【東南アジアひとり旅】 タイ総集編 | バンコク3泊4日でマッサマンカレーやガパオを食べたり散歩したり | Travel in Southeast Asia

From here, we boarded a bus bound for Bangkok. The bus departed at 7:45. Most of my travel companions were from Europe and America . I took a lot of long-distance buses on this trip, and there were a lot of Europeans and Americans on board. I guess it was popular. We took a break about two hours after we departed. It had the familiar Cambodian countryside atmosphere. The bus continued on and arrived at the border town of Poipet. Here we went through immigration on the Cambodian side. When you enter Cambodia, you are not allowed to take photos inside the building, but the tour guide on the bus told me that it would be better to close the camera from the outside, so I refrained from taking photos just in case. Behind us was the Cambodian border. It seems that sometimes security guards confiscate cameras and take them away, so I did so just to be careful. In front of us is the border gate of Aranyaprathet, Thailand. The building already looks Thai, doesn’t it? This was my first time walking across the border. When I crossed from Vietnam to Cambodia, I stayed on the bus. After immigration, I entered Thailand. We got back on the bus and headed to Bangkok . It probably took about 3-4 hours to get there. We could see the city of Bangkok, it had a very urban atmosphere. We arrived in Bangkok at 6:30pm. I guess the bus arrived around Khaosan. This town is famous for backpackers. Including immigration, it took about 11 hours to get there . We arrived at the hotel at 7:10pm. There was a really cool doorman. But this doorman didn’t seem to be interested in opening the door for us, he looked sleepy. We stayed in Bangkok for a total of 4 nights, the first 2 nights were at this hotel called Rest Bangkok, and the remaining 2 nights were at a different hotel. We took a short break in the lounge on the first floor and then went to eat dinner. Bangkok has an urban atmosphere, but this kind of mixed atmosphere is also nice and makes it feel like Southeast Asia. We walked about one block and decided to eat dinner at this shopping center called Terminal 21. For dinner, we decided to eat yakiniku at this place called Barbecue Plaza that we found on Google Maps . Today was a long journey, so I decided to eat some meat to cheer myself up. They brought me something like a Genghis Khan hotpot, and soup, but I didn’t know how to do it, so the waiter did it all for me. They were so kind. I thought it was ready, but they poured the soup on top like this, so I think it’s more like a dish called Moogata than yakiniku. I wanted to try Moogata, so I was glad to kill two birds with one stone . Good morning. I had traveled a long distance from Cambodia the day before, so when I woke up, it was past noon. This hotel had a terrace outside like this and had a very nice atmosphere. I came to Bangkok to shoot a music video before, and I would like to visit the places I visited there and the places I wanted to go but couldn’t go at the time. At 1:45, I called a motorbike taxi with Grab and started moving. My first destination was Santa Cruz Church. It’s amazing how motorbikes can slip through such small gaps. It was quite thrilling. I think the temperature was probably close to 35° at the time, but it felt great to cut through the wind on my motorbike. I left the old town and arrived in Chinatown . It was amazing, I felt like I was suddenly in China. I’ve never been to China, but I came to a church, but it wasn’t open. I asked the church staff, and they said that there was a mass on that day, and that the church would open at 5pm, so I should come again. Santa Cruz Church means Holy Cross, and it was the first church, a wooden church, built in 1770. What you see now was rebuilt in 1916. After visiting the church, I headed to Khao San Road. I didn’t go to Khao San Road last time I came to Bangkok, so this is my first time . I came to Khao San Road. It seems to have originally been a backpacker’s mecca, but I wonder if it’s become quite a tourist spot now. I’ve been to Bangkok before, but I’ve never been here, so I thought I’d wander around for a bit. By the way, Khao San is famous for McDonald’s. I just passed by it. This sign says no parking, but there’s a lot of parking. Is it okay to park? I just woke up today and will go for breakfast. Should I go to a gapao restaurant? This kind of local food stall has its own taste, too. I think I’ll eat gapao at this food stall today. I ordered gapao rice on a whim and they’re making it now. It looks really delicious. They’re very efficient and the gapao rice is ready in no time. I told them to cook the egg