Tokyo Kagurazaka |Tokyo Daijingu & Akagi Shrine | Hidden Food Spots & Streets – JAPAN Trip
Escape the crowds and explore Tokyo’s hidden side with me on this peaceful walking tour through Kagurazaka, Iidabashi, and Edogawabashi—three charming neighborhoods nestled in the heart of the city.
I begin at Tokyo Daijingu, often referred to as “Tokyo’s Ise Grand Shrine,” and later visit the serene Akagi Shrine, a modern architectural gem tucked away in Kagurazaka.
For breakfast, I stop at Sekiguchi Bakery in Edogawabashi—a beloved local spot where I enjoy a sandwich that still ranks as one of the best I’ve ever had. Lunch takes me to a cozy traditional Japanese restaurant in Kagurazaka, and we finish with dessert at a stylish café.
Along the way, we stroll through narrow alleyways, hidden streets, and nostalgic corners that still retain the calm, authentic spirit of old Tokyo—despite being right in the center of the city.
If you’re searching for a Tokyo walking tour with shrine visits, great local food, and hidden gems, this is the perfect escape.
