Pai Thailand IS IT WORTH IT ?!
Hey everyone, in this video we’re
going to show you things to do in Pai. We’re going to driving around on a
motorbike. First night we stayed in Pai, but you saw that in a previous video.
This time we’re going to be exploring area around the pie. So let’s get
into the video. Let’s go. Let’s go. I want to tell you I wasn’t impressed with
pie. This is so cool. I love this. You can actually see the whole of the village
like perched on the mountain here. This is what we’ve been waiting for. I’m
going to show you the place. It’s stunning. Can anyone guess what this is? Oh,
wow. We’re going to come back here. So, Big Buddha is just behind me, but in
front of me is temple called Waten. The original bridge was built here back during
World War II. I’m glad we live in Pi now. You Yeah, I like the nature a bit more. Get outside
of the big cities, go for a drive, and be a bit more in nature. Cuz as you know, we we live
in Bangkok most of the time. So, this is Yeah, we love this. Absolutely love it. Fresh air. I
want to tell you, I wasn’t impressed with Pi Town. I’m glad we only had one night there. Don’t get
me wrong, it’s nice to go and see um have a look, you know, have a drink, people watch on a walking
street. Probably one night in Pi Town is going to be enough for you. Then get a bike or get a car,
drive around and go to see the rice fields, go somewhere else. I would stay in a place that we’re
going to be going to later and we’ll show you. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, black clouds. This big storm’s
coming. We might need to get our jackets back out. We’re not far from our next stop. We’re going
to a little village called Ban Jabo. It was like um 1 hour drive from Pi. We stopped a couple
times as well. Woo! Look at the views. But views meant to be incredible over there. And
our friend Joe Parila recommended us really good noodle soup spot. So, we’re going to go
enjoy that. Good lunch. Good views and yeah, hopefully not too cloudy. We can see
for miles. Let’s go and have a look. We have arrived. What a beautiful
view. Look at that view. Danny, maybe Don lean on it. Why not? This is so
cool. I love this. You can actually see the whole of the village like perched on the mountain
here. I think there’s loads of coffee spots here as well. So, if you even want to come for a
coffee, come up here, have a coffee. Look at the view. You see people hanging their legs over
the side. It looks cool. Let’s get some food. Yeah. Yeah. I want to sit in the front. Crazy, crazy, beautiful view. Food
has arrived already. That was very, very quick. What we’ve ordered? We’ve ordered
some noodle soups with this beautiful, stunning view. Check this out.
Right, let’s go for the soup. Oh, this is yummy. A lot of like fried garlic or
shallots in there. some veggies as well. It’s nice clean broth. This is delicious. Pork is super
soft as well. I have like a minced pork here. Basically, I just went for minced pork and clear
soup. This is delicious. But the place is really, really busy. Don’t forget one pins.
These fried oneins are delicious. So, I actually went for the uh
tom yam. I wanted a bit of spice. This looks delicious. Ground pork, chilies,
garlic, some meatballs as well. Look at that. Oh, that’s really good. Mhm. That is delicious. Spicy. A little bit
spicy, but a good amount of spice. It’s nice. A bit chili coming up. So, nice spicy
soup is good. What else you got there? Oh, sorry. I hid these out the way. Oh, crispy
pork. So, you get these and you crunch them over the top. Just gives it a bit more bite,
bit more crunch. Yum. Yeah, it’s so good. That’s a really, really good soup. Really good.
I think I’ll try some of yours in a minute. No, you won’t. So, thanks Joe for the recommendation.
