While I was saying that, we arrived at… Roadside Station Nagaoka Fireworks Museum in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. It’s a pretty large complex with souvenirs, restaurants, and a fireworks museum . We took a look inside the fireworks museum. It was fun to see a model of Nagaoka city and the history of Nagaoka fireworks , as well as a fireworks game using a large screen. It’s about 60km from Nagaoka to Niigata city, and it takes about an hour and a half on the back roads. Let’s enjoy a leisurely drive. We can see the hotel that will take us into Niigata city. Today I’m heading to Yamagata . From here , I’ll take it easy on the back roads, which are about 200km from my destination, the inn . “Roadside Station Toyosaka” in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture. This is known as the birthplace of roadside stations, and it was designated as the first roadside station in Japan in 1993. The bypass is easy to navigate and comfortable. I entered Shibata city. For lunch, I ate the soul food of Shibata residents at this long-established restaurant founded in 1921. This is the place, and even though it’s not open yet, there are already people waiting. “Shokudo Hondaya” in Shibata City, Niigata Prefecture. The menu includes the daily dish, as well as noodles, rice bowls, and set meals. I had already decided what to order. There is also a sign on the wall . So heavy I couldn’t carry it I felt quite full with just one left I managed to finish it all Juicy shumai, delicious It started raining suddenly The weather had been fine just a moment ago From here we got on the free section of the Nihonkai Tohoku Expressway The rain got stronger The free section ended here I think this area is Murakami City Niigata prefecture is really long vertically Oh , the famous Sasagawa Nagare I’d like to go there someday but not now I see the words Tsuruoka and Nezumigaseki!
