The closest station to the wineries in the Hatsunuma area is Katsunuma Budobashikyo Station on the JR Chuo Main Line, but it is about 3 km away from Kuruma Mercian. I walked there, but it was really exhausting, so I recommend using the bus that runs in the Katsunuma area along the mountains. However, this bus only runs a few times a day, so get on the train according to the bus time. As shown here, on weekdays, take the bus from Enzan Station, and on weekends, take the bus from Katsunuma Budobashikyo Station in Shuku Ward, and get off at the bus stop called Abe Iinmae, and you will be right next to Kuruma Mercian on the road. Or take a taxi from the station. The wineries I visited this time were Chameleon Katsunuma Jizo Grace Wine, which won five awards in the Japan Winery Awards 2025. I also visited Kuruma-san, which was on the way to Chameleon. Good morning. I am now on the platform at JR Takao Station. I would like to go to Katsunuma Budokyo Station today and tour the wineries. At the very back of the station, there is a Tengu float. Because Takao-san is close. [Music] There is an express train called Azusa for Yamanashi , but it doesn’t stop at Katsunuma Budobashi Station, so I’ll take a local train. It’s a little over an hour from Takao Station. Let’s go! I was planning to have something to eat for breakfast when I arrived at Katsunuma Budokyo, but there was nothing there at all. I asked the tourist information center and they told me that there is a bakery at Shato Katsunuma, so I decided to make Shato Katsunuma my first destination. It is a 1.3 km walk to Shato Katsunuma. I didn’t know that I would be exhausted after this, so I started walking. All around me was grape fields. Takedokyo is as its name suggests. [music] As you can see Katsunuma Lake, there is a vacant lot on the left. It seems that a Marriott Group hotel will be built here. It is scheduled to open in 2028, and the brand has not yet been decided, but it is said that it will be Fairfield. It seems that it was originally a vineyard in Katsunuma Lake, and it is a vineyard in the Google Maps photo. [Music] Katsunuma Lake has a parking lot for tourist buses and is a souvenir shop for the area. There are many free wine scenes, and I was able to taste two types of wine. There is also a large wine factory, and when the Marriott Hotel opens, it will become a tourist base for the area. [Music] It is 2 km from Katsunuma Lake to Chameleon Lake, a 26-minute walk. It is a winery of a major wine manufacturer. [Music] The place where you can buy and shoot wine is not very large, but it is a very stylish building. There is a vineyard in the back.