This is absolutely stunning spot for lunch. But mainly you come here for the view
as well. The soup is delicious. But to sit here with this seat with this view,
this is what we came for. Yeah. This is the busiest restaurant in the area what we
saw. Yeah. When we were driving. So yeah, we know it’s good. M good. Oh yeah. And the
priceless was uh 60 bath a bowl. So really good. and so I was hoping for a little bit more of a
chill spot here, but it’s really very busy. But let’s have a look if we can find quieter place
in town somewhere. The view is stunning though. But look at those little houses and the mountains
as well. The rocks, it looks so beautiful. Right, we’re off again. High area. The Mihong area
is very famous with farming, rice fields. So, let’s go and check it out. Let’s go and
find some quiet spot and show you some more beautiful views. Let’s go. Right. So, now
we’re heading to another It’s not a viewpoint, but somewhere that looks really nice
on the map anyway. So, we’re going to go check it out. It’s only 5 minutes
from here. So, let’s go and have a look. How cool does this look? You don’t even need to
fly the drone here. There is a lot of checkpoints around here. I think it’s because we are near
the border border of Myanmar. Border of Myanmar. So this is said that it’s an otop village
which basically means they um it’s where they have traditional kind of either clothing or
items. So craft craft. Let’s go and have a look and see actually what they have. So we’re just
approaching the village now. It meant to be a lot of beautiful rice here. So this is Milana
village. That’s what the sign said over there. This is really really pretty little bit
of chickens. Skinny chicken. Don’t know where we going. We’re going towards the right. So, we’re trying to find our way around here
and try and find our next spot where to go. But luckily, Ubiji has us covered even in
the most remote places like this one. So, as you know already, there is one thing we do not
travel without, which is UBG app. You may ask, what is UBG? It’s an application that allows you
to get EIM data plans in over 200 destinations. You probably wonder why we pick UBG every time we
travel. So, it’s easy to install. The internet is super fast and reliable. There are no surprise
roaming charges and you’re not tied in to a long-term contract. And it’s the only app that
allows you to recharge and top up your eSIM data plan without any Wi-Fi connection like in this
places here. It takes seconds to activate. Go to your settings, choose SIM manager or SIM settings,
disable SIM you’re using now, and turn on UBG. Your ESIM is activated and straight away you can
navigate again. And no stress, you’re going to run out of data midway through your trip. What I
like it the most about UBG app, no fuffing around in the airports. Straight away you can get a taxi
and off you go for your travels. So download your UBG app now to get your free ESIM. And don’t
forget to use code Danny and Diggy at checkout to get 10% off your first ESIM data plan. So you
can find all the data plans at ubiji.com/danny and Diggy to get fast and reliable internet for your
next trip. Thank us later. Thank you very much UBI for sponsoring this video. And now we’re not
going to get lost. Right. Ready? Ready. Let’s go. This village is absolutely stunning. It’s
beautiful. We are surrounded by the rice field. It’s very, very local. Loads of nice
small houses. It’s so picturesque. I love it. I’ve never seen little village
like that in Thailand yet. We got stuck in the mud. Can’t go through
anymore. The bike is too heavy. But there is some water buffaloos here. Some locals
looking at us probably thinking like, “What is this crazy fang doing here
in my garden?” Sorry, we’re going now. We just like to take a little road and explore
and see what’s going to happen. Buffalo. I just seen over there there is
Milana me or Milana home pay. They’ve got some caves here
as well. Cute little girls. It’s so nice. Everyone says hello
to us. All the locals passing on the motorbike. They say hello. They
know they wave. Very very lovely. Was waving. So we just windy. So we just stopped
here to see the viewpoint. But weather is turning for the worst. It’s super windy. Sorry. It’s super windy and I hope we’re not going
to get stuck in the rain. But look at the view. Find out the neighborhood. Are we
going the right way? Yeah. Okay. Viewpoint, I think. Post toilet snack. Oh, yeah. Chewy. No, that’s good. I
like it when they’re chewy. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Really meaty. Yum. Oh, I like
this slightly dried as well. Yeah, I really like it. We had a breakfast at the
hotel. Pancakes. The hotel we stayed in, Pi Town. Highly recommend it. Really good.
Good breakfast as well. Great location, very clean, very comfortable bed. I had a great
night’s sleep. Give me a sausage. All right, let’s go back on the road. Yep. Let’s get back
on the road. We got light. I don’t think the rain is coming. It’s kind of like cloudy but not
raining. Yeah, don’t say that. Famous last words. Let’s go. Right. So, we have arrived in our
accommodation. This is what we’ve been waiting for. Going to show
you the place. It’s stunning. Let me show you the place. I can’t wait to show you this place. Smell nice.
