The size of the island is the third largest in Okinawa Prefecture, after Okinawa Island and Iriomote Island. In April 2025, the number of tourists exceeded 130,000. By the way, the population is just under 50,000. From Ishigaki Port Remote Island Terminal, you can access popular remote islands such as Iriomote Island and Taketomi Island, so many people enjoy touring the remote islands from Ishigaki Island. Good evening, I’m at Nippori Station now. This time, I’m flying from Narita Airport instead of Haneda Airport. I’m heading to Ishigaki Island. It’s tiring to go from Tokyo to Narita Airport first thing in the morning, so I went to Narita Station the night before and stayed at a hotel near the airport. It takes more than three hours to get to Ishigaki Island, so I ‘ll eat breakfast at the airport before heading out. This time I’m going with Peach . The rainy season ended quite early in Okinawa this year, and it seems to be completely sunny this week. It took more than three hours to get from Narita Airport to Ishigaki Island, but I slept a little, so we arrived in no time. There is an incredibly beautiful view spread out before me. It’s now the fourth week of June and the rainy season is said to be over, but the moment I arrived , I unexpectedly encountered a sudden downpour. I think you can hear the sound, but the amount of precipitation is incredible! It’s clear in the distance so it will probably clear up while we’re eating, so our first stop is Gourmet. Ishigaki Island has a town (downtown?) near the remote island terminal, where there are a row of restaurants and souvenir shops and it is quite prosperous. Our first stop is Euglena Mall in the town. After driving for a while, the atmosphere becomes very Ishigaki Island- like. We ‘ve almost arrived. This area is so prosperous that it’s hard to believe we’re on a remote island. New buildings are also increasing rapidly. We have now reached the area around our destination. This street is extremely prosperous so if you’re traveling to Ishigaki Island I recommend staying at a hotel around here. We can see Euglena Mall. For now this parking lot is fine, but it’s expensive so it’s always empty ! I’m glad the rain has stopped. If you go straight in, you’ll find it. I’ve arrived at my destination. I’ve arrived at Ishigaki City’s Ishigaki City Public Market. The first floor here is like a food court, and you can enjoy the gourmet food of various shops. And on the second floor there is a souvenir shop. This place sells a lot of souvenirs like this. I was given permission to go to the second floor, so I’ll introduce it quickly. Then I’ll have the long-awaited lunch time. It looks like I can eat freshly fried ones, so I’ll enjoy the specialty first . Can I have one with 6 pieces? I bought a bag of salted sata andagi . It’s 6 pieces for 600 yen. It looks really delicious. What’s the difference between salted and plain? They say they knead Ishigaki salt into the dough (it’s really good). In fact, it’s so delicious that I come here every time lol. So I’m going to try it . It’s delicious, even if you know it’s delicious! I ordered the spicy mixed soba and juicy set. The simple Yaeyama soba is also delicious, but this time I’ll have the mixed soba. In addition to cash, I can pay with PayPay or a transportation IC. You can use credit cards. Wait for about 1 minute (lol). Looks delicious. The gloss of the juicy is very shiny. I ended up coming here again this year. The one on the right is juicy, the one on the left is “spicy soba” and there are only three salted sata andagi . I ‘ll start my trip to Ishigaki Island by eating here. Normally, if it was my third time, I would look for another restaurant, but I keep coming back to this market with its mysterious charm. I’ll start with the juicy. I’ve been hooked on juicy since my first trip to Okinawa. Next is the spicy mazesoba. However, if you’re coming for the first time, I recommend the simple Yaeyama soba (the broth is really delicious). It’s a delicious and spicy mazesoba that even people who don’t like spicy food can enjoy. The juicy disappeared in an instant. The andagi after the juicy and mazesoba was also great. I recommend the salted andagi and spicy mazesoba (there are other shops as well). I feel like there are more people here than last time (it seems to be more in July to September). Today, I had gourmet time at two stores in a row. And the sunlight is already completely different from before . Look, the blue sky . The sudden downpour from