真実：ディズニーのオールド・キーウェスト・リゾートがすぐに私たちを迎え入れない理由

Today we are at Old Key West Resort on Disney Vacation Club and there might be a couple reasons why we might not be coming back for a while. Yeah. So stay tuned. We’ll talk about it at the end of the video. [Music] So, we are in room 1210. We’re on the first floor. We got two queen beds. What’s really nice about these Yeah. these old Key West rooms is they are very spacious first. The furnishings are really nice, too. I like the touches. Have you seen this? Wait, what? You the starfish. Oh, and the handles there. And the handles over here, too. And the nightstand. And you got a good size TV as well. Got ourselves a ceiling fan, which is nice. Yeah. Evelyn’s a big fan. Got some cool Disney artwork. And let’s take a look at our bathroom. So, right around the corner, you got a mini fridge. Got a little bit of counter space to put some things. We’re here for a few days. Microwave. And you got some plastic cups and utensils there. The bathroom. Also good size. You got an actual bathtub there like that. And so you got a good good amount of space in the bathroom. And and we brought a lot of stuff with us cuz we’ve been here for a while already. So, it’s nice to have some space under the beds to put some things. And then over between the beds, you got Disney’s little Alexa device there. And then you got a place to charge everything up um with your iPhone and all your tablets and stuff. And you got a little bit of a patio space. We got real nice view of the golf course there. Got a palm tree right here. So everything looks really, really good out here. Really like it. So one of my favorite things about Old Key West is the giant palms. psalms. I think they’re called royal palms, but they are fantastic and really give you that tropical feel here at the resort. Absolutely love it. So, right off the main area, you have Olivia’s, which is a really nice restaurant to go eat at. Oh, they got shrimp and grits. They got shrimp and grits, which is a favorite favorite in this house. Favorite in this house. And then they also have this cute little boardwalk area with another quick service place to eat, which is always nice when you’re coming back from the parks and you just don’t want to bother with going out to eat somewhere in your main stays. Burgers, fries, see anything you like? I feel like I should get a nice fluffy and some Mickey waffles. And most importantly, they have Mickey ice cream bars here. Excellent. And they got some fun outdoor games to play with your kids. Evelyn loved the Connect Four over there. Yeah, just a fun fun atmosphere. And then off to the side you have this gigantic sand castle. That is a slide. I’m going to do it. The theming is super fun. I will say that though for sure. like all the sand castle stuff. And then you do have a little bit of slides and fun things like that for your little ones as well. Let’s check out the general store. So, I’ve been collecting these trucks for the past couple years. So, that is cool. And did we not get you something similar to that? No. We’ve looked at it and I’ve looked at it when I was here in March and we’ve looked at it like a thousand times and I do really still love it. We should get it. We probably should. I love it. I’m not a big Lounge Fly fan just cuz I think they’re always too small, but I do like the pattern on that one. This one. So, this has been like a really long trip for us. So, I thought to bring like the basics like Tylenol and like Motrin and Fllonese and all that stuff, but I didn’t think to bring stuff like a Vix vapor rub or clear eyes or any of those things. This is a really cool area. All this stuff. I mean, it saves you from driving 20, 30 minutes to Walmart or Target or whatever to go buy some meds if you need them. Like, I’m sure it’s a little upcharged, but if you’re in the moment, like, you just need it. So, this is awesome. And this is what I’m talking about. You got a nice little basketball court off to the side here. So, Old Key West is a absolutely huge resort. like I believe there’s over like 50ome units on the grounds here. And so depending on your location, um you will have to drive up to the front if you want to access the restaurants and the the shop and things like that, which leads to a little bit of a problem if you’re located up front. So, one really big drawback for Old Key West for us is the parking. So, our building is way over there and I had to park on the other side beyond the trees over there. Main reason the main pool is just over there. There isn’t a whole lot of pool space for the amount of buildings are here. So, a lot of people are driving up and parking, thus taking up all the parking spaces. So big drawback, parking not the best depending on your location, which our building is right over there. So our second kind of thing we don’t care for very much here at OK West like they do have a small little area for kids, but this is mainly for like like little little ones and for toddlers like we have. It just wasn’t very kid-friendly. The water is like this, but it’s a huge step down into it. So, for like kids like her who are going through their wildly independent phase, like she doesn’t want my help helping her get in, but she needs my help because like it’s meant for you to have like a baby and for you to like step down in. And so, it just wasn’t um toddler friendly. Yeah. So much so that we actually went to Saratoga Springs where one of their pools is a walk-in, the zero entry pools, which is great. And then they had a killer splash pad right next to it and it was just a lot more toddlerish. Yeah. So it this won’t affect a lot of people, but for those that do have kids in that toddler age. Yeah. It made it made it a little hard for us to be at the school. Yeah. It’s it’s a big enough difference though. We wouldn’t come back until at least she was much older. So one other thing, when we first got here, our air conditioner was not working. Oh. Um, but Disney Maintenance got here really quick and got it fixed. But just keep in mind, Old Key West was built in like 1991 92. Like the first phase was 91 and then 92 and then like 93 or four or something. So it’s a it’s an older place. Yeah. So just keep that in mind. So overall, Old Key West is super nice. Love the theming, but the pools is kind of a no-go for us when it especially with having toddlers and I imagine for older people, older couples as well. Yeah.
