🥩Delicious Tokyo Eats🍣 – Find out what to eat on your Tokyo adventure!
I came to Ginza at night. With limited time in Tokyo, I carefully planned out the restaurants I wanted to visit, so I could enjoy as much delicious food as possible. The thing I wanted to eat most was delicious yakiniku! This restaurant serves carefully selected Saga beef. I love that you can order just the parts you like. And you can grill everything at your own pace, just how you like it. It makes the experience much more relaxed and enjoyable. Since I love Japanese sweet potatoes, I ordered those too. If short ribs feel a bit too fatty, I recommend going for skirt steak (harami) instead. Adding a little bit of wasabi makes it even more delicious. Wrapping the meat in lettuce gives it a refreshing balance. Grilled offal can cause big flames when it’s too fatty! The strong ventilation kept the smoke under control — very thoughtful. That was such a fantastic meal — true wagyu quality from Saga. Now we’re in Shimbashi, bustling with office workers after work. This is one of my favorite night spots in Tokyo. I came here for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. You can get authentic Hakata-style pork bone broth here. Just across the street is the famous Ichiran, but… I was drawn to the nostalgic, street-stall vibe of this spot. The creamy broth was incredibly tasty and satisfying. If one bowl isn’t enough, don’t hesitate to order extra noodles! Shinbashi is also lively at night. Next up, I visited a tonkatsu (pork cutlet) restaurant. Each bowl of rice is steamed individually — so fragrant and inviting. While waiting for the rice, they serve a fresh salad first. I went with the shrimp cutlet this time. It’s timed perfectly with the freshly cooked rice in the clay pot. It was packed with juicy shrimp — delicious! And the pork had such rich flavor — you could taste the quality. Prices are a bit on the higher side for tonkatsu at dinner… …but they offer a great-value lunch, limited to 20 servings daily. Now I’m at Ueno Seiyoken in Ginza, a long-established Western-style restaurant. The main store is in Ueno, but this one is inside Matsuya Ginza. Everything was tasty, but the seafood curry was especially fantastic. Enjoyed by 3 generations of family Today I came to Ginza for lunch. There are still so many dishes I want to try from my list. Eel, sushi, Italian, tempura, oyakodon… so many still left untouched. But next up — grilled sea eel (anago)! Anago is one of my favorite sushi toppings. I’ve wanted to visit this place for ages. The Kaiseki lunch course begins with a salad. Grilled white anago — light and flavorful. Tempura with anago and seasonal vegetables. This is the a la carte box — with both simmered and grilled anago. The course menu includes just one simmered piece. You can add condiments like green onion, wasabi, sesame, or yuzu. A little yuzu zest on the eel brings out the aroma. It was so good — I finished it all in no time. Now I’ve arrived at Haneda Airport Terminal 3. If you ran out of time for food sightseeing — good news! Haneda Airport is a hidden foodie gem! Even here, you can enjoy sashimi that’s this fresh. Thick slices of red snapper — so satisfying. The wooden decor gives it such a Japanese feel — I love it. It was closing time, so I had to wrap things up. Time for one last bowl of ramen. Almost every time I’m at Haneda, I come here for this ramen. There’s often a line, but… turnover is fast, so you usually don’t wait long. My last meal in Tokyo was breakfast the next day. Let’s visit one last spot before leaving. Few places open early, but this one’s a reliable choice. A real lifesaver when you’re craving a final bite. This place serves top-quality sushi. My final meal — tuna and sea eel, my favorites. Look at all those shrimp heads — amazing flavor in the broth. Open 24/7 — thank you so much!
