WINTER CAMPING IN SPRING ❄️🌲 | Me, Dogs & Can-Am in the Snowy Mountains
Two deer just jumped across the road. Let’s try going right I can’t see anything but I hear crunching sounds right in front of him With this humidity, on the north side, among these pines you know there are wild boars. Thank you Milica The snow has fallen again and freezing temperatures are now a daily occurrence Although spring has officially arrived, winter seems unwilling to relinquish its hold. Despite our yard’s fruit trees blooming beautifully, this year’s frost came too early for them. But there’s something beautiful about this spring winter – the Kawasaki has started winning trophies, and not just any trophies – first place ones. The frost is here, winter is here, snow is here, but the weekend is here too. And we don’t like spending weekends sleeping at home. So we’re starting up the Can-Am and going camping under the open sky. We’re packing gear, getting ready and heading out. Milica, should we take Živko and Zorica with us? Agreed! We’ll take them too. We’re all going together. Let’s get ready. Don’t get in the way. Come on, come on. I’ll let you go in a second. Come on, get out. You two want to come too? Wait, come on. It’s not fair for just him to run. Micka, Milica, Zorka – go enjoy yourselves. Let’s take a break for some water. Did you really have to run right in front of me like that? Alright, let’s go. Could you miss at least one puddle, Zorica? I’ve got a problem here. It loses power above 20 km/h. Up to 20 km/h it’s fine, then loses power. Shows an error about the belt not being secured. That can’t be right because I had that fake one… I don’t know where it is now. Maybe it fell off and I had to stop. Oh look, these bags came loose. Just keeps getting better. I had to stop to retie them. But I didn’t consider whether they should be separate or if the problem is lower down. I’ll have to take it off to check. But first, before I forget, let me tie these bags properly. I’m sure I’d already tied them. Maybe they came loose and the rope fell out. Now everything’s starting to fall apart. This is all meltwater now as the snow is thawing. We’re going all the way to those snow patches today if the Can-Am can make it with this error it’s reporting. Now let’s see what we can do here. This is exactly why not all the clips need to be in place. Great. Now let’s see
if we disconnect this, what will happen. Let’s see what happens now. Still nothing. And if we bridge this connection? I don’t have wire but I’ll make some. This vehicle is like a Tomos moped –
burning wires, cutting pliers… …and pliers must always be on hand when riding. Let’s cut to the chase. Time to use your teeth. There. Now let’s see. I already had to stop once on the asphalt right after leaving town. I had to stop and retie this. I’ll take this piece of wire. Will it be enough? It will. I think I have a lighter here. Here we go
I had to stop right after leaving town while still on asphalt. That’s when this error appeared You can’t help me this time, Žile Let’s see what happens now Problem solved. We can continue.
Just need to tuck this away properly. Move over there. I’ll leave it like this for now and fix it properly at home This will do for now. This one’s disconnected. We just need to reattach the seat and continue. That problem is solved. Problem solved
You guys haven’t even gotten tired yet where’s Micka, does anyone know? there you are, beautiful. Let’s keep going come on, run! I solve one problem and another waits for me but nothing’s actually broken We passed through here. I wasn’t filming then. Two deer jumped across the path I knew Živko would immediately chase after them. He was behind the bags at that moment, and while I was stopping and calling him he probably didn’t hear me
He went down on all fours Look how steep this is – and off he went. And there he is You can hear him He was down there chasing them across the path I’ll try being quiet. Maybe they’ll return to the same spot here
Now he’s going up along the ridge their tracks are everywhere Now he’s going up along the ridge but
I don’t think he’ll come back down this way What did you find there Zorka? Is it wild garlic? What is she digging up? So it’s not wild garlic… did you find truffles? Micka help her Perfect to prepare with fish. They’re lean while we wait for Živko, at least we’re getting
some use from Zorka If I start digging a hole here, all we’ll find
are old boots or slippers that’s all she knows how to find And so…
we wait He’s chasing… Here comes the warrior
How far did you get? good thing you remembered to come back You’re overheated. Well
no wonder after that long chasing Come on, let’s continue our journey This dog could
go around the world with minimal rest
Just needs an occasional puddle to cool down There, now he’s good as new ready
for action and more chasing But are we ready to wait for him again? Let’s try going right Come on Zorka, time to start gaining altitude again Now we need to help a little Not easy Now everyone’s faster than me. I want to catch this door and break it so it can’t open anymore Great, I’ll glue them with super glue. Here we go again now we’re climbing altitude rapidly This is starting to really annoy me. I need to fix it let’s try tying something this won’t work like this How to secure it? If I had a hose clamp, I’d wrap it here Should you go in and hold it with your head? here’s Živko, he found some animal again I can’t see anything but I hear crunching sounds right in front of him Wow, this is going uphill now Now it’s straight ahead
I really can’t see anything Look how the wild animal escapes — it doesn’t go where it’s visible, but… right along these conifers
to stay hidden Now I have to wait for him again. All because of these doors that keep opening These are wild boars, more precisely a male boar. Živko’s barking in one place. He just came out on the other side. He can’t move it Snow fell a few days ago and there was plenty. Here there was at least 20 centimeters
but this is good. I expected there would be much more snow and that it would be at lower elevations than it actually is it’s starting to get very slippery
The forest is very dense here. That means the soil is good. And since the soil is good but the snow just melted, it’s slippery I’m being careful. This isn’t a game. I could easily slip. And the slopes are very steep I need to be extremely careful
Can’t take too many risks. I’m alone. Here’s the snow We’re climbing very very fast I need to be careful Here’s where the boars wallow
My pig is wallowing too There’s an obstacle in our way here that I don’t need to move because I can continue going uphill here Where are you piglet? Where are you baby? Baby baby baby grew up. Let’s keep going. Gaining altitude. With this humidity, on the north side, among these pines you know there are boars. He’s gathering scents now But I keep calling him back. Won’t let him continue Let’s go. We’re continuing Everything overturned by boars This is exactly what I was looking for perfect view Perfect sheltered spot for the tent. We’ll pitch the tent here Everything is perfect Milica went after Živko to chase.
