Today, we are going to visit a new, large, newly-built cafe that costs a whopping 3.7 billion won to start . Usually, these large cafes are expensive, so they are located in the outskirts of the city, not in the city center. However, the cafe we will visit this time is very accessible, as it can be easily reached by subway and bus . This walking trip, where you can spend your time comfortably regardless of the weather, starts at Exit 1 of Guseong Station. Guseong Station is a transfer station where the yellow Suin Bundang Line and the purple GTX A Line are located . Originally, there was only the Suin Bundang Line, but in March 2024, the GTX A Line connecting Suseo Station and Dongtan Station opened, making it a little more accessible. However, please note that the basic fare for GTXA is 3,200 won, so please be careful. If you exit Exit 1 of Guseong Station and walk a little further, you will cross a bridge like this. If you turn right after crossing the bridge, you will reach the LG Byeoksan Apartment Yeonwon Village stop. If you take Bus No. 116-3 from here, you can get to today’s destination in one go. The bus has arrived. Shall we board it? It’s a transfer. I got on the bus for about 25 minutes and got off at the Bom-ui Nonghyup stop at Gom-ui Sa-geori. Here, turn around and go across the tire store. As I walked along the road, I saw a large building with a placard announcing that it had newly opened. This is the new, large-scale cafe that I’m going to visit today. Let’s go inside. When I went inside, I saw an exotic tree much taller than a person and a unique fountain light . This is the Yongin branch of Forest Outings, a new, large-scale cafe that opened on June 24, 2025. Forest Outings first opened in Ilsan in 2020. After that, the Songdo branch opened in 2021, and the Yongin branch opened 4 years later in 2025. As you can see from the name of the cafe, Forest Outings is a cafe with a large-scale plant garden concept. It’s amazing that plants that you can only see in Jeju Island are gathered in the center of the cafe. What’s interesting is that you can also walk into the garden. There are even fish inside. The landmark of Rest Outings Yongin branch is the unique fountain in the center of the large plant garden. If you go up to the second floor or higher to see it, the atmosphere is really cool. So, before going upstairs, let’s go order a drink first. There are many delicious-looking breads displayed in the line in front of the counter . If you go up close, they look so delicious that it will make your mouth water. [Music] There are many kinds of breads, such as hwasang, sausage, salt, and cake. After passing the bread display, you will see a counter where you can order drinks. The price of drinks is generally between 7,000 won and 10,000 won. The basic menu, iced Americano, is 6,800 won for one cup. I ordered an iced Americano. So, shall we go upstairs now? Let’s start from the top floor, the 4th floor . When I went up to the top floor, the huge scale of the cafe came into view. The interior of the fountain, which was not visible from the lower floor, is also visible. If you go to the end of the hallway, there are many seats like this. [Music] If you open the door on the opposite side and go out, you will see outdoor seats. The structure allows direct sunlight, and the luxurious interior and scenery combined together give the feeling of being at a luxury resort. There was also an outdoor seating area on the other side. This place also has a very luxurious atmosphere. When you open the door and go out, there are more seats. In the center, there is an observation deck where you can take in the entire view of the cafe at a glance. There is a path that leads down to the third floor below, and there are tables along the stairs. The view of the cafe from the third floor is also very nice. However, when I came down from the fourth floor to the third floor , I could see the inside of the fountain in the middle of the cafe better . The water flowing down the fountain shaped like a coffee cup was really amazing. There were also many seats in the third floor hallway and at the end of the hallway. [Music] Even though I visited after lunch on a weekday , there were really a lot of people. However, the cafe was so large that it seemed like it would take more than 30 minutes just to look around all the floors . There are about 300 to 350 seats here . I was curious, so I looked up the total floor area of this cafe, and it seemed to be about 1,000 pyeong. What’s even more surprising is that the cost of opening such a large cafe is a whopping 3.7 billion won. When I searched, it was said to be exactly 3.749 billion won. After doing a simple calculation, I found that in order to recover this investment, I would have to sell 550,000 cups of iced Americano at 6,800 won. If 300 people come every day and order iced Americano, it would take 10 years to break even. Of course, this is a simple calculation excluding fixed costs, but it seems like a more difficult challenge than I thought. However, considering the high unit price of drinks and bakery, and the relatively expensive brunch menu, I think I can recover my investment in less than 10 years. While calculating the cost of opening a cafe, my coffee arrived. I took my coffee and went to the second floor. I sat down right next to the governor, and it was nice to drink my coffee while staring blankly at the stream of water. The second floor, like the other floors, had a lot of seats. [Music] There are also low tables along the stairs. There is a table with a low floor at the end of the hallway. While drinking coffee, I wondered what the bathroom looked like. There are bathrooms on every floor except the basement and the second floor. The reception was smaller than I thought, but it was clean and nice to look at. [Music] I was in the cafe for about two hours . The drinks were more expensive than regular cafes , but if it was close, I thought it would be nice to come here and take a break sometimes. I took a comfortable break and headed back home. When heading back home, you can take bus number 116-3 from the stop opposite Gomae Agricultural Cooperative at Gomae Intersection where you got off earlier. [Music] So I got off at the stop near Guseong Station and took the subway back home. The huge new cafe that was easy to get to by public transportation , and the magnificent view of the huge plant garden and gorgeous fountain that I could see there . 아이스 아메리카노 한 잔의 가격이 6,800원이라 다른 카페보다는 조금 비싸지만, 규모도 크고 대중교통만으로도 갈 수 있는 접근성이 좋은 곳이라 가볍게 다녀오기 좋았습니다.