Oh, wow. This is beautiful. Shoes, Danny. Wow. Oh my god. Look at this. We have a beautiful bed.
Little chill area here. Fridge. How cool is this? Little like a laundry area basket here. Beautiful
little bathroom. I got window. Oh my god. You got a bath. I forgot about outside.
I forgot about the bath. Oh my god. And a fire. Yes. You have no idea what
we’ll be doing tonight. Me and Danny, we’ll be cooking on a fire. Look at this. Look
at our balcony. Our garden. Danny. We even have a little kitchen. And we can sit at Look. Oh my
god. Fy Mac. Beautiful. Look at this. Garden. Oh, little kitchen. Kitchen and little camping
chairs as well. Even on the roof as well, right? Yes. Danny, are you having a
bath? They might see me. No, don’t worry. But let me show you the view from the
top. Yes, we do have a top balcony. Look at this. How amazing is this? This is all for us. We have
a little lounge area too. We are in the middle of very quiet village. I am shouting here at the
moment. But how beautiful is this? Is this good? Good find. I did well. Yeah. And you got a good
view from here. Look at you can see everything we have from here. So you got the bath, you got
the kitchen area, you got the fire, you can see it all from here. I don’t think I can get fully
naked in this one. It’s quite exposed. Yeah. How do you like this accommodation? I I’m in
love. I absolutely love it. I’m just waiting for Danny. He’s bringing a beer for us.
Yeah. This is beautiful place. I think the video is going to go downhill from now
on because I don’t want to leave anymore. I don’t want to go and explore pie. I’m I am
happy to stay here and chill. Only joking. We will go and explore. But I think we are
up for we are waiting for beautiful sunset today. Hello. I got wood. You got wood. Come
on. Danny brought wood. This was always our favorite thing to do when we were back home
making a fire. So, we are so happy. Hello. Cheers. Who needs a viewpoint when you got this?
What do you think of this place? Absolutely love it. This is Yeah. One of my top places I
think so far we stayed in. I like this. This is what I like. Yeah. This is so cool.
Bring your own beer. We can have a fire. Oh, I’m a happy person. Yes. Yeah. How much did
we pay for this? So, for the two nights, we paid 2520 bat for two nights. Yeah. But
for everything you get here. Yeah. I love it. There’s even a chill area where you can
go make your own coffee and help yourself to coffee with like comfy chairs and everything.
They have a little restaurant where you can get like more basic dishes. You can get all
your Thai dishes. And they do like avocado and toast even for breakfast if you want
to be a bit fancy. But no, this is nice. Just waiting for the sunset. But the best thing
is going to be happening after the sunset. We’re going to be cooking on a fire today. Some home
comfort food. Diggy sent me out on a quick shopping mission. So, I’ve just been zooming
around for the past 10, 15 minutes, gathering some ingredients and extra things that we need,
including a beer. But yeah, no, there’s shops nearby here. There’s a 7-Eleven not far from here
as well. There’s always one nearby somewhere. Did you go seven? Yeah, I went 7-Eleven. Oh, really?
Yeah, because it’s the only place that would have bread. Oh, the other places didn’t have bread.
I’m the fire starter. Twisted fire starter. No, we’re having um a fire. We want to cook some
food. Sun’s going down. Perfect time to get a fire going, I think. Yeah. Yeah, let’s do it. Cuz
mosquitoes are biting me. Oh, yeah. Get rid of the mosquitoes as well. But yeah, this is what we’ve
been waiting for. Oh, Danny started already patty. Yeah. So, they started cooking. We basically got
like a German smoked sausage that we’re cooking here. Similar to Polish is the closest we can
get to Polish sausages. They’re going. Diggy’s doing a good job. Me, not so much, but I’ll
supply Diggy with beer. The wood is uh wet, so it was a little bit difficult, but
we’ve got it going. We’ve got some what you call it? Charcoal, too. So, yeah,
we can cook. We’re not going to starve. Can anyone guess what this is? It’s not spaghetti.