Though Živko returned but Milica kept chasing longer. And now I hear her whining. She’s calling me she was chasing with high-pitched barks Živko returned. She continued. She kept chasing She was chasing with such high-pitched barks.
This was her first serious chase. And she chased for so long But now she’s having trouble returning. She’s calling me.
She’s signaling. I whistle, she whines. I whistle, she whines.
She’s signaling to me. I’m signaling back She’s completely down in a hole.
Let’s start eating while we wait for Micka to return It’s not easy raising a champion.
Listen to her whining. Calling. Crying. Sometimes emotions need to be hidden, just like with children.
If I go pick her up now, if I go find her she’ll always stay and call for me like this, waiting for me I must wait here however long it takes Until she comes back.
That’s how it was with you too, right, boss? Because I never looked for him —
now he’s the one looking for me. If I search for her now, she’ll always be waiting
for me to find her. But I want her to be the one —
the one who does the searching. I stepped on the little axe and got it dirty,
but it’s fine. Works great. Here we have some beets. We’ll prepare the onions here.
Since I’m fasting, I brought fish. I thought there would be much more snow, like I already said. That’s why I thought it would be hard to fry the fish here.
So this time I brought it already cooked. This is carp, and this is hake. Good job, champ!
You almost missed lunch. I heard you the whole time. I heard you chasing,
and I heard you calling for me. I never doubted you’d find us.
Let me get you some water — you must be thirsty. Hey, leave that. That’s not for you. There it is — the roe deer is calling.
He’s close by. He came really close. They’re looking at that piece of fish now. He’s nearby,
but they’ll hear him and start chasing soon. Živko will recognize the call.
Not sure if Milica has learned it yet. Let him be. Let him yell all he wants.
I’m finishing my meal. There’s still plenty of daylight left. But I want to set up the tent on time.
I just can’t see him — he’s calling from somewhere nearby. I don’t think there’s an uglier call in the world. Like you’re the only one with antlers.
Like this is your forest alone. That’s how you act. Keep yelling.
Keep calling the wolves — just not this way. Call them over there. Now that I’ve eaten so well,
it’s time for a coffee. A nice coffee. After coffee, I’ll set up the tent. Živko went down after the roe deer
that was calling here. She hears him, but it looks like she doesn’t want to leave me today.
Right, Milica? Let him go.
He’s experienced. But once he comes back, I’ll have to tie him up. The sun is about to set. So you’re the one jingling, huh?
Alright, I have to tie you up now. No more chasing. Time to clean this up. It got pretty cold.
I was outside, enjoying the moonlight.
It’s a full moon tonight — you can see everything. It even casts my shadow — that’s how bright it is.
The temperature is dropping quickly. There’ll be a solid frost tonight, because it’s totally clear outside.
And when it’s clear — frost is guaranteed. Here’s the pillow. Dry socks. Dry shirt. Good morning! Where’s my handsome boy?
Where’s my beautiful girl? Well, well,
you made yourself a little bed here, huh? My sweet girl —
you went wild with Živko and Milica too! I mainly brought these carpets for Zorica,
so she could sleep on them. But it looks like she doesn’t need them anymore.
And here’s the gentleman himself — Živko, right here.
