Summer Aso solo trip. Welcome. Final check before leaving Suita IC on Meishin Expressway . No problem. Let’s start. I will explain the route from your current location to your destination. From Osaka, drive about 600km via Shikoku. First, head to Sadamisaki Peninsula. I will take you in front of the screen to the magnificent view of Aso. Now, please enjoy your two-day solo trip. Drive about 380km on the highway in one go. Dawn is breaking. Leave Matsuyama Expressway Iyo Interchange. Good job. About 7 hours after departure, take a ferry from Ehime Prefecture to Oita Prefecture. National Route 94 Ferry The sailing time to Oita Prefecture is 70 minutes. Say goodbye to Shikoku and head to Kyushu! Arrival in Kyushu. Landing in Kyushu Oita Prefecture We have safely landed in Kyushu, so let’s have lunch. Drive 5.5km from Saganoseki Port. The weather is good and the seaside is great. We have arrived. I ordered a popular chicken sandwich at the seaside cafe, Hungry Monster . My stamina is back to 100%. Now we’re heading to Aso! We’re heading for Daikanbo. It’s about 100km to Daikanbo. During the break, we had ice cream and canned coffee that are only available in Kyushu. We’re heading for Daikanbo via the Milk Road. My hometown is Fukuoka Prefecture in Kyushu. When I was still a young teenager, I got my motorcycle license and the first place I went to was “Daikanbo”. Daikanbo is the starting point where I discovered the joy of motorcycles. It’s a wonderful place no matter when you go. We’re heading for Daikanbo while enjoying the Milk Road. A sign for “Daikanbo” Just a little further to Daikanbo. Daikanbo Sunrise Viewpoint We’re going to Daikanbo Observatory. It’s a popular spot for Kyushu touring. We apply for aerial photography at the shop. We filled in the date, name, and address and received permission to take aerial photos. Drone reception. People live in one of the world’s largest calderas. It’s a beautiful summer view. We’re heading to the campsite where we’ll be staying tonight. We drive about 30km from Daikanbo. It’s the final sprint to the campsite in Minamiaso City. We arrived at the campsite. The distance from the starting point to the campsite was about 605km. Good job to myself. We will stay in a mini bungalow. Minamiaso Power Spot Campsite. The fee is 2500 yen. It’s like a secret base. Cheers. Raw horse meatToday was a very fulfilling day. Tomorrow, we will drive from Minamiaso to Yufudake.
