James Bond Island Tour / Thailand / Kayaking /Floating Village / Temples

Adventures with Angela and Wayne are up early this morning. Good morning everyone and we are off today to James Bond Island. Woo! Another tour on top of yesterday’s awesome tour to the Silon Islands. Guy’s going to pick us up. It’s about half 7 just after. Uh we’re going to try and squeeze some breakfast in at the resort so that we’ve lined our stomach at least for the journey. Uh I’ve only got a small slot about half hour or so. First breakfast here. So tried to get it on camera. Although tomorrow if we have more of a restful breakfast we’ll be able to get even more on camera.
Oh exciting.
Yeah. Lovely. Look
it is so pretty. Look, I’ve got to take a photo. It’s so nice. So, the hotel restaurant comes up trumps again. I got to be quick. We got 10 minutes before we smoothies are awesome, aren’t they? No. Want to live here. Been a bit healthy this morning. Yogurt and fruit to start. Yogurt and fruit to start.
And then we’ve got the egg and bacon. Um yeah, it’s coming out absolutely awesome. We decided to order some fruit. We like to start with fruit if we can. Um and then something a little bit uh yeah, less healthy. The food is absolutely awesome here. Honestly, so nice. ordered your smoothie. What you got?
This is a blueberry one. Oh, it does look nice. Look at that. They are so thick. They are light ice cream. Look, that was my one. That’s mine.
So lovely. Enjoy. Wow.
Look at that.
Scrambled egg and bacon, French toast, and fruit. Yum. Eggs in a hot pan. This is called displayed. Very very nice. So, I think it was the last pickup this time on this trip. Um, it’s full up. James Bond Island. Here we go. So, we’ve arrived at wherever uh the national park. I think it’s uh Fang Naga. probably pronounced it wrong. The sign’s there.
National Park sign. He wants the sign.
Oh, right. Mangrove Cafe. Fanny MGA. Um, it’s a bit of a mixture of an itinerary, boat trips, floating villages, James Bond Island, uh, temple I think today. So, yeah, quite quite a long day. three or four different activities to do.
Uh scenery looks quite nice. I can see water just over here. It’s
really nice up.
Yeah, beautiful national park. It’s kept really well. We’re just heading out onto the pier now. Uh going on the boat. Don’t know what type of boat.
Have everybody look at the picture here and have everyone look at the picture here.
We’re going to make three stop for you in the bay here. The first stop going to be this one is mean island
like taloo island we we’re going to go here for cano 12 kilome from here to get there that mean we take around like 15 20 minutes to get there but the location on the way go is very beautiful Morning. So, it’s quite a small group this trip. Lot smaller than the Silon Islands trip that we done yesterday. Everyone seems quite nice actually. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] We’ve arrived at the kayaking spot. See the views through there. Absolutely awesome. Better than Han Bay. Really lovely. You okay? All good?
Yeah, all good.
Hello.
How are you? Hello.
I’m good. You?
Yeah. Thank you. Where’s your from?
We’re from England. England. Uh, what’s your name?
Ramad. Ramadom. Ramadom.
Ramadom. Ramadom. Dom.
Oh, look. There’s monkeys. Cheeky monkey.
See monkey
looking for food.
Oh, look at them. Look, look, look.
Plenty of monkeys over here. Look. Yeah. Nice little trip through the mangroves. Very hot. I’m nervous. I’m scared. No, no touch now. Don’t touch. Don’t touch. Be careful. Yeah, I know. Don’t worry. Me and Z. Okay. Okay. Okay. Don’t worry. I’m laying down.
Oh my gosh. I’m scared. I’m laying down. Oh my god. Woo.
You are amazing.
Yeah. Amazing. Amazing. Oh my god. This is unreal. Oh wow.
What do you have to say?
That was low. Look
at that. VIB. Hey, how are you? Oh, this is so
This is open to the elements. How come this come mini version of Emerald Cave? I
think we’re going back through. We got to go back. Think we going back through.
Lay down. Oh gosh. Wow. Wow. That is unreal.
It’s tight through there.
That was
Oh, big noise. Be careful.
Yeah, exactly. Look. Be careful if you got a big nose. I’ve got no chance. I think I trimmed a couple of inches off of it. Oh, nice. Awesome. We got a comedian driver.
Yeah. Oh, we go through this one.
No, [Laughter] you did say if the tide was right, we should go through that. If the tide’s not right, we can’t go through.
Oh, really? Is that good honeymoon? Uh, hope so. Too many children. We have so many children in here. Second second honeymoon. No kids.
No kids.
No kids. No children.
Oh no.
It’s very pretty. Yeah.
So we’re on second honeymoon. Said too many children already.
Really? me. Proper comedian. Bless him. It’s very peaceful.
Yeah, it’s really peaceful.
Very peaceful through here. Chill out and put your legs over the side. You’re not swimming. You don’t swim. [Music] Very stable canoes.
Yeah. Very, very good.
Yeah.
Nothing to worry about for you.
Very good.
Yeah. So, our wonderful guide has made this beautiful heart. Very clever.
What about this?
Ah, yep. Okay. Uh, okay. Yay. Hello, UK. [Music] Looks like we have a cave coming up here. [Music] [Music] I see. Uhuh. Yeah. Silicone.
Silicone island. Silicone island. Present [Music] from the driver. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] So, we are on the infamous James Bond Island. It’s not called James Bond Island. It’s called something else, obviously. But they filmed The Man with the Golden Gun in 1974 here. Um, don’t know what bit they used. I’d have to look at the film again, I suppose. Interesting. So, that’s the real name of the island, Coing Kan. Not James Bond Island.