through, but it seems that they didn’t get that . The gapao rice was really delicious. I told them not to make it too spicy, but it was pretty spicy. I’m staying at the Kingstone Suites Hotel for the next two days, and it has a colonial style and a very beautiful exterior. I’ll check in and go for a walk. When I get on a bus or public transportation, I feel like I can experience the lives of the people who live there, so I like it. My first destination for the day is Pratunam, so I got on a bus to Pratunam. The person wearing the blue clothes you see now is the conductor, and when I get on the bus, this person comes up to me and tells me where I’m going, and it seems to be a system where he tells me how much it costs. There are food stalls like this, but the road I’m walking on is very close to the stalls. After wandering around Pratunam Market, I decided to go out for dinner again. I arrived at Krua Aroi Aroi, a Massaman curry restaurant that was introduced by CNN International as a delicious dish . It was really beautiful with lots of ingredients. The Ga Bao rice I had for breakfast was also very delicious , but this curry was just as delicious . I walked around a little and saw a monkey. I’m sure the fortune teller had this monkey. There was a coffee shop so I’ll buy some coffee. I came yesterday but it was closed on Mondays so I’ll go to the Bangkok Art & Culture Center. I’m going inside. This is what the inside of the Bangkok Art & Culture Center, which I’ve been wanting to go to, looks like. I think they were holding an exhibition by a Myanmar photographer at the time. There were many floors and it was worth seeing. The building itself has an unusual cylindrical structure, and it was really fun just looking at the architecture. I finished the tour and went outside. The area around Siam has a very urban atmosphere. It was completely different from the neighboring country of Cambodia . I’ll go shopping at MBK and go home . I need to buy some shampoo. I went to Icon Siam and Siam Discovery, but those areas were not much different from Japanese department stores, and there was nothing particularly interesting there. The shops inside were also not much different from those in Japan. In the end, the drugstore in MBK did not have anything like a one-day shampoo, so I gave up and went back to the hotel. I was getting a feel for the area, and this is MBK where I had just shopped at the drugstore, and this is Siam Discovery, which I had a quick look at, and the hotel is over there . I’m going to have breakfast at a restaurant near the hotel, and it seems to have some delicious places. I also looked up a taco restaurant, so I’d like to go there too. I’ll have tacos after all. Hello. In the end, I went to a taco restaurant, not the one I had looked up before, but because I was attracted by the menu. It seems to serve not only tacos, but all kinds of Mexican food. I arrived at Sukhumvit Station on the MRT Blue Line and took it to Chinatown . I arrived in Chinatown. Photography was prohibited on the subway, so I don’t have a video, but I arrived in Chinatown without any incident. I’m going to wander around a bit now. I’ve arrived at the main street of Thai Na Town. I think I’ll go around the whole area now. I was walking around the city and the neon caught my eye, so I decided to go in. I wonder if this restaurant mainly serves shark fin and bird’s nest? I ordered neither shark fin nor bird’s nest, but fried rice . I ate fried rice here. It was very delicious. Now, I will continue my walk. It’s too hot today. I think it’s the hottest day of this trip. I see a temple over there, so I’ll walk there. The Chinese writing “liquor store” looks like a hotel. After walking around Chinatown, I took a motorbike taxi to a place called Long 1919. Chinatown, which I walked through earlier. It looks even more crowded from the road . I arrived at Long 1919. This place was originally used as a trading base by Chinese merchants in the 1850s . It was originally a dock for merchant ships. I spent a very relaxing time at Long 1919. Unfortunately, there used to be many more shops and spaces where you could shop, but I guess it’s probably because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the shops were closed, but I still really liked the atmosphere here, so I bought some drinks and relaxed. I returned to Bangkok city, or rather, I am walking back to the hotel in Bangkok city . Tonight is the last night of this trip across Asia . It’s been two weeks that seem long but are actually very short. It’s gone by so quickly. I ‘m a little sad that the trip is over, but I’d like to go to a new country next time.
