Day 1 – Tokyo to Izu Peninsula

We started our road trip by picking up the campervan from Travellers Autobarn Japan. The two-hour drive to the Izu Peninsula featured scenic coastal views, with our first stop at Jogasaki Coast to explore its rugged cliffs and the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge. We spent the night at a campsite near Shuzenji Onsen, enjoying a relaxing hot spring soak before cooking dinner in the van and unwinding under the stars!

Day 2 – Exploring Izu’s Hidden Gems

We began the day at Joren Falls, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by lush forests. Next, a cable car ride at Izu Panorama Park offered stunning views of Mt. Fuji. In the afternoon, we explored Dogashima’s dramatic rock formations and took a mesmerising boat tour through its sea caves. We ended the day camping near Toi Beach, falling asleep to the sound of the waves and the coastal breeze!

Day 3 – Yamanashi and Mt. Fuji Views

Day three was all about Mt. Fuji. We started at Lake Kawaguchi, where the mountain’s reflection created a picture-perfect view. Next, we visited Oshino Hakkai Springs, a charming village with crystal-clear ponds and traditional thatched-roof houses. We ended the trip camping near Lake Yamanaka, enjoying a cozy dinner with Mt. Fuji’s silhouette as our backdrop!

Day 4 – Shonan Coast and Back to Tokyo

On our final day, we explored the Shonan area, stopping at Enoshima for its shrines, caves, and ocean views. At Shichirigahama Beach, we watched surfers before heading to Kamakura for fresh seafood and matcha sweets!