So guys, we got something interesting here. You may not even know what this is, but in Poland,
they have something called it’s like ostec and it’s made from sheep’s cheese, but normally it’s
kind of smoked. So, this basically is string smoked sheep’s cheese. We found this, believe it
or not, in Vietnam. We’ve been keeping it until we do something like this. But this is amazing. We’re
going to have sausages, which is like in Poland, and we’ve also got the Polish stringy cheese as
well. Love it. What a night. So good. Good beer snack. Yeah. Mhm. Definitely. But just be quiet
for a minute, Danny. But can you hear the sound? Frogs, crickets, everything. It’s so hot cooking
by the fire. But we made it. We’ve done it. We’ve got a We’ve got a lovely sausage. Try it,
Danny. M good. Good chef. Really good. Oh, yeah. Does it taste like back in Poland? Mhm. Yeah.
For me, we could cook these a little bit longer, but this is delicious. Really good. Yeah.
Diggy’s put some toast on the fire as well, so you can wrap the sausage in toast. So
cool. Having a good night. I love it. It’s crispy on the outside. Soft salty chew
in the middle. Danny, be careful. Smoke in my eyes. Let’s try. M. Oh, it’s so good. I
know before you say anything, guys, that yes, it’s not Thai food, but this is like a little
treat for us. Something we wouldn’t normally do, and it’s a reminder of home. Think about this,
right? We haven’t been back home for 3 years. So, this is like a little reminder of home. Yeah,
it’s nice. I think anyone who watches our videos, they know we haven’t been home for 3
years now in Poland. More than three, five. Good morning everyone. Cheers. Cheers with
coffee. We are at 28 November coffee place having our morning coffee with beautiful view of the rice
fields and actually accommodation we showed you um the other day. But what we’re going to do,
we’re going to have coffee and then we’re going to go and grab breakfast by the river and explore
rest of the pie. Yes. Yeah. By the way, this is really good coffee. Really good. Really nice
coffee. I’m not sure if you can see it properly, but I’m all swirled up on the one side of my face.
Something bit me last night and I woke up with looking like this. So, you might see more Danny in
this video because I’m quite conscious about that. We are staying in the middle of the rice fields.
There was a li a bit of rain yesterday as well, so it is expected. But yeah, the bugs like me. So,
yeah, we’re going to finish this one and head to get a bite of food. 20 minutes drive outside
of Pi Town and we have arrived in a beautiful restaurant by the river where we’re going to have
our breakfast/ lunch. So, we’ve done our order. Food looks absolutely amazing here. You’re going
to be up for a treat. We’re going to be up for a treat. But also, uh the guy doesn’t speak much
English, but there is a menu in English. So, you can come here and just point to which one you
want. But they have some interesting like uh side dishes to come here as well. And I think it goes
with lab. They have something which is well known in northern Thailand, which is this. This is
pickled, but this is called mquen pepper. So, it’s similar to Sichuan peppercorns. And
apparently, you put it in with the lab, but this is super fragrant. Smell it. Oh, yeah.
Yeah. I’m going to try that. Right. So, our food has arrived. We ordered uh to sab to sab moo and
uh lab loo. Lab mu. But this lab is different. It looks like it’s cooked. It’s in a kind of like a
soup. I think the guy said by the way, people here are so friendly. Super super nice. Smells so good.
Just smells amazing. I’m not sure if we’ve done a right thing, but we said we can eat spicy. We
will find out. We will find out. More coming back. Some fresh veggies as well. Okay. We also have kuyan. Our favorite. This
looks good. Doesn’t have much fat on it. Danny, that looks nice. It almost looks like a slightly
sundried maybe as well. I think it looks like it. We’re going to do things properly. Little bowl.
Little bowl. I just like to eat it straight from the, you know, the plates they always give us. But
Oh, it has dill in it. Look, loads of herbs. Danny discovered very recently dill soup in Thailand,
right? I don’t know what is this soup with dill called. Loads of veggies dill and is amazing.
