Oyakuen is a historical Japanese garden in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture. It’s famously known as a “medicinal herb garden” because it was developed in the 17th century by the lord of the Aizu domain to cultivate medicinal plants for the benefit of the local residents. The garden features Japanese gardens, a fish pond, various Japanese trees, flowers, plants, old historical Japanese structures and houses and of course a tea house.
