where are you going? Me? Hey, me, Bangcheon . Are you going to Bangcheon ? Right ? How many people are there ? I’m alone , but I’m going to take the bus . Huh? I’m going to take the bus (turns out he’s a taxi tour solicitor) . Huh? Is n’t this expensive ? How much is it? If you go with me, I’ll give you 100 yuan (about 20,000 won). 100 yuan? But I heard that a bus comes here. Are you Korean? Yes , that’s right . They won’t let you take the bus because you’re Korean . Right? You have to register there to get in. Oh really..? Yes , oh but 100 yuan is too expensive. Round trip , right? 100 yuan for a round trip . Oh.. round trip? Let’s go. Oh.. round trip? Oh, if it’s a round trip, it’s different. It’s a round trip, right? Yeah, come here . What time.. So, how long.. I’ll wait . You come and sit in front. But there’s someone else in the car right now . Yeah, there’s someone else going with them . Is that right.. Let’s get in. I heard that returning is okay? Okay, okay. 100 yuan (about 20,000 won) for a round trip is fine. If you wait now, they said that the shuttle bus doesn’t take Koreans.. Did you bring your passport? I have a passport. If you have a passport, that’s fine. You can’t go in there without a passport. Then I’ll check. Of course there should be one, but just in case. Oh, but you speak Chinese really well. Thank you. Ah, there, there, that urgent taxi tour departure. Russians buy a lot of houses here. Oh , yeah, they buy houses here. The reason they live in China is that it doesn’t matter if they’re poor . It’s cheap to eat, live, and enjoy everything. And it’s safe . It’s this big? I heard that a tiger was roaming the street. They just showed me the pictures and videos they took here, but there are a lot of tigers . Filming is prohibited in this neighborhood where the police check IDs .. I’m driving on this road right now, and on this narrow road, this side is North Korea, this side is Russia , this is China, daebak. There’s a mountain over there, right ? Those mountains over there are all Russian mountains. Oh, all of them? ㅇㅇ That mountain over there is a Russian mountain and over here is a North Korean mountain . Wow, right now it’s Yangguanpyeong in Bangcheon Scenic Area. This is the narrowest section of territory in China . So the narrowest territory in China is here (if you go straight) Russia. Right now, this is China. This is North Korea . I’ve been to the border more than once or twice, but this is my first time in a place like this. It seems too dangerous to go in there, so I’ll stop here. Wow , let’s go up high now. Just in case, the driver told me to speak in Chinese as much as possible, but I’ll speak quietly. The Tumen River flows here and the other side is all North Korea . And the funny thing is that over there is Russia. And there’s a saying in Bangcheon Scenic Area that says , “When a rooster crows here, three countries listen, and when a dog barks here, three countries are startled. ” And it makes sense. If you speak (loudly) here, both sides will hear it. It’s North Korea . (You can see both North Korea and Russia through the telescope.) Wow, is there another place where three countries meet so narrowly ? Now we’re back to the next place and it’s so much fun. Crossing this (Duman River) is all North Korea. This time, we arrived at a place called Bangcheon Folk Village. And now, all of a sudden (I feel like there’s a guide) Oh, over there? Okay, 77 yuan is about 14,000 won? Oh, so we have to take a car and go in? Oh, hello. [Ticket success] And we’re taking a bus for 3 people… We arrived . This is a building called Ryongho Stone Pavilion. If you go up here , it seems like you can see both North Korea and Russia. We took the elevator (with a screen on the ceiling) and arrived at the observatory. I can see Russia , China , and North Korea, which I saw vaguely earlier, really well. It’s crazy . You can even see the East Sea at the end. It’s so amazing that there’s an observatory where you can see three countries at a glance. (You can take a certification shot of Russia, China, and North Korea at the same time.) We’re going there again, and Russia is right next to us. So when I heard about it , the time difference is one hour before this one step. So (each) one hour, one hour. What’s the time difference in North Korea right now? There too, if there’s an hour difference, is it (respectively) one hour, one hour, one hour ? This place feels a bit like an immigration office. Chinese people in North Korea can go in and look around, but I heard that Koreans can’t even enter and can only look from the outside. [Passing through the designated passage area with a certificate] It’s okay . Yeah, it’s okay. Let’s go . So, are we going back now? Yeah, let’s go back . I’m going back now. I fainted as soon as I got on . I fainted and then “You said you’d get off here,” so I went “Ugh” and got off. This is the Wastk Dream Island Russian amusement park that I came to yesterday . I couldn’t go in yesterday because I got here too late, right ? I was a little tired, so I was thinking about it now, but I came anyway . This place seems really unique, so I really want to go in, so I’m going to go in. How much is it? 188 yuan (about 36,000 won) . It’s more expensive than I thought , and I’m not even going to play for three hours, so I thought it would be a waste to go in, but since I’m here anyway, I’m going to buy a (ticket) and go in. Thank you. The entrance is no joke . The visuals: This is n’t Russia, it’s China . I’ll say it again… and it’s exciting once you get in . I’m glad I came in. Are there really no people here? It’s really empty. It’s surprisingly empty. Is this the scenery of China? (cognitive dissonance) It must be pretty fun? I can believe it, right? I actually don’t trust Chinese (regional) amusement parks, but I feel like I can trust this place for some reason. (The users) are all Russian families. Do you see the few users are all Russian ? It ‘s disconnected here , but when I saw it earlier, it was moving while it was running . It keeps going back and forth like this. I can’t trust it. (Distrust blooms again) (Viking is the safe bet in times like this) Doesn’t it sound fun? Hello . (There’s not a single person in line.) Where should I ride? Of course I’ll be at the back. There are two more passengers now. Luckily, there are three of us. No, it goes higher than I thought. Isn’t it different when you see it from below? (Dolphin noise) It’s different when you see it from below? I’m the only one screaming , a little embarrassed. I’m the only one screaming in this amusement park, so I’m a little embarrassed, but I can’t help but scream for a moment . This is the cry in the silence. I’m a little embarrassed. They do various shows, but the problem is that I’m the only audience member… (Feeling a sense of duty for the reaction) Here, there are really no Chinese customers. They’re all Russian customers. So it’s like a sudden change from a trip to China to a trip to Russia. Of course, I’m not going to Russia right now and I don’t really want to go, but anyway, I’m done playing and back in the city. I actually haven’t eaten anything since lunch today. I didn’t have time to eat because I was busy playing, so I’m going to eat lunch quickly now. I’m so hungry. [Nearby lamb skewer restaurant] Hello, one person. Let ‘s start with a cold beer. I really like lamb skewers. This will probably be my last dinner on my trip to Hunchun . I was a little worried because there wasn’t much information and reviews when I came to Hunchun this time , but actually, there was nothing to worry about. It was so good and exceeded my expectations. I’ll end my trip to Hunchun here. Now, I’ll go somewhere new. Bye.