Oh, us westerners call it James Bond Island. The man with a golden gun. Filmed in 1974 with Roger Mo. There you go. Nice rock formations. This is amazing. So, the tour guide said that we can go for a swim if we want in the water cuz the tide’s in. He said if it’s out, a lot of stingrays nest in the sand and you obviously don’t want to get stung by one of those. Uh the tide’s in, we don’t fancy it. Uh we’ve done plenty of swimming yesterday. Um but I’ll show you the beachy area if you fancy a swim. We have a film set going on at the moment. [Music] Now What is that? So, you get to walk through the island. It’s 10 minutes. There’s plenty of viewing spots for the rock in the middle of the sea, obviously, the famous rock. Um, yeah, you can get some good photographs and stuff. Quite awesome, actually. Uh, meet the boat on the other side then of the island. There’s a small beach. You’ll see here the tides in. So, shoes off time, I think. Walk through the water for our next trip. So, now leaving James Bond Island. Uh, I think we’re going to the floating village now. Met some lovely people. Hola, everyone.
Chatting away. [Music] Safely arrived at the floating village. Tom’s going to take us through the village. Need to walk through with him for whatever reason. Sure, it’s not dangerous or anything, but um I don’t know when you’re getting lost or intruding. So, it’s mainly Muslims that live on the island. They moved here from Indonesia about 200 years ago, settled. The island’s not really floating. It’s all on stilts. Uh, and the guide was explaining the only floating bit is a floating football pitch. Um, apparently it was on telly in the UK. Don’t remember seeing the show. You may do. Put your comments below. So the main industry here early days was fishing. Uh they obviously fished and sold the fish to the mainland I suppose. Uh it’s now tourism. Um I think the guide was explaining that there’s 2,000 people that live on the islands. Uh but only 500 jobs I believe. I’m not sure.
Um yeah, lots of shops. [Music] That’s the Muslim Sunday school. The guide was explaining that there is a school on the island that the children go to and then they go there on a Sunday for their uh religion. I’m just walking through one of these little tiny back streets at the moment. [Music] Oh, they got me these ones. Look, there [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] All right. Thank you. Lunch was quite nice actually. More than edible. Some chicken, prawns, rice. Um, nice and fresh. They’re cooking for a lot of people in there. Bit Angela enjoyed hers. Thumbs up. It’s good. Looks good.
Back onto the boat. It’s a little fun. It’s fine. [Music] Temple visit next. Angela’s all rugged up. So, uh, yeah, temple visit. Yeah. [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Music] Nice to go inside the actual cave of the temple. Uh the guide was actually explaining that the cave isn’t the temple. It’s the whole area that’s the temple. This whole region. Um, it’s not a royal temple. A lot of the big temples, the royals sort of fund and look after. It’s a public one. So, the people in the local area look after this temple. Um, and yeah, ladies need to sort of cover up most of the time, especially when they go into the cave. I was explaining how the whole area is the temple and not just the cave.
Just the cave. Yeah.
Uh, quite good to see. Monkeys are a little bit cheeky there. You see, uh, robbing people’s food. Perhaps they shouldn’t be feeding them bananas.
No. What the guide was saying is don’t encourage them by giving them food because then they rely on it and they should be more wild animals. Um because then they come up to the tourists a lot more and just want to scrouch food off them. That’s all they’re interested in. They’re not interested in anything else but robbing your food. But really, they should be wild.
Yeah. So they want your bag. You give them a banana, but they want what else you got in the bag.
Yeah. Um, so there’s lots of signs back there saying don’t feed the monkeys. And then we’ve just come to an area where there’s shops here and it says feed the monkeys and they’re selling bags of bananas and whatever else. [Music] Are you okay? [Music] There’s a lot of monkeys. There’s more birds than monkeys, though. So, the monkeys are really cherry-picking. Bit of banana throw on the floor. Um, they’re giving them boiled eggs. They’re eating the yolk out of the eggs and leaving the white and the birds are going in and eating the white bit. Uh I mean you can see how many monkeys there is up here. Look at them all. Thousands and thousands on the rocks. So due to background music, I’ve just done a quick voice over to explain what we’re saying. So we’ve gone to our favorite restaurant, Kolac country in Kolac. So Wayne was asking me to explain what I ordered and tonight I ordered a tuna salad as I was being really healthy and Wayne has ordered a steak and chips dinner. One of his favorite and he’s been craving it all day.
What have you ordered?
Cocoa fever. What’s he like? a dessert come cocktail. [Music] Very good. So, this is the end of the Philippines/T Thailand vlogs, but follow us along for more adventures. Our next one is Ireland.

Let us introduce ourselves, we are a maturer adventure travel couple, who after meeting at school, becoming young parents, living off of budgets and raising our children to have fun and adventures too, we then become empty nesters. Then realising that life is too short, we decided to go and experience adventures, whilst we can, before we slow down.

In this episode of our latest trip, we orginally went to the Philippines and after it going wrong ( go back and watch for the full story ) we then ended up in Thailand.
This is the last episode in this series of Thailand. We head out to James Bond Island on a tour, before we get there we experience a kayaking trip and we also go to a temple, and floating village, we recommend the tour it was fun.