earlier is now so clear it’s hard to believe. Finally, this is my third trip to Ishigaki Island and the first time I’ve had clear skies. I decided to go for gourmet food and then gourmet food , and this is the restaurant I went to, Vanilla Deli. I’ll have a hamburger with an amazing avocado and wasabi sauce. You can pay by cash or other means. And finally, it ‘s the avocado and wasabi burger. Last time, I ate it on the last day, but this time I’ll be eating it from the first day. This patty is grilled after the order is placed, so you can enjoy freshly grilled meat. The wasabi sauce from the avocado is really the best. The road is like this and is generally very wide, so it’s very easy to drive. If you go in this direction, you’ll reach Okanzaki. If you climb 600m from here, you’ll find the lighthouse. The view beyond the lighthouse is spectacular . It’s a sunny day today, so I thought the view would be amazing, and then I arrived at Okanzaki Lighthouse. You can see a beautiful view from this lighthouse, which is located on a cliff. The lighthouse is at the end of the cliff, but the view is already amazing at this point. Look, this view of the ocean. Let’s buy some water before we go. Drink water frequently , or you’ll collapse. This is Okinawa- only, so Gentle soft water, amazing water, delicious sky , blue , a lonely lighthouse in the completely blue sky, way back here , you climb up one flight of stairs and go through the grass , a slightly narrow path, what’s amazing at the end of the grass , wow, on a clear day, it’s so bright, so it’s better to wear polarised sunglasses, the view looks better with sunglasses, they reduce reflections, it’s amazing, the unique terrain, this place is amazing but what’s even more amazing from here onwards the road gets a bit rough (watch out for the thorny leaves), this side too , it’s amazing it’s best to see it with your naked eyes, this is what 360 degrees looks like, I bought a new camera so it’s fun to take pictures, I remember this place, this narrow path , oh, the grass has really grown so far, I guess I can’t go, ouch! It’s terrible, it’s worse than last year, the leaves have grown longer than last year and are prickly so it hurts when they hit your arms, we got through the really prickly leaf zone and arrived at a spot with a great view, it might be dangerous if you’re not wearing long sleeves and long pants, sturdy clothes, but somehow it’s worse than the last time I came here The wind is not strong (calm). There is no wind at all this time . I wonder if it’s because the rainy season is over, or maybe the wind is weak. I want to come here about twice a year. The sunset here looks good. Thank you, Okanzaki. Next is Fruit Land? Ishigaki Fruit Land. At Ishigaki Island Fruit Land near the lighthouse mentioned earlier, we had cut fruit and mango gelato. First of all, pineapple . There are 6 types of mango gelato, and I chose apple mango and Kinki mango gelato. The apple mango gelato was sweet and delicious, so I recommend it. Ah, it was delicious . It’s really hot outside, but the sea in the back is really beautiful (I want to take my time to look at it). Ishigaki Fruit Land. Next, we’ll go to a very popular spot on Ishigaki Island. It’s just the right time . This is amazing. That back left, back left, really light blue . 4km left until our next destination . Everything on Ishigaki Island is close, so it’s really easy to go sightseeing, which is great. Ishigaki Island is a slightly small remote island that can be driven from one end to the other in about an hour and a half (but it’s not small lol). Depending on the area you go to , you can enjoy a variety of scenery. Next, we arrived at Kabira Bay. Parking lot . I wonder if it’s empty. It’s 3:30pm now . I wonder if it’s empty at 3:30pm (there don’t seem to be any group tours). The parking lot here doesn’t accept cash, so you can use transportation IC cards, PayPay, or credit cards. It’s unusual, isn’t it? On the other hand, it doesn’t accept cash. I ‘m here again this year. Kabira Bay has been awarded three stars in the Michelin Guide and is one of the most spectacular spots on Ishigaki Island. This nostalgic feeling . It’s been a year since I’ve seen Kabira Park. It’s pretty hot, so I’ll start sightseeing from the observation deck, which has a lot of shade . I’ll buy some water again. I have to drink a bottle of water every time I go around a tourist spot, otherwise I’ll get dehydrated . 120 yen. They’re very reasonable. It’s so blue. It’s so blue (my second time). Every time I’ve come to Kabira Bay , it’s cloudy or rainy, so this time might be the first time in my life that I’m seeing Kabira Bay in its true form . This feeling of being able to see through the gaps is amazing. It

