乾燥海藻の調理方法

To get started with cooking dried seaweed, you will need a big bowl, water, and dried seaweed. Dried seaweed is seaweed that is dried and doesn’t have any flavoring or roasting done to it. Make sure to use a big bowl because the seaweed will expand in size in the bowl once it’s soaked in the water. I’ll be using escalente and digitazi kelp. I’m only using a couple of pieces of both types of seaweed because it will expand in size in the water. This seaweed is from the seaweedman.com. Grab the seaweed and put it in the bowl. Add water into the bowl until it covers the seaweed with water. Soak the seaweed for 20 minutes. The seaweed will expand in size during this time. Once you’re done soaking the seaweed in water, grab the bowl and dump the seaweed and sea water into a pot and slow cook it on medium to low heat until the water steams and simmers for another 15 to 20 minutes. When you see the steam and water simmer, it’s ready to eat. Turn the stove off and enjoy the seaweed. If you aren’t used to eating seaweed, it may cause a gag reflex or it will feel like you’re about to throw up because it tastes bland if you aren’t used to it. And it smells like the sea, which can make people nauseous. This is because we are used to eating things that taste good. So, when you eat seaweed, it’s a shock to the nervous system and taste buds in a good way. You can mix it with bean soup or soup of your choice until you get adapted to the taste. Seaweed has many minerals that it absorbs from being in the ocean from electrolytes to trace minerals like copper and zinc and will vary in amount depending on the type of seaweed you eat. The mineral of iodine is abundant in many types of seaweed and helps the thyroid gland function well by releasing the hormone of thyroxine or T4 that’s converted into tritoyronine or T3 in our tissues and organs. These hormones affect many areas in our system like metabolism, digestion, and how our body uses energy. Digitata kelp will have around 1,00 to 1,500 micrograms of iodine while laria will have around 100 to 200 micrograms of iodine. The recommended daily intake of iodine for adults 19 years and older is 150 micrograms. Remember to drink the seaweed water too because there will be nutrients in it. So enjoy the seaweed and stay healthy.