Let’s see. This is slightly more like like a sour soup, right? Oh my god. Good. This is the
best to sab I ever had. This is so good. Spicy, limey, loads of basil in there. You’re going
to like that, Danny. Yeah. Pork rib soup. And the ribs are so so soft. Oh, good. Right. That is
so good. I know. I know. This is one dish that I love. It’s a kuyang if you don’t know. Basically,
it’s a grilled pork. Grilled pork neck. It comely comes with a sauce. And I bet you this one
is a lot different to everywhere else. So, so I’m going to use my fingers. This is Yeah.
more like sundried, I think. And I like it’s super soft. It’s not chewy. Mhm. It really like
falls apart. Slightly smoky. Oh my god. This is what we came for. Proper northern Thai food. This
is why we wanted to come here because we saw it had some amazing food on the menu. I can’t wait
to try this lab. It looks so interesting. For me, it’s like really dark cuz normally you see pork
is normally quite light in color, but this pork looks like it’s been more kind of smashed. I
think I don’t know how to explain it, but it smells so good. We need to try those pickled
things or Yeah. Right. I’m just going to go with my hand. Good. Wow. We’re going to come
back here. I’m not leaving without coming here again. Let me try. Oh, that is good. That is
really good. Can’t explain what that flavor is, but maybe they’ve already put that mwen pepper
inside already. Maybe. Which makes it really, really fragrant. like floury, floral, fragrant,
and a little bit spicy. That is so good. Very rich the lab here. Compared to like labs you
have in Bangkok or in the south, this is more rich. But I like this more. I think there’s only
like two people cooking and preparing here. So, it’s a small place, but that food came out
super fast as well. Very fast. Really good. And I tell you what, it’s hard to find authentic
good Thai food in pie, but we found it. So, I’m going to try some of these. These are the
machwen peppercorns. And they said to put it inside the lab. Oh, smells delicious. Chuck it
in. You said only a little bit. That’s a little bit of it. Might be slightly overpowering. I might
have put a bit too much. Chuck it inside there. M. Mhm. Yeah, that changes the flavor completely.
That’s super fragrant. The pepper is not that spicy, I don’t think. For now, it’s not that
spicy. That’s really good. Oh, now it’s kicking in. There’s a little bit of spice to that. Try
that. Can you tell us what this is? Anyways, what is this? I just love sitting here by the river as
well. Which one is your favorite? lab. Thumbs up. Always forgets his handbag. I’m
not used to having a manbag. Oh, what was the price of that really? So, that
was 280 B for all that food we had. Uh, we spotted nice little lizard as well. Very
colorful just by our bike. But now we are off to show you some tourist attraction. Uh we off to
see Bamboo Bridge. Yeah, let’s go. 30 minute drive for us. Probably a bit longer cuz we’re going
to be stopping as always. So yeah, let’s go. I always pick the best road. This one is
a bit bumpy. Might as well be off road. We could have gone on the main road,
you know. I know. It was a funny lap. We’re just driving to a place called Pangong
Village. It’s really nice here. Beautiful. The road is brand new, so it’s easy to drive.
Again, rice fields, greenery everywhere. It shows you when you get off the beaten path, when
you get away from the pie, pie is beautiful. So, I just say that when you get off the beaten
path and pie is beautiful. And there’s one of the main tourist attraction we just passed by and
it looks super busy. It looks busy, but it looks nice. Should we go and have a look around? Yeah,
we’ll go for a drink. Maybe have a look. Yeah, let’s have a look. You tell them. Right guys,
we don’t fancy going in in there. Basically what it is, it’s a load of patty fields. You
can grab a coffee in some spots. Get off my boo. You can grab a coffee in some spots. It is
30 B to go in and walk on the basically bamboo walkways. Yeah. So, it’s not expensive to go
in at all, but not for us really, is it? No, it’s just place to take a loads of nice pictures
and selfies and stuff like that. We rather watch beautiful views from the bike. So, let’s go.