Then , we can see the parking lot. Apparently high tide is at 7pm today. It’s now 4:30pm. There’s only two and a half hours until high tide, so I’m not sure if I can walk, but I’ll take a look anyway. We’ve reached Nagura Amparu. This is a brackish water area where the sea and river water mix, and you can see all kinds of creatures. It’s a little close to high tide, so I’m not sure what to expect, but I’ll go anyway. It ‘s so hot, so I’ll wrap a towel around my hat and go fully protected. Oh, it’s nice. I’m scared that snakes might show up in this humid shade . I might have said the same thing last year. The last time I came here, it was low tide… I wonder if it was low tide . The tide had already gone out quite a bit. It ‘s a bit too hot and I’m worried I’ll get heatstroke, so I’ll check into the hotel, take a shower, rest, and then have dinner. It’s a twin room. It’s pretty reasonable. It was less than 30,000 yen for two people for three nights (Mr.KINJO GRAND CATS) . I found a very reasonable place (Mr.KINJO GRAND CATS) Well , you can faintly see the Southern Gate Bridge and the ocean. It ‘s close to the city center and the remote island terminal, so it’s quite easy to get to. It’s really beautiful. I think it was recently built. This time I’m staying in this room for all three nights. I basically only spend time in the hotel to take a bath and sleep, so this is the perfect hotel. It also has a freezer and refrigerator, which is great . There’s even a microwave ! It’s really good, it’s a firm , just right bed. I’m feeling all tired. It may have been a surprisingly hard day. Today was fun, though. And, by the way, my backpack has changed. In fact, it has been changed to a new backpack. It has become a very large-capacity backpack. This time, I was given a job by Tomtoc. This time, I was thinking about getting a new backpack, so I accepted this job . This product is the Tomtoc-T66 travel backpack. It is sure to be very useful when traveling or on a business trip. It has a large capacity and is easy to put in and take out. This time, I was traveling to Ishigaki Island, so I brought swimsuits and equipment for activities, so I ended up using a carry-on case + backpack, but if you have minimal luggage such as clothes, a computer, and cosmetics, it is a large-capacity backpack that has more space. It looks quite large, but it is the size that can be carried on an airplane. The zipper part is a YKK zipper that is easy to open. It’s easy to close and there’s no need to worry about it breaking. You can put your computer in and close it over here. It can be opened sideways, so it’s great for taking things out or taking them out when you’re traveling. I’ve been using this backpack a lot while sightseeing, so I’ve been putting a shoulder bag inside it (large capacity). If you’re traveling with equipment or have a lot of luggage, you’ll probably end up traveling with a suitcase in addition to this, but this is attached here. They have a platter and it was great that you can order each piece individually. Looks delicious. Ishigaki beef sushi. Tonight I luxuriously enjoyed some meat sushi. Next was the Okinawa specialty, fried gurkun. It was very delicious! Unlike fried small fish, it was more like grilled fish where you only eat the flesh rather than eating the whole thing and enjoying the crispy texture. Next, I had shiitake mushrooms. It was delicious. It’s been a while since I’ve had sweet potato and lotus root tempura, and it really touched my heart. Shrimp tempura is the best. Sushi is really good, it’s delicious . Before I knew it, the sun had set and I wanted to see the sunset, but it was already setting. I want to see a really beautiful sunset while I’m on Ishigaki Island. And it’s still pretty late, it’s 8pm. I’m going to take a stroll around the town at night . I’m going to stroll around near the remote island terminal. This area is crowded with people until late at night. It is often fully booked due to temporary closures or reservations, so I think it’s better to make a reservation in advance at the first store and look for the second store while walking around. It’s completely different at night. My second Genki Shake of the day. I’m drinking two shakes in one day. Of course I’ll drink one tomorrow too .
