【山口】山口宇部空港と山口お勧めお土産をご紹介‼︎
Hello. This is Taka from Zipang55. This time I would like to introduce Yamaguchi Ube Airport in Yamaguchi Prefecture and some popular souvenirs. This channel mainly introduces hotels and tourist spots around the country. It will encourage me to make videos, so I would be happy if you could subscribe to the channel and give it a high rating. I’d like to head over there right away. Yamaguchi Ube Airport is located in the southern central part of Yamaguchi Prefecture, making it relatively easy to access all areas of Yamaguchi Prefecture. The three main airlines operating domestic flights at Yamaguchi Ube Airport are Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, and Star Flyer. The routes also seem to be mainly the Haneda route. Therefore, the airport is relatively small. The first floor had the arrival lobby and check-in counter. The rental car reception desk was located in one location within the airport, and the process was very smooth, so it was very convenient. I was able to actually rent a car at the airport and was able to travel without wasting any time, which was great. The second floor has a souvenir shop and two restaurants, so I would like to introduce them to you. First, let’s take a look at the souvenir shop and introduce some recommended souvenirs. The first is pufferfish ochazuke. The one you often see is Fuku no Chazuke made by Kunichika Shoten, a seafood manufacturer and wholesaler founded in 1951. There are 5 pieces in each bag, so you can enjoy it several times. Just pour a bag over rice and pour tea to enjoy pufferfish-flavored ochazuke. Yamaguchi is famous for its pufferfish, and the price is reasonable, so I think it would be a perfect souvenir. There are many souvenirs made with pufferfish, so be sure to look for them. The second one is “Otafuku no Kawara Soba”. This is the soba noodles that I introduced in the previous Yamaguchi sightseeing spot. Although they are sold as souvenirs at another shop, it’s nice to be able to eat Kawara Soba at home. Kawara soba is a Yamaguchi specialty gourmet dish that consists of green tea soba, Kinshi tamago, beef, etc. placed on a hot tile. When you eat it at a restaurant, it is served on an actual roof tile. At home, it seems like you bake it on a hot plate or a frying pan. Although it does not contain any ingredients, you can still enjoy authentic Kawara Soba, so please try purchasing it as a souvenir or for your home. The third one is “chicken egg cracker”. It was also placed at Kai Nagato. You can enjoy the simple taste that you will never get tired of using eggs and honey. The price is about 700 yen for 30 pieces, which is a great deal. It would be great as an inexpensive souvenir. The fourth one is Uiro. Yamaguchi Uiro of Mihorido seems to be especially famous. Uiro is famous for those made in Nagoya and Odawara, where rice flour is the main ingredient, but Yamaguchi Uiro’s main ingredient is bracken flour, and it is characterized by its jiggly elasticity and chewy texture. The unique texture and elegant sweetness are said to be captivating. Please try purchasing the famous Uiro. The fifth one is Kakonoki’s “Egg Found on the Moon.” There is plenty of custard cream inside the fluffy steamed castella cake. It started in 1986 when All Nippon Airways proposed it as a tea snack for domestic flight meals. It seems that the flight attendant came up with the name “Egg Found on the Moon.” In 1994, we received the Prime Minister’s Award at the National Confectionery Expo, and in 2017, we received the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Award at the Oise-san Confectionery Expo 2017. It’s a famous sweet, so be sure to buy it. The sixth is the Japanese sake Dassai. It goes without saying that this is a famous sake from Yamaguchi. The manufacturing company, Asahi Sake Brewery, only makes Dassai, and all of the sake they make is made with Junmai Daiginjo. This grade is considered to be the highest quality among Japanese sake. The raw material rice used is “Yamada Nishiki”, which is known as the king of sake rice. Among them, the price of sake varies depending on the “polishing”. Polishing refers to the percentage of unpolished rice that is left unpolished during the rice polishing process. There is also a drinking comparison set, so be sure to try a variety of Dassai. Small bottles are also available and can be purchased at a reasonable price, making them perfect as souvenirs. The souvenir shop also sells refrigerated and processed foods, so be sure to check them out. There are 2 restaurants. Asukatei mainly served Japanese gozen meals. The other is Coco’s, which mainly serves Western food. I decided to have dinner at Coco’s. They didn’t really offer Yamaguchi-like cuisine. It may be better to finish your meal somewhere else than at the airport. The airport is generally small, so even if you arrive that early, you probably won’t have to. The souvenir shop is small, but they carry famous items, so it might be a good idea to stock up on souvenirs at the airport. There also seems to be a card lounge, so I’d like to head there. There is no dedicated airline lounge, but a card lounge that you can use as a benefit for cardholders. Yamaguchi Ube Airport can be used by holders of this card. There was a simple soft drink inside. There were juices made using Yamaguchi mandarin oranges and milk from Akigawa. It’s nice to have local juices available. There were also newspapers and magazines. It was also decorated with utensils. The seats at the counter are convenient because you can also charge your batteries. There was a decent number of seats, and there were several sofa seats. However, if you use it during holidays, etc., it will likely be quite crowded. It is located outside the baggage inspection area, so please be aware of the opening hours. So, what did you think of “Yamaguchi Ube Airport” this time? Although it is small in size, it has a wide variety of souvenirs, and I think it is convenient for sightseeing in Yamaguchi. Please try using it when sightseeing in Yamaguchi. I would be happy if this video could be of some use to you in your travels. It will encourage me to make videos, so please subscribe to the channel and give me a high rating. Thank you for watching until the end. See you again in the next video~Goodbye ~