Let’s take it back on the bike. Let’s go. But we’re going to we’re going to go and check out
now Big Buddha of Pi which is beautiful temple on the top of the hill mountain. Looks beautiful
from far. So we’re going to go and check it out. at the bottom. Yeah, the bottom of it looks
very similar to Big Buddha in Phuket. So, Big Buddha is just behind me, but in front of me
is temple called Wat Pratt Yen. Wat Prattaten. Wat Pratt Mayan. So, let’s go and check this one out
first. I think we should have a good view of Pi Town from here. I think so. So, you can basically
see this Buddha from nearly anywhere in the center of Pi. So, we wanted to come up and check it out
and look at the views from up here rather than looking up at it. It looks like there’s some monks
praying in a temple. So, let’s go have a look. That was really cool. I have
no idea what he’s saying, of course, but I always like to listen to it. This is meditation center. Yeah, it’s a little bit overcast today,
but you can see the view of the whole pie over there. It’s nice little spot
here. Nice and peaceful up here. Nice and quiet. It’s nice just to listen to
the prayer and walk around. So quiet. Very short drive. And we have arrived in memory
of bridge. There is also toilet here. Five bar if you would like to know. Danny is a fact man on
our channel. I’m just full of useful information. Come on baby talk. Hello and welcome to another
landmark of Pi. This is called the Tapai Memorial Bridge or Tapai Bridge. I’m not going to
go in massive detail about this bridge, but basically the original bridge was built here
back during World War II when the Japanese Allied forces were then going to invade. It was colonized
Brit British colonized Burma. And basically they instructed the people of this village to build a
bridge across this river, the Pi River. But when the forces actually left, they actually burnt
this bridge down, which was not only for them, but the locals used this to transport goods
backwards and forwards. So the locals then once the Japanese and the Allied forces left, they
rebuilt this bridge again for the second time. But I think maybe even like a year later, they
had massive floods and it ripped out the whole bridge again. Bridge being used by the locals
as I said, still in use. So then basically what happened was the people of Pi basically asked the
district, provisional district of Chiang Mai to get them or get them another bridge or help make
another bridge. And this is what you see now. This American steel bridge which was transported from
Mi Hong and put here. It’s not in use anymore. But if you look at the construction, doesn’t it
remind you of another bridge in Thailand? Drop it in the comments. Let us know which one. I love
traveling with Danny. always learn new facts. And while you’re in this area, you can also
Wait, don’t push me back. Trip over. While you’re in this area, literally 2 minutes
down the road is the famous Pi Canyon, which is basically a massive canyon made
over many years where it’s just eroded, but the single tracks you can walk along. And at
sunset time it’s meant to be beautiful which we didn’t do because we ran out of time and basically
we had a lot of rain in between and every time we thought okay let’s go to the canyon now it started
to rain so oh well maybe next time. Oh and Danny just said that it’s very slippery and dangerous
this time. Yeah because of a lot of rain. So we are leaving this beautiful place, our
stay, base camp, lovely people, absolutely amazing accommodation, super relaxing in the
middle of the rice field. Just look at this. So no stops now. We are on the way to Shiang Mai.
Hopefully we’re not going to get caught in the rain. But I really hope you like this video. Um,
we showed you some things of the beaten path. One of the tourist attractions here as well. Pi
is definitely place where you want to relax, unwind. My tip for you is stay outside of Pi Town.
If you want to go and enjoy a bit of a night life, you can always get a taxi or grab. But we loved
our accommodation. And if we’re going to come back to pie, we are going to come back and stay in the
same place. This one was one of the best places, one of our favorite places we stayed in Thailand.
People, location, and amenities. Yeah. Yeah. It’s beautiful. Really loved it. The little house
we had. Amazing. Sit on the roof. Best sunset in Thai. So, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and
see you guys in the next one. Love you lunch time.

No biggie, im retiring in Thailand so I have nothing but time to explore.
สวัสดีค่ะ😊😊
Great views, guys, on the way. Food looked good overlooking stunning views of the village and the mountains. Love Diggys excitement at there accommodation stay. Nice indeed. Wow outdoor cooking. Sheep cheese and goats cheese my fav. Great combinations with three sasuages and the toast. Those bugs must like you Diggy. Nice Buddhist place and temple. Interesting story about the bridge. My uncle was pow at Burma and helped to build the bridge over the river kwai. Fun video guys as always.
Love the countdown. I had MTV flashbacks from the early 80's. 😂😂