How do you always manage to untie yourself? You little rascal. It’s really cold. The weather has changed a lot compared to yesterday. My plan for today
is to reach those snowy peaks. And there’s a long road ahead to get there. Where are you going? Hey — you smell the fish, huh? Get back here. I’m heading straight now. I keep going like this — circling, circling,
circling until I reach them over there. It’ll take a lot of time
and a lot of kilometers to cover. No, no, that’s our Micka. Hey, that’s our Živko and Milica.
She’s so jealous when I love on her. She won’t let anyone get close.
Look how they know she’s serious now. So they keep their distance when she’s
in my arms, on my lap. No one dares come near me then. Alright, alright,
It’s okay. I love him more than you, just so you know.
Now go ahead, growl at me. What are these two doing, huh?
Wasting our precious time. There go Micka and Živko — chasing something, side by side just 2 meters apart. Micka is super loud. Looks like this trip awakened
her hunting instincts. Those instincts
she carries in her blood. She’s chasing really well.
I just didn’t see what animal it was. I didn’t get to this position in time.
I’m happy Milica is chasing with Živko, but on the other hand, I’m not. Because now I’ll have to be much more careful. I know she’s waiting for me —
there’s no more sending both of them with me.
It has to be either one or the other. When one of them chases, it lasts half as long
as when they chase together. Listen to her — how she squeals! She really has a shrieky voice. They’re up on that hill. It’s really cold. Now a strong wind has started. We started moving about half an hour ago
toward where I planned, but it’s freezing. Those peaks are over there,
and now they’re covered in thick fog. It’s possible there’s even snow falling there. We got closer,
and we’ll keep moving toward them. But I don’t know how far we’ll get. Looks like snow is about to start falling
before those two make it back. There’s Micka — she came back. Hey! I was freezing waiting for you —
me and Zorica both. And now it started raining.
We’re waiting for Živko, then we’ll move on. Alright, alright, since you’re back… hush.
This was far for you. The peaks are barely visible now.
The wind is picking up, and the rain’s here. It’s freezing, and I think
this will turn into snow. Where’ve you been? Good thing you remembered to come back. Come on. No more chasing anything, please. Whew — it’s freezing. Did we agree?
If I have to wait for you again, you’re getting in the buggy
and no more running. You’ll be grounded. I haven’t filmed the last maybe ten kilometers,
maybe more, because it’s so cold.
My fingers were frozen stiff. Now the clouds and rain have moved to the other side. That’s where we were — up on those peaks. I also put the dogs in the buggy with me.
Here they are, sleeping. Even though they would rather keep running now,
I put them in the buggy because we don’t have much time. Let’s find
a nice spot to have lunch, and then take the fastest and shortest way back home. Here are some horses. Let’s go past them. I see a foal there. I have to be careful.
They’re surely guarding it now. I must not get too close,
so they don’t hit me. I see water here. I don’t know how it will be to get out right here. Where are you, beauties? Let’s try. This is really steep here. Here’s where we came out.
It’s unbelievable. Where else could this climb?
This vehicle is extremely capable. It’s really steep. I’ll come closer to get a better shot. Here’s the road.
We’ll quickly get back on the road now. Here’s another horse. I’m choosing this birch forest
to eat here. Don’t move from there. There’s a lot of wild animals here, like it’s waiting for you. And it’s good I didn’t let Živko loose. I thought about it in time. I stopped here
because of this beautiful birch forest. I didn’t want to let him loose
to chase something and then we’d have to wait for him. Here’s where we stopped, and they heard us when here comes a wild boar
or a pig. But it’s more likely a wild boar. It ran away from us. This fell off it.
It jumped there and climbed up. The tracks are really fresh. And here’s a little flower, trapped in the snow. Wait, I’ll find
one more to surprise our ladies. That’s not for you. Zorka is sleeping soundly and Micka is awake.
Here you go. It’s really cold and the wind is strong.
I’m really hungry, so I’ll eat now, and then take the shortest and quickest way
back home. Here are the first houses down in the valley,
and farther there’s the town. That’s where we live, behind those hills,
in the valley of Ibar and Morava. I wish I could film this place from the air,
but my fingers are literally frozen. There’s no way I could fly the drone now,
and considering how strong the wind is I don’t know how the drone would manage to fly. We’re eating and then heading home. See you in the next adventure.
After snow hit the mountains in the middle of spring, we packed our gear, loaded up the Can-Am, and headed deep into the wilderness.
What started as a peaceful ride with my dogs turned into a true winter adventure — fixing mechanical issues on the trail, chasing wild animals, and discovering hidden snowy peaks.
We set up camp at a scenic overlook, had a big dinner, and spent the night in a tent surrounded by silence and stars.
But in the morning, the weather turned — clouds, wind, and freezing rain brought an entirely different atmosphere.
We climbed even higher, saw wild horses, and finally returned home with full hearts and tired paws.
